New Jersey judge, during DUI arrest, tells officers he is a 'f----ing judge' and will 'fight' them

A New Jersey judge barred from hearing DWI cases after previously being accused in one is heard telling officers he is a “f----ing judge” in newly-released video of the 2016 incident.

Wilfredo Benitez, a municipal judge in East Orange, Belleville and Bloomfield, was found passed out in his vehicle in Teaneck with the car's emergency lights flashing in the early morning hours of Nov. 12, and was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, NJ.com reported, citing court records. Benitez blew a blood-alcohol level two times the legal limit in a police sobriety test, it added, but eventually was acquitted in the case due to flaws in the investigation.

“You are wasting your time and you know it!” Benitez is heard telling a New Jersey state trooper as he is being read his Miranda rights. “I will f----ing fight you, and you know you’re being a d---.”

Disabled Veterans Waited Up to Seven Months for VA to Fix Their Wheelchairs

Disabled veterans had to wait more than two months for the government to fix their wheelchairs, leading to some veterans confined to beds because of mismanagement at the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to a new audit.

The inspector general for Veterans Affairsreported this week on problems at VA medical facilities in its southeast network with its repair system for scooters and wheelchairs. One vet waited as long as 210 days—roughly 7 months—for his power wheelchair to be fixed.

The inspector general initiated the audit after Senate committee chairman Johnny Isakson (R., Ga.) heard of delays at the Atlanta VA. The audit found that the problem was widespread at eight facilities within the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) in the southeast.

The audit revealed 40 percent of repair orders were delayed, taking an average 69 days to complete.

Clinton Responds to Backlash From India Interview: ‘I Meant No Disrespect to Any Individual or Group’

Two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton posted on Facebook Saturday to try and explain her widely-criticized comments made in India about Donald Trump voters and his presidential campaign.

Clinton wrote that during the interview, she was asked whether Trump is a virus or a symptom of something deeper going on in American society.

"My first instinct was to defend Americans and explain how Donald Trump could have been elected," Clinton said.

During her comments in India, which were criticized by both the right and left, Clinton said in 2016 she was successful in parts of the country that are "optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving-forward" while Trump won more "backward" regions. "His whole campaign, ‘Make America Great Again,’ was looking backward," she said. "You know, ‘you didn’t like black people getting rights, you don’t like women getting jobs, you don’t want to see that Indian-American succeeding more than you are, whatever your problem is, I’m going to solve it.'"

People Who Enjoy Cleaning The House Are Happier, More Relaxed, Survey Finds

Need to inject some positivity into your home? A little spring cleaning might just do the trick, a new study finds.

A household name in the cleaning industry recently released findings from a multi-faceted study it conducted in which the findings suggest that keeping a neat living space promotes empathy.

The study’s first component consisted of an online survey of 2,000 American adults which found that those who enjoyed the act of cleaning were 25% happier that those who did not.

Furthermore, those who frequently spruced up the house didn’t seem to experience diminishing returns: for each extra hour of cleaning a week, the average respondent’s happiness increased by 53%.

Regular cleaning was also associated with other positive health outcomes, including improved relaxation (indicated by 80% of respondents), heightened focus (77%), better sleep (72%), and increased productivity (72%), the researchers found.

Trump Hires Former US Attorney Who Said President Was "Framed" By The FBI

Update: Trump lawyer Sekulow confirms that Mr. Digenova is to join Trump's legal team.

As we detailed earlier, in the latest sign that the conclusion of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe is still a ways off, the New York Times reported Monday that the president has decided to hire another lawyer to his legal team.

Trump is reportedly bringing on Joseph diGenova, a longtime Washington lawyer who has pushed the theory that the FBI and Justice Department framed Trump in their push to remove him from office.

DiGenova isn't expected to take a lead role, but he is expected to be a "more aggressive player on the president's legal team", joining in the middle of negotiations with the special counsel over the parameters of a possible interview with the president.

Supreme Court: Arizona Must Provide Driver’s Licenses to Illegals

High court refused to hear appeal to 9th Circuit Court ruling

The state of Arizona must allow illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses, the Supreme Court indicated Monday.

The high court refused to take up an appeal of a 9th Circuit Court ruling, allowing the lower court’s decision to stand.

The ACLU launched a lawsuit after Arizona stopped issuing licenses to DACA recipients following President Obama’s mandate protecting so-called Dreamers from deportation.

Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer had argued the ban on illegals obtaining licenses helped prevent social services fraud.

San Francisco’s 9th Circuit Court of Appeals interpreted Arizona’s decision as an attempt to supersede federal immigration law, claiming the state was developing its own definition of legal immigrants, Reuters reports.

School resource officer credited with stopping Maryland school shooter

ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. - A school resource officer is being credited with stopping the gunman in a shooting that injured two students at a St. Mary’s County high school Tuesday morning.

Authorities say a 17-year-old student fired shots inside a hallway at Great Mills High School at about 7:55 a.m. Deputies said the shooter, identified as Austin Rollins, shot a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, both of whom are also students.

School Resource Officer Deputy 1st Class Blaine Gaskill was alerted to the shooting and according to Sheriff Tim Cameron, he immediately responded and engaged Rollins. Sheriff Cameron said Deputy Gaskill fired at the shooter, and almost simultaneously, the shooter also fired. It’s not clear yet whether Deputy Gaskill’s round hit the shooter.

Study Confirms Facebook's Leftist Bias

Facebook's recent algorithm change is designed to limit and censor conservative news content.

A recently released study by The Western Journal confirms what many conservative sites have observed — that Facebook’s “trusted source” algorithm is biased against their content and has dramatically and negatively impacted their traffic.

The study noted the following example of Facebook’s blatant leftist bias:

Case in point: Two rival publishers in New York City, the New York Post and the New York Daily News, are similar in many ways, except for their editorial slants. The Post is well-known as a right-leaning outlet, whereas the Daily News has an established left-leaning slant. For example, the Daily News recently ran a headline after the Parkland shooting that read, “Brave Florida survivors plan day of action for gun sanity and to call out ‘blood on hands’ of NRA puppets.”

Headlines like that garnered the Daily News a 24.18 percent increase in traffic from Facebook, while the right-leaning Post’s traffic dropped 11.44 percent in the same time period.

Hillary Clinton Doubles Down on Victimitis

Hillary took to Facebook not to apologize but to defend the reason she berated white women voters.

Proving for the zillionth time that she is quite literally incapable of even pretending to offer a sincere apology, Hillary Clinton took to Facebook this weekend not to express genuine regret for her recent tawdry remarks against white women — she implied most of them are enslaved to their husbands’ political perspectives — but to defend her tirade.

Hillary posted an 862-word screed on St. Patrick’s Day, writing, “I said throughout the campaign, Trump’s message was dark and backwards looking. … I never accepted that and never will.” As if to further jab people who elected Donald Trump as president, she also complained that he “has done nothing positive to ease the pain of the people who most strongly supported him, from the loss of jobs in coal country to the opioid epidemic to the tax bill that increases the debt by $1.5 trillion with a massive corporate tax cut, only 13% of which went to workers in the form of bonuses or pay raises.” Right — that argument again.

Addressing women voters specifically, she noted again “that there is anecdotal evidence and some research to suggest that women are unfortunately more swayed by men than the other way around.” She then argued:

74% Of Americans Believe The "Deep State" Is Running The Country

For the past two years, the long-running narrative, at least that promulgated by the mainstream media which continues to "explain away" Hillary Clinton's loss to Donald Trump, is that Americans had fallen for a massive, long-running fake news scam (in part aided and abetted by the likes of Facebook), which boosted Trump's popularity at the expense of Hillary's as part of some giant "Russian collusion" conspiracy theory between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin (which Mueller was supposed to uncover, but has instead shifted toinvestigating obstruction, seemingly unable to find anything).

But what if that entire narrative is dead wrong: what if Americans have become so skeptical in the government process and structure, they never needed a "fake news" boost to vote for an establishment outsider?

According to a new poll, that's precisely the case because a supermajority of Americans believes the faction of unelected officials, known as the deep state, is orchestrating policy in Washington, D.C. and effectively running the nation.

The Monmouth University Polling Institute found that no less than 74% of Americans believe in a "deep state" when it is described as a collection of unelected officials running policy. Only 21% do not believe this kind of group exists.

As a result of countless "conspiracy theories" being proven as facts in recent years, chief among which the Edwards Snowden revelations which exposed the NSA as nothing short of "big brother", and the Wikileaks disclosures which revealed how the Democratic Party colluded against Bernie Sanders to promote Clinton's candidacy and countless more such examples, fully 8-in-10 believe that the U.S. government currently monitors or spies on the activities of American citizens, including a majority (53%) who say this activity is widespread and another 29% who say such monitoring happens but is not widespread. Just 14% say this monitoring does not happen at all. Shockinly, there were no substantial partisan differences in these results.

Raleigh police are asking Google to provide user data for all people near crime scenes

Police in Raleigh, North Carolina, have presented Google with warrants to obtain data from mobile phones from not just specific suspects who were in a crime scene area, but from the mobile phones of all people in the area, reports Raleigh television affiliate WRAL. The request will trouble Fourth Amendment advocates as it could be seen that police are carrying out unreasonable searches on people who just happened to be in the area at the time the crimes were committed. And the area sizes the police requesting the data on are not small. In one instance, police requested user data from Google for anyone within a 17-acre area. For its part, Google has not revealed whether it has complied with the police request.

Alan Dershowitz Blasts McCabe And Comey As ‘Inconsistent’ While Under Oath

Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz said former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey and former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe were highly “inconsistent” while testifying under oath.

Host of Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” Maria Bartiromo asked Dershowitz whether McCabe or Comey should face perjury charges and he said at least one of them is lying.

He then ripped into Comey for leaking information through a friend in academia and said he lacked the courage to express his own views.

South Africa’s White Farmers

Violent attacks against South Africa’s white farmers are on the rise, according to Paul Toohey, a reporter from Australia’s Daily Telegraph, who traveled to the country.

Last month, South Africa’s parliament voted to allow white-owned land expropriation without compensation. That followed South Africa’s new President Cyril Ramaphosa’s pledge to return the lands owned by white farmers since the 1600s to the black citizens of the country. He claimed the land was “taken under colonialism and apartheid.”

“This is normal in South Africa to be attacked on a farm,” a 39-year old farmer Berdus Henrico told the reporter.

Berdus and his 51-year old partner Estelle Nieuwenhuys have been raided in the Limpopo province. The farmer has three bullet wounds – two through his shoulder and one through his face that came out the back of his neck.

“They took my hunting gun, my shotgun, two cell phones, our DVD player, our TV,” said Berdus, adding that Estelle was praying, out loud, begging them to stop.

“They want money and they want guns. They want the people off the land so as they can go on like they want to. They want it here like it was in Zimbabwe a few years ago when they chased all the whites out and let it go to the ground.”

According to AfriForum, a group that was set up to draw attention to the farmers’ plight, there were a record 404 farm attacks in 2017, four times the number recorded in the country a decade ago. The 2018 figures are expected to easily top last year’s numbers.

How Much Hillary's India Tour Cost Taxpa

Hillary Clinton traveled to India last week to give a speech and go sightseeing.

Clinton made news during her trip for a controversial speech she gave. During her speech, Clinton proposed that Trump won the 2016 election because of “backwards” voters in America, white women were told by their husbands how to vote and that people who don’t like “black people getting rights” or “women getting jobs” voted against her.

The trip is costing national Democrats back home, who are having to pay for the isolating comments by their past presidential nominee. Many Democrats have distanced themselves from Clinton in the wake of the comments. Clinton’s trip is costing the taxpayers as well. According to the Washington Free Beacon, Clinton’s travel will cost the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars.

Mueller’s Investigation Flouts Justice Department Standards

Richard Gates was charged with $100 million in financial crimes — and pled guilty to two minor offenses, one of them highly questionable.

These columns have many times observed Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s failure to set limits on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. To trigger the appointment of a special counsel, federal regulations require the Justice Department to identify the crimes that warrant investigation and prosecution — crimes that the Justice Department is too conflicted to investigate in the normal course; crimes that become the parameters of the special counsel’s jurisdiction.

Rosenstein, instead, put the cart before the horse: Mueller was invited to conduct a fishing expedition, a boundless quest to hunt for undiscovered crimes, rather than an investigation and prosecution of known crimes.

That deviation, it turns out, is not the half of it. With Rosenstein’s passive approval, Mueller is shredding Justice Department charging policy by alleging earth-shattering crimes, then cutting a sweetheart deal that shields the defendant from liability for those crimes and from the penalties prescribed by Congress. The special counsel, moreover, has become a legislature unto himself, promulgating the new, grandiose crime of “conspiracy against the United States” by distorting the concept of “fraud.”

Why does the special counsel need to invent an offense to get a guilty plea? Why doesn’t he demand a plea to one of the several truly egregious statutory crimes he claims have been committed?

Good questions.

Trump Loses The Drug Dealer Vote: Death Penalty Will Be Part Of White House Opioid Response

When President Donald Trump once again praised Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte for his encouragement of the extrajudicial killings of drug dealers and drug users last week, many in the audience in Moon Township, PA., probably thought this was more authoritarian posturing from a president who has made no secret of his respect for strongmen like Duterte, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"I don't know if it's popular. I don't now if that's unpopular," Trump said, after asserting that some drug dealers are responsible for thousands of deaths.

But it looks like Trump will soon learn the answer to what many probably thought was a rhetorical question.

Because as it turns out, Trump was actually providing a sneak peak into his long-awaited comprehensive plan to combat the opioid epidemic.

Take 90 Seconds Out Of Your Day To Watch This Electric Brawl At An IHOP

Top of the morning to everyone. I hope your St. Patrick’s Day weekend was a rousing success and your NCAA basketball brackets are still intact. If not, I have the perfect pick-me-up. Take heart in knowing that one IHOP manager’s weekend was definitely worse than yours.

It all started around midnight in Memphis, Tennessee, on early Friday morning. Police responded to a cry for help around 12:40 a.m., where they say a manager asked a “rowdy party of five” to leave the premises before a fight broke out.

But as you can see from the video below, the phone call didn’t do too much to help de-escalate the situation. Right after the police were called, a massive beatdown ensued. It seems the brawl involved more than the original party of five, which is to be expected. Who among us doesn’t feel a little testy while dining on some late night pancakes? Who among us hasn’t felt compelled to hurl a few chairs after midnight?

BIPARTISANSHIP ALERT: Small Business Relief Tax Credit

Important Legislation Offers Tax Relief For Small Businesses Forced To Comply With Burdensome Paid Sick Leave Law

“I am again calling on the legislature to pass our Small Business Relief Tax Credit, which will provide our small business job creators the support they need to provide paid leave benefits and continue being successful." - Governor Larry Hogan, February 8, 2018

Small Business Relief Tax Credit

Governor Hogan’s Proposed Legislation Would Provide $100 Million Over Five Years In Tax Credits To Businesses With Fewer Than 50 Employees That Provide Paid Leave Benefits To Their Employees; Proposal Would Help Small Businesses Being Burdened By Paid Sick Leave Law Passed By Maryland Legislature. “The Department shall: approve all applications that qualify for a tax credit certificate under this subsection on a first-come, first-served basis… The total amount of credit certificates issued by the Department under this subsection may not exceed: for taxable year 2018, $5,000,000; for taxable year 2019, $15,000,000; for taxable year 2020, $35,000,000; for taxable year 2021, $75,000,000; and for taxable year 2022 and each taxable year thereafter, $100,000,000.” (“Senate Bill 134,” Maryland General Assembly, 1/11/18)

For each taxable year, the credit allowed under this section may not exceed the lesser of: an amount that equals $1,000 for each qualified employee; or an amount that equals the total amount of qualified employer benefits accrued by all qualified employees of the small business.” (“Senate Bill 134,” Maryland General Assembly, 1/11/18)

The Capital Gazette Editorial Board Called Governor Hogan’s Paid Sick Leave Proposal “Superior,” Specifically Noting The Governor’s Inclusion Of Tax Credits For Small Businesses. “In truth, Hogan’s proposal is superior to the Democrats’ legislation in several ways, not just in offering tax credits but in streamlining the paperwork and allowing the accrued leave to be used for any reason — a simple, nonintrusive policy toward which many employers are moving anyway.” (Editorial, “There’s Room For Compromise On Paid Sick Leave,” Capital Gazette, 12/1/17)

7 Largest Congressional OOC Settlements

A House of Representatives fund paid $1 million to secretly settle complaints by staffers. Here are the largest.

The House has disclosed settling 41 complaints of workplace mistreatment for a total of some $1 million since 1997. The list published by the House does not include names, but The Daily Caller News Foundation used court documents to reveal the offices behind some settlements and then cross-referenced with news articles to rank them. The list also omits the largest settlement the settlement office ever handled, involving Rep. Alcee Hastings.

TheDCNF’s analysis found that a seldom-mentioned settlement involving the office of Rep. Gregory Meeks appears to be one of the largest settlements in decades while also involving some of the most serious allegations — including not just sexual harassment, but firing a staffer who said she was physically sexually assaulted by someone connected to a campaign donor.

The data is entirely based on Office of Compliance (OOC) payouts, and so omits some of the most notable settlements, such as one by Rep. John Conyers. The omission is because the Committee on House Administration disclosed only payments that came out of the OOC’s special settlement fund, whereas numerous members hid settlements in their office budgets. TheDCNF analysis of the list of OOC settlements found that much of the $1 million comes from a handful of large settlements, while others are for only a few thousand dollars.

Sick air travelers mostly likely to infect next row: study

People who fly on airplanes while contagious can indeed get other people sick, but the risk is mainly to those seated next to them or in the adjacent row, US researchers said Monday.

The study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) is the first to quantify the odds of getting sick based on a passenger's proximity to an infectious person.

Researchers studied 10 transcontinental flights and meticulously tracked passenger movements to estimate the likelihood of common respiratory infections like severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and influenza, which are spread by tiny droplets in the air and on surfaces.

"Passengers seated within one row and within two seats laterally of the infected passenger had an 80 percent or greater probability of becoming infected," said the study.

"For all other passengers, the probability of infection was less than three percent."

Walkouts Assault Liberty in More Ways Than One

Liberty-loving Americans must make a commitment to be active in demanding government that honors the constitutional rights of its citizens, and we must work to that end ourselves in our communities.

While the next few paragraphs will analyze the recent student walkouts in support of gun laws, proceed with the frame of mind that the rights of Americans — the fundamental ingredients of a free people — are in danger. This is neither fear-mongering nor hyperbole. All the evidence supports that those of us who love Liberty must immediately rise to the occasion to be guardians of that Liberty — or be the generation that will witness them become memories.

Not only are we watching, yet again, the Democrats infringe upon the Second Amendment — to rightfully bear arms, not to hunt, but to protect oneself, one’s property and defend one’s rights — but America is witnessing the First Amendment under direct assault by the same group of political activists whose agenda is clearly to make every citizen a ward of the State.

Nationwide, student walkouts occurred last Wednesday in many schools. These planned protests were meant to “demand stricter gun laws,” as reported by CNN, and to “protest gun violence,” according to NPR. The opening line of the USA Today article written just a week after the Parkland, Florida, school shooting was on target in noting the issue at hand was “the debate over gun ownership rights.”

Yet the cause of the Parkland massacre is now known to have resulted from failure after failure of current laws, systems and people in place to protect innocents..

High School Students Allegedly Suspended for Photo of Visit to Gun Range

Two High School students in New Jersey’s Lacey School District were allegedly suspended for posting a Snapchat photo of a visit to the gun range.

The school immediately faced a backlash over the suspensions, with the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) sending a cease and desist letter to the school district.

Feds expand probe into Wells Fargo sales practices

Wells Fargo’s regulatory problems are getting worse — while its CEO’s pay is getting fatter.

The Department of Justice has expanded its probe of the bank into its sales practices, according to a report on Friday — increasing the chances its reputation will take another hit.

The widening probe, first reported by the Wall Street Journal, comes one day after the bank’s CEO defended a proposed 35 percent pay raise for his work last year.

The DOJ, as well as the Securities and Exchange Commission, has interviewed managers in the Phoenix area from the bank’s wealth management division, which typically caters to wealthier clients, the Journal reported.

Residents Of This State Pay The Highest Taxes In The US

Last week we reported that residents of New Jersey were about to enter the 9th circle of financial hell as the state, fast approaching a fiscal, economic and budgetary catastrophe, was preparing to raise taxes on "almost everything."

But if New Jerseyans are approaching a tax inferno, residents of Illinois are already there.

According to a recent analysis by WalletHub, Illinoisans pay $8,300 per home in various state and local taxes, more than any other state in the nation. In the annual ranking of taxpayer burden by state, WalletHub found that Illinois households give up just under 15% of their annual earnings to pay state and local taxes, over 1 percent more than residents of the second highest taxed state, Connecticut with 13.85%. Of course, they also pay federal taxes on top of that.

Antidepressants saved my life — and destroyed it

By the time Lauren Slater was 24, she had been hospitalized five times for attempted suicide. She was deeply depressed, she cut herself and she obsessive compulsively tapped objects to calm her overtaxed nervous system. So when Prozac came on the market in 1988, her psychiatrist recommended she try it.

“I knew that living the way I was living, there was nothing good about it,” Slater told The Post. “I was unable to give to others or myself. I was unable to work or write. I couldn’t do anything meaningful.”

She filled her prescription, and the result was “the most miraculous thing that ever happened to me,” she says. Within three days, her obsessive-compulsive symptoms began to recede, and within five days they were gone. By day 10, she was actually feeling good. “It got stronger and stronger, and pretty soon I wasn’t depressed anymore,” she says. “I was happy, and I had never been happy before. I was without anxiety, without mental illness.”
