Study Finds 20 Percent Of Children Killed In Car Crashes Were Improperly Restrained

A review of child deaths after fatal car crashes found wide variations by state and region, and suggests state authorities could radically decrease child deaths by changing traffic safety laws.

The results add evidence to the argument that state regulations and public information tactics can affect motor vehicle safety for kids. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has noted that, for example, seat belt use across all age groups is higher in states with more stringent seat belt enforcement laws.

Overall, traffic fatalities in the U.S. are going up, as we have reported. The latest study set out to look at what factors specifically affect child deaths in fatal car accidents, breaking down the data by state and region.

Why Dogs Bite Kids

Study Shows Common Links

As medical reports of dogs biting children continued to increase, researchers started to ask, “Why?” Henceforth, a veterinary behavior clinic in Philadelphia embarked on a study to help us understand what makes a dog’s mind tick…or at least what ticks it off when it comes to kids.

As reported in the medical journal Injury Prevention, researchers at the veterinary behavioral clinic examined 111 cases of dog bites by 103 dogs (representing 41 different dog breeds) that took place over a four-year period.

Several notable patterns came to their attention: the dogs displayed territorial behavior, anxiety, or were coping with medical issues at the time the biting occurred.

Second Thoughts About A Second Marriage In 'Standard Deviation'

The stories Katherine Heiny collected in her appealing 2015 debut, Single, Carefree, Mellow, were mainly about that many-splendored thing called love and the often baffling, complicated forms it can take — including blithely indulged-in adultery. Her warmhearted and even funnier first adult novel (she's published dozens of young adult novels under assorted pen names) also explores the complexities and ambivalences that color even our most central relationships. But if there are three words that donot describe the characters in Standard Deviation, theyare single, carefree, and mellow. This book is about a marriage under stress — though Heiny keeps it bubbly, evoking the smart, stylish wit of Laurie Colwin, Nora Ephron, and Maria Semple.

She subverts our expectations right from the start by eschewing the perspectives of her two lead female characters, choosing instead to channel the perplexed 56-year-old venture capitalist who has been married to both of them. We meet Graham Cavanaugh 12 years into his second marriage — to Audra Daltry, who is 15 years younger and a million times more gregarious. He's already lasted four years longer with Audra than he did with chilly, humorless Elspeth Osbourne — in no small part because of Audra's winning smile. But here he is, 12 years in, wracked by questions about her loyalty and suitability as a spouse, and whether he made a mistake. He muses that "maybe people weren't meant to get married twice; it only led to comparisons."

We've all met friendly-to-a-fault Audras, perhaps even had the misfortune of sitting next to one on a long flight. Heiny's portrait is initially hilarious: We eavesdrop along with Graham as she gossips her way through Fairway market, lying to her yoga teacher about why she missed class, buttering up their appliance repairman with a sexual innuendo to which she's oblivious, and holding up the checkout line by distracting an inept clerk. After questioning whether "there was some sort of processing unit — some sort of filter — missing from Audra's brain," Graham concedes that she has a lot of intel that people are eager to trade on: "Sometimes Graham felt like he was married to Warren Buffett. Well, a female Warren Buffett who knew about everything except finance."

White business owners open burrito shop, then shut down for “racism” accusations

Kali Wilgus and Liz “LC” Connelly have a fondness for a popular Mexican food – tortillas. During a road trip, the two “white” friends made an effort to find out the secret to making a good tortilla. After determining the right mix of ingredients and technique, the pair decided to open Kooks Burritos, a food cart that offered customers hand made tortillas, rolled out and cooked in front of them.

Connelly and Wilgus would then create custom breakfast burritos, serving the tortillas with eggs, guacamole, cheese and special neon-green or orange salsa’s.

The eatery was off to a good start, with Willamette Week writing a review of the shop and suggesting breakfast burrito fans “Get up a little early this weekend” and try Kooks.

A few days after Willamette Week’s story was published, Kooks Burritos was forced to close up shop due to some of the comments Connelly made in the article.

What Happens When States Go Hunting for Welfare Fraud

By the time Illinois decided to crack down on Medicaid fraud in 2012, state officials knew that many people enrolled in the program probably weren’t eligible. For years, caseworkers hadn’t had the time or resources to check.

To catch up, the state hired a private contractor to identify people who might not be eligible for the low-income health program and to make recommendations for whose benefits should be canceled. Within about a year, Illinois had canceled benefits for nearly 150,000 people whose eligibility could not be verified — and saved an estimated $70 million.

Now, faced with growing Medicaid enrollment and tight budgets, Republican lawmakers in several other states are taking similar steps to ensure that people receiving welfare benefits are eligible for them. Under their proposals, which are modeled on legislation drafted by a national conservative group, recipients would face tougher and more frequent eligibility checks. And the checks could be conducted by private contractors who are motivated to justify their hiring by knocking as many people as possible off the rolls.

Indictment: Attorney Offers Money To Rape Victim Not To Testify

A criminal defense attorney faces charges of witness intimidation and obstruction of justice after allegedly telling a rape victim she will be deported if she testifies against his client.

New York is Ground Zero for the deadliest super-bug yet

The deadliest superbug yet — Candida auris — is invading hospitals and nursing homes, killing a staggering 60 percent of patients it infects. New York City is Ground Zero, with three-quarters of the cases.

Some exposed patients don’t succumb to infection but silently carry the germ and infect others. A patient treated first in New York City unknowingly carried it upstate to Rochester General Hospital, where he died weeks ago. The lethal germ has also reached New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois and Massachusetts, with 122 cases reported so far this year, up from only six last year.

The germ — a fungus — lingers on bedrails and on the uniforms and hands of doctors and nurses. Once it gets inside a catheter or breathing device and invades a patient’s body, it kills.

Candida auris is already in 20 hospitals in New York, including prestigious medical centers. Acting CDC Director Anne Schuchat calls it a “catastrophic threat.” Strong words, but don’t expect health authorities to do much. They’re saying what they always say — patients dying from these infections were already seriously ill. Well, duh. Who else goes to a hospital?

Harley Davidson's Plan to Manufacture Motorcycle in Thailand?

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — United Steelworkers (USW) International President Leo W. Gerard released the following statement after the New York Timespublished a story that Harley Davidson will be opening a production facility in Thailand. The USW represents members at Harley’s plants in Wisconsinand Missouri.

“Harley-Davidson has been the crown jewel of American manufacturing. It’s an iconic brand that represents true American spirit. Management’s decision to offshore production is a slap in the face to the American worker and to hundreds of thousands of Harley riders across the country.

“This decision puts in jeopardy one of the few remaining genuine U.S. brands.

“Our members have been true partners with this company, working in good times and bad to make great products that fostered its growth and success. We remember the U.S. government stepping up in the 1980s to save Harley-Davidson and contributing to its revival.

“Harley owners and prospective buyers across the globe want to continue to enjoy machines made in America that provide quality rides and unique experiences. Harley’s potential outsourcing of production puts all of this at risk.

WATCH: Baltimore demolition crew just tore down the wrong building

The Baltimore City Department of Housing outsourced an emergency demolition of an old row house with a “bowing exterior wall” and massive crack in the wall to K&K Adams. Neighbors gathered to watch the blighted building finally taken down. That’s when they witnessed the excavator topple the building next door instead.

According to a Baltimore Sun report, 214 E. Fort Ave. partially collapsed in a matter of seconds, leaving only a cloud of dust and debris.

“We were like, ‘Oh my God!'” neighbor Lauren Singer said.

Attached buildings are demolished frequently in the east coast city, but not this one, and no one is revealing why.

Pence's Message of 'Civility and Open Debate' Lost on Those Who Most Needed to Hear It

The vice president celebrated Notre Dame's commitment to free speech at the same time protesters streamed out of his commencement address.

Protesting political commencement speakers—presidents past and present, former or current Cabinet members who wax platitudinous on graduation day—is not a new phenomenon. SoVice President Mike Pence knew what he was walking into at Notre Dame last weekend. He came prepared. And while he condemned the censorious habits of mind endemic to campuses these days, students and families filed silently out of their own graduation ceremony.

About 150 up and left, according to the South Bend Tribune, missing the vice president's praise of the Fighting Irish for their commitment to free speech and liberal-democratic dissent. "While this institution has maintained an atmosphere of civility and open debate," he said, "far too many campuses across America have become characterized by speech codes, safe zones, tone policing, administration-sanctioned political correctness—all of which amounts to nothing less than suppression of the freedom of speech."

Students at the nation's top Catholic university spent weeks planning their Pence protest. The protest, led by the group We StaND For, was not just predictable but preplanned: activists mapped out the venue and their route online ahead of time. Women's March organizers and representatives from GLAAD—formerly the gay and lesbian alliance against defamation; now, to ward off the appearance of trans-exclusion, "GLAAD" stands for nothing—stepped up to support the scheduled walkout. Alumni signed on by the thousands. Talking Points Memo published passages from the protesters' manifesto:

Officials remind area drivers to play it safe in summer traffic

STEVENSVILLE, Md. — Summer months are among the most deadly for traffic crashes, and a good way to avoid death and injury is clicking the seat belt, officials said.

“The routine wearing of seat belts is the single most-effective measure to reduce crash-related deaths and injuries,” said Kurt Erickson of the Washington Regional Alcohol Program during an event Tuesday promoting safe summer driving.

With the Chesapeake Bay Bridge as a backdrop, officials gathered by AAA Mid-Atlantic detailed how to help keep drivers safe, keep crashes to a minimum and keep traffic flowing smoothly.

“Please do not tailgate,” said Jim Ports, deputy secretary of Maryland’s Department of Transportation. “Tailgating is the No. 1 reason for crashes on the Bay Bridge.”

American Small Business Owner Rages At Politicians: "Quit Your Job And Try The Real World"

This morning I read a stinging open letter written by a small business owner in the Land of the Free named Don Chernoff. Chernoff imports and sells luggage, and he pulled no punches in voicing his disgust for the phony support and failed policies that constantly make his life more difficult.

I’ve edited his letter for length below; the full version is available here.

You all love to talk about how much you support small business; the reality is the opposite. The economy is changing rapidly and is vastly different than just a few years ago. Many of the factory jobs in this country have gone and will not return.

Computer technology and automation will soon eliminate thousands more jobs (think truck drivers, taxi drivers, office workers, etc…).

Because there will be fewer middle-class jobs, many people who never considered working for themselves will be forced to become sole proprietors or open a small business. It is therefore critically important that you make it easier for these people to do so.

Right now instead of creating incentives for people to start their own small business, you create nothing but hurdles, allow me to give some examples.

Excessive health care costs

I work for myself and have to pay my own medical expenses. Before the “affordable care act” I was paying about $200 per month for a high deductible policy. It was far from perfect but it got so much worse under the “Affordable” care act.

I now pay over $400 a month, my deductible went from $5,000 to over $6,000 and my out of pocket costs for care have skyrocketed.

At this rate, I will go broke soon, and I am healthier than average. I don’t know how any normal working family or small businessman can possibly afford these rates without going bankrupt.
Income Tax Filing

I have to spend dozens of hours and thousands of dollars for a tax accountant each spring to prepare my taxes because I cannot possibly understand how to do it myself, and I have a master’s degree in engineering.

I also have to remember to pay quarterly estimates, even if my income in not predictable or fluctuates (which it does for most small businesses) or else I get dinged with penalties.

Sources: Democratic Aide Suspected Of Major Security Breach Under Government Protection In Pakistan

A criminal suspect in an investigation into a major security breach on the House of Representatives computer network has abruptly left the country and gone to Pakistan, where her family has significant assets and VIP-level protection, a relative and others told The Daily Caller News Foundation’s Investigative Group.

Hina Alvi, her husband Imran Awan, and his brothers Abid and Jamal werehighly paid shared IT administrators working for multiple House Democrats until their access to congressional IT systems was terminated Feb. 2 as a result of the investigation. Capitol Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing, but no arrests have been reported in the case.

The Awans are “accused of stealing equipment from members’ offices without their knowledge and committing serious, potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network,” according to Politico. Many of the Democrats who employed the Awans are members of the House Committee on Homeland Security, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Geert Wilders on Trump speech: ‘Islam is the problem’

Warns West must 'face the truth' about 'evil ideology' or perish

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. —
With members of his permanent security detail scanning the perimeter of a patio cast in the glow of a Hollywood Hills sunset, Geert Wilders explained why he believes the definition of the global threat articulated by President Trump in his historic speech Sunday in Saudi Arabia is off the mark.

As the Dutch politician spoke to WND before addressing the American Freedom Alliance’s annual Heroes of Conscience dinner here Sunday night, it wasn’t hard to imagine why he has been under constant protection, courtesy of his government, since November 2004, when two North African Muslims were accused of planning to murder him.

“Islam is the problem,” said Wilders, the leader of the Party for Freedom, now the country’s second largest in Parliament.

“We can only deal with [the threat] if we first face the truth, [which] might not be too politically correct, but still is the truth, and that is that Islam — and not Islamism or radical Islam, but Islam — is an evil ideology like communism or fascism that has no place in a free society,” he told WND.

“And at the end of the day it will replace us, and we will lose our freedom,” he said.

The West, Wilders emphasized, is “faced today with an existential problem.”

“If we don’t act today, we cease to exist in the future.”

CHARLIE DANIELS: WE NEED 1000 PAUL REVERES, BECAUSE WE AREN’T GOING TO ALLOW THE RADICAL LEFT TO STEAL OUR COUNTRY FROM US

If America is going to survive, it is time for this generation of Americans to take a stand

Edmund Burke once said that “all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”, and if we sit back and do nothing now the radical left is going to win in America.

In a new documentary entitled “Revelation: Dawn Of Global Government”, country music legend Charlie Daniels is calling for “1000 Paul Reveres” to rise up and sound the alarm in this country. Our constitutional republic is under serious attack from forces that are intent on transforming the United States into a fundamentally different nation than our forefathers intended. Today we know them as “progressives”, “liberals” and “Democrats”, but in the old days they were known as “socialists”, “communists” and “Marxists”. In the film, Charlie simply refers to them as “scumbags”. So many brave Americans before us have bled and died for the cause of freedom and liberty, and there is no way that we are going to allow the radical left to take it away from us now.

And make no mistake – the leftists clearly view this struggle for our country as a war. Their street protests have become increasingly violent in recent years, and it has gotten to the point where Republican members of Congress are actually fearing for their physical safety when they go back to their districts…

Justice Department budget plan seeks to force 'sanctuary cities' to enforce immigration laws

The Justice Department is pushing as a part of its budget proposal to change federal law so that local jurisdictions can be forced to detain suspected illegal immigrants upon request.

The move would give the administration far more leeway to make good on its promise to crack down on "sanctuary cities" - although it would surely meet resistance from some local law enforcement agencies that do not want their officers used to enforce immigration law.

"Having states and local jurisdictions enforce federal immigration law terrorizes immigrant communities and makes the whole community less, not more, safe, as police chiefs around the country recognize," said Lee Gelernt, deputy director of the ACLU's national Immigrants' Rights Project.

Lawsuit Targets Potential Cancer Threat In The South's Farming Communities

More than 800 cancer patients nationwide are involved in a class-action lawsuit that accuses the chemical giant Monsanto of failing to adequately warn them about a possible link between their disease and glyphosate, the key ingredient in its enormously popular Roundup herbicide.

The lawsuit was sparked by a 2015 determination by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) that glyphosate was a probable carcinogen, with research tying it to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, in humans. The IARC also found "convincing evidence" that glyphosate can cause cancer in laboratory animals, while other studies it reviewed found the chemical damages human DNA.

Monsanto maintains that glyphosate is safe, as industry-funded studies have found. But the class-action lawsuit has unearthed documents that cast doubt on its safety -- and on the handling of its potential risks by the US Environmental Protection Agency. As the New York Times reported earlier this year:

Expert: Mandatory E-Verify ‘Is Coming’

Nationwide mandatory E-Verify, which would weed out the vast majority of American businesses hiring illegal aliens, may be coming sooner than expected.

President of the E-Verify Employer Agent Alliance David Fowler told GCN that E-Verify “is coming” because of expansion efforts by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and President Donald Trump.

“Mandatory E-Verify appears to be something that is coming,” Fowler told GCN. “With the new administration in, I think they’re going to push for this.”

E-Verify is a hiring tool where employers must fill out I-9 forms for each employee they hire in order to ensure that the employee is legally allowed to work in the U.S. Illegal immigrants are not permitted to work in the country.

In states which mandate E-Verify already, a study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) found that there were fewer jobless Americans, as they did not have to compete for work against cheaper, illegal immigrant job-seekers.

Trump Budget: ‘A New Foundation for American Greatness’

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Trump Administration released it’s fiscal year 2018 budget entitled “A New Foundation for American Greatness” on Tuesday morning which prioritizes money for defense, border security, law enforcement, veterans and school choice.

Documents previewed on Monday included a summary of the plan.

One document entitled “A New Foundation for a Balanced Budget” stated that this budget “will reverse the damaging trends from previous administrations and restore the American Dream.” It asserts that under this budget, by 2027 “publicly held debt will be reduced to less than 60 percent of GDP, the lowest level since 2010, when the economic policies of the last Administration took effect.”

Mulvaney reinforced this in a Monday budget preview briefing. He said that the budget will balance in 10 years under this plan, “the concept we put in place is a general, what we call the two-penny plan, which is that every single year we see those reduced by two cents on the dollar, every single year.”

The document emphasizes that there are no cuts to core Social Security benefits and no cuts to Medicare.

BREAKING: Democrats PUSH To Make Sure Teachers CANNOT Shoot Back

Wow… there’s a never ending stream of asshats busy these days in California. I give you another royal douche bag out of Sacramento… Democrat Assemblyman Kevin McCarty. He’s pushing a bill that would mandate all teachers be unarmed and unable to shoot back if they are attacked. Mind you… there has never been an incident with an armed teacher. Just the bad guys who kill kids because the teachers aren’t armed. AB 424 repeals the authority given administrators to allow teachers to carry concealed weapons on campus. There are five school districts in California that have approved the arming of teachers. Those are the sane ones.

Not only have armed teachers done nothing wrong… EVER… in California, there have been no incidents on any campus with concealed carry permit holders. John Loft correctly points out that California is the first state in 40 years to ban concealed carry on school grounds. The false argument here is that an attacker will simply take a gun away from a teacher and use it. Which is just stupid. That has never happened either. On all K-12 grounds where concealed carry has been approved, there has only ever been one accidental discharge, resulting in a very minor injury.

Melania Trump: Breakout Star of Trump’s First Foreign Trip

First Lady Melania Trump has won rave reviews from the foreign press — and even the American press — as she accompanies President Donald Trump on his first foreign trip.

The visit, which has taken President Trump to Saudi Arabia and Israel thus far, and which will conclude with a stop at the Vatican on Tuesday, is the first foreign trip of the administration. It is also one of the first major public events for the First Lady, who has kept a low profile thus far.

Yet she made her mark immediately in Saudi Arabia, descending Air Force One in a flowing black pantsuit and golden belt that was hailed by the local press as “classy and conservative,” even though both she and Ivanka Trump declined to cover their faces in deference to local custom.

The Los Angeles Times noted Melania Trump’s “newsmaking style,” quoting a local television host who described her outfit as a “a really considerate gesture.”

Even the British press was impressed, gushing later in the day: “Melania Trump dazzles in purple Reem Acra gown for first evening in Saudi Arabia.”

WHAT! Al Sharpton Explains Why Hillary Clinton Lost To Trump – He Actually Makes SENSE!

I can’t stand Al Sharpton. He’s a corrupt race baiter, who lacks a soul and any ethics whatsoever. But even Sharpton understands why Hillary Clinton lost the election last November to Donald Trump… and he’s just bluntly stated it for BuzzFeed. What he says makes a lot of logical sense. Sharpton says that Clinton lost because she ignored her base of supporters. She wouldn’t even meet with black leaders. If she had worked with black communities and mobilized their leaders, she would have won states she lost by a narrow margin and would probably be President today. Shudder… cringe. Thank God for divine providence.

Donald Trump won because he went and talked and worked with blue collar workers. He appealed to the Forgotten Man… the working man. Hillary Clinton couldn’t be bothered and being an elitist snob cost her the election. She felt that simply being a Democrat and being Hillary Clinton would get her elected. It was owed to her. That’s not the way it works. Bill Clinton was adored by the left and that is why he was elected… twice. Obama was adored in a different way by the left and was elected twice. Hillary was hated by both sides and is still sniveling over predictably losing.

Officers Garrett Miller and Edward Nero face five days suspension without pay, sources said. Officer William Porter faces no punishment, sources said.

The five facing administrative violations can challenge the findings of the internal investigation by requesting a disciplinary trial board. Such a proceeding would be months away, but under a new state law, would be public.

The trial board process can take six months or more.

Breastfeeding Isn’t Natural? IS THIS WOMAN FOR REAL??

Saying that breastfeeding is natural is unethical? UNETHICAL? So the ‘geniuses’ at pediatrics.aappublications.org are supporting a feminist philosophy that it is wrong to promote motherhood as being a female thing. Breastfeeding has been getting in the way of that philosophy because only women can actually breastfeed. BUT Jessica Martucci, Anne Barnhill have come up with a way to shame people for putting the role of nurturer on the mom.

Tucker Carlson interviewed, feminist, Cathy Areu of Catalina Magazine about whether it’s appropriate to call breastfeeding “natural.” She sounded like a lunatic as she explained how one of the most natural things in all of nature isn’t “natural”. Here is what was published to demean the role of mother and to take away her natural right as nurturer:

“Coupling nature with motherhood… can inadvertently support biologically deterministic arguments about the roles of men and women in the family (for example, that women should be the primary caretaker,” the study says.

The study notes that in recent years, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the World Health Organization, and several state departments of health have all promoted breastfeeding over bottle-feeding, using the term “natural.”

AP Hires Leftist Activist to Sneak Into Closed GOP Event to Attack KellyAnne

A freelancer for the Associated Press has drawn the ire of the GOP in New Hampshire after working her way into a “closed press” fundraiser last week and then falsely reporting on the event–all after it turns out that the so-called “reporter” is actually a hardcore leftwing activist.

Following the fundraiser, the Associated Press published a short story without a byline that was “grossly inaccurate,” NHGOP adviser Patrick Hynes told local television outlet WMUR-9.

“President Donald Trump’s counselor Kellyanne Conway has told supporters in New Hampshire they should ‘just ignore’ his critics and the incessant chatter about the scandals dogging him,” the “reporter,” later learned to be Melanie Plenda, wrote for the AP.

The report also said about 150 attended, and attendees were “largely friendly” to Conway, but “some people in attendance withheld applause when Conway let loose with snarky comments about Democrat Hillary Clinton.”

“The Associated Press in New Hampshire appears to be engaged in leftwing activism rather than journalism,” Hynes told Breitbart News. “And Melanie Plenda is a leftwing activist not a journalist.”

“They conspired to sneak this leftwing activist into an event for which they were not credentialed and deliberately misreported on the attendance and the enthusiasm with which Kellyanne Conway was greeted,” Hynes said.

Her claim? This tragedy has sexism written all over it.

WICOMICO COUNTY 2017 TAX SALE

Salisbury, MD ... The Wicomico County 2017 Tax Sale is scheduled for Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10:00 AM in Room 301 of the Government Office Building located at 125 North Division Street in Salisbury.

The County made the decision to forego a tax sale last year, exercising an option permitted by State Law. Instead, the County chose to inform citizens who were struggling to pay their taxes that they could participate in a payment plan. Citizens were also informed them of the homeowner's tax credit which is a potential option for tax relief. A large number of taxpayers did not know about these options to pay their taxes in partial payments or of the tax credits offered by State Department of Assessments and Taxation. By working with citizens, instead of sending their properties to tax sale, the County was able to bring in outstanding revenue while saving citizens the cost of the auction advertising and legal fees.

By State Law, the County must have a tax sale every two years at minimum. For the 2017 Tax Sale, the County chose to advertise in The Daily Record which fulfilled the obligation of the State Code. By making a change in advertising this tax sale, taxpayers were saved approximately $60,000 both this year and last. The properties for sale can also be found on the County's website atwww.wicomicocounty.org>. Any questions regarding the 2017 Tax Sale can be directed to the Finance Department at 410-548-5840.

Gingrich: World Leaders Respect Trump; Media 'Pygmies' Don't

It's "ironic" to watch world leaders in Israel and Saudi Arabia treating President Donald Trump with "enormous respect" while the "pygmies" in the media treat him with contempt, and the president and his administration should take a tougher stance against them, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday.

"The reporters are pygmies, they're little midgets," Gingrich told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "They spent their lifetime watching other people do real things."

Further, Gingrich said, the Trump administration should put out a new rule when it comes to the media.

Rep. Harris: The President’s Budget Offers Government Reform and Economic Growth

WASHINGTON, DC: On May 23, the White House released President Trump’s budget proposal for the 2018 fiscal year. Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) issued the following statement in response to this proposal:

“President Trump’s proposed budget for the 2018 fiscal year will balance the budget over the course of ten years, something that the previous administration failed to propose every year of its two terms. I am pleased to see welfare reform included in the President’s proposal, as well. Work requirements for able-bodied Americans receiving government assistance help elevate people out of poverty and will root out much of the waste, fraud, and abuse currently straining the nation’s welfare programs. President Trump’s business-oriented perspective is creating responsible government reform that will lead to economic growth.”

Breaking News: Pope Francis welcomed President Trump to the Vatican for a meeting between two leaders with starkly different views of the world

Shortly after 8 a.m., under a crystalline blue sky, the president’s motorcade rolled into the courtyard of the Apostolic Palace, where an honor guard of ostrich-plumed Swiss Guards saluted as Mr. Trump and his wife, Melania, stepped out of an armored limousine.

A few minutes before Mr. Trump’s arrival, the pope arrived at the Apostolic Palace in a blue Ford Focus. He stepped out of the car and walked into a side entrance.

For the president, who arrived in Rome after stops in Saudi Arabia and Israel, the audience in the Vatican caps a tour of the ancestral homes of three of the world’s great monotheistic religions. For the pope, who recently made his own landmark visit to Egypt, it was a chance to welcome a second American leader, after President Barack Obama paid his respects in 2014.

A MALE FAIRY TALE

Once upon a time, a Prince asked a beautiful Princess,

"Will you marry me?"
The Princess immediately said, "No!"
And the Prince lived happily ever after, and
rode motorcycles and dated thin, long-legged,
full-breasted women, and hunted and fished
and
raced cars, and went to titty bars and
dated ladies half his age

and
drank whiskey, beer, and Captain Morgan, and
never heard bitching

and
never paid child support or alimony, and
dated cheerleaders and
kept his house and guns, and ate spam and
potato chips and beans, and
blew enormous farts, and
never got cheated on while he was at work,

and
all his friends and family thought
he was friggin' cool as hell,

and
he had tons of money in the bank, and
left the toilet seat up.
The End.
