Missing Persons, Not Missing.

On Sunday we received a message from the MSM asking for help on a missing woman and daughter from Berlin. It turns out, today, the State Police let everyone know they weren't missing at all. They simply had moved out of state. Case closed.

Another Local Blogger Spreads The Mayor Barrie Tilghman Love

Richard, (the Eastern Shores version of Richard Simmons) had the following to say about Barrie Tilghman's State of the City Address. Please excuse the curse words, it is what it is. After you read these bits and piece from their Post, don't you have to wonder why she's suing me for defamation, yet she leaves everyone else alone? Not that I blame Little Richard because I happen to firmly agree with his point of view on this one. Remember Mayor, I didn't write it. But I thunk it!

Drunken Bitch Salisbury Mayor Barrie Tilghman Blames Everyone Except Herself For Salisbury Maryland Downtown’s Demise. Popular Website Gives One Sided Biased Barrie Tilghman Friendly News

After all these years, mainstream shock media in the form of a popular website has mistakenly given a nationwide platform to Salisbury Mayor Barrie Tilghman’s excuses for willfully and maliciously destroying Salisbury, Maryland’s downtown:

One of the oldest tricks in psychology is to blame others when the blame rests solely with yourself. It is common banter in grammar school where one child calls another child mean and the response is, “No, you’re mean”.

Pride, gluttony, and frequent nips from a brown bagged 40 ounce glass container have reduced Barrie Tilghman to a willful, hateful, and altogether confused female: A drunken bitch, if you will, and pardon us for saying that.

The sad reality is that when bloated red-faced alcoholic Mayor Barrie Tilghman is removed from office to finish her twilight years in drunken stupor, the next mayor will be as ignorant and incompetent as she and the one before her was.

The rallying cry of “Change! Change!” is nothing more than false hopes shouted by the dumbfounded.

The Daily Times Blows It Again

Armwood, a 28-year-old black farmhand cast as "dim-witted" and harmless, was snatched from his Princess Anne jail cell by a white mob, lynched and burned in the heart of town. He had admitted snatching the purse of a 72-year-old white woman and was in jail awaiting trial. Now, African-Americans who can recall a black community powerless and quiet after the 1933 hanging that went unpunished want the Armwood name etched into local black history.

Backinberlin Said......

"The woman this animal attacked was my wife's great-grandmother. This animal pulled her in the woods and brutally raped, beat, and bit chunks out of her breasts. Mrs. Denston died 2 days later from pneumonia after he left her for dead, lying in the woods. She was 72 years old. Her son, a Pennsylvania State Trooper, came down here and formed the lynch mob. The Daily Times is very irresponsible for printing this story in this manner. To make this animal a victim is shameless. He deserved what he got."

The Daily Times wrote THIS ARTICLE today and from the looks of the comments, people aren't too happy about it.

They went on to say, "For the museum discussion, Dennis invited Armwood's distant relatives, history buffs and community members who were alive at the time to recall his life and suggest ways to preserve his name."

I guess the Daily Times will do anything to sell a paper any more. This was a tragic event either way but it's not being told as such, not by them anyway. And people go ragging on us, (Mayor Tilghman) for being a nasty Blog! Their reporting today is now more like, he said, she said.

Hey Mayor Tilghman, SHUT UP, WILL YA!

Citizens, Bloggers, Others That Feel Our Pain are reaching out to Salisbury News from all across America, they have a Barrie Tilghman Too! While I appreciate all the traffic, e-mail phone calls and support, PLEASE e-mail me rather than calling me, respectfully. I truly rely on my cell phone to get hot tips and I have had to leave my cell plugged in almost the entire day because of so many calls. I'd be happy to take your calls in a day or two after things calm down and truly, I thank you for so much support. This is just unbelievable!

I have a few samples of just some of the people who have been sending me messages and forgive me if your e-mail isn't Posted. I've had probably 100,000 e-mail messages already today and I am NOT going back through them to see which is which. Even my e-mail server people are complaining. Anyhow, thank you for the support, the calls and visiting. It has been a very interesting, yet draining day. Sorry if it took so long to get your comments up. Hopefully now you can understand.

Oh, Barrie, PLEASE do NOT say anything more about Bloggers!

Hi,

My name is Chad and I just happened to come across an article about Mayor Tilghman denouncing the evil bloggers in salisbury. I thought this was hilarious and I'm glad to know that there are some folks there commenting on the state of affairs. I grew up in Salisbury but am now living in Raleigh, NC. I was especially interested because I'm part of blogging team here that runs http://www.newraleigh.com/

I just wanted to write to say that I am glad to see some independent writing going on in salisbury... I'm sure a lot of people appreciate your analysis and commentary. It was nice to see your photos of downtown as well in the "Empty Hopes" article. It looks the same as when I grew up there. That was my grandfather's law office in the photo fourth from the bottom. My dad and I used to talk about the difficulties with reviving the downtown area... I hope the potential of downtown can be realized some day. Congrats on the national attention.

I wanted to first say THANK YOU. I now feel like we in Quincy, Il aren't alone . We first started with our blogs Quincypundit and Quincy City Desk then I realized that I could do this for real and founded http://www.quincynews.org/ http://www.quincynews.org/blogs/jenkins-royko-grantland/monday-night-city-council-post-game.html Our Mayor made threats to my journalist. Keep up the good work

Oh here is PURE corrupt! http://www.quincynews.org/local-news/fbi-sends-city-server-hacker-evidence-to-quantico.html The City's I.T. Director is a convicted Computer Crimes Thief . Guess what he still has his $81,000 a year job . No audits , just swept under the rug

Nothing is more likely to get 'em to lose it a bit, than pointing out a few blemishes in the way a local government is being run. We've got a website focused on fixing a speeding problem on our street . . . the South Franklin Street Project up here in New Jersey.Taking on the City with a blog allows you to supplement or even go right around the local newspapers. These days they can be a bit too focused on their dwindling subscription revenues, and therefore afraid of risking sources like "legal advertisements" by being critical of local government.

This story just made Drudge:

Mayor Tilghman, Empty Hopes, Empty Promises & Empty Dreams

The above message comes directly from Mayor Tilghman's State of the City speech.

Ladies & Gentlemen, the photos above are but a very small example of what the Downtown Salisbury area represents. There are many more locations than I can publish here closed and empty and this is only the immediate Downtown area.

When a Forum is created and the ONLY questions being asked to each candidate is, what will you do to revitalize our Downtown, this is bad. Two major stores will be closing in the very near future on the Downtown Plaza, Nancy N. and Head Over Heels will be closing their doors for various reasons. Nancy N. will relocate onto Rt. 13 where the Wicker Outlet used to be. Head Over Heels will simply close their doors, period.

Mayor Tilghman was recently on NPR Radio stating that the reason the Downtown has failed is because of the Blogs. Now look, it's bad enough this Mayor quit her job right in the middle of the worst economy this Country has ever seen but to blame her failures on Salisbury News, that's just ridiculous! The only thing the Blogs did was to expose the FACT that absolutely NOTHING was being done to help the Downtown area.

How the Daily Times Editorial Staff can praise this woman for her 12 years of service is so far beyond my scope of understanding it isn't funny. But that's what makes having a second opinion such a great asset to this community.

In Mayor Tilghmans State of the City Address she went after Bob Taylor and Salisbury News. She mentioned how we cost the City some $30,000.00 in expenses, yet she never mentions what it cost the citizens financially, God forbid we disagree with this woman or her Administration. I have personally spent more than $160,000.00 in legal fees alone fighting the City of Salisbury. More importantly, this Mayor is actually suing a taxpayer, (me) who has purchased a building on the Downtown Plaza and offered to pay $250,000.00 cash for the old Fire Station 16. Look at what she did most recently to George Chevallier. She became so angry with him, instead of mailing a letter to his home, in anger she got in her car, (I'll assume) and drove to his property and knocked on his door and handed it to him in anger.

In a rage, the Mayor and her Daughter had been at a local Bar watching PAC14 and became so angry the actually drove back to the GOB, created an verbal argument with Rachel Polk and her Daughter physically assaulted an ELECTED OFFICIAL to the point they had to hire an attorney and feared for their lives, not knowing just what this Mayor and followers were capable of. How about her sending the FBI to Bill Duvall's home. Linda Kent comes to mind and "The Dirty Dozen." Another case where Citizens had to hire lawyers to represent them and WIN while the Mayor used City Funds to pay the legal fees to represent the Old Mall Owners. I could go on and on about ALL of the people Mayor Tilghman has gone after, yet she wants to go public and make it sound like she's the victim?

Mayor Barrie Tilghman has driven the City of Salisbury so deep in debt it may never recover. One thing is for sure, it will be the taxpayers that will foot the bill of more than $70,000,000.00 of debt too, not the Mayor. Did she bring in new businesses to help pay for that debt, obviously not from the pictures above. Drive down Rt. 13 and look at all the For Sale and For Rent signs! Take some additional time and go into the Industrial Parks and look at what's available. Don't forget people like myself who invested big money into real estate in the City and the Micro Brewery, they had to relocate to Delmar, DE. because of her Impact Fees. They'll waive those fees for DEVELOPERS who will make a big buck but they refuse to do so for the average Joe out there.

Now don't think Gary Comegys hasn't played a HUGE role in this over the years. As I have shown with photos time and time again the trash on the Downtown Plaza. Remember, he and Mike Dunn brought it up 2 1/2 years ago in a Council Meeting, yet nothing was done about it. They had the power in the past 2 1/2 years to take care of it and they have done NOTHING! How is this the fault of Salisbury News?

Would Barie Tilghman still be running for Office if there never was a Blog or Salisbury News? You better believe she would. She flip flops around like a bouncing ball. She tells the Media, my retirement has nothing to do with the Blogs. Yet she has a State of the City Address and blames the Blogs. She goes on NPR and says all of her major failures were caused by the Blogs. Mayor Tilghman, you need to look into a mirror. You need to look at the photos from the Red Cross Luncheon and recognize that while it may make you feel better sitting in front of a microphone on radio and talking to the Public, most are sick and tired of your BS. Most are sick and tired of you blaming us. You need to understand what MAYOR really means. It means that you are a public official. When you took the job, it didn't mean you are the power of a City and everyone WILL listen to you and follow your lead. This is AMERICA, not a Socialist country. You need to respect our freedom of speech. We are allowed to challenge your authority in an appropriate way and that's what Salisbury News is all about. Bloggers are not a bad thing Barrie Tilghman, Chief See and Chief Webster.

Take a good hard look at the Salvation Army for example. I created an article about them, tearing them a new one because they brought Kenny Townsend and other work release criminals to man their buckets. They didn't come back saying, damn that Joe Albero. They came back and said, do you have any better ideas? Hence a RECORD year in the worst economy this Country has ever seen raising almost $500,000.00!

Everyone knows I had a major problem with the Wicomico Humane Society. Linda Lugo didn't go to the Press and denounce the Blogs. Linda Lugo embraced Joe Albero, face to face, one on one and TOGETHER, (by the grace of God and our readers) they cannot keep animals in that facility and even had the ability to reach out most recently to the National SPCA and bring back dogs from Kentucky BECAUSE THEY COULD.

I made these same offers to the Salisbury Zoo numerous times and the Mayor knows this. I offered, (well before my Wife and I had problems with the Zoo) to become a Zoo Commission Member and help in the Marketing of the Salisbury Zoo.

Barrie Tilghman has been one of the very few that simply took Joe Albero as a hater and she took every opportunity she could to bash me and my wife over the past 4+ years. I have been arrested for trespassing on public property, which is actually impossible to do, being I had never been told I had to stay off the grounds. The Mayor was instrumental in spitefully coming after me for perjury, which was an honest mistake and the Judge clearly recognized that as well as the States Attorney. Nevertheless, God Forbid you go against the grain with this woman, she'll use everything she has, power wise to crush you. Her main goal, to discredit Joe Albero in any way she possibly could, yet stay in the background. Think about it Folks. Do you think when someone is doing a TAX FREE EXCHANGE and there's NO TAXES whatsoever from this 1031 Tax Exchange, that I could have CHEATED on my taxes????? There were NO TAXES OWED! Yet I was dragged through the mud and had to pay out $12,000.00 in legal fees just to defend a document the attorney should have never placed in the paperwork. It was a commercial sale and a commercial purchase, yet they had a residential form in the documents. The Judge clearly saw what had gone wrong. The Judge asked very specific questions to the States Attorney. Did Mr. Albero file his taxes as a Delaware resident? Yes. Did Mr. Albero file BEFORE anyone knew there would be charges filed against him? YES! So he never cheated on his taxes, correct? NO! DUH! HELLO! Now I mention all of this because I want to also mention the former Sheriff of Wicomico County, Hunter Nelms. You see, Hunter often disagreed with Mayor Tilghman and Chief Webster and although the Drill Academy is NOT within their jurisdiction, they went to the FBI and filed yet another complaint against him and wasted CITY money to put him through a second Grand Jury Hearing/Trial. Carolyn Hall comes to mind as well, should many of you recall that name and situation.

So you see Folks, as a Blogger, I have done everything I can to better the City of Salisbury. I have spent the past 3 or 4 years of my life dedicated to exposing what I felt was right and or wrong. I have even offered my professional services to the City as a Board Member of the Salisbury Zoo but when I saw Mayor Tilghman cover up all the animal deaths and then fire my Wife simply because she exposed the truth, that was enough for me. When I saw her go after Larry Dodd, (SFD) as a citizen speaking his peace at a Council Meeting, I saw enough. When I saw the Administration go after Aaron Hudson and Brian Beavers of the SPD simply because they were kind enough to say hello to me, yet they felt these people were all my inside scoop people, I had enough.

They say there are three sides to every story. His, Hers and the truth, well, this is my side of the story. I let the photos speak for themselves. I speak the truth with NO EXCUSES. I put my name on every Post and Comment. Now some may not like what I have stated. Some may disagree with what I have stated. You have every right to counter what I have Posted here. Please show me/us ribbon cuttings at each one of these locations and or other locations. The last big ribbon cutting I can remember in the City was years ago at the ERA Martin & Associates. Oh, there was the Edible Arrangements too. I never went to the one at Starbucks but they too will be closing their door in the near future.

My point is, I have provided a FREE service to this community. It has cost me financially like you just wouldn't believe. Imagine being ONE individual new to the area who has gone up against a Mayor that has said nothing nice about me the entire time. Every single person has had a BAD impression of Joe Albero because the Mayor says I'm a bad guy. I must be, I'm getting sued by the Mayor, right? Well take a look at where things have progressed to this date. First we were the nasty Bloggers. Then we became the Dirty Dozen. Now I'M being invited to Red Cross Events as a Celebrity Waiter while the Mayor's Table sits empty and she storms out in anger.

I can look in my mirror every day Mayor Tilghman and know I have provided a service to this community far more rewarding than you have ever done. You chose to fight me and I have chosen to fight back. You are not running for re-election because of one reason, exposure from Salisbury News. You denounced the Blogs and even went on television begging people to stay away from those nasty Bloggers. How's it working for you Mayor Tilghman?

Ladies & Gentlemen, vote for Jim Ireton if you want to see these For Rent and For Sale signs go away. Vote for Gary Comegys if you want more of the same. Crime is so out of control, businesses will not come here while we're the 10th Most Dangerous City (per capita) in America. Take your City back and vote for Jim. The Daily Times will do anything to get Gary Comegys elected but please remember, Gary has been on the City Council for at least 6 years. How's it working for you Folks? How's that tax increase feel? How's the water & sewer rate increases feel? Do you like those pot holes everywhere you go in Salisbury? When's the last time you saw your street being paved????? Are you happy about the WWTP spills into the River? Do YOU like the $10,000,000.00 Fire Palace? How about that $860,000.00 Fire Boat?

While Salisbury News used to be the in your face kind of reporting years ago, we've toned it down to a level I believe everyone can accept. Now Gary Comegys, Louise Smith and even other Department Heads have gone to the Anti Albero Blogs and have fed them inside information in the attempt to bash Joe Albero and Salisbury News. That is why I asked the entire Council on PAC 14 if they denounced the Blogs any more? They have their own cheerleader doing their nasty work and I can't wait to connect the dots once they deliver me my answer. Who wants to bet they don't deliver the answer until AFTER the election? That's OK, we know who's doing what.

In closing, it's not the Blogs that have caused such turmoil in Salisbury. The City is NOT "under siege", as the Mayor was quoted as saying. I personally think the Mayor made a huge mistake by blaming everyone else for such failures within the City. Again, remember, it was the Mayor who stated the Blogs had nothing to do with her decision to run again. Need I say more?

At this time it is an ongoing investigation so I cannot expose the entire story. The MSP, WBI, WCSO & Salisbury Police are working together to try to apprehend the suspect/suspects.

I can tell you that the MSP has in fact confirmed there was a shooting and further details will be forthcoming.

Comegys and Ireton Answer the Hard Questions?

I wasn't going to bother with the looong pieces in Sunday's Daily Times about Salisbury Mayoral candidates Gary Comegys and Jim Ireton.  I think the objective reader would have to admit that Comegys came off a bit better than Ireton; while the objective vote would admit that Ireton remains the better candidate.  While the two pieces weren't quite fair, they pass for great journalism at the Daily Times.

However, when the unofficial blog of the Barrie Comegys campaign calls the Comegys press release "real journalism" I simply had to respond.  Rarely has "real journalism" appeared within the pages of the Daily Times.  To the best of my knowledge it has NEVER appeared in any piece regarding the Barrie Comegys team.  It certainly has never appeared in a piece written since reporter Laura D'Alessandro began covering the Barrie Comegys administration.

I Just Had To Post This Comment

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Mayor Tilghman, Empty Hopes, Empty Promises & Empt...":

wow! I had no idea what a super, all-powerful blog this is!! SBYNEWS should come with the surgeon general's warning because apparently, once you've read it, you are unconsciously driven to leave your homes and commit crimes all over Salisbury... become a prostitute, sell drugs, hold up a Wendy's, shoot people at ATMs, spray paint the downtown plaza, go out of business, cause sewage leaks, spend millions of taxpayer dollars on sensless equipment and buildings, and/or steal from the county landfill. Seriously, folks... this is dangerous, so be careful. Anyway, I better go... all of a sudden these "malicious bloggers" have made me decide to go pick up my daughter so we can throw punches at a city council member.

Easton, MD Man Arrested In Home Improvement Fraud Case

Rehoboth Beach – The Delaware State Police have arrested a 30-year-old Easton, Maryland resident for fraud after he failed to honor a home improvement contract with a 60-year-old Rehoboth Beach resident.

The investigation revealed John D. Barto, of Barto Property Management, agreed to install a vinyl fence at a home on Buttermilk Road in Rehoboth Beach in August of ’08 for the sum of $2820.00. The victim paid Mr. Barto a $1400.00 down payment with the expectation the work would be completed several weeks after signing the contract.

After not hearing from the business or Mr. Barto for several weeks the victim inquired as to what the problem was and learned Barto’s business apparently closed. Several attempts to contact Barto by the victim were unsuccessful. In November of ‘08, police contacted Barto to inquire as to what the problem was when he informed them he could not complete the job and that he would return the victims money.

As of Friday, March 13, 2009 Barto has not returned the money to the victim. Consequently, he was arrested on the 13th for the following felony offenses: Home Improvement Fraud and Theft by False Pretense. He was released on a $1500.00 unsecured bail.

Here's part of what they had to say:

Salisbury mayor: Malicious blogs endangering city
Associated Press
March 13, 2009

SALISBURY — In her final State of the City address, Salisbury Mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman warned residents of what she sees as a great danger to the city: malicious bloggers.

Tilghman said in her address Thursday that over the last five years, the presence of a small group of suspicious, mean-spirited people focused on the negative has grown, endangering the city's vitality.

Huh?

I had an email come in that just went right over my head. Is the sender of this on to something or just a plain old ranting raving lunatic? Help me decide. Here is the email:

Don't worry, Obama will get a world war started so we can have economic prosperity. Just like FDR.

FDR cut off the sale of oil and scrap metal to the Japanese and then moved the Pacific Fleet from San Diego to Pearl Harbor to give the Japs a nice, juicy target.

We had broken the Japanese codes so we made sure the aircraft carriers were not in port when they attacked.

And how about the Neutrality Laws? FDR violated everyone of them. He had the US Navy fighting the German U boats in the Atlantic six months before Pearl Harbor.

He did everything he could to provoke Germany and Japan so we could get in the war.

He should be remembered as a warmonger who killed 400,000 Americans for nothing.

I know you history buffs and experts are out there reading so please help us make sense of this.

WHAT EXACTLY DID PAUL WILBER TELL GARY COMEGYS?

Yesterday’s Daily Times presented Mr. Comegys’ version of the rezoning of the old Salisbury Mall several years ago that was struck down as unlawful by the Circuit Court. He now claims that when he voted for the rezoning, “based on the advice of the City’s attorney” he was “unaware” that it could be challenged. This very ambiguous comment allows for a couple different readings.

One is that the City Attorney advised Comegys that the rezoning could not be challenged by appeal. But, any attorney will tell you that special rezoning of a single property can be appealed, so it’s hard to believe that Paul Wilber told Comegys that the opponents who were threatening to appeal could not do so. However, Comegys may have completely misunderstood what Wilber actually said to him.

Most likely, Wilber advised him that an appeal would not be successful because the rezoning was proper, despite the warnings to the contrary, which included a memorandum by his assistant who felt that it was questionable. At one meeting, Wilber said the he had found some “cases” that supported his opinion that the rezoning was proper.

The Council majority, led by the Dream Team (Comegys, Cathcart and Dunn) flatly disregarded the warnings and position of the opponents, who appealed the rezoning action to the Circuit Court, which struck it down. Comegys tries to make it appear that the Court’s decision was based on a bizarre “verbiage technicality” and “not on the action itself” – he must be a legal expert as well as an “engineer,” at least in his mind.

Don’t fall for this bubba-speak, the Court ruled that the rezoning “action” was not lawful – that’s why it was struck down. Thus, Comegys and his cohorts on the Council caused the City to run up a big bill for Wilber’s legal services, before and after the rezoning, and also delayed redevelopment of the mall site for over a year by their illegal “action.”

Once again, Comegys falls flat on his face while trying to smear lipstick on a pig of his making – whatever Mr. Wilber may have told him.

States Warn Government To Back Off Of States And Citizens

Most Americans have not heard about what is going on between the Federal Government and The individual States of the United States. The States are beginning to claim their sovereignty from the Federal Government as contained in the ninth and tenth amendments to the Constitution of The United States.

Several States have already submitted Resolutions to the House of Representatives, and several other States are drafting Resolutions as we speak. The States are claiming that the Federal Government has overstepped their Constitutional bounds.

Many of the Resolutions are directed toward Barack Obama. The Resolutions clearly point out the issues that they feel the Government has, or are preparing to violate. Among the issues mentioned are;

The Government can not limit freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, if it does they are altogether void, and of no force.

The Federal Government can not order martial law

An American can not be imprisoned and held without trial

The infringements on the right to keep and bear arms by the Government is a violation of the Constitution, and void.

This was copied and pasted from a sight called Hubpages. This is scary. Everyone should be watching what goes on between the Fed and the States as if your life depends on it. The link below will take you to the sight that provides information the Main Stream Media seems unwilling to publish. Someone has to have the guts to get the word out. The article includes several of the States official resolutions Declaring Sovereignty under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution then it issues the following notice:

Pay close attention to the wording from New Hampshire, toward the end of the declaration; in no uncertain terms, they warn the Federal Government that if they cross the Constitutional line in violating the freedoms of the people, the result will be the the transfer of power to the States. Then they talk about the collective States forming a new Government. Here's the link:

http://hubpages.com/hub/civilwar

I must say that I was shocked to see how widespread the civilian uneasiness is. As well as how prepared the govt. is to use the military and police against the citizens.

$181 Million Lotto Winner!!!!!!

Can you believe it? This guy wins $181 million in the lottery on a Wednesday, and then finds the love of his life just 2 days later.

Talk about LUCK!!!!

Talk About Hitting The Nail On The Head

"Really. I can tell you where the outrage is. The outrage is here, in this middle-aged, well-educated, upper-middle class woman. The outrage is here, but I have no representation, no voice. The outrage is here, but no one is listening for who am I?

I am not a billionaire like George Soros that can fund an entire political movement.

I am not a celebrity like Barbra Streisand that can garner the attention of the press to promote political candidates.

I am not a film maker like Michael Moore or Al Gore that can deliver misleading movies to the public.

The outrage is here, but unlike those with money or power, I don't know how to reach those who feel similarly in order to effect change.

Why am I outraged? I am outraged that my country, the United States of America , is in a state of moral and ethical decline. There is no right or wrong anymore, just what's fair.

Is it fair that millions of Americans who overreached and borrowed more than they could afford are now being bailed out by the government and lending institutions to stave off foreclosure? Why shouldn't these people be made to pay the consequences for their poor judgment?

When my husband and I purchased our home, we were careful to purchase only what we could afford. Believe me, there are much larger, much nicer homes that I would have loved to have purchased. But, taking responsibility for my behavior and my life, I went with the house that we could afford, not the house that we could not afford. The notion of personal responsibility has all but died in our country.

I am outraged, that the country that welcomed my mother as an immigrant from Hitler's Nazi Germany and required that she and her family learn English now allows itself to be overrun with illegal immigrants and worse, caters to those illegal immigrants.

I am outraged that my hard-earned taxes help support those here illegally. That the Los Angeles Public School District is in such disarray that I felt it incumbent to send my child to private school, that every time I go to the ATM, I see "do you want to continue in English or Spanish?", that every time
I call the bank, the phone company, or similar business, I hear "press 1 for English or press 2 for Spanish". WHY? This is America , our common language is English and attempts to promote a bi- or multi-lingual society are sure to fail and to marginalize those who cannot communicate in English.

I am outraged at our country's weakness in the face of new threats on American traditions from Muslims. Just this week, Tyson's Food negotiated with its union to permit Muslims to have Eid-al-Fitr as a holiday instead of Labor Day. What am I missing? Yes, there is a large Somali Muslim population working at the Tyson's plant in Tennessee. Tennessee, last I checked, is still part of the United States. If Muslims want to live and work here, they should be required to live and work by our American Laws and not impose their will on our long history.

In the same week, Random House announced that they had indefinitely delayed the publication of The Jewel of Medina, by Sherry Jones, a book about the life of Mohammed's wife, Aisha, due to fear of retribution and violence by Muslims. When did we become a nation ruled by fear of what other immigrant groups want? It makes me so sad to see large corporations cave rather than stand proudly on the principles that built this country...

I am outraged because appeasement has never worked as a political policy, yet appeasing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is exactly what we are trying to do. An excellent article, also published recently in the Wall Street Journal, went through over 20 years of history and why talking with Iran has been and will continue to be ineffective. Yet talk, with a madman no less, we continue to do. Have we so lost our moral compass and its ability to detect evil that we will not go in and destroy Iran's nuclear program? Would we rather wait for another Holocaust for the Jews - one which they would be unlikely to survive? When does it end?

As if the battle for good and evil isn't enough, now come the Environmentalists who are so afraid of global warming that they want to put a Bag tax on grocery bags in California; to eliminate Mylar balloons; to establish something as insidious as the recycle police in San Francisco. I do my share for the environment: I recycle, I use water wisely, I installed an energy efficient air conditioning unit. But when and where does the lunacy stop? Ahmadinejad wants to wipe Israel off the map, the California economy is being overrun by illegal immigrants, and the United States of
America no longer knows right from wrong, good from evil. So what does California do? Tax grocery bags.

So, America , although I can tell you where the outrage is, this one middle-aged, well-educated, upper middle class woman is powerless to do anything about it. I don't even feel like my vote counts because I am so outnumbered by those who disagree with me."

Acts 2:38

A woman had just returned to her home from an evening of church Services , when she was startled by an intruder.

She caught the man in the act of robbing her home of its valuables and yelled:'Stop! Acts 2:38!' (Repent and be Baptized, in the name of Jesus Christ , so that your sins may be forgiven.)The burglar stopped in his tracks. The woman calmly called the police and explained what she had done.As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar: 'Why did you just stand there?

All the old lady did was yell a scripture to you.''Scripture?' replied the burglar. 'She said she had an Ax and Two 38s!'

Do You Trust Congress?

The Not Raising Hogs Business

TO: Senators Snow & Collins, Washington, D.C.

FROM: A Maine Resident

Dear Senators,

Thank you for crossing party lines and voting for the handout package. My friend, Ed Peterson, over at Wells, Maine, received a check for $10,000 from the government for not raising hogs. So, I want to go into the "not raising hogs" business next year.
What I want to know is, in your opinion, what is the best kind of farm not to raise hogs on, and what is the best breed of hogs not to raise? I want to be sure that I approach this endeavor in keeping with all governmental policies. I would prefer not to raise razorbacks, but if that is not a good breed not to raise, then I will just as gladly not raise Yorkshires or Durocs.

As I see it, the hardest part of this program will be in keeping an accurate inventory of how many hogs I haven't raised. My friend, Peterson, is very joyful about the future of the business. He has been really raising hogs for twenty years or so, and the best he ever made on them was $1,422 in 1968, until this year when he got your check for $10,000 for not raising hogs. If I get $1,000 for not raising 50 hogs, will I get $2,000 for not raising 100 hogs? I plan to operate on a small scale at first, holding myself down to about 4,000 hogs not raised, which will mean about $80,000 the first year. Then I can afford an airplane.

Now another thing these hogs I will not raise will not eat 100,000 bushels of corn. I understand that you also pay farmers for not raising corn and wheat. Will I qualify for payments for not raising wheat and corn not to feed the 4,000 hogs I am not going to raise?

Also, I am considering the "not milking cows" business, so send me any information you have on that, too. In view of these circumstances, you understand that I will be totally unemployed and plan to file for unemployment and food stamps. Be assured I will vote Democratic in the comming election.

Patriotically Yours,

A soon to be Gentleman Maine Farmer

P.S. Would you please notify me when you plan to distribute more free cheese?
