One of the ringleaders of the Democratic Party’s attempt to destroy Brett Kavanaugh’s life in 2018 has been named Joe Biden’s running mate for the 2020 presidential election.
Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., used the Kavanaugh nomination in 2018 as a springboard for her failed presidential campaign. Focusing on her support for abortion and position on the Senate Judiciary Committee that handled the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, Harris strongly opposed Kavanaugh’s nomination within moments of it being announced, and long before she had a chance to review his record.
She joined other Democratic presidential hopefuls on the steps of the Supreme Court the next day to further express her opposition. She ran 3,600 different advertisements on Facebook before the second round of hearings began in late September 2018.
“Her performance during the Kavanaugh circus stood out as particularly demagogic, cynical & abysmal,” wrote TownHall political editor Guy Benson.
Within a few seconds of the first hearings being gaveled to order, Harris interrupted the proceedings in an attempt to shut them down on procedural grounds, part of a coordinated attack that included attempts by hundreds of compensated activists to get arrested.

"Disastrous Economic Situation" - Small Firm Bust Goes Unnoticed As Economy Flounders
The virus-induced recession has resulted in deep economic scarring that will be seen for years. Tens of millions of Americans remain unemployed, broke, and hungry. US bankruptcies of large companies are on pace to hit a 10-year high, with even moredevastation seen among smaller firms.
The collapse of small business is absolutely shocking, considering firms with under 500 employees account for about 44% of US economic activity.
Bloomberg notes a "wave of silent failures goes uncounted in part because real-time data on small business is notoriously scarce, and because owners of small firms often have no debt, and thus no need for bankruptcy court."
"Probably all you need to do is call the utilities and tell them to turn them off and close your door," said William Dunkelberg, chief economist for the National Federation of Independent Business.
Dunkelberg warned: Small business closures "are going to be well above normal because we're in a disastrous economic situation."
Yelp's latest data on business activity shows more than 80,000 companies permanently shuttered operations from March 1 to July 25. What's concerning is that 60,000 of these closings were small firms.

Kamala Harris believed Joe Biden’s accusers — until she didn’t
By the standard of her own ample public record, Kamala Harris has just joined the presidential campaign of a serial sexual abuser, Joe Biden.
It was during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings that we first learned that Harris harbors serious presidential aspirations. Her cross-examination of the future justice went viral, prompting Politico to speculate: “Kamala Harris Rides Kavanaugh Rage in Likely 2020 Bid.”
She later explained her hard-line position in an Atlantic magazine interview. Sexual assault, she said, “is an issue right now that is where the issue of domestic violence was about 30 years ago. … There was a perception about domestic violence: ‘Oh, you know, what happens in the king’s castle is the king’s business. That’s private business. That’s not our business.’ But then we evolved as a society. … I believe this is an inflection moment on the issue of sexual assault.”
The explicitly stated assumption behind all this was that the allegations against Kavanaugh, spurious, unproved and uncorroborated though they were, had to be believed — because women had made them.

PAINFUL: The 10 Most Cringeworthy Kamala Harris Endorsements
Poor Kamala Harris, stuck between Joe Biden and the American Left.
(But I repeat myself.)
It’s always nice when someone endorses you.
Except when it isn’t.
Sometimes an endorsement only serves to remind you that some of your supporters are…
…well, let’s just say Kamala Harris would certainly enjoy getting Biden-Harris marked on certain people’s secret ballots, but maybe the public love is a little too much.
Here are ten examples of just that.
All in the Imaginary Family
My poodle and I are going to bed happy knowing that when Uncle Joe becomes President, Auntie Kamala will be there in case bad crap happens.pic.twitter.com/mlWSCNvfCi

Let’s stipulate for the moment that some Republicans and conservatives distrust Donald Trump so much that even now they’re unwilling to vote for him for president.
It’s a big country with plenty of room for reasonable disagreements. So having stipulated the premise, let’s also concede that an actual Republican or actual conservative could reasonably and honestly find it impossible to support Trump with their vote.
There was no way I could vote for George Bush in 1992 after his 180 on taxes, something we all know was true of many Republicans.
However, it’s one thing to refuse to support a member of your party whom you feel has let you down, and quite another to sappily endorse the opposition, referring to them as “Uncle Joe” and “Auntie Kamala.”

Carney says Delaware can't afford state share of federal unemployment in Trump's executive order
Governor John Carney expressed frustration Tuesday over President Donald Trump's recent executive order that extends federal pandemic unemployment assistance for those who've lost their jobs, but requires states to pick up a portion of the tab.
"This new action, this executive order, is very complicated, and frankly, unnecessary," he told WDEL.
The executive order reduces pandemic unemployment assistance from $600 to $400 a week, but requires states to pay 25% or $100 of that cost.
The memorandum, from the president, noted if a state does not have the money and can't pay, it won't receive the other $300 from the federal government and workers will only be left with existing state unemployment benefits. States will also have to set up an entirely new system to deliver the additional aid, CNN reported.
"We have a system where we can do 100% or we can do 75%, they pay 25, and it will depend on the state," Trump told reporters before returning to the White House from his resort in New Jersey. "And they will make a application. We will look at it, and we'll make a decision."

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PRO TRUMP RALLY THIS SATURDAY. . .
Saturday August 15th, 9 to 11'ish AM (Air Show traffic along Route 50 in West Ocean City heading to the beach), followed by a social/complimentary lunch at Caribbean Joe's Pool Bar.
Park in designated area only, arrive no later than 8:45 . . . entrance to parking is on Route 611 about 50 yards south of the Route 50 intersection, on the right after you make the turn from Route 50. You will see signs and volunteers. Do not park at Caribbean Joe's or in front of Pizza Tugo.
We are putting a lot of time, effort and expense into this, please don't be the person who unintentionally sabotages that effort . . . we are trying to win people over, people who may not believe every exact thing that you/we believe. Plus we do not want to give the liberal media a photo op that they will use to silence our message.
So please, do not taunt passing motorists, no profanity or obscene gestures, do not extend your arms and sign into the roadway, no campaign signs, flags (other than Trump or American flag), and please, no confederate flags, clothing or other symbols/slogans that the media will enthusiastically use to falsely portray all of us as 'racists', their number one favorite smear.
If you don't want to make a sign, a Trump yard sign, a Trump banner, an American flag are all great.
We will assemble at the parking area and take the short walk to the rally site. After the rally, the social location is also a short walk away.
We will have a cooler of bottled water at the rally.
Please follow state's the black plague guidelines re masks and social distancing. We have plenty of room to 'stretch' the line out along the roadside. And abide by the policies of our social host, Caribbean Joe's, they are a licensed premises and we don't want to cause them problems with the virus police.
For those bringinging kids, there is a guarded pool at the location, but again abide by the owners rules re parental supervision, bare feet in the bar etc.
At the social we will pass the hat so we can generously tip the staff who will serve us and clean up after us.
HAVE FUN!!!!

MSM Plays Preemptive Misogyny Victim Card for Kamala Harris
MSM Wants You to Shut It, Sexist
Joyous midweek greetings to all of you, my dear Kruiser Morning Briefing readers.
Well, we finally have something to talk about that isn’t plague or riot-related, so I suppose we should be grateful for that. Unfortunately, it’s Kamala Harris.
A LOT of Kamala Harris.
OK, the MSM too.
Neither are very palatable.
This story about the MSM was originally going to be a more generic stand-alone column that I was going to post yesterday. I had begun writing it before Biden announced his VP pick. Once he did, I decided to write about that for the column instead and save the MSM hackery for this morning.
First, a brief glimpse at my column.
I admit that I thought Crazy Joe the Wonder Veep was going to choose Susan Rice but I kept hoping (on the record) that it would be Harris, because I think she’s horrible and therefore gives Trump a better chance for winning.
A couple hours after I published the column, POTUS confirmed that I’m not the only one thinking that.
Anyway, the column is here, and here is a brief snippet for your enjoyment:
Kamala Harris has all the charm of Katie in Paranormal Activity after the demon got complete control of her. If she is going to be getting more camera time than Biden, they better hope that she’s learned some lessons from last year.
Onto our friends in the MSM.

Colleges attempt to Impose "No Parties, No Trips" COVID-19 Rules for Fall
Even after big names like Harvard announced "online only" classes through the Fall semester, many colleges and universities across the nation will be opening campus for in-person classes with even sports to resume, albeit with strict coronavirus safety measures in place.
Anxiety is still high, however, as schools deal with a variety of "unknowns" as it will try to enforce everything from regular COVID-19 testing, to socially distanced dorms, to face-masks at all campus events, to a ban on parties for students often paying sky-high tuition. Concerning that last one — a strict ban on parties, which many have long seen as part of the 'college experience', this will be much easier said than done. Is it realistic?
"As they struggle to salvage some semblance of a campus experience this fall, U.S. colleges are requiring promises from students to help contain the coronavirus — no keg parties, no long road trips and no outside guests on campus," AP reports. "No kidding. Administrators warn that failure to wear masks, practice social distancing and avoid mass gatherings could bring serious consequences, including getting booted from school."

PA Teacher worries about 'Conservative' Parents listening in on classes
Kay said "conservative parents" are his chief concern when teachers are engaging “in the messy work of destabilizing a kid’s racism or homophobia or transphobia.”
A Philadelphia public school teacher is curious about how educators will cope with “conservative parents" listening in on virtual classes, according to a thread captured on Twitter.
According to a report by the Daily Wire, Matthew Kay, who teaches English at the Science Leadership Academy said on the social media platform that he is concerned about the “damage” that “helicopter parents” might cause if they overhear lessons on topics such as gender and sexuality.

BLM holds rally in Chicago to support those arrested after looting, unrest
“That is reparations,” a BLM organizer said. “Anything they wanted to take, they can take it because these businesses have insurance"
Black Lives Matter members in Chicago held a rally on Monday to support the more than 100 arrested last night following widespread looting and rioting that caused at least $60 million in property damage and saw 13 police officers injured, according to a report.
The rally was organized by Black Lives Matter Chicago and was held at a police station in the South Loop where organizers say individuals are currently being held in custody. At least one organizer called the looting tantamount to "reparations."
“I don’t care if someone decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store, because that makes sure that person eats,” said Ariel Atkins, a BLM organizer, according to NBC Chicago. “That makes sure that person has clothes.”

Why Kamala Harris was picked as Joe Biden’s running mate
WASHINGTON — Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden named California Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate Tuesday, adding an experienced campaigner with national star power to his ticket.
“I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate,” Biden tweeted.
Harris tweeted that Biden “can unify the American people because he’s spent his life fighting for us. And as president, he'll build an America that lives up to our ideals. I’m honored to join him as our party’s nominee for Vice President, and do what it takes to make him our Commander-in-Chief.”
A barrier-breaking former California attorney general and San Francisco district attorney, Harris gives the Democratic presidential nominee-to-be a vice presidential candidate with long experience in executive and legislative roles, as well as a prosecutorial sharpness that she brought with her to the Senate. She will be the first woman of color to be put on a major party’s ticket.
But Harris has been opposed by some progressives for her record in law enforcement and at times less-liberal positions. Her nearly 20 years in office in San Francisco, Sacramento and Washington, along with her criticisms of Biden during the Democratic presidential primary campaign, could also provide fodder for attacks from President Trump and other Republicans.

Fairfax Public Schools Tell Parents To Stop Educating Their Kids While School Is Banned
A county in Virginia is discouraging parents from hiring private tutors for their children while refusing to provide in-person instruction in public schools.
“While [the Fairfax County Public School system] doesn’t and can’t control these private tutoring groups, we do have concerns that they may widen the gap in educational access and equity for all students,” said a memofrom one of the nation’s largest school systems on Friday. Many parents are working together to hire private tutors to teach their children in small groups at home.

GovTrack: Kamala Harris Further Left than ‘Democratic Socialist’ Bernie Sanders
The non-partisan GovTrack.us website rated Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) the most left-wing member of the Senate in 2019 — further left than “democratic socialist” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
In 2018, Harris was ranked the fourth-most left-wing. But by 2019 — a year she spent running for president — Harris had moved to the furthest extreme.
She was an early co-sponsor of the Senate version of the “Green New Deal” of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), as well as the “Medicare for All” bill introduced by Sanders, which would have eliminated all private health insurance.
Harris also supported granting free health care to illegal aliens, slashing military budgets, and other radical proposals.
GovTrack explained its ratings: “Our unique ideology analysis assigns a score to Members of Congress according to their legislative behavior by how similar the pattern of bills and resolutions they cosponsor are to other Members of Congress. The score can be interpreted as a conservative—liberal scale, although of course it only takes into account a small aspect of reality.” The most conservative score is 1.00; the most liberal score possible is 0.00.
Harris ranked #100 — the “least conservative,” or most liberal, Senator on the list, and the only one to score a “0.00”:

Far-left Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) told Comedy Central's Trevor Noah on Monday that Joe Biden is essentially a puppet who can be easily manipulated.
"I will be pushing him, as soon as we get him in the White House and even before, with these task forces that we had" Japayal said, adding "we were able to significantly push Joe Biden to do things that he hadn't signed on to before. So he is moveable, he is listening."

President Trump Says He Would 'Absolutely' Fill A Supreme Court Vacancy Before November
President Trump indicated that he would fill a potential vacancy on the Supreme Court ahead of the election in November, as rumors of a potential retirement loom. In an interview with Hugh Hewitt, Trump said he would nominate a jurist to fill the seat quickly:
The prospect of filling a Supreme Court seat ahead of November sparks controversy on Capitol Hill, as Democrats warn Republicans of adhering to their own standard set in 2016. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) famously declined to hold hearings for President Obama’s final nominee, Judge Merrick Garland. Hedging his bets on a GOP sweep in November of 2016, Leader McConnell argued that a justice should not be confirmed to the high court amidst divided government.

Has America Entered A New Era Of Permanent Civil Unrest?
In 2020, it seems like each new day brings more headlines about chaos on the streets of America, and on Monday that included violence right outside the gates of the White House. It is being reported that there was “an active shooter near the White House”, and we are being told that the Secret Service shot a “male suspect” and that the “male suspect” had been transported to the hospital. I am sure that we will learn more about this incident in the days ahead, and we should be thankful that the Secret Service was able to easily handle this situation.
But there are reports that a group of protesters plans to “lay siege” to the White House in the weeks leading up to the election, and so officials will undoubtedly have their hands full as we draw closer to November.
Meanwhile, we just witnessed five hours of rioting, looting and violence in Chicago. Some rioters exchanged gunfire with police, and ultimately a decision was made to raise bridges going into the city in order to contain the violence…
Chicago officials raised bridges and suspended some train and bus service Monday morning after unrest and looting caused widespread damage in the city’s downtown overnight.
Videos that were circulating on social media captured the early morning scenes of hundreds of people in the streets, dozens of police officers, looting and confrontations with the police. There was also an exchange of gunfire with the police in the downtown, according to a police spokesman, Tom Ahren. He said on Twitter early Monday that there were “shots fired at police who returned fire,” and that no officers were injured.”
In the past, a night of chaos like that would have been the top headline in the country for days, but now it is “just another riot” which will soon fade from memory.

Tom Del Beccaro: Kamala Harris, Biden's VP pick, views politics as a game
Harris's convictions aren't about the issues, they're about power and the limelight
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, after many delays, has finally announced his choice for vice president. He's chosen former presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as his running mate.
Time will tell the real story behind why Biden chose Harris. Meanwhile, what is blatantly apparent is that Harris is not ready to be president. That is no small consideration given what critics have referred to as potential cognitive issues for the 77-year-old former vice president. These potential cognitive issues could make Harris president of the United States -- and in short order.
Indeed, for the first time in American history, voters are presented with the real possibility they are selecting someone with the knowledge that the vice-presidential candidate could be president within four years – or less.

Surging Gun Sales Triggers Second Ammo Shortage Of This Year
The virus pandemic triggered a socio-economic bomb across major US metro areas resulting in one of the largest panic hoardings of guns and ammo by fearful consumers in quite some time, if not ever.
Gregory Ionadi, 75, the owner of gun shop Smoke N' Guns, located in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, told PJ Media:
"Prior to the COVID outbreak, President Obama was the best gun salesman we ever had," said Ionadi. "Anytime he was going to ban this, ban that, there was a rush on gun sales. When President Trump was elected, the fear of a gun ban subsided, and sales were so flat that several gun manufacturers went out of business."
Ionadi said sales at his gun shop erupted during the pandemic. He said he made more gun and ammo sales from March to April than what was done in the last three years, calling the period absolutely "crazy."
He said once the social unrest spread across the country by late May into early summer, the second round of panic buying occurred.
"You wouldn't believe the first-time gun buyers I've seen," said Ionadi. "I started seeing little old ladies — 70, 80 years old — wanting to defend themselves because of what was going on. So, I had to change my thinking. I had to start buying .22 Magnum revolvers. I have some revolvers here, but I had to start buying revolvers that women and older folks could use because they are easy to handle. Semi-auto and a revolver are two different things."
Gun stocks soared this summer as gun background checks rose 79% in July year-over-year.

BILL CLINTON TO SPEAK AT DEMOCRAT NATIONAL CONVENTION DESPITE COURT DOCS CLAIMING HE FLEW TO EPSTEIN’S ‘PEDO ISLAND’

Trump-haters realize there are things worse than Trump
There are three groups of people who will vote for Trump: those who supported Trump in 2016, those who have come to support Trump, and those who are so frightened of Biden and the Democrats that they'll do anything to see Trump win. This has the potential to be a sizable voting bloc, one that may give Trump more than the 30 states he won in 2016.
Don Surber (whose blog you should be reading) is predicting that Trump will not only win the 30 states he won in 2016, but will add another seven. I'm beginning to think Don is on to something.
Don's starting point is that, subject to a vanishingly small number of exceptions, those people who supported Trump in 2016 still support him. That means he'll get 63 million or so votes at a minimum. That's a good start.
Next, add the people who have grown to appreciate Trump. Until the Democrats used the Wuhan virus to shut down the economy, Trump had presided over an extraordinary economic boom, one that benefited all Americans. In an op-ed for CNN that must have terrified Democrats, Rich Thau, who runs the Swing Voter Project, wrote about the normal, fairly apolitical, people who benefited from the Trump boom. The majority of these swing voters, he said, want Trump:

Peter Schweizer: Kamala Harris Gained ‘Job Promotions’ and BMW 7 Series During Willie Brown Affair
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), former 2020 presidential candidate, rose to power in California politics by having an affair with former California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown, according to Peter Schweizer, Government Accountability Institute (GAI) president and Breitbart News senior contributor.
Schweizer reveals in his book Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite and in a sit-down interview with Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on Breitbart News Daily that Brown gave Harris expensive favors, such as a BMW 7 Series and job promotions within the city government.

Correction: Transgender Surgery Does Not Help Mental Health, Academics Belatedly Admit
Last year, a groundbreaking study published in the American Journal of Psychiatry (AJP) claimed to prove that transgender surgery improves the mental health of people suffering from gender dysphoria (the persistent and painful identification with the gender opposite one’s biological sex). Earlier this month, however, AJP issued a “correction” that acknowledged key flaws in the study and admitted that the true results “demonstrated no advantage of surgery.” This represents a severe blow to the transgender ideological takeover of American medicine.
The original AJP article “Reduction in Mental Health Treatment Utilization Among Transgender Individuals After Gender-Affirming Surgeries: A Total Population Study,” written by Richard Bränström, Ph.D., and John E. Pachankis, Ph.D. and published on October 4, 2019, analyzed a newly available dataset from Sweden. The study found that people with gender dysphoria were “about six times as likely” to have a mood and anxiety disorder health-care visit and far more likely to be hospitalized for a suicide attempt.
The study compared gender dysphoric people who did not take cross-sex hormones or undergo transgender surgery with those who did. The authors admitted that “years since initiating hormone treatment was not significantly related to likelihood of mental health treatment,” but claimed that “increased time since last gender-affirming surgery was associated with reduced mental health treatment.”

Donald Trump: The Way NBA Bows to China Is a ‘Disgrace’
President Donald Trump on Tuesday said it was a disgrace the NBA continued to cater to China despite their known human rights abuses.
“The way they cater to China, the way they bow to China, it’s a disgrace, frankly and they make a lot more money here than they do from China,” Trump said about the organization.
The president commented on the NBA during an interview with Fox Sports Radio host Clay Travis on Tuesday morning.
He also criticized NBA players that frequently protested and voiced opposition to the United States.
“Some are very nasty, very, very nasty, and frankly very dumb,” Trump replied.
The president recalled the United States had enshrined freedom of speech, but suggested players criticize other countries as well.
“We have a system that allows you to disrespect your system and that’s too bad for them, they don’t appreciate what they have here,” Trump said.

Police: Pennsylvania Man Admits to Killing Two Mothers of His Children
A Pennsylvania man accused of fatally shooting the two mothers of his children admitted that he committed both murders during an interview with law enforcement officials, police said.
Davone Unique Anderson, 25, told the police that he shot and killed Sydney Parmelee, 23, at a home on July 5 because he believed she was cheating on him, Penn Live reported.
Detectives said Anderson told them he fatally shot Kaylee Lyons, 23, who was six weeks pregnant, at the same house on July 30 because he was scared she would tell the authorities he killed Parmelee.
The officers said Parmelee’s body was found with a bullet wound to her head on a couch on July 5 before 4:45 p.m. Detectives said a gun and a used bullet casing were found nearby.
Both shootings took place at Lyons’s home.
