Welcome To The Oligarchy – US Leads The Developed World In Low Wage Jobs

In an apparent attempt to advise investors on how they can take advantage of America’s transformation into a neo-feudal oligarchy in a 50-page research report, Morgan Stanley has put together some very interesting charts.. We will be sharing many of them in the next few days but none is more telling and depressing than the one that shows how the U.S. leads the developed world in the share of low wage jobs...

It May or May Not Shock You to Hear What Al Sharpton Is Claiming About the Search for New Attorney General

Hours after the news broke that U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder plans to resign, Al Sharpton claimed his civil rights group, the National Action Network, is already “engaged in immediate conversations” with the White House about Holder’s successor.

“We are engaged in immediate conversations with the White House on deliberations over a successor whom we hope will continue in the general direction of Attorney General Holder,” Sharpton said in a statement obtained by Business Insider.

Sharpton also said Holder “has been the best attorney general on civil rights in U.S. history” and his resignation is disappointing “because he leaves at a critical time when we need his continued diligence most.”

The Radical Imam Who Warned Hannity That 'Sharia Law Is Coming' Was Arrested in Anti-Terror Raids

You might remember radical Muslim cleric Anjem Choudary from a Hannity broadcast last month. During a fierce back-and-forth, Choudary claimed that beheadings are permissible under Islamic law, defended ISIS and warned that Sharia law is "coming to a place near you."

Hannity answered that "eventually the world's going to wake up ... and every radical Islamist like you will be wiped off the face of the earth."

(Watch that interview in full, here.)

Now, Greg Palkot reports that Choudary was among nine men rounded up during anti-terror raids in London overnight. The men are suspected of encouraging terrorism and belonging to banned organizations.

Anthony Brown can't seem to tell the truth

The DGA and Anthony Brown want you to believe the lies…but you know better.

After a month of being outspent 2:1 by the Democratic Governors Association and the Brown Campaign, our polling shows that this race is a dead heat!

Typically, my opponent could expect a significant bounce after running such an expensive attack ad campaign against me, but the numbers show that voters don't believe the lies.

Marylanders want to talk about his failed record and are concerned about the future of this state!

The Brown campaign underestimated us in this race. They thought they would just
await a coronation in November. But they are in for the fight of their lives and forced to spend millions of dollars.

Brown and the Democratic establishment has for too long taken Maryland's families for granted. They have ignored our mounting frustration with failed policies, statewide job loss, foreclosures and crippling tax burdens on families and small businesses.  BUT MARYLANDERS ARE FED UP!

Brown and the liberal left are not the solution…they are the problem. Regardless of party -- Marylanders are ready to change Maryland.

We have just over 40 days left in the campaign and we need your help.Together we can and will build a brighter future for Maryland.

 Thank you for your support,

New ABC show 'black-ish' sure finds it weird when 'brothers start getting a little money'

If you are old enough to remember TV in the '80s, you will recall that "The Cosby Show" was a huge hit, and also a frequent source of criticism from black activists. The problem? It portrayed a black family as happy, strong and prosperous. Why would that be a problem? It was a problem for some because it didn't show this particular black family mired in "the struggle," rather focusing on the fairly normal issues associated with marriage and raising children.

In fact, the blackness of the Huxtable family was almost incidental to the plot of the show. If you'd ever had kids, or had ever been a kid, or had ever just been part of a family, you could relate to the weekly experiences of Cliff, Claire and their kids, which is why the show was so popular with all kinds of audiences. It wasn't that it was a black show per se, but rather that it was a great show.

Thirty-some years on, along comes "black-ish," which debuts tonight on ABC and deals more directly with the racial element of a similar story. This time the focus is on the conflict experienced by a black man who came from the 'hood but experiences career success and is able to provide his family with a better life as a result. The conflict, of course, stems from the notion that this kind of life . . is not really consistent with authentic blackness:

CRAZY!

A San Francisco parking attendant went for a 12-block ride last Thursday sprawled across the hood of a car while the driver inside screamed in panic.

The picture of the incident looks too perfect to be real, but the resulting criminal charges are certainly not.

Allison Yates was driving in the right-hand lane when a car driven by Bo Mounsombath, 33, sped by on her left and passed multiple lanes of traffic to turn right.

Your Medical Record Is Worth More To Hackers Than Your Credit Card

Your medical information is worth 10 times more than your credit card number on the black market.

Last month, the FBI warned healthcare providers to guard against cyber attacks after one of the largest U.S. hospital operators, Community Health Systems Inc, said Chinese hackers had broken into its computer network and stolen the personal information of 4.5 million patients.

Security experts say cyber criminals are increasingly targeting the $3 trillion U.S. healthcare industry, which has many companies still reliant on aging computer systems that do not use the latest security features.

Is Ferguson the new Syria? Obama brings apology for Michael Brown shooting to UN speech about ISIS genocide

President Barack Obama brought the infamous shooting of Michael Brown, a Ferguson, Missouri teen, into his speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, citing it as evidence that the United States has 'our own racial and ethnic tensions' that compare to the sectarian genocide and ethnic cleansing plaguing the Middle East.

His remarks focused mostly on armed clashes in Ukraine and on a vicious jihad in Iraq and Syria where a terror group has beheaded journalists for a global Internet audience, where hundreds of thousands have died, and where millions have fled as refugees.

'I realize that America's critics will be quick to point out that at times we too have failed to live up to our ideals; that America has plenty of problems within our own borders,' he told representatives of 193 countries gathered in New York City. 'This is true.'

Music Festival Promoter Seeks To Clear Air About Event

BERLIN — The organizers of this month’s music festival near Berlin defended the event this week after an article last week and an ongoing dispute over the treatment of one band.

Taking place from Thursday, Sept. 11 through Saturday, Sept. 13, the Soundwave Music Festival, produced by Airlift Entertainment, was hosted at Airlift Acres, a 50-acre field north of Berlin and featured a lineup of tribute and original rock bands from across the country.

A week after the event, Ocean City Today ran a scathing article titled “Music Fest Hits Sour Note With Fans, Musicians.” Citing one fan interviewed in person, an anonymous online comment and performing guitarist Tim Barbour of the New York band Blameshift, the article criticized every aspect of the event from attendance to food to organization.

Tim Keane, owner and promoter of Airlift Entertainment, responded this week to the article, which he claims was a blatant smear job by a biased reporter.

Bureaucrat SMACKED DOWN Over Homeschooling And Common Core

The Home School Legal Defense Association says it has successfully intervened in the case of two New Jersey parents who decided to homeschool their child instead of utilizing the Westfield, N.J. public school system.

According to the homeschooling advocacy group, the trouble began earlier this school year when the assistant superintendent of the Westfield Public Schools sent a letter to the parents warning them that they have no choice but to abide by New Jersey’s Common Core standards.

The letter ordered the parents to present a “letter of intent” to school district officials and an outline of their proposed curriculum. Then, the letter reportedly said, the parents had to hope the superintendent would accept their curriculum and allow them to continue homeschooling their own child.

The event, which once again topped Sunshine Artist magazine’s list for the best festival in the nation, took over the Inlet Lot and beach Thursday-Sunday, September 18-21.

Accompanied by beautiful late summer weather, Sunfest featured nearly 300 vendors, along with live music, hayrides on the beach and a wide and delicious offering of food. The festival grounds at the Inlet Parking Lot were bustling with visitors, as attendance was up nearly 47,000 people from 2013, boasting the highest attendance ever and trending way above the five year average of 175,299.

An ISIS Nest Grows in Boston

Boston’s WCVB.com reported Monday that “the federal government is targeting Boston and two other American cities to shut down what they are calling the U.S.-Jihad pipeline to ISIS in an attempt to stop Americans from joining the terrorist organization.” Boston apparently made this elite list because Ahmad Abousamra, “an American college graduate from Boston, who has been on the run from the FBI for years, is suspected of joining ISIS and leveraging his computer skills to spread the Iraqi terror group’s propaganda on social media.” And so now Boston is reaping what it has sown for so many years.

The Islamic State has been linked to the Islamic Society of Boston. The Tsarnaev brothers, the Boston Marathon jihad mass murderers, went to mosque at the Islamic Society of Boston. So did other convicted jihad terrorists, Tarek Mehanna and Aafia Siddiqui. During all this, the FBI conducted “outreach” to the Islamic Society of Boston but never investigated it. Now they’re reaping the fruits of their politically correct willful ignorance.

Hogan at Press Conference: "Clear violation of Federal and State law by the O'Malley-Brown administration and by Brown-Ulman campaign for governor"

ANNAPOLIS – September 25, 2014 – Larry Hogan held a press conference today at his Annapolis headquarters where he denounced the Anthony Brown for Governor campaign and the O'Malley-Brown administration for what he called a "deliberate attempt… to circumvent the intent" of election finance law through a shake down of state contractors to contribute to the federal Democratic Governors Association; state law prohibits contractors from making these kinds of donations to a candidate's state campaign account.

Hogan said, "As you know, the US Department of Health and Human Services Inspector General is currently conducting a federal investigation into potential fraud by parties involved with the Maryland Health Exchange…

We believe that this federal investigation needs to be widened, to determine if federal and/or state laws were broken, and to investigate the potential fraud regarding the state tax dollars that were misspent on the exchange; how and why the O'Malley-Brown administration awarded these contracts to the failed contractors, and who ultimately was responsible for the collapse of the entire system.

We have formally requested broader federal and state investigations into the health care debacle, as well as other inappropriate, clearly unethical, and potentially illegal contracts awarded to large donors to O'Malley, Brown, and groups with whom they are directly involved, including the Democratic Governors Association.

We believe that this investigation should determine whether state and/or federal laws were broken in the awarding of "emergency," "no-bid contractors" for the failed health care exchange, which Lt. Governor Brown was directly responsible for overseeing.

Specifically, the O'Malley-Brown administration awarded massive state contracts to firms that donated hundreds of thousands, even millions of dollars to the DGA while Governor O'Malley served as both chairman and finance chairman of the organization.

In numerous cases, Maryland state contractors made large donations to the DGA just before or immediately after the Anthony Brown-led Maryland Health Benefit Exchange awarded large contracts to these firms or their subsidiaries, including "no-bid" contracts to "repair" the failed health exchange.

Of particular concern is whether these suspicious donations to the DGA have been funneled to and are now funding ads being run to promote Lt. Governor Brown's gubernatorial campaign."

Obama Forbids FBI to Use Religion in Identifying Terror Threats, as ISIS Recruits Openly in U.S. Mosques

AT had a chance to catch up with Steven Emerson, head of The Investigative Project on Terrorism, and hear his assessment of the ISIS threat here on American soil. Emerson runs the country’s top data center on Islamic terror groups in the United States, working like a man possessed, and accomplishing the work of thousands on sheer guts and determination to protect our country.

Wherever the bad guys have been caught and prosecuted successfully, you will find Emerson working quietly behind the scenes as an invaluable ally of the FBI and Homeland Security. Because he accepts no money from the government, Emerson has been free of the diktats of the Obama administration that have forbidden the FBI to train their sights on Muslim terrorists. (That means The Investigative Project needs your help to continue its work.)

In the words of U.S. Representative Pete Hoekstra, Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence:

The Investigative Project on Terrorism is critical to our nation's security. There is no other non-governmental group that has better intelligence or data on the threat to the United States and our allies. Making do with a bare bones budget, the IPT is a national treasure whose influence and achievements are unparalleled.

Salisbury Police Take To The Air In 1941

The rapid response of Salisbury police officers puzzled wayward types in the tranquil summer of 1941, as officers started arriving on calls at surprisingly fast speeds. When someone phoned headquarters to report a suspicious activity, it seemed as if the officer was waiting around the corner. More and more a patrol car screeched up on the scene before the troublemaker hastily departed the area.

This greatly enhanced efficiency wasn’t because of increased manpower, with added beats in every section of the City. Instead it was the application of the latest technology, a two-way radio system.

Inhumanely Treated Chicken Labeled and Sold as “Humanely Raised”

Many consumers are increasingly concerned with the way their food is produced.

Tycko & Zavareei has partnered with public interest organizations to pursue claims against chicken producers deceptively claiming their chicken is “humanely” raised or treated. A complaint in New Jersey against Perdue, Inc. alleges that Perude’s “Harvestland” chicken, which is touted as “Humanely Raised,” is in fact identical to standard, mass-produced chicken products. Similarly, a complaint in California alleges that the national supermarket company The Kroger Company (which operates Kroger, Ralph’s, Fred Meyer, and Food4Less stores, to name a few), falsely touts its “Simple Truth” store brand chicken as “raised in a humane environment.” In fact, the complaints allege, the birds are treated no differently than other mass-produced chickens confined on factory farms and killed in industrial slaughter plants.

The complaints allege that chicken sold under these brand names are subject to all manner of inhumane treatment. The complaints allege consumers were harmed by the misrepresentations because, among other reasons, the companies charged a significant price premium on the supposedly “humane” chicken.

Please contact us if you have purchased Harvestland or Simple Truth chicken products that claimed to be “humane.”

Middle-class Squeeze: From Day Care To Health Care

Three years ago, Jason Prosser was stunned to discover the cost of child care for his newborn son -- so much so that he and his wife postponed having a second child.

The day care center they found near their Seattle home tops $10,000 a year. Next year, their son, now 3, can attend a Catholic preschool less than half as costly.

"It'll be nice to have enough relief next year," Prosser said. "It's just funny that the relief will be a private school."

He and his wife are among legions of middle-class families who are straining under the weight of accelerating costs for a range of essential services from day care to health care. And now a study by the Center for American Progress shows just how heavy the burden has grown: For a typical married couple with two children, the combined cost of child care, housing, health care and savings for college and retirement jumped 32 percent from 2000 to 2012 -- and that's after adjusting for inflation.

Holder Says Voter ID is Racist, Demands ID for Ferguson Town Hall

It’s fine to demand an ID to drive or buy cold medicine. Just so long as it’s not for voting. The same DOJ hack who spent years shrieking that asking voters for an ID was racist had no problems demanding IDs in the racial hotbed of Ferguson.

The meetings, originally organized by the Ferguson government, were hijacked by the Justice Department’s Community Relations Service… This is the same DOJ unit that was accused of helping organize protests against George Zimmerman in the Trayvon Martin case.

Climate Change Crowd Silent on Regulations' Economic Damage

As Watchdog.org reporter Bruce Parker vividly reported Sunday from inside the environmentalist carnival that was the People's Climate March through midtown Manhattan, this pregame show to Tuesday's going-green confab in New York City showcased an array of left-loving characters.

His greenness himself, former Vice President Al Gore, was in attendance. So was Hollywood heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio. The vegans, the shamans, the commies, big labor, the socialists, and probably more than a few sociopaths all were on hand at what was billed as the largest climate-related protest in history.

Along the parade route, from Central Park West to West 34th Street, the Big Apple was filled with an estimated 400,000 (by organizers' estimates) trumpet-blasting, drum-circle gathering, holistic medicine-ingesting participants.

Welcome here was the Party for Socialism and Liberation and their sign that declared:

"Climate change is the symptom. Capitalism is the disease. Socialism is the cure."

The People's Climate March was not a U.S. Chamber of Commerce kind of crowd.

Forest Service Says Media Needs Photography Permit In Wilderness Areas, Alarming First Amendment Advocates

The U.S. Forest Service has tightened restrictions on media coverage in vast swaths of the country's wild lands, requiring reporters to pay for a permit and get permission before shooting a photo or video in federally designated wilderness areas.

Under rules being finalized in November, a reporter who met a biologist, wildlife advocate or whistleblower alleging neglect in any of the nation's 100 million acres of wilderness would first need special approval to shoot photos or videos even on an iPhone.

Permits cost up to $1,500, says Forest Service spokesman Larry Chambers, and reporters who don't get a permit could face fines up to $1,000.

First Amendment advocates say the rules ignore press freedoms and are so vague they'd allow the Forest Service to grant permits only to favored reporters shooting videos for positive stories.

"It's pretty clearly unconstitutional," said Gregg Leslie, legal defense director at the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press in Alexandria, Va. "They would have to show an important need to justify these limits, and they just can't."

Thousands of Illegal Immigrants Enrolled in Obamacare

Thousands of illegal immigrants have been allowed to illicitly enroll in and receive taxpayer-funded healthcare benefits from Obamacare.

"The Obama administration has been granting deadline extensions, making excuses and turning a blind eye to falsified documents by illegal immigrants.

Insane Newpaper: Climate Change Will Make Alaska Like Florida

If you can believe it, this hyper alarmist bat guano insane article is not at Salon, Climate Progress, Grist, or any others

(NY Times) Forget most of California and the Southwest (drought, wildfires). Ditto for much of the East Coast and Southeast (heat waves, hurricanes, rising sea levels). Washington, D.C., for example, may well be a flood zone by 2100, according to an estimate released last week.

Instead, consider Anchorage. Or even, perhaps, Detroit.

“If you do not like it hot and do not want to be hit by a hurricane, the options of where to go are very limited,” said Camilo Mora, a geography professor at the University of Hawaii and lead author of a paper published in Nature last year predicting that unprecedented high temperatures will become the norm worldwide by 2047.

“The best place really is Alaska,” he added. “Alaska is going to be the next Florida by the end of the century.”

I’d usually insert a face palm gif here, but, wait, here’s the tweet from the NY Times

When Journalists Commit Domestic Violence

Ruling class media hypocrisy in NFL controversy.

Lo and behold, it seems that the media itself has a domestic violence problem. Ten cases discovered at first Google. Which is twice as many, to be specific, as the five cases that have had the media in such a frenzy over domestic violence in the National Football League.

Where are these ten cases to be found? Two cases at ESPN, with the rest spread out over affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC and, yes, the New York Times. And there are others for television stations not affiliated with the major networks. With all this massive focus on what the Wall Street Journal calls “moral preening” in the media about domestic violence in the NFL — isn’t it a tad curious that the same “moral preening” is absent, that the camera never swings around to the media itself?

Five cases in the NFL have launched this media uproar, accompanied by an abundance of moral posturing. There has been no hesitation to spotlight the players named in those five cases: Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens, Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings, Greg Hardy of the Carolina Panthers, Jonathan Dwyer of the Arizona Cardinals, and Ray McDonald of the San Francisco 49ers.

Special Report: Poultry firms systematically feed low-dose antibiotics to flocks

ATLANTA/CHICAGO (Reuters) - Major U.S. poultry firms are administering antibiotics to their flocks far more pervasively than regulators realize, posing a potential risk to human health.

Internal records examined by Reuters reveal that some of the nation's largest poultry producers routinely feed chickens an array of antibiotics – not just when sickness strikes, but as a standard practice over most of the birds' lives.

In every instance of antibiotic use identified by Reuters, the doses were at the low levels that scientists say are especially conducive to the growth of so-called superbugs, bacteria that gain resistance to conventional medicines used to treat people. Some of the antibiotics belong to categories considered medically important to humans.

Kerry: Climate Change More Serious Threat Than Terrorism, Poverty, WMD

(CNSNews.com) -- During his opening remarks at the NYC Climate Week event on Monday, a summit coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly in New York City, Secretary of State John Kerry called climate change the “most serious challenge we face on the planet,” claiming the threat beats out other international concerns such as terrorism, poverty and weapons of mass destruction. He spoke just hours before the U.S. bombed Syria.

“And when you think about terrorism, which we think about a lot today; poverty, which is linked obviously to the levels of terror that we see in the world today; and, of course, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction – all of these are challenges that don’t know any borders,” Kerry told government leaders and representatives from around the world.

3D Technology

Since the creation of 3D printers, the manufacturing technology has been used to make everything from food to weapons. A construction firm in China is now saying that the printers can be used to create low-cost housing. The company used a new 3D printer that uses construction waste to print pieces of houses that easily fit together on site. The process is so effective and affordable, the firm was able to create ten single-story houses within 24 hours, at a cost of only $5,000 per house. And, the new homes are even eco-friendly. The inventor of the new printer explained, "Industrial waste from demolished buildings is damaging our environment, but with 3D-printing, we are able to recycle construction waste and turn it into new building materials." This new technology could provide low-cost housing and a solution to building waste, and it's a heck of a lot safer for construction workers. Considering that 3D printing has only been a reality for a few years, we can only imagine the incredible ways this technology will be used in our future.

Presence of EV-D68 Confirmed in Maryland

Baltimore, MD (September 24, 2014) -- Today the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) confirmed the presence of enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) in Maryland. The virus, which has been associated with respiratory infections in children across the country, was identified in a specimen collected from a hospitalized child in suburban Maryland and was sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for confirmation.
The child was released from the hospital and is recovering.
“Now that this virus is known to be in Maryland, it is important that we all take reasonable steps to limit its spread and control its impact,” said DHMH Secretary Dr. Joshua M. Sharfstein.
DHMH is recommending that families:
Practice preventive steps, as with other ailments, by regularly washing hands with soap and water.
Provide special attention to children with asthma.
Be alert to wheezing and other respiratory ailments in children.
        Keep sick children at home.
Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
Cough and sneeze into sleeve or a tissue.
Avoid kissing, hugging and sharing cups, eating utensils, etc. with people who are sick.
Disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs, especially if someone is sick.
Stay up-to-date on vaccinations, especially influenza vaccine, to reduce respiratory illness.
DHMH has been working with healthcare facilities to prepare for the expected arrival of enterovirus D68. DHMH is recommending that health care facilities continue to keep the department apprised of hospitalizations for severe respiratory illnesses.
Because there is no EV-D68-specific treatment, identifying EV-D68 doesn’t change the treatment of the patient: If a patient is wheezing, the wheezing symptoms can be treated; if a patient is having difficulty breathing, respiratory support and oxygen can be given.
Healthcare providers, as recommended by the CDC should:
Consider EV-D68 as a possible cause of acute, unexplained severe respiratory illness, even if the patient does not have fever.
Consider laboratory testing of respiratory specimens for enteroviruses when the cause of respiratory illness in severely ill patients is unclear.
DHMH also will continue to work with school officials and other institutions that monitor student health and activity, for updates on absenteeism and other indicators of respiratory illness activity. The department will continue to conduct surveillance on the spread and impact of this virus.
Enterovirus is one of many viruses that can cause respiratory illness, and there are more than 100 types of enteroviruses that affect humans, causing between 10 million and 15 million illnesses per year. Most people with enteroviruses have no symptoms or only mild symptoms, but some infections can be serious. EV-D68 infections are believed to occur less often than other enterovirus infections. The CDC is providing updates on nationwide D68 infections at http://www.cdc.gov/non-polio-enterovirus/about/EV-D68.html.
