The top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee was overheard Wednesday discussing Democrats’ plans to investigate and try to impeach Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
New York Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler took a series of phone calls while riding the Acela train from New York to Washington, D.C., not knowing that the The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway was also on the train and within earshot.
Nadler is set to take over as judiciary chairman as a result of Democrats flipping the Housein Tuesday’s midterm elections.
Nadler claimed in one call that “there’s a real indication that Kavanaugh committed perjury,” claiming the justice misled about when he first heard about the second of several unproven allegations against him.

Lindsey Graham Rips WH Press Corps After Tense Press Conference With Trump
South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham accused the media of being allied with the Democratic Party after a tense press conference with President Donald Trump on Wednesday.
Trump got into spats with several reporters during the post-midterm presser — most notably CNN’s Jim Acosta — and ignited a debate about whether or not the press corps is acting appropriately at White House events. Several reporters interrupted the presidentand their fellow reporters, becoming especially combative in exchanges with the president.
Graham fired off a series of tweets arguing that the behavior of the press diminishes their trust in the eyes of the American people.

NYT: Speaker Paul Ryan Gets Much Blame for Democrats' House Win
House Speaker Paul Ryan deserves much blame for the GOP’s loss of the House in the 2018 election, says a report by the New York Times.
Ryan’s divisive management of the caucus, his primary focus on tax cuts instead of infrastructure spending, his refusal to depart even after his promise to resign, and his weak fund-raising, all helped to divide, disorganize, and discourage the GOP caucus, says the New York Times post-mortem report:
The message from Representative Kevin McCarthy, the House majority leader, was urgent and unsparing. In a meeting with Republican lawmakers before they left Washington for the August congressional recess, Mr. McCarthy warned that time was running short: Unless they intensified their campaign efforts and forcefully delivered a coherent message, he said, Republicans would suffer grievous losses in November.
By Labor Day, Republicans were fatally unprepared for an onslaught of Democratic campaign spending that overwhelmed their candidates from South Florida to Seattle. Party leaders on Capitol Hill and in the White House soon turned on one another and against their candidates with growing intensity. Two key groups — the National Republican Congressional Committee, the party’s campaign arm in the House, and the Congressional Leadership Fund, a powerful Republican super PAC — plunged into all but open warfare over messaging and money.

Trump headed for major confrontation with Democrats over tax returns
Democrats and President Trump are on a collision course over the president’s tax returns, one that could push them into a legal gray area and a high-stakes court battle.
Following their victory in the midterm elections, House Democrats indicated Wednesday that they are prepared to fight for the returns.
Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, said on a press call Wednesday that Democrats aim to use the power of the majority to request Trump's taxes immediately. “I think it’s important for our oversight to get those tax returns,” he said.

HILARIOUS POLL RESULT: You'll Never Guess Dem Voters' Preferred Candidate in 2020
In a hilarious result (at least if you’re a member of the GOP or a conservative), a new poll asked Democrat voters which well-known Democrat would be their preferred 2020 Democratic Party presidential nominee. Given the choice offered by the Hill.TV American Barometer poll among former vice-president Joe Biden, 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren, Vermont senator Bernie Sanders, New Jersey senator Cory Booker, California senator Kamala Harris and former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, the answer that was most popular with voters was — drum roll, please —
"None of the above."
That was a choice offered the voters, and out of 680 voters, “none of the above” was the clear winner, garnering 204 votes, almost one-third of the total. The runner up was Biden, with 168 votes; Bernie Sanders scooped up 123 votes; Clinton received 80, and the others were bunched together; Harris got 28; Bloomberg got 27; Warren got 26, and Booker got 24.
That roughly one-third of the total for “none of the above” held for both men and women; among men, of the 313 votes cast, “none of the above” received 100 votes; among women of the 367 votes cast, “none of the above” won 104 votes. Sanders finished second among men, closely followed by Biden, but Biden finished second among women, more than doubling the percentage of Sanders and Clinton.

Environmentalists Intervene In Cliven Bundy’s Battle Against Federal Land
The environmental group Center for Biological Diversity (CBD) intervened as a defendant in a Nevada rancher’s lawsuit against the state of Nevada over an Obama-era national monument.
CBD holds that Cliven Bundy — who led a standoff against federal authorities at his ranch in Nevada in 2014 — is relying on “fringe legal theories” to claim that Gold Butte National Monument was established illegally, according to CBD’s court filing.
“Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on 800,000 acres of public lands for two decades, racking up over a million dollars in fees and fines and trashing critical wildlife habitat,” KierĂ¡n Suckling, CBD’s executive director, said in a statement. “This case would be laughable if Bundy and his followers weren’t armed extremists with a violent history.”
Bundy holds that the national monument is “as illegal as it is unlawful” and will lock him out of land he has ranched and raised cattle on for decades, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Former NY AG Eric "We Could Rarely Have Sex Without Him Beating Me" Schneiderman Escapes Charges
Sometimes in bed, she recalls, he would be “shaking me and grabbing my face” while demanding that she repeat such things as “I’m a little whore.” She says that he also told her, “If you ever left me, I’d kill you.” -The New Yorker
Disgraced former New York Attorney General Eric Schniederman won't face charges after the prosecutor assigned to the case decided to close it following an "exhaustive review."
Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas announced her decision Thursday after interviewing four women who had romantic relationships or encounters with him - concluding that "legal impediments, including statutes of limitations, preclude criminal prosecution."
After establishing himself as a prominent fixture in the #MeToo movement, Schniederman resigned following a report in The New Yorker in which four women accused him of choking, hitting, and threatening them during brutal, alcohol-fueled sexual assaults.
Two of Schneiderman's accusers did not reveal their identities, while the other two, Michelle Manning Barish and Tanya Selvaratnam, have come forward in full. All four accuse the New York Attorney General of heinous and abusive sexual assaults - along with threats, mental abuse, and stealing prescription medication.
All have been reluctant to speak out, fearing reprisal. But two of the women, Michelle Manning Barish and Tanya Selvaratnam, have talked to The New Yorker on the record, because they feel that doing so could protect other women. They allege that he repeatedly hit them, often after drinking, frequently in bed and never with their consent. Manning Barish and Selvaratnam categorize the abuse he inflicted on them as “assault.” They did not report their allegations to the police at the time, but both say that they eventually sought medical attention after having been slapped hard across the ear and face, and also choked. Selvaratnam says that Schneiderman warned her he could have her followed and her phones tapped, and both say that he threatened to kill them if they broke up with him. (Schneiderman’s spokesperson said that he “never made any of these threats.”) -The New Yorker

Operation 'Enduring Defeat'? DoD Admits US May Need To "Stay In Iraq For Decades"
Why a self-reliant Iraqi military may take ‘years, if not decades’ and could require a ‘generation’ to reform
Despite reports that the Islamic State terrorist group has lost 99 percent of its territory and shifted to insurgent tactics in Iraq and Syria, a recent report said an enduring defeatof the organization could take “years, if not decades.”
This, according to Department of Defense information provided to investigators with the DoD Inspector General, is in large part due to what is still needed to make Iraqi security forces “self-reliant.”
“Systemic weaknesses remain, many of which are the same deficiencies that enabled the rise of ISIS in 2014,” according to the quarterly IG report on Operation Inherent Resolve, the counter-ISIS operation that spans Iraq and Syria.
Though top military officials recognized the gaps in capabilities among the Iraqi forces and that a “resurgence” of ISIS in the region is likely without sustained support and attention, congressional support for the fight against ISIS has decreased in the new fiscal year and an estimated $230 million in U.S. stabilization funds earmarked for Syria has been shifted to other countries.
The quarterly report on OIR noted that while security in cities such as the capital Baghdad has improved to such a degree that security forces have removed about 300 police and security checkpoints and 1,000 barriers that divided and walled off the city.
The report covered July to September.

FL SEN: Something Very Odd (And In Violation Of State Law) Is Going On In These Two Democratic Counties
UPDATE: GOP chair draws red line:
Something odd is occurring in Florida’s Senate race. Republican Gov. Rick Scott has declared victory over incumbent Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson. At the time, Scott led Nelson by a little over 34,500 votes. It’s now been cut to around 18,000. We’re heading into recount territory, as Scott’s lead has dwindled to 0.2 percent; less than half of one percent triggers an automatic recount. Yet, in two Democratic bastions—Palm Beach and Broward counties—they’re taking their sweet time counting the votes and not telling how many are left outstanding. A category four hurricane recently hit the state and yet every county, including the ones slammed by Michael, have all counted their votes. In Broward, the supervisor there isn’t keeping regular reports on the ballots that need to be counted. She also appears not to know and has been dumping thousands at a time in the late night hours.

American Elections Farce As Politicians Ignore Looming $100 Trillion Debt Crisis
In today's update we look at yet another 'Punch and Judy' American election farce which once again ignored the 'Elephant in the room' - the inevitable U.S. $121.7 trillion debt crisis and the coming global $250 trillion debt crisis.
We briefly look at the outcome of the elections, how markets have reacted in the short term and more importantly the long term outlook for markets and the dollar
We examine the “Punch and Judy” farce that were the American elections this week in which both the politicians, the media and the people again managed to completely ignore one of the greatest financial, economic and societal challenges facing the U.S. and indeed the world – the coming U.S. and global debt crisis.
Trump said he would erase America's debt in 8 years. It's now bigger than ever. When this promise was made, the national debt stood at $19 trillion. When Trump became President the US National debt was just below $20 trillion; it has since risen to $21.7 trillion.
During Obama’s presidency, the total national debt has risen from $10.6 trillion to nearly $20 trillion.
This debt is just the nominal national debt and there is also the not insignificant matter of the between $100 trillion and $200 trillion in unfunded liabilities – for medicare, medicaid and social security. As the Baby Boomers retire, these liabilities are coming due in the coming years.
The U.S., like the EU and most western nations, is “kicking the can down the road.” Consequently, a U.S. and global debt crisis looks likely in the coming months and years.

According to CNN, "all signs point to an investigation that is winding down."
Rumors over Mueller's final report comes as Democrats go into full panic mode over the appointment of Matt Whitaker - Sessions' former right-hand man, as interim Attorney General. Rep. Massie: ‘The Left Understands … You Win or Lose in the Schools
Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie said the left is committed to a strong and well-funded federal education department because progressives know they win by gaining control of public schools and in teaching children.
“The left understands that this is where you win or lose – in the schools and in the teaching of the children,” Massie said during a recent interview with the New American.
“The Department of Education was established by Jimmy Carter as a re-election tactic, as a ploy, and it’s been part of Ronald Reagan’s platform and the Republican platform to eliminate the Department of Education,” he explained, adding that heintroduced his bill to end the department by December 31, 2018, soon after the controversial confirmation of current education secretary Betsy DeVos

Dem Campaign Accused of Stealing Fla. Election
Democratic stronghold could decide election
The spokesman for Republican Gov. Rick Scott’s campaign has accused his opponent’s campaign of “preparing” to steal the election for Florida’s next senator.
Scott’s campaign spokesman, Chris Hartline, said Democrat incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (D-Fla.) “won’t be successful” in his attempt to steal the election in a Thursday tweet.
“Let’s be clear about the Nelson game-plan here,” he said. “They are preparing to try to steal this election in the courts because they couldn’t win it at the ballot box. They won’t be successful.”

Florida’s chief legal officer, Secretary of State Ken Detzner, told county election supervisors Thursday to plan for as many as three statewide recounts and for extraordinary public and media scrutiny in the state with the singular status of unusually close elections.

New Acting AG Matthew Whitaker is a Former Iowa Hawkeye Tight End - And Ready to Pancake Deep State!
Matthew Whitaker, the new Acting AG who replaced Jeff Sessions after Sessions turned in his resignation Wednesday afternoon, is a former Iowa Hawkeye Tight End in college who played in the Rose Bowl. Let’s hope he pancakes the Deep State defenders.
Whitaker is also taking over Rosenstein’s job overseeing the Mueller witch hunt. He is described as a “Trump loyalist” who has been privately described as the West Wing’s “eyes and ears” in the Justice Department, says the New York Times.
In August of 2017, Matthew Whitaker penned an op-ed for CNN titled, “Mueller’s Investigation of Trump is Going Too Far” wherein he argued the Special Counsel is roving outside of his jurisdiction to investigate Trump-Russia collusion.

Update: Twitter has suspended Smash Racism DC.
* * *
A group of Antifa protesters which confronted Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in a restaurant last month took to the residence of Tucker Carlson on Wednesday evening, ringing the doorbell of his upscale home while chanting: "Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!"
The threatening protest, claimed by Anti-fascist group Smash Racism DC , echoes June protests at the homes of Trump admin officials Kristjen Nielsen and Stephen Miller amid controversy over immigration policy.
One protestor can be seen ringing the doorbell outside Carlson's residence, while the rest of the group chanted anti-Carlson slogans.
The co-founder of Smash Racism DC, fired college professor Michael Isaacson, made headlines last year after tweeting about teaching "future dead cops" and assassinating both President Trump and VP Mike Pence the day before they won the 2016 election. Isaacson describes himself as a "pansexual" activist not limited to a gender or sexuality.

Bottom Line in Florida: Broward County Election Officials Have Been Violating the Law
By now, you know that Republicans are raising the alarm over what's happening in Florida, as the margins apparent election night GOP victories -- punctuated by Democratic concessions -- are being whittled down in a heavily blue county. As expected, Democrats are falsely accusing the GOP of wanting to stop the process of counting votes. Republicans counter by raising a top Broward County election official's known history of malfeasance and incompetence, aggressively accusing the opposition party of try to steal an election, noting that the county has "discovered" tens of thousands of votes since election day, refusing to say how many more there are, or where they've been. Some of this may be dismissed as partisan shouting over the dramatic denouement of yet another tight Florida contest. But it's important to understand that overwhelmingly liberal Broward and Palm Beach Counties have been in ongoing violation of election law. That is the central issue here:

Report: Mental Health Team Chose Not to Commit Ian Long Earlier This Year
A mental health crisis team chose not to involuntarily commit Thousand Oaks gunman Ian David Long for mental health evaluation and treatment in April of this year.
CBS News reports the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office had numerous encounters with former Marine Ian David Long before he opened fire inside the Borderline Bar & Grill Wednesday night. Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said they went to Long’s residence in April in response to a disturbance call. The Los Angeles Times reports that who went to Long’s house in April noted he was “irate and acting irrationally.”
A “mental health crisis team was called at that time and concluded that Long did not need to be taken into custody.” The mental health team had the option to issue an order to have Long “held for up to 72 hours” if they recognized him as a threat to himself or others.
Breitbart News reported that Long killed 12 innocents Wednesday night, including Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Helus. He used a legally owned .45 caliber Glock handgun to carry out his attack.

Under Obama, the CIA Suffered a 'Catastrophic' Disaster
This story, which broke on Nov. 2, got mighty little attention from the national media. I wonder why:
In 2013, hundreds of CIA officers — many working nonstop for weeks — scrambled to contain a disaster of global proportions: a compromise of the agency’s internet-based covert communications system used to interact with its informants in dark corners around the world. Teams of CIA experts worked feverishly to take down and reconfigure the websites secretly used for these communications; others managed operations to quickly spirit assets to safety and oversaw other forms of triage.
“When this was going on, it was all that mattered,” said one former intelligence community official. The situation was “catastrophic,” said another former senior intelligence official.
Now, who was president back then?
From around 2009 to 2013, the U.S. intelligence community experienced crippling intelligence failures related to the secret internet-based communications system, a key means for remote messaging between CIA officers and their sources on the ground worldwide. The previously unreported global problem originated in Iran and spiderwebbed to other countries, and was left unrepaired — despite warnings about what was happening — untilmore than two dozen sources died in China in 2011 and 2012 as a result, according to 11 former intelligence and national security officials.
The disaster ensnared every corner of the national security bureaucracy — from multiple intelligence agencies, congressional intelligence committees and independent contractors to internal government watchdogs — forcing a slow-moving, complex government machine to grapple with the deadly dangers of emerging technologies.
This is simply stunning. A rollup of networks across the world -- an event that began in Iran, where the Obama administration would soon enough be negotiating its much sought-after "nuclear deal framework," and ended with numerous deaths is the kind of thing of which intelligence nightmares and national-security disasters are made. One's first instinct is to look back and see who was CIA director during that period: Leon Panetta (Feb. 2009-June 2011); Michael Morell (acting director, July-Sept. 2011); David Petraeus (Sept. 2011-Nov. 2012); Morell again (acting, Nov. 2012-March 2013); and finally John Brennan, who served out the remainder of the Obama administration.
In other words, a lot of churn during what we now know was a tumultuous time. Oddly enough, one important national-security position experienced exactly zero churn during these years, that of Homeland Security adviser. Which chair was occupied by John Brennan, until he stepped in at the CIA.

Trump Opens Door To Declassifying Russia Docs, And His Acting Attorney General Could Be On Board
President Trump is “very seriously” considering whether to declassify a slew of FBI and Justice Department records related to the Russia investigation, he said Wednesday. That controversial proposal, which Trump has toyed with for months, may have a backer in Matthew Whitaker, the acting attorney general.
“Declassification, we’re looking at very seriously,” Trump told reporters in a press conference on Wednesday, just before Attorney General Jeff Sessions was forced to resign.
Whitaker, who served as Sessions’ chief of staff, will take over as acting attorney general. In that role, he will oversee the special counsel’s investigation into Trump associates’ links to Russia. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had directed the investigation because Sessions recused himself due to contacts he had with Russians while working on the Trump campaign.

Obituary of Dorothy Goetz: In Memory of Dorothy Marie Goetz 1930 - 2018
Dorothy Marie Goetz, 88, of Delmar, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at her home.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Bernard Olsen and Gudrun Marie Dahl Olsen.
Dorothy was a member of the Iris Society, the Herb Society, Wicomico Environmental Trust, and the Salisbury Zoo Docents. She was a licensed practical nurse for over 20 years, retiring in 1997 from the Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crafts, caring for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren and finding gems at thrift stores and auctions. Her favorite saying to her daughters was “eat it, it’ll put hair on your chest”. She was often referred to as a baby whisperer and she never met an animal that she didn’t like or enjoy spoiling with treats. She was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside, truly one of a kind who took life’s bumps in stride and became stronger as a result.
Dorothy is survived by five daughters, Diana Marie Osborne & her husband, Dan of Garner, NC Arlene Helen Pace & her husband, David of Marion, NC, Anita Lorraine Goetz of Asheville, NC, Jennifer Lynne Albero & her husband, Joe of Delmar, DE and Jean Elaine Nelson & her husband, Bob of Salisbury; 10 grandchildren, Lucas, Rachel, Drew, Sean, Rebecca, Ian, Graham, Kyle, Holly, and Andrew; and 11 great grandchildren and one very spoiled Yorkshire Terrier named Pink. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her lifetime friend, Pearl Jacobson, who wants Dorothy “to pick out a nice fluffy cloud for the two of them to relax on”. And she’s sorry that they were never able to finish their book they were going to write called, “We Die Laughing”.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by loving husband, Arthur Herbert Goetz in 2010; a daughter, Dot Ann Barber; and a brother, Robert Clarence Olsen.
There will be a graveside memorial service at a later date to be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Wicomico County Public Library 122 South Division Street Salisbury, MD 21801, the Wicomico County Humane Society 5130 Citation Drive Salisbury, MD 21804, or the Community Cat Coalition P.O. Box 1761 Berlin MD 21811.

Six Off-Duty Police Officers Were Inside Borderline Bar
THOUSAND OAKS, California — Six off-duty police officers were inside the Borderline Bar & Grill on Wednesday night when a gunman opened fire on those present.
Twelve people were killed as the gunman, who has been identified as David Ian Long, attacked the bar using a smoke device and a .45-caliber handgun. Many of those present were young people, on hand for “college night.”
Captain Garo Kuredjian, Media Relations Officer for the Ventura County Police Department, told Breitbart News on the scene that there had been three officers from the Oxnard Police Department and three from the Los Angeles Police Department inside the Borderline, all off duty.
They were likely unarmed, he said, though he could not yet confirm that information, nor could he yet say if and how they had assisted victims or confronted the gunman.
“Typically, if you go to a bar, if you’re going to be drinking," you would leave your gun at home, Kuredjian said.

VA bans medical employees from all union activities at work
The Department of Veterans Affairs announced Thursday it will no longer allow on-staff medical professionals to engage in taxpayer-funded union activities while at work.
The VA's policy change prevents more than 100,000 VA employees from taking official time. Of that group, about 430 are doing some work during working hours on union activities, including physicians, dentists, podiatrists, chiropractors, and optometrists.
The policy change, which takes effect Nov. 15, is a repudiation of Obama-era collective bargaining agreements that the VA reached with its workers. The department is currently in negotiations to change these agreements so that they are “reasonable, necessary and in the public interest.”

Larry King: "CNN Stopped Doing News A Long Time Ago"
Ex-longtime CNN talk show host Larry King dropped a bomb on his former network of 25 years, telling Russian state-owned RT America that "CNN stopped doing news a long time ago."
King's comments came just one day before CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta engaged in a verbal altercation with President Trump over a northbound Central American migrant caravan - batting a young White House aide's arm away as he refused to relinquish the microphone.

Thank you!!! And now we move forward...
THANK YOU!!!
Having had a few days to reflect on the election, I want to share both my appreciation and thoughts about this year’s campaign.
Thank you – to everyone who volunteered, donated, took time to share my Facebook posts or emails, and especially to those who voted. I know how busy everyone is – with work or families, and every little (or lot) of time you gave towards our victory means a lot to me.
It is OUR victory, and it did not come easily. We worked very hard – knocking on doors, phone banking, sign waving, and attending events throughout the District. No vote was taken for granted, and you joined me in reaching out to Republicans, Democrats, and Independents throughout the District.
I am so grateful that you stood by me when my opponent attacked with misleading and false information. You joined with me to stand up for strong fiscally conservative principles, from tax cuts to less wasteful government spending. I am committed to going back to Congress to continue working hard for you. It will not be easy in a Democrat-majority Congress, but I have experience with being the minority Republican in Maryland, so I will not be hindered and will continue to be your voice in Washington.
The next two years will bring us the challenges of liberal leadership trying to ram bad policies through Congress, and liberal attempts to weaken or attack President Donald Trump as he heads towards re-election. Election Day may be behind us, but now is not the time to sit back. We must build and strengthen a grassroots effort in our District that supports common sense solutions. We must continue to stand together, to unite behind common sense policies for our families and businesses.
I am so appreciative of your help in this election, and I hope to see you continue to be engaged and involved.

Now that the Broward County election officials have delayed their reporting of ballots for almost two days after the election, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has been furiously denouncing them on Twitter, writing that they are trying to steal victories from GOP candidates who won in the state.
Rubio started by noting that Bay County in Florida was hit by a category 4 hurricane roughly a month ago, yet still gave timely results after Tuesday’s election:

Twitter Yet to Suspend Antifa Account that Doxed Tucker, Hannity, Coulter
Twitter suspended an account linked to the domestic terrorist Antifa movement after it posted the personal address of Fox News host Tucker Carlson, and encouraged a harassment mob at his house. However, a second Antifa-linked account that posted the addresses of Carlson, along with Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, and Daily Caller co-founder Neil Patel, has yet to be suspended.
The first Twitter account, “Smash Racism DC,” published a number of tweets encouraging the far-left mob that descended on Tucker Carlson’s home in Washington D.C. earlier tonight. Per Gateway Pundit, an individual affiliated with DC Antifa said the mob harassment of Carlson was “just the beginning.”

Trump Proposes Ending Asylum For Illegal Immigrants
As was widely expected following his promises to stop crowds of illegal migrants from entering the US, President Trump on Thursday signed an order to end asylum for illegal immigrants before the caravans arrive. The order, which is expected to elicit howls of outrage from the left, will almost certainly be met with a court challenge, according to a Bloomberg report.
The Trump administration said it would prohibit people who illegally cross the U.S. border with Mexico from claiming asylum, as the president seeks to choke off migration from Latin America, Bloomberg News reports.
The change to asylum procedures was published Thursday by the Justice Department. President Donald Trump has blamed U.S. asylum rules for luring thousands of migrants a year from Central American countries. The new rule is almost certain to be challenged in courts.
According to an NBC News report published early Thursday afternoon, senior Trump administration officials expect to be sued over the "draconian" immigration order. But with Brett Kavanaugh cementing a conservative majority on the court, the administration expects that it will prevail, as even the pre-Kavanaugh split court allowed the administration some wiggle room to implement its controversial travel ban. However, some worry that Neil Gorsuch could throw a wrench in the works by opposing the proposal, as he appeared to have reservations about supporting another restrictive immigration ruling during arguments on another case earlier in the term, per the New York Times.

Mob Outside Tucker’s Home Has A History Of Harassment And Violence
Smash Racism DC, the mob group that assembled outside of Tucker Carlson’s home Wednesday evening, is responsible for other incidents of harassment and violence.
Carlson, co-founder of The Daily Caller and the host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” was at the Fox News studio when the mob showed up at his Washington, D.C., home.
Smash Racism DC posted videos of their members chanting “racist scumbag, leave town!” and “Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!” outside of his home. The mob also posted Carlson’s address on their Twitter account.
Carlson told The Washington Post that his wife was home alone at the time and heard the mob trying to break down the front door. Mrs. Carlson hid in the pantry and called 911.

The Battle for the 'Burbs
While the GOP did as well as could be expected in governors’ races (the loss of Scott Walker is a bitter blow) and secured a historic win in the Senate (netting a gain of three seats), the loss of the House is a significant setback for the party and perhaps the first sign of looming defeat in future years. Why? The areas where many Republicans lost were the suburbs, and that may portend trouble ahead.
The Wall Street Journal notes, “The GOP lost House seats in the suburbs of Denver, Dallas, Houston, Des Moines, Minneapolis (two seats), Kansas City, Chicago, Richmond, Phoenix, and even Oklahoma City. They also lost in the longtime GOP stronghold of Staten Island.”
There are a number of reasons the GOP lost in the suburbs. Pete Sessions blamed his loss in a Texas district he represented for 16 years on the late John McCain’s decisive vote against the limited ObamaCare repeal in 2017. Other Republicans may have lost in heavily red states for turning their back on President Donald Trump, or because they embraced him too tightly. In some cases, it was just lackluster candidates.
The fact is, the suburbs have become the crucial battleground...

Video: Texas Poll Worker Admits ‘Tons’ of Non-Citizens Allowed to Vote
James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas released undercover video Tuesday of a Texas poll worker admitting that “tons” of non-citizens are being allowed to vote.
In the video (embedded below), a woman tells two Travis County poll workers that her boyfriend, a DACA recipient, is in the car because he is nervous about not being able to vote. She let’s both poll workers know that the boyfriend is not a citizen.
“If he has his ID that’s all he needs — if he’s registered,” the first election worker reassures the Project Veritas journalist.
“It doesn’t matter that he’s not a citizen?” the journalist asks clearly.
“No, Don’t pay any attention to that. Bring him up here,” the election worker says.

John Stossel: Government fails the seriously mentally ill
They live on the street, often foraging through dumpsters. Some threaten us. Occasionally, they assault people.
Thousands of mentally ill people cycle in and out of hospital emergency rooms. They strain our medical system, scare the public and sometimes harm themselves.
Most, says DJ Jaffe, are schizophrenic or bipolar and have stopped taking their medication.
Jaffe gave up a successful advertising career to try to improve the way America deals with such people.
“John Hinckley shot President Reagan because he knew, not thought, knew that was the best way to get a date with Jodie Foster,” Jaffe tells me in my latest internet video collaboration with City Journal.

Jerry Nadler: Democrats Will 'Impeach Kavanaugh,' Investigate Trump
Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee who is favored to be the next House Judiciary Committee chairman, revealed in a phone conversation that Democrats plan to “impeach Kavanaugh” and investigate President Donald Trump for alleged Russian collusion.
The Federalist reported that Nadler was riding an Amtrak Acela train to Washington, DC, Wednesday to meet with his congressional staff and House Judiciary Committee staff when he revealed in a phone call with a friend the details of House Democrats’ plans for the next two years.

Video of Democrat Rashida Tlaib dancing wearing the Palestinian flag at a victory party emerged Tuesday evening, after she won a largely uncontested race for the open seat in Michigan’s heavily Democratic 13th congressional district.
Tlaib is one of two Muslim women elected to Congress on Tuesday, along with Ilhan Omar, who replaced outgoing Rep. Keith Ellison in Minnesota’s 5th congressional district. Ellison was the first Muslim elected to Congress. Both Tlaib and Omar have extreme anti-Israel views. Tlaib is the first Palestinian-American elected to Congress.

Baptist Preacher Mark Harris Elected Congressman In North Carolina
A Baptist preacher is the winner of a tight race to represent North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District, after his opponent conceded late Wednesday.
Mark Harris had pastored First Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, since 2005, until stepping down to run for office. His district extends over eight counties, and includes part of Charlotte.
After defeating incumbent Republican Rep. Robert Pittenger in the primary, Harris faced off against Democrat Dan McCready, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. The race was considered a “toss-up” and the results were very close, with Harris receiving 49.4 percent of the vote, and McCready receiving 48.8 percent.
At $4,881,775.46, McCready raised much more money than Harris, who apparently made due with $1,845,135.91. McCready also outspent Harris, spending $4,579,623.17 compared to Harris’ $1,678,953.02, according to the Federal Election Commission.

Colorado Elects First Openly Gay Governor In U.S. History As The State Persecutes Christians
"I think it really gives Colorado an opportunity to stick a thumb in the eye of Mike Pence"
The state of Colorado made U.S. history on Tuesday night by electing the first openly gay man to the governorship.
According to the New York Post, "Democrat Jared Polis, a congressman from the state’s second district, received 51 percent of the vote compared with state treasurer Walker Stapleton’s 45 percent."
Polis became the first openly gay man in U.S. history to be elected governor of a state, though he is not the first known openly gay man to hold that office. In 2004, New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey came out as gay while in office after being elected.

Russ and Sam
Russ and Sam, two friends, met in the park every day to feed the pigeons, watch the squirrels and discuss world problems.
One day Russ didn't show up. Sam didn't think much about it and figured maybe he had a cold or something.
But after Russ hadn't shown up for a week or so, Sam really got worried. However, since the only time they ever got together was at the park, Sam didn't know where Russ lived, so he was unable to find out what had happened to him.
A month had passed, and Sam figured he had seen the last of Russ, but one day, Sam approached the park and -- lo and behold -- there sat Russ!
Sam was very excited and happy to see him and told him so. Then he said, 'For crying out loud Russ, what in the world happened to you?'
Russ replied, 'I have been in jail.'
'Jail!' cried Sam. What in the world for?'
'Well,' Russ said, 'you know Sue, that cute little blonde waitress at the coffee shop where I sometimes go?'
'Yeah,' said Sam, 'I remember her. What about her?
'Well, one day she filed rape charges against me; and, at 89 years old, I was so proud that when I got into court, I pleaded 'guilty'.
'The damn judge gave me 30 days for perjury.’
