Pohanka Shows Their Commitment To Salisbury

March 11, 2009

In the tough times currently facing our country, The Pohanka Automotive Group of Salisbury would like to reinforce it's commitment to the greater Delmarva community by taking our part in sustaining our local charitable organizations. The number of people relying on charitable contributions is growing every day while the number of individuals who are financially stable enough to donate is dwindling.

At Pohanka, we understand that there is action needed to reverse this trend. In order to better provide for Delmarva's charitable organizations, Pohanka Automotive Group has introduced "Pohanka Pays it forward". For every new or pre-owned vehicle sold, a $100 donation will be made to whichever non-profit charitable organization or cause the specific customer chooses.

The Pohanka Automotive Group needs your help in spreading the word on this new partnership. As an organization our success hinges on the community we call home, and it is our opinion that the relationship should benefit all parties involved. No great task is accomplished in solitude, and we would like to express our sincere loyalty in leading Delmarva through this recession.

Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to tackling the challenges that face our organizations in unison.

Pohanka Pays it forward, because you’re Community is our Community.

Respectfully,

Nina DiCarlo
Public Relations Director

Wow. I read on JD power that the average profit from a car purchase has fallen to $1k in these times. If that is true, this means they are donating 10% of profits back to the community. That is awesome.

Pohanka Pays it Forward is a sincere effort to help our community. For the past ten years I have done everything I can to help all of the local non-profits.
Unfortunately in this economy the funds have not been there to help.

This is not a gimmick; this is an honest program to give back to the heart and soul of our community that counts on the goodwill of local businesses and individuals.

If anyone feels they have not received a fair deal or feel we have done something wrong at Pohanka please feel free to call me or e-mail me directly at 410-749-6205 or sfitzgerald@pohankaofsalisbury.com

Sincerely,

Sandy Fitzgerald-Angello

Kudos to Pohanka!

If I was in the market for a new car I would consider this when purchasing.

Thanks for being a part of our community!

I posted a comment a couple of hours ago and have yet to see it posted. I dont know why except maybe its because Pohanka is not the best in the car biz like everyone thinks. I thought it was good to give ALL sides of an opinion. Lets face it Joe, you give all sides of situations when you post things. Give everyone the same respect.

Every one's comments are getting posted. I don't know what your deal is? I'm not putting up any more of this crap though.

I've bought 4 vehicles from Pohanka over the years and I have tons of friends that have too. Pohanka does so much for the local community, whether it's helping out with the Brooke bonfire, Toys for Tots, collecting winter jackets, or the tons of other things they do. I challenge any other business or car dealership to do as much as they do for their community. The best part of all of this is that Pohanka never makes a big deal out of what they do. Thank you Sandy, Nina, and the rest of the Pohanka staff for all that you do year in and year out.

Pohanka is a great dealership. I've bought all my cars from Chris Hagel and he does a great job. The best part about Chris is that he doesn't sell you a car, he teaches you how to buy. He's never been pushy, always there to show me tons of cars, and constantly goes that extra mile. This is just one more thing that Pohanka does for our community. If you're looking to purchase a car or truck call Chris Hagel, he'll take great care of you 410-749-2301 ext 8030.

Do only 501c3 organizations qualify for this or do 501c6 organizations qualify as well?

I've personally worked with the Pohanka Automotive Group for years now and I have to say that they are a pleasure to work with. I've seen them bend over backwards to help their employees as well as the community. They have been a major sponsor of the Toys for Tots golf tournament since the beginning, not to mention when they raffled off the $500,000 Mercedes for them. Not only have they helped our community, but when I was with Clear Channel and set up the event for the Katrina victims Pohanka was the first one there with a check for $12,000! I cannot say enough great things about the people that work there and the dealership they work for. The other thing I'd like to say is that you never hear Pohanka brag about what they do. Sure they get news coverage and their pictures in the paper, but they don't ask for that. They just do it to do it. As for the person that wrote about Chris, I too have to say what a pleasure he is to deal with. I have bought all my cars not only from Pohanka, but from Chris personally and I also have to agree that he makes the process easy and is not into those high pressure sales. Thank you Chris and thank you Pohanka.
