House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Monday made yet another request to the federal government for details about a crashed hard drive that may have contained information allowing criminal charges to be brought against a federal official.
Issa’s newest letter concerns the hard drive of April Sands, a former employee at the Federal Election Commission who resigned in the spring after admitting to violations of the Hatch Act. That law puts restrictions on the ability of government officials to conduct political activities while on the job, or from government offices.
Issa noted that while Sands admitted to violating the law, the FEC just recently told Congress that it could not recover her hard drive, which made it impossible to seek criminal charges against her.

Target Security Officer Fired After Reporting Shoplifting
Dallas Northington spent nearly eight years working for Target in loss prevention, roaming the stores and scanning the surveillance cameras. In an episode at the Leesburg Target store in May that he said was typical, a man was allegedly captured twice on video shoplifting, and Northington responded as he said he always did: He called the Leesburg police, made a report and provided them the videos of the two incidents.
But the man in the video may have been a Fairfax County sheriff’s deputy, Northington said he soon learned. And within days, two things happened: The deputy retired from the sheriff’s office and Target fired Northington, 29, a married father of two with a third child on the way.
Northington said Target officials told him that he had violated procedure by not filling out the proper paperwork before contacting the police, though he said his office had operated the same way for years. He said he also was told that he had been insubordinate for not seeking approval before calling police, though he said the standard practice was for him to act as needed.

'Dirty Harry' Reid’s increasing eccentricity
Senate majority leader practices politics of personal destruction
Harry Reid is the majority bumpkin of the U.S. Senate, vying with the vice president to say weird, goofy, sometimes amusing and often embarrassing things. His Democratic colleagues typically chuckle, roll their eyes, and put it down to ol’ Harry just being old Harry. (He’s only 78, but in his case, 78 is the new 90.) Long-suffering aides shrug at his bellicose ad-libs and call it “just Harry getting out ahead of his skis.”
Nevertheless, when he stands up on the Senate floor, his colleagues hold their breath. No one can predict what’s going to come out of the motorized mouth. Like Joe Biden, he’s always good for a laugh. He once joked that with the arrival of summer and its high temperatures and high humidity, “you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol.” He welcomed Barack Obama to the presidential race in 2008 because he was “light-skinned” and spoke with “no Negro dialect.” He once applauded a better-than-expected jobs report with the remark that “only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good.” When a reporter asked him how the death of Ted Kennedy would affect health care reform, he replied, “Oh, I think it’s going to help us.” He is nevertheless a fortunate bumpkin, because he has aides to decide when apologies are necessary. It’s a job that keeps two aides employed full time.

Mom Says She Was Booted From Brad Paisley Concert For Breastfeeding
A California woman says she was escorted by police out of Brad Paisley’s concert in Chula Vista Thursday night because she was breastfeeding her baby in the pit area.
A 10-minute clip of the incident, posted on YouTube Friday and later removed, reportedly showed the mother, Megan Christopherson, with her baby in a carrier being confronted by an officer at Sleep Train Amphitheatre.
In the video, the Chula Vista police officer removes the woman from the pit area and takes her outside. The officer can be seen telling Ms. Christopherson that she needed to leave the area for the safety of the child, a local ABC affiliate reported.
“Your child doesn’t have hearing protection on,” the officer can be heard saying. “The crowd is going to start surging forward. Where you’re at, your child can get crushed. So we’re afraid of your child getting crushed, and we’re afraid of your child’s eardrums being hurt, OK. That is borderline, probably, child endangerment.”

The Way This Rocket Launcher Was Camouflaged Is Creative — And Terrifyingly Dangerous
The Israel Defense Forces have for years warned about Palestinian terrorist groups launching rockets under the cover of residential areas, thus placing Palestinian civilians in direct danger in addition to the Israelis they are targeting.
New video posted by the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a militant group associated with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party, took that warning to a new level, showing the moment a militant engineered a bread cart to fire a rocket.
The video uploaded to YouTube by the Brigades showed a man wearing civilian clothes removing cardboard from the type of mobile cart seen frequently in Arab markets in Gaza, the West Bank and east Jerusalem used by outdoor vendors selling sesame coated bagels, hot corn on the cob and freshly squeezed fruit juices.

These States Are Rebelling Against Barack H. Obama
Numerous states have grown tired of the terrible overreach by the massive leviathan that is the federal government. States are beginning to fight back by reclaiming their sovereignty and state’s rights under the Tenth Amendment of the Constitution.
The states are fighting back on multiple fronts by nullifying federal laws within their borders, including gun control, Obamacare, and NSA spying.
Several states have also submitted applications calling for a Convention of States for the purpose of proposing new amendments to the Constitution, designed to reign in the federal government and return it to it’s original boundaries.

Can You Find Brooke Mulford?
Over the last 5 1/2 years that Brooke has been battling cancer she has received thousands of cards from all over the US and I have saved every single one! I wanted Brooke to be able to go back through them someday and see how truly loved she is and how thousands of people all over the world were and are praying for her every day. With us getting ready to move and downsizing there is just no way for me to keep them all anymore so we have been going through them and reading them again and it has brought us so much joy. We decided to make a massive pile of them in the living room and have Brooke in the middle of them all covered in love. So if you have ever sent Brooke a card or your child drew her a picture - I assure you it is in that pile somewhere and it is so loved and appreciated. God bless all of you for being a part of Brooke's journey and for sending sunshine her way through the years. xoxo, Amy & Brooke PS can you find Brooke in pictures?
WATCH: Shocking New Video Shows The People Of Chicago Are Waking Up
All you have to do is look at recent news reports to understand the city of Chicago is on fire. July may very well turn out to be one of the deadliest months on record for the city. Since Friday, 28 people were shot and at least three were killed.
Chicago has come to be known as President Obama’s adopted hometown, and the White House is beginning to be criticized by some of its most ardent supporters. Last week, Rev. Jesse Jackson told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren the Obama Administration has prioritized the border crisis over the crisis in Chicago.
“Getting support for those children and the humanitarian crisis is the moral and right thing to do. Resources are important,” Jackson said. “But there is also a crisis in Chicago. It’s not either, it’s both.”

Rep. Sensenbrenner: Abolish the ATF
Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R., Wis.) is working on a bill that would abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, theMilwaukee Journal-Sentinelreports:
Citing ATF’s recent operational failures and its overlap with other federal law enforcement, Sensenbrenner is preparing a bill to dissolve the agency and have existing agencies in the U.S. Justice Department take on its duties.
“By absorbing the ATF into existing law enforcement entities, we can preserve the areas where the ATF adds value for substantially less taxpayer money,” Sensenbrenner said. “While searching for its mission, the ATF has been plagued by decades of high-profile blunders. …We cannot afford to ignore clear changes that will greatly enhance the government’s efficiency.”

Graffiti On Proposed Shelter For Immigrant Children In Maryland: ‘No Illeagles Here.’
WESTMINSTER, Md. — As news spread this weekend that undocumented immigrant children might soon live in a former military facility in this town, graffiti appeared on the one-story brick building: “No illeagles here. No undocumented Democrats.”
Aside from the misspelling — which prompted some snickering about sick birds of prey as a photo circulated on Facebook on Sunday — the scrawled message was a manifestation of the bitter national debate over how the government should treat these undocumented children.
Tens of thousands of unaccompanied Central American children have arrived on the southwest border since October. Under current law, those children must be turned over to the Department of Health and Human Services within 72 hours. They are then placed with relatives living in the United States or put in temporary housing while their cases are processed through the immigration court system — which can take years.

Eric Holder: ‘Racial animus’ fuels opposition to Obama and me
Attorney General Eric Holder threw down the race card and said on national television that at least some of the political resistance that he and President Obama face is due to the color of their skin.
“There’s a certain level of vehemence, it seems to me, that’s directed at me [and] directed at the president,” Mr. Holder told ABC News. “You know, people talking about taking their country back. … There’s a certain racial component to this for some people. I don’t think this is the thing that is a main driver, but for some, there’s a racial animus.”
As the New York Post noted, Mr. Holder is the first black attorney general serving under the country’s first black president.

Driver of SUV Fatally Injured in Crash after Fleeing from Police
Frankford, DE – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a crash involving a stolen motor vehicle that has left a 26 year old Dagsboro, DE man dead after refusing to stop for local police earlier this morning.
The incident began shortly after 10:00 a.m. as a stolen 2003 Ford Explorer, being operated by Charles A. Campbell, 26 of Dagsboro, was southbound on US113 south of Frankford at a high rate of speed. Campbell was a suspect in a home invasion that had just occurred in Dagsboro and was being actively pursued by the Frankford and Dagsboro Police departments. A 2014 Mack 10-Wheel cargo/box truck, operated by Brian J. Black, 42 of Harrington, was northbound US113 in the left lane in the same general vicinity. Campbell lost control of the Ford Explorer causing it to drive over a concrete island and through the grass median before entering the northbound lanes. Brian Black attempted to slow but was unable to avoid the Explorer, resulting in a nearly head-on collision in the left lane of US113 northbound. After the impact, the Explorer rotated counterclockwise and overturned multiple times, landing on the roof in the grass median. The Mack truck rotated counterclockwise and slid sideways, coming to rest across both northbound travel lanes.
Charles Campbell, who was not properly restrained, was ejected and landed in the grass median. He was transported to Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD where he was pronounced dead due to multiple traumatic injuries.
Brian Black, who was properly restrained, was uninjured and refused treatment at the scene.
The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this collision. US113 northbound in the area of Cat Mans Road was closed for approximately four hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
**All inquiries as to the events that occurred prior to the crash can be directed to the Dagsboro Police Department.**

"I had to make myself meaner and tougher," he said.

Feds Retreat After Maryland Residents Fight Plan to Dump Illegals
Protests from local elected officials in Maryland this weekend forced the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) to cancel its plans to send illegal immigrant children to an Army Reserve center in Westminster, which is about 35 miles from Baltimore.
Maryland Democrat Gov. Martin O'Malley said illegal immigrant children flooding across the border should be considered "refugees" and all be given asylum status, but after Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) publicized the federal government's last-minute plans to sneak illegal immigrant children into Maryland, there was considerable blowback. HHS backed off, citing things like insufficient access to drinking water at the facility.
In a Monday appearance on WBAL radio in Baltimore, Harris said he found out late Thursday evening about the Obama administration's plans and "hit the ground running on Friday morning" to stop it from happening.
"We have to send a very clear message to HHS that this is crazy," Harris said.

Bergdahl Could Get $350G Tax-Free, If Cleared By Army
Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl could have a tax-free $350,000 dropped into his bank account if the current investigation into his disappearance from his base in Afghanistan was not desertion, and if he is deemed to have been a prisoner of war for the five years he was held by Islamic militants, Fox News has learned.
The 28-year-old soldier, for whom the U.S. traded five senior Taliban operatives held at Guantanamo Bay, was set to return to active duty Monday after spending six weeks in medical rehab at Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio.
“Essentially he’ll be working a desk job,” Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren told reporters at the Pentagon Monday.

He's baaack: Romney crushes potential GOP rivals in NH primary poll
Chris Christie narrowly leads the pack of potential Republican presidential candidates in a poll of New Hampshire residents released Friday, but Mitt Romney crushes the competition when his name is added to the field.
Christie, the cantankerous and controversial New Jersey governor, emerged as the most polarizing name on a list of 13 politicians presented during a phone poll between June 19 and July 1.
While 46 per cent of New Hampshire Republicans like him, another 36 per cent don't. And he topped the list when GOP respondents were asked who they definitely would not vote for.
But with 19 per cent support in a hypothetical presidential primary, Christie has emerged as the flavor-of-the-month front-runner.

'Illegal immigrants to fly on passenger jets with just piece of paper'
Illegal immigrants are being allowed to board passenger jets without having any identification, the National Border Patrol Council has claimed.
The union for border workers told Breitbart that immigrants who have been released from holding centers while they wait for their court date are being allowed to travel freely without identification.
The only paperwork they need to show airlines is their Notice to Appear forms, a simple print out with no photo or security features.

Target’s Gun Ban Has Unexpected Results As Assailants Attack Store’s Unarmed Customers
Three days ago, Target enacted a new policy in which they asked customers to politely leave their guns at home or not bring them on the premises of any Target store. This was probably decided after a loaded gun was found in the toy aisle of one of their stores as reported here on The Inquisitr.
Unfortunately, their gun ban policy is proving to be problematic as numerous reports are coming in about Target’s customers getting robbed at gunpoint.
According to reports, including one in the Gainesville Times, Target shoppers at two different stores in Georgia have been robbed by armed assailants since the discount retailer announced the policy on July 2, 2014.

Ridiculous Study of the Day Says Smelling Farts Might Prevent Cancer

First doctors said that Justin Bieber might save young boys’ lives (the “hip” bowl cut is actually a form of sun protection — skin cancer be gone!), and now scientists out of the University of Exeterinsist that smelling farts couldactually prevent cancer, among other diseases. Uh, okay.

Clinton Foundation, Hamas Share Major Donor
Qatari government gave millions to Clinton group and terror group
The Clinton Foundation and the terror group Hamas share a key donor: The government of Qatar, a leading backer of terror groups that has emerged in recent years as Hamas’ chief financial lifeline.
Qatar, which has been designated by the State Department as a “significant terrorist financing risk,” has pledged more than $400 million to Hamas since 2012 and has long harbored one of the terror group’s senior leaders, Khaled Mashaal.

Maryland congressman Andy Harris: How he came to challenge D.C.’s marijuana law
The Maryland congressman challenging the District’s new marijuana-decriminalization law is no stranger to unpopular stances, having survived a contentious 12 years as a Republican lawmaker in the state’s Democratic-dominated General Assembly.
During last fall’s budget standoff, Rep. Andy Harris was one of the last true believers, continuing to vote against the federal budget even at the risk of prolonging a government shutdown. He equates mandated insurance coverage of contraception with the burning of churches and medical use of marijuana with telling patients to chew on mold instead of taking penicillin.
As a state senator in 2008, Harris tried to withhold funding to the University of Maryland because students planned to screen an X-rated film. He said he considers pornography “poison.”

New Legion baseball rule ‘rescinded’
The new rule for American Legion baseball that was set to begin in 2015 to not allow 19 year old players, who are attending college, to play has now been scrapped.
American Legion state officials informed coaches of all 16 teams in District V on Thursday via email that the incoming rule has now been “rescinded.”
No explanation was given in the email on why the ruling has been scrapped, according to Smith Post head coach Tony Abone Jr.
“We just got an email today saying that the rule of the 19-year-old or college freshman not being able to play is being rescinded,” he said.
“Obviously with four of our players we have now, they get to come back next year and play. I was surprised to get it and read it today. I don’t know all of the particulars about it but they sent it out to tell our coaches and players about it. I’m sure at the (District V Tournament seeding) meeting in two weeks we’ll find out more about it.”

10 Japanese Travel Tips for Visiting America
With the help of Google Translate (and an ability to interpret completely random sentence structure), an American can find out what kind of advice the Japanese give to their own countrymen on how to handle the peculiarities of American culture. Here are some things to look out for if you are visiting America from Japan.
1. THERE IS A THING CALLED “DINNER PLATES.” AND WHAT GOES ON THEM IS A MIGHTY DISAPPOINTMENT.
MoreIn Japan, each person eating gets as many individual dishes as needed for the meal. Sometimes more than 10 dishes per person are used. In America, there is a method where a large bowl or dish is placed in the middle of the table, and you take as much as you like from there, and put it on a big dish said to be a "dinner plate."In Japan, meals at home are for eating, because your stomach is vacant. At an American’s dinner, there is food, decorations on the table and tableware, and music to produce a fun atmosphere. It is a time for maintaining rich human relationships. Therefore, the meal is as long as 40 minutes. In addition, often the decorative tableware has been handed down mother to daughter, two generations, three generations. In addition, there are even more valuable dishes used for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Election Experience
During our recent primary election an event happened that I would say is,
"Worthy of Comment". A Conservative Republican, Me, and a Liberal Democrat,
former county council member Tony Sarbanes, were found to both agree that
"Wicomico County can not continue to go down the path that it is going". Yes
folks, at the Delmarva Evangelistic Church polling station, Mr. Sarbanes
approached an MJ Caldwell supporter and made that statement. When that statement
was passed on to me I thought thank goodness a light has finally gone on in Mr.
Sarbanes head that made him realize the Tax and Spend policies of his
current Democratic Party have devastated the working people of Wicomico County.
Yes, now he might realize that all of the tax increases and new taxes like a
"Rain Tax", (whoever would have believed that one) plus one of the Democrats
newest proposed taxes, the VMT Tax, yes, they now want to tax how many miles
that you drive each year, have harmed the working class people.
Mr. Sarbanes can now probably see how one of his own party's leader,
Democrat County Executive Rick Pollitt , using these tax and spend policies,
continues to drag Wicomico County down. (now if anyone doesn't think that's not
true I can get into a whole series of articles to prove that one but I believe
most working people already know this). I bet he also doesn't appreciate Mr.
Pollitt raising his property taxes five years in a row. After all, as a property
owner I'm sure he has benefited by his savings from the REVENUE CAP. But it's
not just Mr. Pollitt. Mr. Conway and Mr. Mathias, plus departing delegate Rudy
Cane , have all been working hard each year trying to find a way to get rid of
the Revenue Cap so that they can once again raise your property sky high.
So folks, have I misunderstood the intent of Mr. Sarbanes remarks. Perhaps
there was something else he would have liked to have added to that statement.
What do you think? Mr. Sarbanes, would you like to jump in and perhaps add
something that could influence the Democratic base and all the thousands of
independent voters who didn't have the opportunity to vote in the primary? We
would enjoy hearing from you.

Is this the end for Atlantic City? Trump Plaza casino set to close
Atlantic City's crumbling casino market disintegrated even further Saturday as the owners of the Trump Plaza casino said they expect to shut down in mid-September.
Trump Entertainment Resorts told The Associated Press that no final decision has been made on the Boardwalk casino. But the company said it expects the casino to close its doors Sept. 16.
Notices warning employees of the expected closing will go out to the casino's 1,000-plus employees Monday.

Michelle Obama Tells Latinos They'll Bypass Congress on Amnesty
President Barack Obama is no stranger to taking independent action–regardless of its constitutionality–to further his agenda. His executive orders have often been struck down by the Supreme Court, but this president is not one to let something like that stop him from doing whatever he sees fit.
Of course, Obama doesn’t only ignore Congress when it comes to immigration policy; he has consistently demonstrated that he’s unwilling to abide by the wishes of the American people, either.

Tighter Tattoo Policy Means Smaller Recruit Pool
Uncle Sam still wants you -- just not as heavily inked.
More than three months after the Army implemented a more stringent tattoo policy, recruiters say they are the ones feeling the pinch.
"It certainly makes our job a little more challenging," said Staff Sgt. Carrington Oliver of the South Holland recruiting station.
The new regulations, which went into effect around April 1, mean turning away about 10 to 12 potential recruits at his office each month, Oliver said.
Still, he endorsed the changes. "It's all about projecting a more professional image."
The tighter rules, which went into effect around April 1, ban body art on the head, face, neck, wrists, hands and fingers. Soldiers are allowed a maximum of four visible tattoos below the elbow or knee, but they must be smaller than the wearer's hand, which means that "sleeves" are also prohibited. (Extremist, sexist and racist tattoos have always been taboo.)

Charged With Illegally Dumping Polluted Fracking Fluid, Exxon Claims ‘No Lasting Environmental Impact’
Pennsylvania’s Attorney General has filed criminal charges against ExxonMobil for illegally dumping tens of thousands of gallons of hydraulic fracturing waste at a drilling site in 2010. The Exxon subsidiary, XTO Energy, had removed a plug from a wastewater tank, leading to 57,000 gallons of contaminated water spilling into the soil.
The Exxon subsidiary has contested the criminal charges, claiming there was “no lasting environmental impact,” and it can “discourage good environmental practices” from guilty companies. “The action tells oil and gas operators that setting up infrastructure to recycle produced water exposes them to the risk of significant legal and financial penalties should a small release occur.” In July, XTO had agreed to several fines, including $20 million to improve its facilities treating wastewater.

Harris: Westminster Army Reserve Center No Longer Considered For Housing Immigrants
Following objections from Carroll County officials and some Westminster residents, the Department of Heath and Human Services has decided not to use a former Army Reserve Center in Westminster to temporarily house some of the thousands of undocumented children and teenagers coming to the U.S. at the Mexican border.
A spokesman for Maryland 1st District Republican Congressman Andy Harris, whose district includes part of Carroll County, told WBAL News that Harris was notified late Saturday of the Department's decision .
In a statement on his Facebook page Harris said, "my office was just notified that the site in Carroll County won't be used by HHS to house unaccompanied minors who have entered our nation illegally. This is the right decision/ Flying them to MD to only turn around and send them back home makes no sense. I'm glad to see that HHS listened to my objections and those of so many local officials."

Mexican ‘Death Train’ Derails The American Dream for 1,300 Immigrants
Droves of Mexican immigrants riding atop a train to freedom, have found themselves short of their destination after the train derailed. Emergency services estimate about 1,300 people are stranded, many injured.
The derailed train had previously been nicknamed “the Beast” and “the Train of Death,”and is the quickest way to travel through Mexico to the southern border of the U.S. But the ride on the ramshackle cargo train is far from safe. Reuters reports many of those hitching a ride were young people trying to make it to the United States from their home countries in Central America.

Elections are rigged?
To anyone who questions whether the last Salisbury City election was rigged think about this.
1) Where were the polling places? One was at the Salisbury Fire Department on Cypress Street.
2) Who has access to the fire department on Cypress Street? Rick Hoppes and a few others and the machines were in the buildings over night.
3) Who was dying to be the next fire chief? Rick Hoppes. He would do anything to be the next fire chief since he had been waiting almost 2 years. All he needed to do was get Jim Ireton re-elected and Debbie Campbell ousted.
4) Who was dying to be the next mayor or re-elected mayor? Jim Ireton. Jim Ireton was Rick Hoppes' boss so he could easily influence Rick or some other fire fighter to gain access to the computers.
5) Who have friends in high places within the State? Jim Ireton. Chuck Cook worked for Martin O'Malley so they could have gotten all the resources they wanted to access the computers.
So all morning long during the election everyone was saying Joe was winning the election 2 to 1 and then Joe loses? So Jim Ireton gets re-elected and Debbie Campbell is beat by a landslide. Remember back a few short years when Debbie Campbell got re-elected and Debbie got more votes in her district than Jim Ireton got city wide. Jim Ireton rode in on Debbie Campbell's coattail for the win. Do you really believe that the electorate hated Debbie Campbell that much in 4 years and to vote for someone like Jake Day. It's very possible that Debbie could have lost that election, but it would have been close. I highly doubt Debbie lost by a landslide and Jim Ireton beat Joe 2 to 1.
Immediately following the election Jake Day becomes president of the city council and Laura Mitchell becomes vice president. The biggest item on the agenda at the meeting was to confirm a new fire chief. Debbie Campbell is gone and there is a new majority in Jim Ireton's favor. BAM! Salisbury has a new fire chief and coincidently the election was held in a city building where desperate people had access. A city fire department at that. Desperate people do desperate things. Sounds like a plan to me.

Heroin Overdose Rise Prompts Maryland Crackdown
Maryland's historic capital is known for sailing and shopping, a place where people eat seafood at waterside restaurants. It's not a place that city police considered a destination for people looking to buy heroin - at least, not until recently.
An increase in heroin-related deaths has been described by federal officials as an urgent health crisis around the country, and Maryland is seeing the drug's scourge in new ways.
"What we didn't know was the breadth of the problem where people were coming from outside of Annapolis," Police Chief Michael Pristoop said in a recent interview while discussing the May indictments of nine people involved in selling heroin, including the alleged leaders whose arrests Pristoop believes have put a big dent in local heroin activity.

Why Larry Hogan is the right choice for Maryland...
I am running for Governor because I love this state and together, we can get Maryland on the right track again!
As governor, I will bring fiscal restraint, common sense, and integrity to Annapolis. Job one will be to get the government off our backs and out of our pockets so we can grow the private sector, put people back to work, and turn our economy around. I will create a business friendly environment in order to compete and move Maryland out of the red and into the black!
I know what it takes to create jobs and jump-start an economy. As Founder, President, and CEO of The Hogan Companies, a leader in economic development for 25 years, I have helped bring hundreds of businesses and thousands of jobs to Maryland. I know how to run a successful organization that creates jobs and opportunities and I will do the same for Maryland!
I know where government can help and where it can hurt. My in-depth knowledge of state government comes from the four years I spent serving in Governor Ehrlich’s Cabinet where I appointed over 7,000 people to leadership positions and created the most bipartisan & inclusive administration in Maryland’s history. I will work for ALL Marylanders, not just a select few!
I know the people of this state deserve so much better than the status quo. That’s why Republicans, Democrats, and Independents have joined our campaign to change Maryland. The "one-party rule" operation Maryland has now is dangerous, and I believe that's true regardless of what "party" is in charge.
And I know we can give them a real choice for a change. I have what it takes to clean up the mess in Annapolis and chart a new course for Maryland, we must wrest control of our state government from an out-of-touch monopoly. Together, we can change Maryland for the better
Let's focus on the issues that unite Marylanders from all walks of life and from all parties! We hope you will join us.
Together, we can and will change Maryland for the better!

Days of radio silence from Anthony Brown on three TV news debate invitations
Where is Brown?
Annapolis, MD – Days after three of Maryland’s top TV news stations invited Anthony G. Brown to debate Anne Arundel businessman Larry Hogan, there’s been radio silence from the Lt. Governor.
In response to a July 1 request by Hogan for several gubernatorial debates in locations throughout the state, Brown issued a widely reported on proposal for one radio and two TV debates on his pre-approved stations with his hand-picked moderators. Since then, WBFF Fox45, WBAL NBC11 (co-hosted by WHAG-TV, WBOC-TV, WMAL-AM and MPT) and WJZ CBS13 have all issued invitations for Brown and Hogan to debate on their airwaves; Hogan has agreed to all three.
According to Hogan Communications Director, Adam Dubitsky, “As head of the failed Maryland Health Exchange, Anthony Brown ran from responsibility, ducked reporters’ questions and held Exchange hearings in secret in violation of state law. And barely two weeks into the general election, Anthony Brown’s strategy is to continue this bunker mentality and do everything he can to avoid addressing the failures of the past seven years and how a third term of O’Malley-Brown would be any different from the first two,” Dubitsky said.
“The voters of Maryland deserve answers from Anthony Brown on the following questions:
- Will you attend the WBFF debate with Larry Hogan?
- Will you attend the WBAL debate with Larry Hogan?
- Will you attend the WJZ debate with Larry Hogan?
The following invitations have been received and accepted by the Hogan campaign:
- Invite received June 26 - Maryland Municipal League Gubernatorial Candidates Forum
- Invite received July 3 – WBFF TV – Gubernatorial debate.
- Invite received July 6 - Maryland Association of Counties candidates forum.
- Invite received July 8 – WBAL-TV – Gubernatorial debate
- Invite received July 8 - WJZ-TV – Gubernatorial debate
Among the other candidate forums to which Hogan has accepted invitations are ones hosted by the Maryland Association of Realtors and the Maryland Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Election
Fred was in the fertilized egg business. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.
Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell which rooster was performing.
Fred's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all!
When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.
To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Brisbane City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.
The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pullet surprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.
Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.

Marriage in Heaven
On their way to get married, a young Catholic couple were involved in a fatal car accident.
The couple found themselves sitting outside the Pearly Gates waiting for St. Peter to process them into Heaven.
While anxiously waiting they began to wonder; could they possibly get married in Heaven?
When St. Peter arrived, they asked him if they could get married in Heaven.
St. Peter said: "I don't know. This is the first time anyone has asked. Let me go find out,"
The couple sat and waited for an answer... for a couple of months.
While they waited, they discussed the pros and cons.
If they were allowed to get married in Heaven, should they get married, what with the eternal aspect of it all?
"What if it doesn't work? Are we stuck in Heaven together forever?"
Yet another month passed before St. Peter finally returned, looking somewhat bedraggled.
"Yes," he informed the couple, "You can get married in Heaven."
"Great!" said the couple. "But we were just wondering; what if things don't work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?"
St. Peter, red-faced with anger, slammed his clipboard on the ground.
"What's wrong?" asked the frightened couple.
"OH, COME ON!" St. Peter shouted. "It took me 3 months to find a priest up here!
Do you have ANY idea how long it'll take to find a lawyer?"
