One Lucky Family Will Win This Pool

The other day, my old friend, Billy Hill called me and asked me if I'd be willing to do him a favor. He had read the article about Bruce Hunter, (Bruce's Billiards) and Salisbury News giving away free Hot Dogs on the 4th of July and he said he also wanted to do something to give back to a family in need.

He told me he had purchased an above ground swimming pool and wanted to have me find a needy Family with lots of kids and give them this Swimming Pool. So here we are.

We're looking for a Family that have had to go through a rough patch and we want to make the rest of your HOT Summer months relaxing and enjoyable. We have this brand new pool in its original box and we're very excited about finding that special Family.

So here's what we want you to do. First, you need to spread the word that this FREE POOL is available to all of your friends, especially ones that could qualify. I'm sure in your circle of friends and associates you know someone who could really use this Pool to bring some joy to an other wise difficult period. I happen to know of at least two or three. However, this isn't about knowing somebody and giving it away to special interests.

I want this to be fair and we want to give it away very soon so this Family can enjoy the Summer. It can be assembled in less than 30 minutes and let me assure you, this Pool, (if you go out and shop it) isn't cheap.

I want you or your friends and or associates to e-mail me at alberobutzo@wmconnect.com and tell us why you think you deserve this Pool and what it would do for your Family. Please put the word "POOL" in the subjest line as I received hundreds of e-mails a day and I want to make sure they're not put in the trash bin as spam. I will NOT expose anyone's story with exception of the winner and their names will remain anonymous.

We stated on January 1, 2009 that this year was going to be all about giving back to those less fortunate. I will create a board in which we will review the letters that come in and choose a winner.

If YOU would like to participate in giving back by offering these types of items as a FREE Giveaway you may also contact me at the address above. We will gladly advertise your business, (if you so choose). Billy Hill Construction is the company and individual who provided this FREE gift.

I look forward to your letters and I'm sure we'll have someone picked out by the end of the week.

Salisbury News nor Billy Hill Construction are responsible for any liability with this Pool.

JOE,THATS a great idea and gift. However there is some expense to startup. For that size I would guess almost 200 dollars for the chemicals, sand, and maintance.Might be a good idea to mention it.

I don't know where you have come up with the idea that chemicals and sand would cost $200.00 but let me assure you, I had an entire dump truck load of sand, (Eastern Shore Top Soil, LOL) delivered to my home for $115.00 not that long ago. Secondly, all you need for the filter is chlorene tablets and I bought ONE bucket last year that will probably last me at least 4 years for this size pool.

Try bashing this Post all you want. many Families out there would do anything for such a luxury. By the way, I turn off my filter/pump at night and I have never once experienced any algie. Once the sun is off the pool you're in good shape.

For a family that cannot afford a vacation or other entertainment for their family, a pool like this could be a God Send! I feel fairly certain if the little more they need is simply for the sand and chlorine tablets, the readers of this Blog will find it in their hearts to make that happen too!

Great idea!

I bet if asked--Walmart would donate the chlorine and whatever else is needed for the family to get the pool going.

Im sure if it needs sand on the bottom someone on here would make sure they get the sand they need to set it up. As far as chemicals I would be glad to chip in and help buy some. We can't forget the toys!!! Joe maybe once you post the story we will know how old the kids are so we can get them some toys to go with their new pool.

anonymous 2:50, Be careful what you offer because there's one family in mind that could really break the bank account on "toys" alone. ;-)

Joe
I have enough faith in your readers that we could all do a little something to help the winner. I didn't mean toy toys lol I ment POOL toys, you can only fit so many into a pool that size.

I had a pool of that size for five years. I didn't spend 200.00 dollars for chemicals total. Pool Tech helped me get the right chemicals and helped me more than I can explain. The upkeep of the pool was far less than the enjoyment derived from it.

looks like everybody missed the whole point of the blog. free to a deserving family not complain and make comments about price. you didnt buy it so why worry about the price

Joe, might want to re-read/re-word the last sentence. I think you're missing the word "neither" and it seems as though it may be crucial.
