If you’re a regular reader of TheBlaze, you know that former “Full House” star Candace Cameron-Bure is an unashamed Christian. So when she was announced as a contestant on “Dancing With the Stars,” there were likely plenty of people who wondered how she would balance her faith and convictions with the sexual aspects of the show.
This week, you got your answer: She wasn’t going to do anything that she felt compromised her values. And the audience seemed to eat it up.
Before her rumba with partner Mark Ballas, the show played a package showing Cameron-Bure explaining her relationship with Jesus Christ and her thoughts on the sexual and sensual side of the dance she was about to perform.

The Fed Is Killing The Recovery
The Federal Reserve's low interest-rate policy is crushing the recovery, argues, Jeremy Grantham, the co-founder of money management firm GMO.
There's no evidence that quantitative easing (QE) has helped the economy or increased capital spending, Grantham told Fortune.
While "there's some indication" that the crash would have been worse without the Fed's intervention, the economy would have soon rebounded without it.

The Controversial Open Carry Arrest That Attorney Says Has Township in ‘Real Trouble’
A gun owner in Flint Township, Mich., has filed a lawsuit claiming he was stopped and arrested while legally openly carrying his pistol back in December. He ended up spending Christmas in jail.
Flint Township police say the man’s gun was covered by his coat, making the arrest legal. The police dashcam video of the incident doesn’t prove either side’s story conclusively, but it does provide some additional insight.
In the video, John David McMorris, 21, can be seen stopping and putting his hands over his head when an officer turned on his police car lights. The gun appears to be visible on his right hip in the video — and Michigan is an open carry state.

CA DEMOCRAT'S ALLEGED ARMS TRAFFICKING SCHEME LINKED TO ISLAMIST REBELS
The 137-page, FBI-sworn affidavit against California State Sen. Leland Yee, a Democrat who is also running for Secretary of State, and over two dozen other individuals reads like a crime thriller.
Beyond the widely reported stories of alleged wire fraud, money laundering, corruption, and bribery, the affidavit contains tales of alleged murder-for-hire plots involving a political consultant close to Yee, as well as large international weapons trafficking operations.
Indeed, while the media have fixated on the hypocrisy of a gun-control advocate--Yee sponsored legislation against detachable magazines, for example--alleged involvement in gun smuggling, few reports delve into the kind of weapons with which Yee was allegedly involved.

Federal Judge Says Women Attorneys Should Tone Down Dress In Court
A federal judge in Nebraska who has stirred up a hornet's nest for suggesting that young women attorneys need to dress more conservatively in court has the support of one woman who holds his judicial career in her hands: Chief U.S. District Judge Laurie Smith Camp.
Senior U.S. District Judge Richard Kopf weighed in Tuesday on the topic of young women and how they dress for court on his online blog, "Hercules and the Umpire."
As a senior judge, Kopf is semiretired, taking cases assigned him. A chief judge unhappy with a senior judge's behavior could simply stop assigning him cases. That's not going to happen in Kopf's case, Smith Camp said Wednesday.

Millennial Madness: What Happens If Young Voters Bolt Both Parties? New study shows choosiest voters itching to disrupt two-party system ... When I was the age my kids are now, television networks offered three, barely distinguishable choices. Including Internet video, my kids' options are almost infinite. I walked to a library. My kids download books. I owned a few dozen cassette tapes. Their iPods stream thousands of songs. A quarter-century ago, editors decided what news I read. My kids are their own editors and publishers. My kids are Millennials, raised in an era of rapid change and boundless amounts of information, choice and customization. – National Journal
Dominant Social Theme: Nothing to see here. Millennials, too, are political creatures. They'll settle down and vote Republican or Democrat soon enough.
Free-market Analysis: Right on schedule and just as we predicted, it is suddenly occurring to mainstream pundits that the right/left paradigm of the US's political structure is collapsing. What's going to take its place? Why, a kind of libertarianism, of course.

Steven Seagal’s New Bestie: Vladimir Putin, ‘A Friend’ And ‘Brother’
Hollywood action star Steven Seagal has gone gaga over Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, calling the ex-KGBer in a lengthy interview with a government-run newspaper in Bucharest simply one of the best leaders in all the wide world.
His exact words, USA Today reported, citing Rossisskaya Gazeta: Mr. Putin is “one of the greatest living world leaders.” Mr. Seagal then adds: Mr. Putin is “a friend, would like to consider him a brother.”
The two hit it off over physical exercise. Mr. Putin has in recent months pushed for the government-run schools to return to old Soviet-style physical evaluation programs for students. And Mr. Seagal, 61, has made several appearances with the Russian leader to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle for youth.

Attorney Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch, who earlier filed the lawsuit against the spy programs, now has requested a class action certification.

The vote was 45-1, with Anne Arundel County Republican Bryan Simmonaire casting the only vote against the bill, and Prince George's County Democrat Joanne Benson did not vote.

Big Pharma profiteering gone wild: $1,000-a-pill Hepatitis drug in USA sells for less than $10 in Egypt
The financial raping of America by Big Pharma has just achieved a new milestone with the impending launch of a Hepatitis C drug that costs $1,000 a pill. If you’ve ever wondered why U.S. health care is so unaffordable and inaccessible — and why health insurance costs are bankrupting businesses and municipalities across the nation — this is exactly why. The same drug that sells for $1,000 a pill in the USA — named “Sovaldi” — sells for just $10 in Egypt, or 1/100th the USA price.

David Craig and Jeannie Haddaway on House-Passage of State Budget
Harford County Executive David Craig and Del. Jeannie Haddaway released the following joint statement upon House-passage of the state budget today:
“Maryland’s budget has increased from $29 billion in actual spending in 2007 to $40 billion proposed for fiscal year 2015, a spending increase of 36% over seven years.
“We must re-think the proper role of government in Maryland. Are we really better off with 80 tax, fee and toll increases than we were just seven years ago? Are the schools better, are the roads better, and are we better able to obtain health care or keep neighborhoods safer in 2014 compared to 2007? How is it possible that there is still a deficit in the budget after repeated promises that taxes would be the solution? It can only be attributed to mismanagement and lack of leadership.
“The results of no leadership are in. Rather than grow government, we will increase people’s take home pay and spur job creation by eventually eliminating the state’s income tax. In order to do that, we need a sound plan to stop ever-increasing spending.
"We commend the House Republican caucus for offering an alternative budget that reduces O’Malley’s spending by 3% yet still allows for a 1% increase over last year’s budget. It is a reasonable and responsible approach – especially given the recent revenue write downs.
"Unfortunately, the majority party and the state's top elected officials chose pension fund raids and other accounting tricks in a never-ending quest to increase spending and taxes."

U.S. Jobs Market Dropouts Increasingly Likely To Stay Out
A growing number of Americans quitting the labor force are likely gone for good, offering a cautionary note to the Federal Reserve as it tries to gauge how tight the jobs market is and how quickly to raise interest rates.
For a long time, data suggested a significant portion of the decrease in labor force participation was because many job seekers had grown frustrated with their search and had given up looking. If the job market tightened enough, the thinking went, these Americans would be lured back to hunt for work again.
But a different picture is now emerging. Data shows participation in the past few years has fallen mainly because Americans have retired or signed up for disability benefits.

“Delegate McDermott Votes Against O’Malley’s Budget”
ANNAPOLIS – Delegate Michael McDermott (Wicomico & Worcester Counties) voted yesterday against Governor Martin O’Malley’s $39 billion budget (Senate Bill 170). The budget, which includes a $1.5 billion increase in state spending over last year’s budget, passed through the House of Delegates without any amendments that would decrease the spending.
The budget includes over $72 million in funding for Obamacare in Maryland, including the State’s failed healthcare exchange. In addition, this budget takes $400 million from the state employee pension system over the next two years, $700 million in future years, and continues to cut local highway funding while fully funding all mass transit projects..
“This budget continues to steal highway user revenue from our county and city governments, which for decades was always a dedicated source of funding for local roads,” Delegate McDermott said. “This makes it more difficult for lower shore counties and cities to even maintain their roads let alone to conduct paving projects.”
“This budget is yet another example of our governor’s out of control spending at a time when our state is in economic straits.”
Several amendments were proposed by Delegate McDermott and other delegates that would limit the $39 billion budget, but they were ultimately rejected.
“We are simply pushing off the inevitable when passing these budgets,” Delegate McDermott continued. “We keeping adding on top of the spending until eventually we cannot spend anymore.”
“We are not the ones who will have to deal with the horrible consequences of this out of control spending, but our children will be the ones upon whom our spending falls.”
“This caps 8 years of budget increases totalling over $10 billion and representing a 37% increase in spending by the democrat controlled General Assembly.”
SB170 passed through the House with a 100-38 after passing through the Senate earlier with a 41-6 vote. Senator Jim Mathias and Delegate Norman Conway, who also represent the Lower Shore, both voted in favor of the budget. The budget will go into effect July 1, 2014, ending June 30, 2015.

"Delegate McDermott Stands Up Against the Bathroom Bill"
Today the House of Delegates will be debating SB-212 on final reading. The bill would make transgender identified people a special protected class of citizens to allow them full access to any and all public accommodations. There is great concern that this will create a host of problems for Maryland businesses. There is no real exceptions, and those that exist require similar accommodations be provided if these folks are not allowed in certain areas of an establishment (spas, locker rooms, etc.).
“We have issues in Maryland that need to be addressed,” said Delegate Mike McDermott,“and insuring that a teacher can be ‘Sam’ on Monday and ‘Sally’ on Friday is what the democrats choose to make the object of their attentions in the State House. The bill is misguided at best, and destructive at its core.”
The Republicans are making an effort to make bathrooms excepted from this bill as well as other private accommodations where people are disrobed or partially disrobed without the need to create another space for transgenders, but no floor amendments were allowed yesterday when the bill was on Second Reader. It is doubtful that the democrats will allow any changes to the bill today.
The potential outfall and burdens that will be placed upon our businesses and families cannot be fully appreciated. The failure of the House democrats to allow for us to function as a deliberative body so that this legislation can be properly scrutinized is a great injustice to our citizens.
“The fact that we are even debating this issue on the floor of the General Assembly is disturbing; but the probable passage of this legislation should make every Marylander shake the democrats from their seats” said Delegate McDermott.

Maryland House of Delegates passes $39 billion budget
The Maryland House of Delegates has passed a $39 billion budget proposal for fiscal 2015.
The House voted 100-38 to pass its version of Senate Bill 170 on Thursday. The House also voted 96-42 to pass Senate Bill 172, the Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act of 2014, a companion bill needed to balance the budget for this fiscal year.
One amendment accepted to the Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act would allow Maryland to exercise the power of eminent domain if a film production company like Media Rights Capital, which films "House of Cards" in Maryland, decided to cease film production activity in the state.
The amendment would apply to a "qualified film production entity" that has claimed more than $10 million in credits against the state income tax for film production entities.

Editor Steve Green reports, Berlin Chamber of Commerce President Tom Sholtis has confirmed Saturday's planned celebration of the town's recent victory in Budget Travel's Coolest Small Town online poll has been postponed until April 12.
With a daunting forecast, town officials reluctantly pulled the plug during a meeting today.
"Our main concern here is safety and the forecast is calling for lightning and winds on Saturday, and we can’t risk people’s safety. We want to have a celebration party for 3,000, not 300,” Sholtis said.

Secret Service Incident In Netherlands Was On Heels Of Car Wreck During Obama’s Miami Trip
As the U.S. Secret Service arrived in the Netherlands last weekend for a presidential trip, managers were already on high alert to avoid any further embarrassing incidents involving agents.
The agency’s director had admonished supervisors after two counter-sniper officers suspected of drinking were involved in a March 7 car accident during a presidential visit to Miami, according to several people with knowledge of the incident. The driver passed a field sobriety test and was not arrested.
So in Amsterdam on Saturday night, Secret Service supervisor George Hartford had the Miami incident in mind when he issued a warning to a group of agents gathered for dinner: Go out if you want, but stay out of trouble.

Corruption scandal makes Washington Democratic primary a dead heat
(Reuters) - A campaign finance scandal in the District of Columbia has made next week's Washington Democratic mayoral primary a dead heat, dissolving embattled incumbent Vincent Gray's lead, a poll showed on Wednesday
Gray, who federal prosecutors have linked to corruption charges, trails city council member Muriel Bowser, with polls showing the challenger having the support of 30 percent of likely Democratic primary voters and the incumbent just 27 percent, the Washington Post survey showed.
Support for Bowser has more than doubled since a January Post poll, while Gray's backing is unchanged. Eight candidates are running in the mayoral primary and winning that contest is seen as tantamount to winning the general election in the heavily Democratic U.S. capital.

Man Arrested for Public Consumption of Iced Tea Urged to Take a “Deal” from Prosecutors
So, it’s a warm day, and you’re standing in a parking lot, drinking a refreshing can of iced tea.
Suddenly, a random dude walks up and demands your beverage. You show him that it is in fact iced tea and that you aren’t publicly intoxicated. He tells you to give him the can and you say no, figuring this stranger can get his own iced tea.
Incidentally, the random dude is a plainclothes police officer. Despite the fact that you’re drinking iced tea, you are flung to the ground and put in a chokehold, because we all know that folks just can’t be drinking iced tea all willy-nilly in a parking lot like that.

Harry Reid in hot water for $17K campaign dole-out to granddaughter
Sen. Harry Reid — under pressure from the Federal Election Commission — revealed that he gave about $17,000 in campaign cash to his granddaughter in two separate payments that were recorded in his books as “holiday gifts.”
Shortly after the payments came to light, Mr. Reid also announced he was refunding the money, The New York Post reported.
The checks were cut in amounts of $5,417 and $11,370 and given to his granddaughter last October, the media outlet said. On paper, they were listed as amounts to a person named “Ryan Elisabeth.” It was later learned that the recipient was actually Ryan Elisabeth Reid, 23, who’s the daughter of Mr. Reid’s son, Rory, the New York Post said.

Bill To Stop Transgender Discrimination Progresses
A measure to prevent discrimination against people who are transgender has moved forward in the Maryland House of Delegates.
The bill received preliminary approval Wednesday.
Opponents say it would enable sexual predators to more easily enter female restrooms. But supporters say that's not true.
They say gender identity can be demonstrated as "consistent and uniform assertion of the person's gender identity or any other evidence that the gender identity is sincerely held as part of the person's core identity."

Deputies: Man hit girlfriend with anger management book
SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) - A Spartanburg County man is accused of hitting his girlfriend with his anger management book while she was accused of stabbing him with a boxcutter, landing both of them in jail.
Deputies said they were called to the woman's apartment Monday night where the fight broke out while watching a movie.
According to the deputy's report, Sheelah Thompson, 22, claimed Tyler Ford, 23, strangled her and threatened to kill her several times, that he put her phone in the oven so that she could not call 911 and he "popped" their infant daughter twice on the legs because she was crying.
At one point, Thompson said Ford rolled up his anger management book and hit her with it, according to deputies.

Joe,
In the last couple of weeks, there have been two robberies from local non-profit organizations. These are the current rumors that are floating around. Maybe you have heard more.
The American Legion Post 64 had approx $5,000 stolen by a recently hired employee.
The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4503 had approx $4,800 stolen, reportedly, from the Chaplains unlocked van while parked at Sam's Club.
Both of these events greatly affect these organizations as they operate on a very small budget. It will be very sad if it turns out the both this incidents were actually inside jobs.

A List Of 97 Taxes Americans Pay Every Year
If you are like most Americans, paying taxes is one of your pet peeves. The deadline to file your federal taxes is coming up, and this year Americans will spend more than 7 billion hours preparing their taxes and will hand over more than four trillion dollars to federal, state and local governments. Americans will fork over nearly 30 percent of what they earn to pay their income taxes, but that is only a small part of the story.
As you will see below, there are dozens of other taxes that Americans pay every year. Of course not everyone pays all of these taxes, but without a doubt we are all being taxed into oblivion. It is like death by a thousand paper cuts. Our politicians have become extremely creative in finding ways to extract money from all of us, and most Americans don't even realize what is being done to them. By the time it is all said and done, a significant portion of the population ends up paying more than half of what they earn to the government. That is fundamentally wrong, but nothing will be done about it until people start demanding change. The following is a list of 97 taxes Americans pay every year...

The Liberal Lies Continue From Obama Administration
What you see below was just sent to me by the Obama administration. Talk about a desperate group of LIARS. What you read below is exactly what they sent me, title and all, "This is some sick crap".

Joe -- This should humiliate anyone who's ever been associated with the Koch brothers. One of their anti-Obamacare groups is going to college campuses, giving away free booze to try to bribe young folks out of getting health insurance. Let them spend their millions on sick crap like that. Whether they like it or not, they're losing this debate, all because of the work you're doing. We're the group that's capable of putting these groups in their place. Here's why I'm writing -- we're facing a huge fundraising deadline on Monday, and I need to know if you'll chip in to help. According to our records associated with this exact email address, you haven't chipped in yet this year: -- Supporter Status: Active -- 2014 Membership: Pending -- Suggested action: Donate $5 or more today. If I had one thing to say to the Koch brothers, it'd be: "SCOREBOARD!" Despite the millions of dollars they've spent, more than 5 million Americans have already signed up for private plans through the health insurance marketplace. We're beating them through one-on-one conversations, helping people get the facts about getting covered, and dismantling the lies these groups are spreading about health care reform. No matter what change we're fighting for, it seems like the Koch brothers have always been on the other side. Our track record is pretty damn good. We've shown we can beat them, because we're building something bigger, stronger, and smarter than just a pile of money. We'll never be able to go toe-to-toe with their checkbook -- and we don't need to, because we have a much more powerful tool in the hundreds of thousands of Americans standing up to make their voices heard. That's what makes us different, and it's what makes these fundraising deadlines so important. Minimum Wage Hike Could Be Spread Over 5 Years, Tied To Raise For Disability Workers
In a compromise that could possibly move a stalled minimum wage hike out of committee, Senate Finance Chair Thomas Mac Middleton said he has been working on a potential agreement with the governor to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 over the next five years instead of three. This would also make it easier for the state to increase compensation for disability workers above the new minimum.
Middleton has been holding the House’s version of a minimum wage increase, HB295, back from a vote until he could pass his bill, SB890, to raise the pay for support staff for persons with developmentally disabilities to 50% above the minimum.
The Maryland Association of Community Services have been advocating for increasing their workers’ pay to 50% above the minimum wage, as called for in Middleton’s bill, but there are indications they might willing to settle for 35% above the new minimum wage.

U.Va. student sues state, ABC agents for $40 million
A University of Virginia student charged with assaulting two Virginia ABC agents attempting to stop her for the underage purchase of beer that turned out to be sparkling water has filed a $40 million suit against the state and seven agents.
Instead of beer, a friend of Elizabeth K. Daly, now 21, had purchased LaCroix sparkling water from a Harris Teeter store in Charlottesville. Daly said she was terrified when plain-clothed agents surrounded her car and banged on the windows ordering her to roll them down.
After one agent drew a handgun and another jumped on the car hood she said she panicked, unsure they were really agents, and fled the scene in her car grazing two of the agents. The charges were later dropped, and her record was expunged.

“Historic” Gun Rights Bill Expected to be Signed Into Law in Georgia
Last week, the Georgia state legislature approved a sweeping “guns everywhere” bill that is expected to be signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal.
The bill is being called “historic” and is generating a lot of support and of course, a lot of controversy, as The New York Times reports:
Americans for Responsible Solutions, founded by Gabrielle Giffords, the former Arizona congresswoman who was critically wounded in a mass shooting in 2011, calls it “the most extreme gun bill in America” and the “guns everywhere” legislation. The National Rifle Association, which lobbied for the bill, calls it “the most comprehensive pro-gun” bill in recent state history, and described the vote at the Capitol on Thursday as “a historic victory for the Second Amendment.”

A Political History of “Too Big to Fail”
When people talk about the concept known as “too big to fail” or “TBTF,” they generally are referring to the idea that the government is bailing out a private bank and its shareholders. The $10 per share paid to the Bear, Stearns equity holders is a case in point. The big banks, so the saying goes, privatize the profits and socialize the losses. But if you really focus on that phrase, it reflects a deeper truth about the nature of financial markets and politics in the United States that is often missed.
If you think of the end of WWI as the death of capitalism in America, what comes after is a hybrid model, part public, part private. If the years before Woodrow Wilson and WWI was the age of utopian reform, the years which followed were a time of anger and bitter betrayal for old fashioned progressives and conservatives alike. Before WWI we had private monopolies controlled by Robber Barons, but since WWII all of the monopolies have been controlled by bureaucrats in Washington.

The Creeping Theft of Freedom
We're quickly heading into the abyss. I'm serious. I offer the story you'll read below as a mere anecdote in a sea of troubles.
On return from a recent trip to Sri Lanka Mark and I traveled through Australia. Proceeding through the cattle stop that is “customs” we then met with the "security screeners". These are the folks allegedly protecting us from attackers armed with nail clippers and toothpaste.
The first thing we saw was a giant sign that said refusing to undergo a body scan would result in detention. Mark, seeing this and having never been "body scanned" was immediately taken aback. Sure enough, he was singled out to be the random subject.
Fortunately he was prepared... “I'm sorry. I have a medical condition that precludes me from the scanner.” To which the security woman said, "Sure, OK no problem, come through here (metal detector) instead."

One In 25 Patients Has An Infection Acquired During Hospital Stay, CDC Says
One in 25 patients in U.S. hospitals has an infection acquired as part of his or her care despite modest progress in controlling those pathogens inside medical facilities, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Wednesday in its most comprehensive look at a stubborn and lethal health-care problem.
The CDC’s 2011 survey of 183 hospitals showed that an estimated 648,000 patients nationwide suffered 721,000 infections, and 75,000 of them died — though it is impossible to tell from the data how many deaths were directly attributable to the acquired infection, said Michael Bell, deputy director of CDC’s division of health care quality promotion. Nevertheless, “today and every day, more than 200 Americans with healthcare-associated infections will die during their hospital stay,” CDC Director Tom Frieden said in a news release.
The most common infections are pneumonia (22 percent), surgical site infections (22 percent), gastrointestinal infections (17 percent), urinary tract infections (13 percent), and bloodstream infections (10 percent), the agency reported in the study, published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine.

EPA land grab? Agency claims authority over more streams, wetlands
In what critics are describing as a government land grab, the Environmental Protection Agency proposed a change Tuesday to the Clean Water Act that would give it regulatory authority over temporary wetlands and waterways.
The proposal immediately sparked concerns that the regulatory power could extend into seasonal ponds, streams and ditches, including those on private property.
"The ... rule may be one of the most significant private property grabs in U.S. history," said Louisiana Sen. David Vitter, the top Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

A Letter To The Editor: MSA & Common Core
Good Morning Joe,
As you are well aware, I am a frequent contributor to your posts with regard to educational matters. I am quite dismayed by the recent rash of new liberties and abuses I have read about with regard to the Wicomico County Board of Education. The financial particulars are just staggering and coupled with the current testing particulars, we are collectively doing nothing but raising children to be automatons. I can no longer do anything about the first item; however, I can be of service on the second. You see, testing is somewhat of an unknown process to the public. They trust the school system to educate their children. When that trust is broken, as I believe it has been, then it is up to those of us with knowledge of the process to rectify the situation. Specifically I am speaking about the Maryland State Assessments (MSA’s) and the State buy in to the Common Core Standards. Bear with me, as I will attempt to be as succinct as possible, but this is lengthy. First, parents may exempt their children from taking the MSA exams. This is a secret in educational circles, as it would most definitely bankrupt the testing companies and ruin quite a few self serving and corrupt careers in public education, including many right here in Wicomico County. In short, a parent of a child in a testing grade provides a letter (attached - see below) and sends it to the school Principal. The Principal will review and copy this, placing said copy in the child’s file and forward it to his/her supervisor (either Kim Miles/Secondary or Susan Jones/Elementary) who will review it as well. It will be passed up the chain of command to Assistant Superintendent Margo Handy, who will advise the Superintendent, the esteemed (sic) Dr. Freddy. If there are only a very few letters, the Principals will be instructed to respond with a form letter generated by the testing office and from my experience, the matter will be quietly placed away on a back shelf to collect dust. You see, this is the Wicomico Way – don’t draw attention to it, and it will most likely go away on its own. However, if large numbers of letters begin pouring into school offices, a general panic will ensue – here’s why: The State Superintendent EXPECTS that Dr. Freddy play nice and put all of the children in the box – the testing box that is. As the state transitions form MSA to Common Core (which the governor signed off on along with the state superintendent) there will be significant pressure to get his ducks in a row down here on the shore. Now, in laymen’s terms, “significant” amounts to just enough refusals to test to completely INVALIDATE the tests (25% would certainly do it, but 50% or more would just blow the curve). This would most definitely require the Superintendent and the senior leadership to answer to this, most likely at a private meeting in Baltimore. Believe me when I tell you that no county wants to be the first to receive this sort of black eye. Couple that with the upcoming Common Core tests that are expected to blindly be implemented, consider the following: 1. The process by which the common core was developed and adopted was not a democratic one:
There were exactly 27 people in two work groups involved – their affiliations are: ACT (6), the College Board (6) Achieve Inc. (8), Student Achievement Partners (2), America’s Choice (2). Only three participants were outside of those five organizations. There was only one classroom teacher involved to review math standards.
There were also just over 10,000 comments submitted to the constructors of the Common Core, but only 24 of the responses were quoted, and we’re left to take these folks at their word that all of the rest of the comments were positive and supportive.
Now, here is the really scary truth – the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is funding this – that is because it is illegal for the government to do so:
Public Law 103-33, General Education Provisions Act, sec 432, reads as follows:
No provision of any applicable program shall be construed to authorize any department, agency, officer, or employee of the United States to exercise any direction, supervision, or control over the curriculum, program of instruction, (or) administration…of any educational institution…or over the selection of library resources, textbooks, or other printed or published instructional materials…
Essentially, big government and private industry are driving this to make money – period

Virginia lawmakers recess without Medicaid, budget deal
(Reuters) - Virginia's legislature has recessed without reaching agreement with Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe over a budget or Medicaid expansion.
McAuliffe, a former Democratic Party fundraiser, and the Republican-dominated House of Delegates are deadlocked over a two-year pilot expansion of Medicaid, the federal healthcare program for the poor the governor has proposed.
House lawmakers meeting in a two-day special session defeated McAuliffe's proposed $96 billion two-year budget late on Tuesday. The House then passed its own version of the budget without Medicaid expansion, seen as a priority for the governor, before adjourning.
