Sheriff Mike Lewis, Tough Guy Or Inspirational?

WBOC is slamming Sheriff Mike Lewis for his personal Facebook rant against the NFL protesters disrespecting Veterans and Law Enforcement Officers.

For me personally, here's a guy willing to put his name on the line and call these scumbags out for who and what they are in his own personal opinion. The LIBERAL news media is making every attempt to make Sheriff Lewis look bad, just like President Donald Trump.

Look, if there's ANYTHING the media should be going after in a matter like this is NOT because mike is against what these protesters are kneeling for, they should be going after Mike for being such an a-hole to his Deputies for NOT allowing them their First Amendment Rights to voice their own personal opinions on any on line topic. Do as I say, not as I do Lewis is a hypocrite, period. He needs to respect the fact that his Deputies are grown ups, not his little children.
Nevertheless, Sheriff Mike Lewis is spot on with his Facebook message but unfortunately the Sheriff put his tail between his legs and took down his post. Someone needs to grow a pair and not take a knee himself.

A Viewer Writes: Royal Farms Near Hebron

Joe,

I use to love Royal Farms in Salisbury and remember when they opened. I recently traveled from Baltimore to Salisbury for business and made a stop there. When I entered the men’s room, I almost puked. The smell was vile, it was beyond filthy. And I am sure that the Health Dept would have a field day there.

The very fact that the employees also use these restrooms is disgusting because they go right out and handle food. I emailed Royal Farms corporate office about this twice and have not had any response at all.

So what do I do, I now turn to you so you can put them on blast. I have never seen this kind of filth and smell.

Suspect Arrested And Charged In Murder At Eastern Shore University

(PRINCESS ANNE, MD) – A Maryland State Police homicide investigation has led to the indictment and arrest today of a Baltimore man for the murder of an Eastern Shore university student more than four years ago.

The suspect is identified as Davonta M. Braxton, 25, of Baltimore, Md. Braxton was arrested about 10:30 a.m. today on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He has been charged on an indictment from a Somerset County Grand Jury with second degree murder, manslaughter, first degree assault and second degree assault. He has been taken to the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack for processing and will later be transported to the Somerset County Detention Center to await his initial appearance before a court commissioner.

Braxton is charged in connection with the murder of Edmond St. Clair, 21, who was a student at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Braxton has been a student at the university intermittently, but is not currently enrolled there, according to school records.

At about 9:00 p.m. on February 16, 2013, St. Clair was a passenger in a car traveling across the University of Maryland Eastern Shore campus. Not far from the Student Services Center, St. Clair and those he was traveling with encountered several people who were walking in the street.

The investigation revealed St. Clair got out of the car and an altercation occurred, during which he was stabbed in the upper torso. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

During a search of the area near the crime scene, State Police investigators and crime scene technicians recovered a folding knife. The knife was examined at the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division crime laboratory. Evidence was found on the knife that positively connected it to the murder of St. Clair. Also found on the knife was DNA evidence from an unknown contributor.

Through their ongoing investigation of this murder, Maryland State Police Homicide Unit investigators were able to identify Braxton as a possible suspect. A search warrant was obtained and DNA was obtained from Braxton. Scientists at the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division Laboratory determined the DNA evidence found on the knife was a positive match with the suspect’s DNA.

Evidence developed in this investigation was presented by the Somerset County State’s Attorney’s Office to a Grand Jury. The presentation resulted in the criminal indictment.

Investigative assistance was provided to the State Police Homicide Unit by the Somerset County Narcotics Task Force, the Somerset County State’s Attorney’s Office and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Police Department. Troopers and criminal investigators from the State Police Princess Anne Barrack also provided assistance, as did members of the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division. Maryland State Police Homicide Unit investigators also thank officials from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore for their cooperation and assistance throughout the investigation.

Are You Kidding Yourselves?

By Thornton Crowe

Can you really support our local leadership and still be a Trump supporter at the same time?

The Trump Agenda centers around the voter and his/her well-being. He promotes good paying jobs, healthcare options at affordable costs, honoring our history, law enforcement and military, and lastly, encouraging us all to have dreams and pursue them.

This is called American Centrism. And a lot of voters, including a majority here on the Shore voted for this last November.

If you look at the leadership decisions, they run counter to everything in the above agenda as our local politicians seem to be all about self-interest, catering to special interests groups and unrealistic demands which don't serve us. This is everything Trump supporters voted against in the last election and frankly, not very Trumpian!

For some examples of the many juxtapositions, the following illustrates some of the non-Trump actions of both our local Republican and Democrat leaders:

  • Failure to fix infrastructure issues like the sewage plant which has never worked properly and clean up the river in the Downtown area.
  • Arguments and upheaval over volunteer verses paid firefighters and Station 13.
  • Continued overtaxing our already sub par infrastructure systems by expecting the area to tolerate 200K visitors for a folk music festival that could potentially cost much more than it would gain through lawsuits and mishandling/mismanagement.
  • Continued escalation of crime, yet failing to report crime statistics, which poses a danger to citizens.
  • Continuation of downgrading local criminal behavior and failure to prosecute those crimes on any real level.
  • Businesses providing permanent jobs with benefits continue to vacate the area and in their place temporary or part-time work in the fast food or convenience store industries.
  • Constant bickering, personality clashes and pettiness between the City and County governments where nothing ever gets resolved - unless it costs the taxpayers big bucks.
  • Jumping on the latest social justice warrior trains no matter how ridiculous. For example, the upset over the historic markers.
  • Both County and City have had massive budget issues, shortcomings and legal questions about working within their charters.
  • Last but not least, local officials have the utter audacity to demand raises for themselves even though they have produced absolutely nothing of benefit to you. (Don't forget: Trump opted to take not take a salary at all.)

Does the above put you, the voter, first? Hardly. Does it make you better off financially than you were ten years ago? Probably not.

In reality, the President can only do so much for you. Local governments have to cooperate with the America First agenda in order for you to feel its full benefits. Yet, here we are - in an local political climate where everything couldn't be further from Trump's plan for us.

Therefore, why do you continue to promote people on a local level who spout agendas that leave you in the middle going nowhere?

If you can name any of the local leaders who legitimately support Trump in their actions (not words) please post them in the comments and explain why you think they are America First candidates/leaders!

Death Star: George Soros Transfers $18 Billion to Open Society Foundations

Left-wing billionaire George Soros has transferred $18 billion to his Open Society Foundations, the primary vehicle for his global political activism and philanthropy.

The transfer, according to the Wall Street Journal, accounts for most of Soros’s foundation, which he accrued through a controversial career as an investor. The Journal notes: “Open Society has vaulted to the top ranks of philanthropic organizations, appearing to become the second largest in the U.S. by assets after the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, based on 2014 figures from the National Philanthropic Trust.”

Soros, who is 87, transferred the funds as part of a plan to make sure his activism continues after he retires or passes away. $18 billion is roughly three times the amount of money spent by all parties, in all races, during the 2016 election cycle, according to Open Secrets. Though not all of the Open Society Foundations’ activities will be focused on the United States, Soros’ grant easily makes his organization the biggest player on the American political scene.

Globally, Soros is involved in efforts to make Ireland pro-abortion, to demonize the Israeli government, and to promote migration from the Muslim world into Europe across open borders.

A Comment Worthy Of A Post 10-16-17

Joe I have been giving this subject a lot of thought and I think you should weigh in on it.

Do you think the Fire Chief and the Police Chief of Municipalities such as Salisbury should be elected positions?

If the fire chief and the police chief are both elected by the voters, citizens of Salisbury, then they would be held accountable to the citizens and not lame mayors like Jake Day, Jim Ireton and Barrie Tilghman.

An elected fire chief and police chief will be required by law to have residency in the municipality where they are elected the entire time.

If the fire chief and police chief are elected by the citizens then they have to be a resident of the city at least 1 year prior to filing as a candidate.

If the fire chief and the police chief are elected by the citizens and not the fire fighters or police officers then they would be held accountable to the citizens and not the lame Mayor's and Councils.

The the fire chief and police chief are elected by the citizens in most of Louisiana I just read. Places that allow elected fire and police chiefs allow the candidates to be non certified, but they are required to get their certifications within 2 years.

If the fire chief and police chief are elected they would be held accountable to the tax payers meaning they wouldn't be wasting our hard earned tax dollars on junk like the S.S. Hoppes.

In most places a new mayor and council means new department heads anyway meaning you get a new police chief and fire chief when they are appointed vs. elected.

I can support a resident/citizen elected fire chief and police chief.

Rep. Frederica Wilson pledges not to comment any further on Gold Star widow's phone call with Trump

Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., says she will no longer comment on a Gold Star widow's phone call with President Trump after White House chief of staff John Kelly's emotional press briefing in which he criticized the lawmaker for politicizing the call.

"The congresswoman will not be making any further comment on the issue because the focus should be on helping a grieving widow and family heal, not on her or Donald Trump," Wilson's spokesperson said in a statement Thursday.

Florida Democrat Wilson no friend of veterans, vote record shows

The Florida Democrat who criticized President Donald Trump this week for being "insensitive" toward the widow of a U.S. soldier slain in Africa might be facing similar criticism herself.

It turns out that U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson has frequently voted against measures intended to help veterans and their families, according to VoteSmart.org, a vote-tracking site whose founding board members included former presidents Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford.

The measures that Wilson opposed included a bill that could have ensured that families of four soldiers slain in Afghanistan in 2013 received death and burial benefits.

‘She likes fancy words’: Md. GOP delegate’s mockery of Democratic gubernatorial candidate sparks a backlash

Maryland House Minority Whip Kathy Szeliga (R-Baltimore County) is receiving some backlash for comments about Democratic gubernatorial candidate Maya Rockeymoore Cummings that some critics have characterized as petty and divisive.

Szeliga wrote on her Facebook page: “Elijah Cumming’s wife running for MD gov. - she likes fancy words - ‘minutiae’ to let us know how smart she is - ‘I have a Ph.D. in political science with an emphasis on public policy,’ she said. ‘I am confident on mastering any minutiae when it comes to government and policy.’ ”

Rockeymoore Cummings, a policy consultant who is married to U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), is the eighth Democratic candidate vying to unseat popular Gov. Larry Hogan (R). She announced her campaign on Thursday morning.

Szeliga’s post received nearly 150 responses. Almost 95 laughed at it; three dozen liked it.

While the majority of those who commented on the post cheered Szeliga on, others were offended by what they saw as an attack on an educated black woman.

Email Leak: Martin O’Malley Tells John Podesta He’s Broke, Looking For Job

Former Maryland Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley told top Clinton adviser John Podesta he was broke and looking for a job earlier this year, according to an email released on WikiLeaks Monday.

Podesta reached out to the former 2016 presidential hopeful shortly after he announced he was dropping out the primary, and attempted to secure his endorsement for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

“Want to know how you are doing and interested to get your observations and advice. We would, of course, love to get your support,” Podesta wrote.

While O’Malley did not immediately agree to throw his support behind the candidate, waiting until June to formally endorse the former secretary of state, he did offer up information on his less than optimal financial situation.

"The System Is Broken": Angry Baltimore Dad Lashes Out As 12th Grader Tests At 4th Grade Math Level

One Baltimore resident and disable Army veteran, Victor Able, Sr., is fed up with the public education that his son, a 12th grader on the verge of graduation, received from City Neighbors Charter School after he recently tested at 4th grade level in math and 5th grade level in reading. Able says his son was simply passed to the next grade year after year so that his school could continue to receive extra federal funding even though it failed to deliver results. After his complaints fell on deaf ears at city council and the mayor’s office, Able has now hired an attorney to address a system he says is "broken." Per Fox News:

According to the IEP report, the 12th grader reads at a 5th grade level; does math at a 4th grade level.

“It’s not supposed to happen,” stated Able. “I don’t want him to fall out into the streets.”

“They failed my son,” said Able. “Not just my son, a whole lot of kids. The system is broken. They need to stop and fix it.”

Able told Project Baltimore he has hired an attorney and has a meeting with the school later this month.

Confronted with the complaint, City Neighbors released the following generic statement which we can only assume roughly translates to'we allow teachers the "autonomy" to consistently fail and never hold them to account because their union says we're not allowed to'...but that's a very rough translation.

“We provide a unique environment that is designed to empower students, nurture a sense of belonging and gives teachers autonomy to establish a strong culture of learning. Our faculty and staff are dedicated professionals who work diligently to ensure that all students receive the best education and our best efforts.” - Bobbi Macdonald, City Neighbors Charter School

Girl Scouts Lash Out at Boy Scouts for Accepting Female Members

You might’ve heard that the Boy Scouts of America unanimously decided to begin accepting girls to join all of their scouting programs from Cub Scouts to Eagle Scouts. While many are praising their decision for being inclusive and progressive, you may be surprised to learn that the Girl Scouts are clearly unhappy that the Boy Scouts don’t seem to care about the gender of their future recruits.

The Girl Scouts quickly posted a lengthy statement on their official blog that provides a wide range of reasons that suggest their organization is the superior organization for girls. “Girl Scouts is the best girl leadership organization in the world, created with and for girls," the statement read. "We believe strongly in the importance of the all-girl, girl-led, and girl-friendly environment that Girl Scouts provides, which creates a free space for girls to learn and thrive."

It went on to say, "The benefit of the single-gender environment has been well-documented by educators, scholars, other girl- and youth-serving organizations, and Girl Scouts and their families. Girl Scouts offers a one-of-a-kind experience for girls with a program tailored specifically to their unique developmental needs."

Federal Court Rules World War One Memorial Cross Must Be Torn Down

Back in 1925, the American Legion erected a memorial in Bladensburg, Maryland to honor the memory of 49 men who perished during World War One.

The 40-foot tall memorial became known as the "Peace Cross."

In 2014, the American Humanist Association filed a lawsuit alleging the cross-shaped memorial is unconstitutional and demanding it be demolished, altered, or removed.

They alleged the cross carries "an inherently religious message and creates the unmistakable appearance of honoring only Christian servicemen."

On Wednesday, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals agreed and ruled the historic memorial must be torn down - all because the Bladensburg Memorial is in the shape of a cross.

Cecil Co. Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charges

(PERRYVILLE, MD) – Maryland State Police computer crimes investigators have arrested and charged a Cecil County man with the possession and distribution of child pornography.

The suspect is identified as Eric McBride 19, of Perryville, Md. He is charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of distribution of child pornography. Subsequent to his arrest, McBride was transported to the Cecil County Central Booking Center for processing and to await an initial appearance before a court commissioner.

Earlier this year, a member of the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit was conducting an on-line investigation involving the distribution and possession of child pornography after receiving multiple tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tips revealed child pornography was being uploaded to a social media site.

Further investigation revealed the downloaded child pornography was distributed from a specific Internet address which led to a specific residential address where the IP address is assigned. Troopers obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and served the warrant at 5:30 a.m. this morning.

The search and seizure warrant was executed at McBride’s residence this morning at 5:30 a.m. by the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit and agents from the Department of Homeland Security, FBI and officers from the Perryville Police Department. A preliminary forensic review of the suspect’s electronic devices indicated it held multiple images and/or video files of child pornography. The suspect was subsequently identified and arrested.

The investigation is continuing.
