Local Republican Central Committee Chairman Puts Democratic Campaign Sign On His Property

The Chairman of the Wicomico County Republican Central Committee, Mark McIver, posts a Democrats 8 ft. billboard on his commercial property on Moss Hill Lane.  The core function of the Republican Central Committee is to support and elect Republicans not Democrats. Mark McIver and Muir Bota got elected to the Republican Central Committee to elect Republicans and they are failing their constituents!  It may be considered a "nonpartisan" race but Jake Day is a well know Partisan.  He is a Socialist who is registered as a Democrat and despises President Trump.  It is known that the Vice Chair of the Republican Central Committee, Muir Bota, openly admitted he was going to vote for the Democrat and not the Republican candidate for Mayor of Salisbury.  What is wrong with the local Republican Party in Wicomico County?

A Viewer Writes: Pittsville Town Council Candidate Challenged With "Theft By Deception"

During the water plant issues last summer, the Town of Pittsville purchased cases of bottled water for affected residents. Some of the citizens, including Sean McHugh and Dawn Mace personally delivered these cases of water door to door upon request. We met them when we were moving in and didn’t know yet about the water issues.

Shortly after, Ivory Smith and Jared Schablein approached Pittsville Ford and asked for a donation of bottled water on behalf of town residents.

Pittsville Ford generously donated 50 cases of bottle water.

Jared and Ivory set up a table on Old Ocean City Rd. giving out the donated water to anyone who stopped, no matter if they lived in Pittsville town limits or not.

After it was over, Ivory took it all home with him and that’s where it stayed. He has been asked numerous times to turn over the bottle water to the Town so it can be passed out to residents if needed. He has refused and to this day is keeping it all. He claims he will give it out if anyone asks, but he has not. And it isn’t “his” water to give away, it belongs to the residents.

I personally reached out to him and offered to load it in my van and take it to the town to store it so it is available to the residents if needed. He never answered back. He doesn’t answer anyone who asks him questions on line.

At one time the Town didn’t have room to store it but they do now. If Ivory and Jared asked for the water on behalf of the town, then they were representing themselves as “the Town”. In which case, Ivory should not be holding OUR emergency water supply hostage. If they represented themselves to Pittsville Ford asking for donations of water for the town then KEPT the rest for them, that is THEFT BY DECEPTION.

Ivory Smith what else are you going to hold hostage for your own agenda if you got elected to town council? SMH

A Viewer Writes......American Education Week Cancelled

Did you know that Wicomico County has cancelled “American Education Week” because of security concerns. I watched some of the replay from last week’s BOE meeting and those were Fitzgerald’s words. Go figure… you can’t make this stuff up. You have to wonder when the Maryland State Department of Education is going to step in.

A Viewer Writes: Wicomico county balloon release ban

Good morning Joe, I wanted to see if any other Wicomico County residents see the irony in the county banning the release of balloons due to environmental reasons but they will allow this garbage "Wicomico Weekly" newspaper to be thrown out along the roadway and in people's yards. There are three different signs posted in our neighborhood that read "NO LITTERING 1000.00 FINE" yet our roads are saturated with this publication every week. If this paper wants to reach all the residents make them put up the proper receptacle.

A Viewer Writes: Salisbury Voting Districts are SCREWED up!

Can someone tell me why Salisbury residents who live in what is called a " shaded " area/district are NOT allowed to vote in the upcoming election for Salisbury Mayor? My sister lives off of Regency Drive, pays a quarterly water bill to Salisbury and called to find out where the location was that she would vote was told that she CAN'T vote! The area that she is in includes parts of College Ave and Beaglin Park and Snow Hill Rd. and a lot of other streets in the area are also not allowed to vote. Are the college students who are only " part time residents " allowed to vote but a full time resident who actually lives here full time is not?

190-pound mastiff, Floyd, rescued after becoming exhausted on a mountain hike

SALT LAKE CITY — Floyd the mastiff went for a hike with his owner up the Grandeur Peak trail near Salt Lake City on Sunday, Oct. 13, but when it was time to come down, Floyd was too exhausted and just sat down.

Thanks to the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office’s search and rescue team, the 190-pound dog made it home by being carried back down the trail.

The rescue team was called around 6:30 p.m. after other hikers passed Floyd on the trail and saw his owner needed help. The 3-year-old dog wouldn’t budge, and temperatures in the area were quickly dropping, according to police.

“The team is completely volunteer,” Sgt. Melody Gray of the Unified Police Department, which works with the sheriff’s search and rescue team, told CNN. “They had no hesitation whatsoever, even when they heard it was a dog.”

Maryland officer punched in fight over pro-Trump clothes

An Anne Arundel police officer was punched twice in the head at a high school football game last month, another example of rising political and racial tensions in the county.

The officer, who has not been identified, was treated for a concussion after being punched at the Old Mill-North County game in Glen Burnie on Sept. 27, said Sgt. Jackie Davis, a police spokeswoman.

The officer was one of several escorting unruly spectators from the game after arguments and a fight broke out over clothing printed with slogans supporting President Donald Trump.

Time Running Short For Wicomico County To Hire Attorney

SALISBURY – County officials say the clock is ticking to select a new county attorney.

The Wicomico County Council says an extension that allows for Paul Wilber to serve as acting county attorney will expire on Nov. 4.

But when asked for an update on the search process for a new attorney last week, County Executive Bob Culver said he declined to speak on the matter until Wicomico County Purchasing Agent Nicholas Rice could share his opinions on the procurement process and the reasoning for recommending Wilber’s law firm – Webb, Cornbrooks, Wilber, Vorhis, Douse, Leslie & Mathers, LLP – to continue providing legal services.

“I think you all need to know what his feelings are on that,” he said.

In May, the council voted 6-1, with Councilman Bill McCain opposed, to fire County Attorney Paul Wilber effective July 31.

Pelosi tweets plan to 'overturn' Trump move in Syria

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Monday that the House and Senate would craft a resolution to “overturn” President Trump’s decision to pull U.S. troops away from the Syrian border.

The California Democrat said she discussed the plan Monday morning with Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican who is generally an ally of Trump’s but is staunchly opposed to the president’s move in Syria.

“Our first order of business was to agree that we must have a bipartisan, bicameral joint resolution to overturn the President’s dangerous decision in Syria immediately,” Pelosi tweeted Monday.

Man Who Slammed Trump for ‘Racist’ Immigration Policies Killed by Illegal Immigrant

A man who criticized President Donald Trump’s immigration policies in the name of progressive Christianity was killed last week by an undocumented immigrant who avoided deportation by hiding in a local “sanctuary church.”

Sean Buchanan, a father of five from Colorado Springs, was driving his motorcycle on Highway 83 when Miguel Ramirez Valiente swerved into his lane and killed him. The immigrant was charged with reckless driving with a revoked license.

Ramirez Valiente received national media coverage in January when he sought sanctuary in All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Buchanan’s hometown. Speaking from the pulpit, he told assembled reporters that he had fled gang violence in El Salvador in 2005. He said he wanted to stay in the United States to care for his wife and three children even though his asylum application was denied.

BALTIMORE (WBFF) - It was a bad day for a Panera Bread employee who filmed a now-viral video of how the chain prepares its mac and cheese.

It seems Internet fame may have cost her her job.

The video, posted on the social media platform TikTok, shows frozen bags of Panera's white cheddar macaroni and cheese being warmed up in hot water, then emptied into a bowl.

Hogan orders Bay Bridge toll booths removed as construction traffic crisis continues

Maryland’s governor ordered the Chesapeake Bay Bridge toll booths to be removed as soon as possible Wednesday in an effort to improve traffic during a major construction project.

But Larry Hogan added that there is no pain-free solution to the deteriorating bridge’s problems.

Under Hogan’s plan drivers would pay the Bay Bridge toll by EZ Pass. If they don’t have an EZ Pass they could pay later after receiving a bill in the mail.

“I’m just going to be completely honest with everyone and tell you that there is no real positive solution to make these problems and the traffic backups magically disappear,” Hogan said during a meeting of Maryland’s Board of Public Works in Annapolis.

Awkward! Chelsea Clinton emphatically states a person with a beard and a penis can 'absolutely' identify as a woman

Awkward! Chelsea Clinton emphatically states a person with a beard and a penis can 'absolutely' identify as a woman, while mom Hillary shuffles and looks conflicted as she blames 'generational' differences for not being as open to trans rights

It may appear Hillary and Chelsea Clinton always see eye-to-eye, but in a recent interview one topic cracked the facade of the like-minded mother-daughter power duo.

The one issue Hillary and Chelsea don't appear to agree on entirely is transgender self-identification.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, journalist Decca Aitkenhead asked the Clintons if someone with a beard and a penis can ever be a woman, to which Chelsea replied emphatically, 'Yes.'

However, as Aitkenhead describes it, Hillary looked 'uneasy', and blamed generational gaps for being less accepting.
