7 Things You Need To Know About The Healthcare Town Hall Protesters

Congress is currently in recess, so the left-wing is taking advantage by taking over town halls and local meetings with Republican members of Congress in attempts to pressure them into opposing President Donald Trump, especially on repealing Obamacare. Trump lashed out at these protests:
The so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous cases, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!
Where are these protests stemming from and what are the details of their actions?
Here are seven things you need to know about them.

1. The roots of these protests can be traced to a George Soros-funded organization called Indivisible Guide. In his February 13 LevinTV episode, Mark Levin highlighted the organization's video that essentially provides a guide on how to cause chaos at town halls as a means of opposing Trump:

Caretaker performed sexy dance on 100-year-old with dementia

SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) - A caretaker at an assisted living center who police say was filmed performing a sexually provocative dance on a 100-year-old resident was doing it as a prank and trying to make the man feel good, her attorney said.

Brittany Fultz, 26, pleaded not guilty to gross sexual imposition Tuesday. Police said she showed her breasts and buttocks while she danced in front of and on the man in December.

Investigators said the man has dementia, but Fultz's attorney said the resident could have told her to stop but didn't.

Teen charged with lying about being raped by college football players

Two college football players who were suspended from their team last year and saw their scholarships revoked after rape accusations have been cleared by police after authorities say their accuser recanted her story.

Nikki Yovino, 18, of South Setauket, NY, has been charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence in connection to an incident at a Sacred Heart University football party in October, the Connecticut Post reports.

When pressed about inconsistencies in her original statement, Yovino admitted that she made up the rape allegations against the two football players in hopes of gaining sympathy from another man — a prospective boyfriend, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

Husband posts heartfelt message to wife carrying baby without brain to full term

While in the midst of a heart wrenching situation, one man took to Facebook to post his admiration for his wife who is carrying their daughter to full term, despite the fact that doctors predict the baby won’t survive.

The husband, Royce Young, posted the heartfelt message about his wife Keri who at the time was carrying their daughter named Eva. The couple learned that their daughter would be born without a brain and would not survive much longer after her birth.

While Royce was overcome with emotion when the doctor broke the news, he writes, Keri asked through tears “If I carry her to full term, can we donate her organs?”

Donald Trump, Saudi Arabia, And The Petrodollar

Obama pulled out his veto pen 12 times during his presidency.

Congress only overrode him once…

In late 2016, Obama vetoed the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA). The bill would allow 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia in US courts.

With only months left in office, Obama wasn’t worried about the political price of opposing the bill. It was worth protecting Saudi Arabia and the petrodollar system, which underpins the US dollar’s role as the world’s premier currency.

Congress didn’t see it that way though. Those up for reelection couldn’t afford to side with Saudi Arabia over US victims. So Congress voted to override Obama’s veto, and JASTA became the law of the land.

The Saudis, quite correctly, see this as a huge threat. If they can be sued in US courts, their vast holdings of US assets are at risk of being frozen or seized.

The Saudi foreign minister promptly threatened to sell all of the country’s US assets.

Basically, Saudi Arabia was threatening to rip up the petrodollar arrangement, which underpins the US dollar’s role as the world’s premier currency.
Donald Trump and the Saudis

Unlike every president since the petrodollar’s birth, Donald Trump is openly hostile to Saudi Arabia.

Recently he put this out on Twitter:

Dopey Prince @Alwaleed_Talal wants to control our U.S. politicians with daddy’s money. Can’t do it when I get elected.

Whistleblower: VA about to trash hundreds of thousands of veteran applications

A whistleblower in the Atlanta office of the Department of Veterans Affairs warned President Trump on Tuesday that the VA is preparing to throw out hundreds of thousands of benefit applications due to an error the VA itself made during the Obama administration.

Scott Davis, a well-known whistleblower who has testified before Congress, wrote an open letter to Trump saying that more than 500,000 of these applications might be scuttled in March unless he intervenes.

"I am sending this whistleblower disclosure to your office due to the urgent need for executive intervention," he wrote. "VA is planning on declaring over 500,000 Veteran applications for VA health care as incomplete and abandoned at the end of March 2017."

The No. 1 killer in US hospital is… secrecy

What’s the biggest killer in hospitals? Secrecy. That’s the takeaway from the feds — specifically, the Government Accountability Office and the Food and Drug Administration.

Both agencies report that hospitals are failing to disclose when medical devices injure or kill patients by spreading cancer cells throughout their bodies or infecting them with superbugs. Federal regulation requires hospitals and doctors to notify the FDA of these “adverse events” immediately, but that regulation often goes ignored.

“There is limited to no reporting” from some hospitals, says an FDA official. When hospitals stay mum, future patients become the victims.

Women with noncancerous growths called uterine fibroids, for example. More than 70 percent of women over 50 suffer from them. Until recently, as many as 50,000 women a year were treated with a surgical device called a morcellator — a long tube with a spinning blade on the end to shred fibroids — even though hospitals already knew or had reason to suspect using the device might spread cancer in women with undetected tumors.

Chicago public schools say they will keep ICE agents out

Chicago Public Schools say they will deny federal immigration agents access to district buildings and personnel unless served with a criminal warrant, the latest in a series of steps taken by US school officials to protect undocumented students.

School districts from Pennsylvania to California have stepped up efforts to allay fear and uncertainty in immigrant communities over Trump administration directives that would significantly expand the power of immigration officers and could set the stage for mass detentions and deportations.

Following a December resolution affirming its commitment to a "safe and welcoming" teaching environment for all students, Chicago Public Schools this week sent a memo to principals who "expressed concern and anxiety" about immigration issues and guidance on handling interactions with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Council Approves ‘Game-Changer’ Truck For Beach Trash Collection

OCEAN CITY — Resort officials on Tuesday approved a complicated deal to create a hybrid, state-of-the-art trash collection truck called a “game changer” for how Ocean City collects the mountains of trash each night from the iconic blue barrels on the beach.

Last year, the Mayor and Council approved the purchase of a beach trash collection truck budgeted at $235,000, but when the bids were solicited, the lowest bid came in at around $298,000, or about $63,000 over the estimate. However, Public Works Director Hal Adkins, with assistance from Procurement Manager Catrice Parsons and Budget Manager Jenny Knapp, have come up with a plan to convert a heavy-duty, four-wheel drive truck the town took delivery of last week into a new state-of-the-art trash collection truck that could be able to empty all of the blue trash barrels on the beach practically in one fell swoop each night.

The total cost of the truck and the necessary conversions, including a massive compactor mounted on the back, will come in at around $298,000, or $63,000 more than what was budgeted, but the town realized a windfall of around $54,000 from the sale of another truck that has outlived its usefulness on the Internet site govdeals.com, which will offset the cost of the new trash collector, leaving a difference of around $9,000 to be covered by the town.

Congressman Andy Harris Responds to the Trump Administration’s Decision on School Bathroom Policies

WASHINGTON, DC: Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) released the following statement regarding the Trump administration’s decision to return authority over school bathroom policies to state and local governments.

“I applaud the new Trump administration for walking back the previous administration’s ‘bathroom guidance’ letter concerning gender identity in elementary schools. With our public education system falling behind that of our global competitors, I am glad we will no longer be distracted by such issues. As I pointed out in my letter to the superintendents of public schools in Maryland’s 1st District, the Obama guidance most likely wasn’t legally binding, since it clearly did not follow the clear meaning of the underlying statute, and would most likely have been overturned by the courts.”

Feds foil plans for ISIS-inspired attack ‘ten times’ worse than Boston bombing

An American-born citizen was arrested Friday for allegedly plotting an ISIS style President’s Day attack “ten times” worse than the April 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that killed three people and injured more than 260 others.

Robert Lorenzo Hester Jr., 25, of Columbia, Missouri, was taken into federal custody as the result of an FBI undercover operation that started months ago. Authorities said Hester had been communicating with two undercover FBI agents, who he thought to be ISIS sympathizers, since October to carry out terror attacks on buses, trains and a train station in Kansas City, Missouri, the Kansas City Star reported.

“First on social media, then during face-to-face meetings with the undercover FBI employees, this defendant repeatedly expressed his intent to engage in acts of violent jihad against the United States,” U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri Tammy Dickinson said. “He believed he was part of an ISIS-sponsored terrorist attack that would result in the deaths and injuries of many innocent victims.”

Prediction: 2017 Will Be a Banner Year for Blue Crabs

If the early hit of spring sunshine has you thinking crab season, you have cause to be optimistic. Seafood experts are predicting that 2017 will be a big year for the crown jewel of crustaceans—the Chesapeake blue crab.

"Going into this year we've hypothesized that this year will be even better than last year," says John Rorapaugh, the long-time sustainability director for ProFish in Ivy City. He says 2013, 2014, and 2015 were, by contrast, difficult years. The seafood wholesaler tracks how much blue crabs cost each month during crab season, which is officially from April 1 through Dec. 15. When crabs are scarce in the Chesapeake Bay, it drives up the price per bushel.

Furthermore, the wholesale price of blue crabs correlates with their quality. "The more expensive they are, the less quality they have, at least in the peak of the season," Rorapaugh says. "When they're abundant, they're usually the best."

OCC student suspended after filming teacher saying Trump's election was 'an act of terrorism'

COSTA MESA – An Orange Coast College student who secretly videotaped his instructor making anti-Trump statements was suspended from school and told to write a letter of apology as well as a three-page essay about the incident.

The college suspended Caleb O’Neil for the current semester and the summer term, saying he violated a Coast Community College District policy prohibiting recording someone on district property without that person’s consent.

“It is my hope that this experience will lead you to truly think through your actions and the consequences of those actions when making decisions in the future,” Victoria Lugo, interim dean of students, wrote in a Feb. 9 letter to O’Neil, whose video clips of instructor Olga Perez Stable Cox in December went viral.

House IT Staffers Owed Money To Hezbollah-Linked Fugitive

Congressional aides suspected of criminally misusing their access to House computer systems owed $100,000 to an Iraqi politician who is wanted by U.S. authorities and has been linked to Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed Middle Eastern terrorist outfit.

Imran Awan and four of his relatives were employed as information technology (IT) aides by dozens of House Democrats, including members of the intelligence, foreign affairs and homeland security committees. The aides’ administrator-level IT access was terminated earlier this month amid a criminal probe by U.S. Capitol Police of a suspected security breach, including an off-site server housing congressional data.

The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has reported that while working for Congress, the Pakistani brothers controlled a limited liability corporation called Cars International A (CIA), a car dealership with odd finances, which took–and was unable to repay–a $100,000 loan from Dr. Ali Al-Attar.

Philip Giraldi, a former CIA officer, wrote that Attar “was observed in Beirut, Lebanon conversing with a Hezbollah official” in 2012–shortly after the loan was made. Attar has also been accused of helping provoke the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq as a leader of Iraqi dissidents opposed to Saddam Hussein.

The Conflictual Relationship Between Donald Trump And The US "Deep State" - Part 1

In just two weeks as president of the United States, Donald Trump has given indications of how he intends to tackle various international political situations. So far we have observed the controversy over Iran, the events related to NATO, rapprochement with Russia, escalation in Ukraine, silence on Syria, the US special-forces operation in Yemen, verbal clashes with the EU, and the absence of further criticism of China. This first article will focus on the he US deep state’s possible sabotage attempts of the Trump presidency.

Tensions continue to rise unabated in the first two weeks of Donald Trump’s presidency, as more decisions come across Trump’s table. While we have seen many executive orders and pieces of legislation, most regard domestic politics, which is a core focus of the Trump presidency. On the other hand, in foreign policy, Trump seems to be using the common tactic of many politicians, which involves much talk and little action. Since US foreign policy has been a mess for quite some time, militating against common sense, taking little action can actually be a positive thing, the best thing a US president has been able to do in almost thirty years! If there is one thing that is clear to everyone about Trump’s way of doing things following two weeks in office, it is that it is completely different from his predecessor, especially in relation to the press and his willingness to engage with it.

The use of executive orders looks more and more like a weapon to flood the press and news agencies with talking points concerning domestic policies, leaving little room for particular pressure on foreign policy from the media establishment. It almost looks like a tactic of guerrilla warfare to overwhelm the mainstream media. It could and probably is also a PR stunt to show the American people he is doing what he promised. Stunt or not, acknowledging the power of the media in creating a pretext for war, and therefore putting a stop to the drums of war, is one of the first key marks of his success.

The main problem continues to be the ongoing war with the US deep state, something that will not be going away anytime soon, and a campaign that may have entered a new stage against the Trump presidency.

Auto Loan Bubble Bursting, And Lenders Know Where Your Car Is At All Times

The story of the Car Loan subprime lending epidemic is nothing new (one of many, student loans etc). Zerohedge has been writing about it for years, with the financial MSM catching on not too long ago. Even John Oliver had a segment about it on his popular show, Last Week Tonight. The new subprime lending epidemic, in the $1.1 Trillion market, which the experts tell us is contianed and won't have the same effect as in the previous crisis, is where all it takes to buy a car at a dealership is the ability to fog a mirror. Cracks have been rearing their heads over the last few months, but nothing like we are seeing as of late. According to the latest data, auto loan delinquencies are now atlevels not seen since the last financial crisis.

But don't worry, economists are already coming out of the wood works to tell us that the idea there is an auto loan bubble is "a litte overblown." Good thing economists have a great track record, and CDS contracts exist. But what most people didn't know, especially these buyers, who have credit scores of less than 600 and are driving a new car with little to no money down, is that they have a gps tracker in their new/used car.

About a year ago, a friend who owns a car stereo shop outside of Sacramento told me that almost every single car or truck they work on has a gps tracker in the dash. What was even more disturbing, was when he said some of the cars as old as a 1994 Honda Accord, or a 1991 Toyota Celica, which the owners had just financed from a local dealership, had trackers in them. Up until he told me about the use of trackers, no one had ever mentioned this gps tracking that is being done without the owners consent, or maybe they didn't read the 5 point font fine print when buying their car.

Teacher Asked To Remove Diversity Posters Amid ‘Anti-Trump’ Claims

Westminster, Md. (WJZ) –A Carroll County high school is causing controversy after administrators asked a teacher to take down posters displayed in their classroom.

According to the Carroll County Times, some classrooms at Westminster High School displayed “We the People” posters that depicted Latina, Muslim and African-American women in the same red, white and blue schematic of the “Hope” election posters for Barack Obama.

Administrators deemed the posters as anti-Trump and taking a political stance against the President. According to school officials, school policy prohibits teachers from trying to sway students.

Who's Contributing How Much To Financing NATO?

While the U.S. outspends all NATO allies when it comes to overall defence spending in relation to her GDP, Statista's Dyfed Loesche notes - and President Trump is very well aware of - the U.S. is also the prime direct financer of NATO.

However, direct contribution are more evenly split between the major NATO powers. Germany for example, spends only 1.19 percent of her GDP into defence (USA = 3.61 percent) but seemingly pulls its weight when it comes to direct funding of NATO. This does not include contributions to particular military operations.

This chart shows direct financial contributions to the running of NATO (in million U.S. dollars)

Has Putin Detonated a Nuke in the Arctic?

FEARS are mounting Vladimir Putin’s military have carried out a secret Arctic nuclear test after a huge spike in dangerous radiation levels were detected across Europe.

The worrying claims came as the US Air Force sent a special WC-135 Constant Phoenix – whose main mission is to detect and identify nuclear explosions from the air – to RAF Mildenhall. Along with monitoring nuke testing, the WC-135 is sometimes used to track radioactive activity as happened after the Chernobyl nuclear plant disaster in the former Soviet Union in 1986.

One of these aircraft was also deployed near North Korea in anticipation of Kim Jong-un’s controversial rocket launches in recent years. Although they cross European airspace from time-to-time, their deployment to the UK is still rare. And there has been no official statement from the US military about the reasons why it has been sent here.

Sources suggest the aircraft has been tasked with investigating the spike in radiation levels detected in northern Europe since January. And some respected websites claim there are growing fears within military circles that Russia has been testing its nuclear might ahead of a future conflict. Many point to the radiation spike as “proof” the Russians have restarted nuclear weapons testing at Novaya Zemlya near the Arctic.

O'Keefe Drops "Bombshell" Undercover Footage From Within CNN

As promised two days ago on the Sean Hannity radio show, James O'Keefe and his team at Project Veritas just released covertly captured, previously unheard audio footage from within the CNN newsroom. But unlike his usual undercover sting operations, this footage was allegedly sourced from a CNN insider who apparently grew frustrated with the perpetually biased reporting of the "fake news" media outlet.

Per O'Keefe's website, today's release includes 119 hours of secretly recorded raw footage from an inside source at CNN with another 100 hours of footage still to be released. Given the volume of footage to be released, O'Keefe is asking for help to transcribe and investigate the recordings and encourages users to provide tips on interesting discoveries here.

The audio was secretly recorded in 2009 by an anonymous source inside CNN’s Atlanta headquarters who we are identifying as Miss X. The tapes contain soundbites from current and previous CNN employees Joe Sterling, Arthur Brice, and Nicky Robertson, as well as numerous others.

In order to expose media malfeasance within CNN, we need your help transcribing, investigating and connecting the dots on these 200+ hours of audio. Leave comments, upload transcriptions or contact us with your tips below.

Florida Teacher “Reassigned” After Facebook Post Praising Trump On Immigration

She made the mistake of publicly supporting Trump's immigration policies

A Florida computer lab teacher, Veronica Fleming, at the predominately Latino Parkside Elementary School in Naples, Florida, had her job “reassigned” after she made the mistake of publicly supporting Trump’s immigration policies over Facebook.

Apparently irked by all the “Day Without Immigrants” protests around the country (see “‘Without Us, Your Country Is Paralyzed’ – Undocumented Workers Plan Boycott ‘Day Without Immigrants’“), Fleming wrote a post on her Facebook account that she was “so glad to hear about massive deportation.”

“The funny part about immigrants staying home is the rest of us who pay for them are here at work like we’ve always been. Looks like less mouths to feed today. Have fun while you still can. So glad to hear about massive deportation. Let’s make America great again. Thanks Donald Trump!!”

Obama’s Feds Tried to Hack Indiana’s Election System While Pence Was Governor

The attacks are the second confirmed IT scanning assault by DHS officials against states that resisted Obama

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials tried to hack Indiana’s state electoral system with at least 14,800 “scans” or hits between Nov. 1, 2016, to Dec. 16, 2016, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.

The attacks are the second confirmed IT scanning assault by DHS officials against states that resisted then-President Barack Obama’s attempt to increase federal involvement in state and local election systems by designating them as “critical infrastructure” for national security.

Members of the National Association of Secretaries of State voted Saturday at their winter meeting to oppose the designation. They are asking President Donald Trump to overturn it.

Former Indiana Gov. Mike Pence was also Trump’s vice presidential-elect during much of the period covered by the DHS scans of the Indiana system.

Middle School Reduces Bad Behavior Dramatically With ‘Reverse Suspensions’ That Invite Parents to School When Students Misbehave

Administrators at one West Virginia middle school have introduced a new disciplinary alternative to traditional suspension that they believe could be more effective in reforming troubled students.

At Huntington East Middle School, non-violent, non-verbally abusive behavior is handled by offering parents the option of a “reverse suspension.”

In a reverse suspension, instead of sending a child home, the student’s parent is invited to come to school and spend the entire day by his side.

“When we started combining schools we had a lot of kids getting in trouble and getting suspended,” school parent partner Stephanie Powell told WOWK-TV.

Huntington East Middle School student Justin Young shared how the policy has worked for him personally.

“I was suspended multiple times last year. But this year, not once,” Young told WOWK.

Why Professors Object to Being Recorded

After the election of Donald Trump as president, a professor at Orange Coast College in California, Olga Perez Stable Cox, went into an extended hate rant against the president-elect. Among other things, she described Trump’s election as an “act of terrorism,” labeled him a white supremacist and called Vice President-elect Mike Pence “one of the most anti-gay humans in this country.”

And this wasn’t even a political science class in which one might expect political talk, no matter how irresponsible. Cox is a professor of human sexuality.

The American Association of University Professors has long opposed unauthorized recording and public posting of what professors say in classrooms.

As it happens, I taught for two years at Brooklyn College. I recall students asking me whether they could record my lectures. And I remember thinking, “Why on Earth would I say no?”

Here, then, is my theory as to why most professors who object to their class lectures being recorded do so: They fear having what they say exposed to the general public.

Our colleges and universities (and an increasing number of high schools and elementary schools) have been transformed from educational institutions into indoctrination institutions. With the left-wing takeover of universities, their primary aim has become graduating as many leftists as possible.

The vast majority of our colleges have become left-wing seminaries. Just as Christian seminaries exist to produce committed Christians, Western universities exist to produce committed leftists.

Aside from the Christian-leftism difference, universities differ in only one respect from Christian seminaries: Christian seminaries admit their goal, whereas the universities deceive the public about theirs.

Thus, in the “social sciences” — disciplines outside the natural sciences and math — a large number of college teachers inject their politics into their classrooms. And if they are recorded, the general public will become aware of just how politicized their classroom lectures are.

But there is another reason..

Busted! Town Hall Project Founded By Former Clinton Staffer

Parent company located at same address as Soros-funded group

A group serving as a central hub of information for congressional town halls was founded by a former Hillary Clinton campaign staffer and its parent company is located at the same address as an organization funded by liberal billionaire George Soros.

Democrats have insisted that recent town hall outbursts against Republican politicians occurred organically, likening them to the Tea Party, while President Donald Trump yesterday tweeted that the "so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous occasions, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!"

The Town Hall Project, a group that serves as a one-stop shop of information for town hall protests across the country, is connected to a former Clinton staffer and is also closely affiliated with a number of liberal groups.

The group, which has been referenced by media outlets on numerous occasions, bills itself as a "volunteer-powered, grassroots effort that empowers constituents across the country to have face-to-face conversations with their elected representatives."

Jimmy Dahman, a former field organizer for the Clinton campaign in Iowa, founded the Town Hall Project. Dahman claimed on CNN that the town hall events are "all organic and happening at the grassroots level."

Dahman's group is closely involved with MoveOn.org, a major progressive activist group that recently launched a website, called ResistanceRecess.com, to encourage activists to attend town hall events.

Link Between Food Colorings/Additives and Hyperactivity Has Been Proven

Even though for a number of years many parents with children who are affected by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) have been excluding foods which contain such ingredients from their child's diet as a precaution, the practice has until now had little scientific basis.

But now researchers from the University of Southampton in a study sponsored by the British Food Agency, have systematically established for the first time the connection between the two.

The study which was led by psychology Professor Dr. Jim Stevenson, provides clear evidence that mixtures of certain food colours and benzoate preservative can adversely influence the behaviour of children.

For the study the researchers distributed drinks for a six week period, containing preservatives and colours similar to those mixed in common commercial drinks to a group of 153 three year old children and 144 eight and nine year-olds who had been selected at random.

The children were given two types of drinks with food additives commonly found in sweets, beverages, and other foods, and then a placebo drink (one with no additives).

One mix had artificial colorings, including sunset yellow (also called E110), carmoisine (E122), tartrazine (E102), ponceau 4R (E124), and the preservative sodium benzoate.

Another 'cocktail' included the current average daily consumption of food additives by the two age ranges of children and included quinoline yellow (E104), allura red (E129), sunset yellow, carmoisine and sodium benzoate.

Study: 15 percent of Maryland residents were born outside US

WASHINGTON — Four of the 10 most culturally diverse communities are in D.C.’s Maryland suburbs, and as a state, Maryland ranks among the biggest for foreign-born residents, according to a new study.

When ranked among smaller, independent cities, Germantown, Gaithersburg, Silver Spring and Rockville rank as the top four for cultural diversity, based on things such as ethnic mix, language diversity and residents born outside the U.S., according to WalletHub research. A smaller city was defined as one with fewer than 100,000 people.

When ranked among all cities in the United States, all four make the top 10.

Pelosi breakdown? Repeats words, tells audience to clap

Is there something wrong with Nancy Pelosi?

During a Friday appearance before Families USA — the activist group fighting the repeal of Obamacare — Pelosi was seen repeating words, telling the audience when to clap and mistakenly said John Kasich was the governor of Illinois.

Pelosi began by thanking the person who introduced her for his “recanting of what happened at the time” Democrats and activist groups rammed through Obamacare.

She recalled telling her fellow Democrats that the Affordable Care Act was going to be a major achievement for government programs, and “stand there with Social Security and Medicare and Medicare,” apparently meaning to say “Medicaid.”

She attempted to butter up the audience by heaping praise on Families USA.

After attendees didn’t clap after she congratulated them for her work, she said, “When I said we could not have done it without Families USA, that is an applause line for you.”

She added, “Applause line!” after she said she looked forward to continuing to work with the activist group.

The biggest gasoline glut in 27 years could be setting oil up for a crash

Oil prices are stuck in a holding pattern, waiting for more definitive data on what comes next. OPEC compliance is helping keep prices afloat, but rising U.S. oil production is acting as a counterweight.

A new problem that has suddenly emerged is the record levels of gasoline sitting in storage. The market has already had to digest the fact that U.S. crude oil stocks were rising, and investors have done their best to explain away the trend. But now gasoline inventories are climbing to unexpected heights.

It would be one thing if crude stocks were rising, perhaps because refiners were going offline for maintenance. But if that were the case, then gasoline stocks would draw down on lower refining runs. But if both crude and refined product inventories are going up at the same time, then there should be some reasons for worry.

In fact, the glut of gasoline is now the worst in 27 years. At 259 million barrels, U.S. gasoline storage levels are now at their highest level since the EIA began tracking the data back in 1990.

Trump’s EPA Chief Releases More Than 7,000 Emails To Soros-Funded Group

The Daily Caller: A liberal watchdog group released thousands of emails Wednesday showing President Donald Trump’s EPA chief shared communications with energy groups during his time as Oklahoma’s attorney general.

The Center for Media and Democracy (CMD), a liberal watchdog group with financial ties to billionaire George Soros, released emails showing Scott Pruitt’s office communicated on several occasions with fossil fuel companies like Devon Energy earlier in February. CMD sued to have the emails released after it claimed the Oklahoma Republican stonewalled information requests for two years.

“The newly released emails reveal a close and friendly relationship between Scott Pruitt’s office and the fossil fuel industry,” Nick Surgey, a director at CMD, wrote in a statement Wednesday.

Emails dating back to 2013 show that various groups reached out to thank Pruitt’s office for engaging in legal fisticuffs with former President Barack Obama’s environmental agenda.

ACLU: Here's what you should and shouldn't do if you're stopped by the police

We asked ACLU senior staff attorney Jason Williamson to lay out an individual's rights, and the ACLU's best advice for getting stopped by the police.

FULL TRANSCRIPT:

[JASON WILLIAMSON] If you're asked for your name, you should provide it. If you're asked for identification, you should provide it. Beyond that, you should say nothing more to the police other than asking whether or not you are free to leave.

If the police tell you that you are free to leave, then you should turn and walk away. Don't run away. Just walk away. Calmly.

If the police tell you that you are not free to leave, then you know that you're being detained, and at that point you want to make sure that you don't say anything else to the police. There's nothing good that can come out of it.

People want to explain themselves, they want to explain why they were doing whatever it is they were doing when they were stopped, or why the police are wrong for assuming they were engaged in illegal behavior. Just say nothing. Whether you think you are in the right or not, it's just not worth it to try to get into a conversation with a police officer to explain away your behavior, because those are the very things that will be used against you in court.

You have to be aware of the circumstances around you, understand what's happening, what time of day it is, who the officers are, how many of them are on the scene, because all of that's gonna be important after the fact if anything happens to go wrong.

No vote in Md. senate to repeal transportation project rating bill

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan wants to repeal a bill he likes to call a “road kill bill,” but his attempt at getting that repeal — and lawmakers’ attempts to tweak the bill to save it — appear to have stalled, at least for now.

In a Wednesday hearing that revealed raw feelings from lawmakers, there was no vote on Hogan’s repeal effort.

Both lawmakers and representatives from Hogan’s office said they are open to talking about ways to improve the bill that calls on the state to rate transportation projects. But Wednesday’s hearings showed rifts remain.

Sen. Nancy King, a Democrat who represents Maryland’s 39th District, asked Hogan’s chief legislative aid, Christopher Shank, if there were changes to the transportation bill that would make it workable.

Four major US cities are seeing a surge in homicides — but not for the reasons you might think

Four major US cities are experiencing a surge in homicide rates and have neared or exceeded the numbers from the 1990s, according to a study from The Wall Street Journal.

The publication looked at homicide data stretching back to 1985 and found that murder rates in Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee, and Memphis now look like numbers from the 1990s: an era wrought with gang violence and drug-trafficking.

The current spikes, however, were attributed in part to other factors — like poverty and unemployment, and diminishing police-community relations.

Here are a few facts from The Journal's analysis (emphasis ours):

Wal-Mart Keeps Working to Make Inroads Against Amazon

The nation's largest retailer keeps working to make headway against the largest online seller.

Wal-Mart drew more shoppers to its namesake stores in the United States and its online sales soared 29 percent in the fourth quarter, which covers the critical holiday shopping season. That's an indication that its efforts to lower prices and improve web services are helping it compete better against Amazon, which has built fierce loyalty with its Prime two-day shipping program.

Like other traditional retailers, Wal-Mart has been trying to improve its online operations to challenge Amazon, which accounted for 33 percent of total U.S. online sales last year, according to the research firm Euromonitor. Wal-Mart moved into second place last year ahead of eBay, accounting for 7.8 percent of online sales, up from 7.4 percent in 2015. But Wal-Mart's online sales still only account for about 3 percent of its global sales, or about $14 billion. That compares with $94 billion in global net product sales for Amazon.com.

Already alienated, College Republicans say they are coming under increasing threat from Trump critics

Republicans now hold sway on Capitol Hill, but on college campuses across the country many conservatives say they are increasingly under threat and being shut out of the political dialogue – with tensions only escalating as President Trump unveils controversial measures.

Allison Coukos, director of public relations for the George Washington College Republicans and a junior majoring in political science, told Fox News that after the president signed a slew of executive orders last week, the political tension on campus intensified. She said the hostility toward her group became so extreme that this week it sent out an open invitation to everyone on campus to join them in a “friendly discussion.”

While it is nothing new for Republicans to feel alienated on typically liberal-minded campuses, Trump’s election has seemingly ushered in a new level of enmity for conservative students and professors. Coukos said she has basically had to stop discussing politics altogether.

“Students have told me of instances of harassment. We had a member spat on when they were wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat,” Coukos said. “On a liberal campus, it is not necessarily easy being a Republican. Students who don’t know you are more inclined to hold negative views toward you.”
