Ezeikiel Emanuel speaks.

Ezekiel Emanuel, Obama's 'Deadly Doctor,' Strikes Back

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the medical ethicist and oncologist who advises President Obama, does not own a television, and if you catch him in a typically energized moment, when his mind speeds even faster than his mouth, he is likely to blurt out something like, "I hate the Internet." So it took him several days in late July to discover he had been singled out by opponents of health-care reform as a "deadly doctor," who, according to an opinion column in the New York Post, wanted to limit medical care for "a grandmother with Parkinson's or a child with cerebral palsy." (Read an interview with Obama on health care.)

"I couldn't believe this was happening to me," says Emanuel, who in addition to spending his career opposing euthanasia and working to increase the quality of care for dying patients is the brother of White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. "It is incredible how much one's reputation can be besmirched and taken out of context." (See pictures of health care for the uninsured.)

CAROLINE CO. MURDER VICTIM IDENTIFIED

(Preston, MD) – A man murdered in Caroline County last week has been identified and Maryland state troopers are asking for the public’s help in developing information about the three suspects responsible for his murder.

The victim is identified as Virgilio Morales Hernandez, 37, who had no fixed address. He was identified by a relative currently working in New Jersey. Hernandez was from Guatemala and was a migrant worker who had been employed on farms on the upper Eastern Shore.

Shortly before midnight on August 6, 2009, two men and a woman entered a rural residence where ten migrant workers were living in the 6400-block of Bell Creek Road, Preston. Both men were armed with handguns and the three demanded money. The victim began arguing with the suspects and was shot and killed. Another man in the house was struck in the face with a handgun. The suspects escaped with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspects are described only as a white female and two African American males. The suspects are believed to have left the area after the murder in a gray or silver car that was likely parked along Bell Creek Road during the robbery and murder.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit are continuing this investigation, with assistance of troopers from Easton Barracks and deputies and officers from local law enforcement. Anyone with information about this murder, or anyone who may have been traveling on Bell Creek Road between 11:00 p.m. on August 6th and 1:00 a.m. on August 7th, is urged to contact Maryland State Police at the Easton Barracks at 410-822-3101. Calls may be kept confidential.

Ireton Vetoes Lake Street Land Deal

Salisbury mayor Jim Ireton exercised his first veto today, by return a resolution to “accept” environmentally damaged land fronting Lake Street and the North Prong of the Wicomico River.  For this action, Ireton deserves kudos.

However, beneath this issue lies a problem that is equally as serious as putting the taxpayers on the hook for an environmental mess of unknown magnitude.  This matter involves City Attorney Paul Wilber.  As noted in SbyNEWS, Wilber has had no problem with his lord and master (former mayor Barrie Tilghman) vetoing resolutions.  However, the city charter is pretty clear.  Resolutions do not require the mayor’s signature.  According to the Tilghman Times, Wilber has invented a power that gives him the power to decide whether or not a resolution is meaningful enough to require mayoral approval:

… Wilber said only resolutions which relate to significant action may be overridden. Recognition as significant city business is an opinion by the city attorney made on a case by case basis due to vague language in the city charter, Wilber said.

Given Wilber’s approach to interpreting law, I’m surprised that the Obama administration hasn’t nominated him for a federal judgeship.

There is another problem.  This “resolution” really isn’t a resolution at all.  While calling the property acquisition a “donation”, it is really a purchase.  Under the terms of the agreement with the current owner, the city is to pay off a $50,000 mortgage.  Real estate purchases must be approved by ordinance, requiring two readings and a public hearing.  Unless I am mistaken, Wilber (or an attorney from his office) drafts or approves EVERY piece of legislation.  Therefore, it appears that Wilber now seems to believe that he works not for the mayor (certainly not for the citizens of Salisbury), but for City Administrator John Pick and for the Barrie Comegys party.

Ireton should immediately seek an independent legal opinion.  If, as I believe it will, that opinion concurs with the opinion that this was a purchase and not a gift, Wilber should be dismissed IMMEDIATELY as the city attorney.  Since Wilber is not a department head (like Ed Baker is for Wicomico County), Ireton does not need city council approval.

Ireton’s action today, was the right thing to do.  It was also legally questionable.  This needs to be cleared up ASAP.

CAN SALISBURY’S MAYOR VETO A CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION?

The answer to that question may depend on who holds the office of mayor and who is City Attorney.

Some years ago Barrie Tilghman vetoed Resolution No 765, passed to authorize the extension of sewer and water lines to Perdue Stadium and Wor-Wic College, and Paul Wilber had no problem with that. But according to his statement in the Daily Times this week, Jim Ireton may not be able to veto the Resolution that was passed the Council to authorize the City’s purchase of some polluted property on Lake Street.

Go figure.

From The Front Lines, The Butterfield Protest

Message #1:

"While our people were protesting outside, here is a report from inside the hall..

I was in the auditorium, and there did NOT seem to be many union people. In fact, the Union members were a group of about a dozen people. I was about the last person allowed in the auditorium. The media took up several rows of seats for their cameras. Also, there were some seats that were reserved for Cardin staff members and elected officials.

Believe me when I say that the overwhelming number of people were against Obamacare. The audience was loud and passionate, and a few hecklers. There were also very cogent questions asked from the audience mikes, and one of my colleagues was asked by Cardin to meet with him afterwards (as in set up an appointment) to contribute some of his ideas about transparency by doctors, hospitals and the like.

Whatever you guys were doing outside, we were hard at work inside doing the same thing!

Regards and God Bless America

Diane Mahoney

P.S.
About 20 of us ambushed Sen. Cardin has he tried to escape out the back door. I asked one of his police escorts if there had been a group of 200 or so union members taking up a portion of the 500 available seats. Supposedly the Acorn and Union people grabbed seats early as they were there for one of their meetings (slick story) and then stayed for the town hall meeting. Even FOX heard reports on the bussing in of Acorn and union members."

One Year Ago Today

It's unbelievable how time flies! One year ago today I was invited to tour the new WBOC Newsplex Studio. They were gearing up for the new High Definition Broadcasts and spent, (I believe) somewhere around $13,000,000.00 on the new facility.

Home Prices Fall A Record 15.6%

Year-over-year prices may have fallen at a record pace, but there are signs of improvement.

NEW YORK
(CNNMoney.com) -- Median home prices fell a record 15.6% during the three months ended June 30, compared to the same period in 2008, according to an industry report.

There is good news though: The survey from the National Association of Realtors reported the median home price rose 4% compared to the first quarter of 2009 -- to $174,100 from $167,300.

The increase in median price was not a surprise, representing, as it did, the traditionally strong spring selling season. But the jump did offer the prospect that the worst of the price declines may be behind us.

U.S., Swiss Nail Deal On Secret Bank Accounts

Agreement reached, but no details have been released

MIAMI
- The U.S. government and Swiss banking giant UBS AG have reached an agreement in a case seeking names of some 52,000 suspected American tax evaders with billions in secret Swiss accounts, but details may remain under wraps until next week, officials said.

Lawyers for the government and UBS told a federal judge in a brief conference call they had initialed a deal after a delay last week to settle undisclosed details.

The Internal Revenue Service, which initiated the case against UBS earlier this year, said in a statement the deal "protects the United States government's interests." But the two-sentence statement from IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman added only that more details will be released when the Swiss government signs the agreement as early as next week.

Bear Woman Charged With Stealing From An Elderly Female

Location: Delaware Park, 777 Delaware Park Boulevard, Wilmington, Delaware

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday, August 12th, 2009, at 1:59 a.m.

Suspect(s): Deborah Meadows, 55, of Bear, Delaware

Resume: Earlier today, Troopers were dispatched to Delaware Park Race Track and Slots for the report of a theft where the victim was an elderly female.

Troopers arrived on the scene and contacted security who told them a 77-year-old female victim came to their office to report that someone had stolen her medication.

The security staff went back and viewed surveillance footage from earlier in the evening and advised that at 1:59 a.m., a female who was later identified as Deborah Meadows, was captured on surveillance video as she approached the victim as she was playing slots.

With the walker out of sight, the suspect began to rummage through the storage bag attached to the walker. She then removed the victim’s medication.

The security staff acted quickly and located the suspect on the casino floor. They then detained her until Troopers arrived.

Deborah Meadows was formally charged with Theft (felony) and released on a $2,500.00 unsecured bond. Ms. Meadows was then transported to the New Castle County Sheriff’s Office as a computer check revealed she was wanted on an active capias.

Club For Growth Releases 2009 House RePORK Card

Washington – At a time when our national priority ought to be economic growth, House members have been busy stuffing the 2010 appropriations bills with wasteful pork projects. While Representatives John Campbell, Jeff Flake, and Jeb Hensarling offered 68 amendments to strip outrageous pork projects from the 12 annual spending bills, none of the amendments passed.

The Club for Growth has compiled a RePORK Card of all members' votes on all 68 anti-pork amendments. “When given an opportunity to save taxpayer dollars and to limit spending to true national priorities, most members of Congress took a pass,” said Club Executive Director David Keating. "The RePORK Card will help taxpayers measure the dedication of their representatives to changing the culture of corruption that surrounds pork-barrel spending."

Though Congress skipped the regular appropriations process last year, the Club issued a similar RePORK Card in 2007. Some interesting numbers to consider from the new RePORK Card:

22 House members received a 100% score – 1 Democrat and 21 Republicans (In 2007, there were only 16 perfect scores, all Republicans)
211 House members received a 0% score – 202 Democrats and 9 Republicans (In 2007, there were only 105 zero scores – 81 Democrats and 24 Republicans)
The Dem member average score was 3%, with a median of 0%
The GOP member average score was 57%, with a median of 69%
The Dem leadership team had an average of 0% (majority leader, whip, chair)
The GOP leadership team had an average of 91% (minority leader, whip, chair)
Appropriators had an average of 6%, compared to 28% for non-appropriators
Blue Dog Democrats had an average score of 7%, and a median of 0% (52 members)
Republican Study Committee members had an average score of 69%, and a median of 82% (113 members)
Freshmen Democrats had an average score of 10%, and a median of 1% (32 members)
Freshmen Republicans had an average score of 64%, and a median of 71% (22 members)

Some of the targeted pork projects this year include:

$325,000 for the Institute for Seafood Studies in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
$250,000 for the Monroe County Farmer’s Market in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.
$150,000 for the restoration of Tarrytown Music Hall in Tarrytown, New York.
$100,000 for the Myrtle Beach Conference Center in South Carolina.
$90,000 for the Commercial Kitchen Business Incubator project in Watsonville, California.
$1 million for potato research in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

Septage Facility Closing At Salisbury Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)

The Septage Treatment Facility at the City’s WWTP will close effective Tuesday, September 1, 2009.

The City has operated a Septage Treatment Facility at the WWTP for almost 30 years, under an agreement with Wicomico County. Now, for a variety of reasons, it is no longer feasible or financially beneficial for the City to keep the Septage Treatment Facility open.

In order for septage disposal fees to be set high enough to offset the operating costs of the facility, the fee would be prohibitive for septage haulers. Also, now that the City’s WWTP has been upgraded from a secondary treatment facility to provide for enhanced nutrient removal with very tight permit limits from the Maryland Department of the Environment, it is no longer acceptable for the City to introduce septage to the treatment process.

Black Blogger Alliance Hits Talk Show Host Where It Hurts

After calling Barack Obama a "racist" who "has a deep-seated hatred for white people" on a Fox News show, a coalition of black bloggers went after the controversial talk show host, causing Procter & Gamble and other advertisers to pull ads from Beck's talk show, Mediabistro's TV Newser reports.

The Examiner wrote that an orchestrated campaign resulted in 100,000 complaints to Fox News execs.

TV Newser writes that the advertising pulls aren't effecting the network's bottom line:

A Fox News spokesperson told TVNewser that the advertisers simply moved their spots from Beck to other programs on the network, "so there has been no revenue lost."

CYBER TROOPERS MAKE ARREST FOR SEXUAL SOLICITATION OF A MINOR

(Baltimore, MD) – A man who had been making online plans to allegedly have sex with someone he thought was a 13-year old girl, had his plans interrupted this morning when he was arrested by members of the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

The suspect is identified as Christopher Scott Fowble, 30, of the 800-block of South Darby Street in Baltimore, Maryland. He is charged with one count of solicitation of a minor. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison and/or a $25,000 fine.

The investigation began in June 2009, when an undercover state trooper assigned to the Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force entered a Maryland chat room. The online identity indicated the person was a young girl. Communication was received from an individual who identified himself as a 30 year old male from Baltimore.

During the next few weeks, online conversations occurred between the man and an undercover trooper posing as a 13-year-old girl. Most of the conversations had sexual overtones or were discussions of the two meeting for sex. Investigators identified the adult as the suspect, Fowble.

On August 11, 2009, through instant messaging, Fowble made arrangements to meet the person he thought was a 13-year-old girl in Baltimore and have sexual intercourse with her. The two were to meet at 10:00 a.m.

Fowble arrived at the designated meeting place shortly before 10:00 a.m. He was arrested by Maryland State Police and taken to Central Booking for processing. The Baltimore City Police Department assisted in the arrest.

Who would have ever thought Stacy Sakai would be the #1 reason why people come to Salisbury News, but it's a fact.
While our Alexa Numbers have proven to shock the MSM, surpassing WMDT, (in fact) an ABC affiliate, one local Blog has proven that more viewers are coming to Blogs, (this one anyway) than relying on the Main Stream Media.
Mind you, Salisbury News is not connected to a stream of MSM outlets, making this recent change in standings quite impressive.
Just imagine if we were connected with every Gannett Newspaper. ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. around the world what our ratings would look like then!

Indonesia: Dead Man Is Florist, Not Top Militant

Police: DNA tests confirm gunfight victim was ‘arranger,’ not mastermind

JAKARTA, Indonesia
- Indonesia's most wanted Islamist militant, accused in a string of deadly terror attacks including a bombing in Bali, was not killed in a shootout last week as initial media reports suggested and remains at large, police said Wednesday.

Tests comparing the body's DNA with that of members of Noordin Muhammad Top's family came back negative, said Eddy Saparwoko, head of the national police victim identification unit. The body was found to be that of a florist linked to Noordin who police said was a member of a terrorist cell that led last month's twin suicide hotel bombings in Jakarta.

Ocean City Fire Department Press Release

OCEAN CITY HOTEL EVACUATED DUE TO HIGH LEVELS OF CARBON MONOXIDE

An investigation as to the cause of the elevated levels of carbon monoxide inside the Americana Hotel located at 916 Atlantic Ave., has been initiated by the Fire Marshals Division of the Ocean City Fire Department.

Although the cause is still under investigation, pending review from a third party mechanical inspector, the hotel's LP gas-burning equipment has not been ruled out as a potential factor in the incident. Public occupancy of the hotel has been prohibited by the Fire Marshals Division and the Town of Ocean City Building Inspectors Office, pending the conclusion of the Fire Marshals investigation as well as the review by the mechanical inspection agency.

The hotel is protected by a fire alarm system and a sprinkler system. However, Carbon monoxide detectors were not installed in the structure. The Ocean City Fire Prevention Code requires the installation of Carbon Monoxide Detectors in multi-family dwellings such as hotels and motels to ensure the safe operation of fuel burning devices.

The initial two victims were transported to the hospital and are currently being held for observation. A third victim was treated and released at the scene.

The Ocean City Tourism Department and the Ocean City Hotel Motel Restaurant Association assisted the building management in arranging for accommodations for the displaced hotel guests.

Nissan Pokes Fun At Volt, Claims 367 Mpg Equivalent For Leaf EV

Not content to let General Motors grab all the shiny happy tree-huggy headlines today with its 230 mpg claim for the Chevy Volt in city operation, the gang manning the NissanEVs Twitter account needled GM's range-extended EV messiah, tweeting:

Nissan Leaf = 367 mpg, no tailpipe, and no gas required. Oh yeah, and it'll be affordable too!

Given that the methodology of how the feds will ultimately arrive at the official mileage numbers (or mileage equivalents) for many of these next-gen greenmobiles is not yet finalized, we'll take all the hype and scoreboard pointing with a grain of salt until we see actual, final numbers posted at FuelEconomy.gov. (Nissan says its 367 mpg figure was derived by using the Department of Energy formula.)

In any case, a Twitter spitball fight between GMBlogs and NissanEVs over this stuff would be kind of entertaining to watch. Sorta like the nerdy opposite of the ZR1 vs. GT-R debate.

Swastika Painted At Congressman's Office

WASHINGTON (Aug. 11) -- A swastika was found Tuesday painted on a sign outside Rep. David Scott's district office, an act the Georgia Democrat said reflects an increasingly hateful and racist debate over health care and should serve as a reminder for people to tone down their rhetoric.

Scott's staff arrived at his Smyrna, Ga., office Tuesday morning to find the Nazi graffiti emblazoned on a sign bearing the lawmaker's name. The vandalism occurred roughly a week after Scott was involved in a contentious argument over health care at a community meeting.

Don't expand library, add satellite locations instead

Regarding the design and location of a new Wicomico Public Library, I believe the public may not need a state of the art, elaborate and huge new building.

A woman who said she walks miles to get to the library should provide a clue that instead of one "bigger and better" building, we need several smaller satellite buildings.

At least one location in each of the four directions from the city, with access to various media, especially computer terminals, would perhaps better serve the community.

There are empty buildings in each direction which could be utilized to bring library access to those who need it most.

Call to TRY and see YOUR Senator.

Like so many Democrat congressmen, Sen. Ben Cardin isn’t looking forward to explaining his pro-ObamaCare stance to constituents.  That is why Cardin is making constituents make a reservation if they want to see him.

Want to ask a question?  You have to submit it in writing; in advance.

Cardin will be at SU on August 13, from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM.  Call 410-546-6001 to request a seat.  If they won’t give you a seat, show up anyway.  Many of your fellow citizens are planning on being there to give Cardin a piece of their mind whether Cardin let’s them in the building or not.

The Gratitude Salute

This is pretty neat and short video... Have you ever seen one of our military walking past you and wanted to convey to them your thanks, but weren't sure how, or it felt awkward?

Recently, a gentleman from Seattle created a gesture which could be used to express your thanks and has started a movement to get the word out..

Please everybody take just a moment to watch..... The Gratitude Salute

...and then forward it to your friends!

THEN START USING THE SIGN.

Pee-wee Herman To Return After 20 Years

Comedian Paul Reubens will bring back character for L.A. stage show

LOS ANGELES
- After 20 years in retirement – Pee-wee Herman is back.

Actor Paul Reubens is bringing back his beloved character in a stage show this coming November at the Music Box at The Fonda in Hollywood.

“I’ve put part of him away for a long time, but part of him has always been here with me,” the actor told the Los Angeles Times. “I think it will be like riding a bike — which is not a bad analogy for Pee-wee, by the way.”

Kratovil Town Hall-Youtube Videos And Media Coverage

Story filed by Gerald Adams, Tea Party Chronicler.

The following videos will demonstrate why Congressman Kratovil is not worthy of the trust we put him in. He won his seat by a plurality of 3,000 votes, we can easily erase this..

We will all Work together to defeat Kratovil's re-election campaign in 2010.

Do not be fooled by this ambitious, slimy individual that puts his Party's desires (he claims to be a "Blue Dog" Democrat but he really is Pelosi's Lap dog) ahead of his voters. He voted for Cap and Trade and he will vote for OBAMACARE.

During the meeting, while claiming to be "Neutral" on OBAMACARE, his staffers were distributing OBAMACARE support material to the crowd.. He is, at worst case a Bold Face Liar and at best a Hypocrite. This man does not deserve a second term from us......

We pasted below the links to the video's recorded at the Kratovil event. Also forwarded the video Jeremy Walker recorded. That way you all can have 2 view points. We also got some good coverage with channel 45 (see below).

We showed up at the Town Hall meeting Kratovil, also a coward not willing to face the Voters, had closed to the public. Therefore, we protested outside as you can see in the videos. Kratovil, exited from the building and shunned his constituents outside who were waiting to hear from him. He then ignored our questions regarding his position on the Constitution and OBAMACARE.

As you can see we (the constituents) had to chase him around the building trying to get some answers. The congressman ignored us at every turn.

Snopes Uncovered

Snopes "uncovered" as a Gosip Monger.....

As we suspected, Snopes isn’t the unimpeachable source they would like you to believe … Tony Passaro

I have been telling people this for months now. I knew I had caught them in 2 outright political lies. I'm glad others are smarter about their slanted point of view and pontifications. A newsman who allows his personal point of view to sway his news stories is no longer a newsman. He is then a gossip monger and this husband and wife team are just that "Gosip Mongers".!

Maybe you better read this....then switch to w.TRUTHorFICTION.com like I have. Snopes is no longer my final arbiter of facts.

For the past few years http://www.snopes.com/ has positioned itself, or others have labeled it as the 'tell-all, final word' on any comment, claim and e-mail.

But for several years people tried to find out who exactly was behind snopes.com. Only recently did Wikipedia get to the bottom of it - kind of makes you wonder what they were hiding Well, finally we know. It is run by a husband and wife team - that's right, no big office of investigators and researchers, no team of lawyers. It's just a mom-and-pop shop that began as a hobby.

David and Barbara Mikkelson in the San Fernando Valley of California started the website about 13 years ago - and they have no formal background or experience in investigative research. After a few years it gained popularity believing it to be unbiased and neutral, but over the past couple of years people started asking questions who was behind it and did they have a selfish motivation?

The reason for the questions - or skepticisms - is a result of snopes.com Claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or issues, when in fact, they have been proven wrong. Also, there were criticisms the Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the 'true' bottom of various issues. Also that they were slanting their reporting to support their Liberal Agendas.

When I saw that Snopes had falsely claimed that Obama's Birth Certificate had been properly validated, I realized something was wrong with either their research and/or their credibility. It seems something is seriously wrong with both.

Then a few months ago, when my State Farm agent Bud Gregg in Mandeville hoisted a political sign referencing Barack Obama and made a big splash across the internet, supposedly the Mikkelson's claim to have researched this issue before posting their findings on snopes.com. In their statement they claimed the corporate office of State Farm pressured Gregg into taking down the sign, when in fact nothing of the sort ever took place.

I personally contacted David Mikkelson (and he replied back to me) thinking he would want to get to the bottom of this, and I gave him Bud Gregg's contact phone numbers. Bud was going to give him phone numbers to the big exec's at State Farm in Illinois who would have been willing to speak with him about it. He never called Bud In fact, I learned from Bud Gregg no one from snopes.com ever contacted anyone with State Farm. Yet snopes.com issued a statement as the 'final factual word' on the issue as if they did all their homework and got to the bottom of things. Not!

Then it has been learned the Mikkelson's are very Left Wing Radical IDEALOGS and extremely liberal.

As we all now know from this Presidential election, Liberals have a purpose agenda to discredit anything that appears to be conservative. There has been much criticism lately over the internet with people pointing out the Mikkelson's liberalism revealing itself in their website findings. Gee, what a shock!

So, I say this now to everyone who goes to http://www.snopes.com/ to get what they think to be the bottom line facts: Proceed with caution. Take what it says with a grain of salt and nothing more. Use it only to lead you to their references where you can link to and read the sources for yourself. Plus, you can always google a subject and do the research yourself. It now seems apparent that's all the Mikkelson's do. After all, I can personally vouch from my own experience for their 'not' fully looking into things.

HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009

Please send this to everybody on your list... this is Obama gun control by secrecy

Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House.
This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009..
We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program.
Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar.
To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:
...It is registered
...You are fingerprinted
...You supply a current Driver's License
...You supply your Social Security #
...You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing
...Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be
reported and costs $25
- Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are
subject up to a year in jail.

....There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.

The Government would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this..
http://www.opencong/ress.org/bill/111-h45/text

It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this.
Pass the word along.

FAILURE TO DO SO AT YOUR PERIL!

Any hunters in your family - pass this along.

Peter Boyles is on this and having guests. Listen to him on KHOW 630 a.m. in the morning.

He suggests the best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and "spring into action". Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs and especially the NRA..

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.

This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not.

Got A Dog Who Hates Storms? Try ‘Thunderwear’

Earmuffs, snug leotards are among the remedies for stressed-out canines

Dog owners who spend many a stormy night struggling to get some sleep while a panting, drooling, trembling pet climbs around on top of them know that the fear of thunder can be a tricky problem to solve.

Dogs with the condition often look to their owners for comfort, yet are in such a state of panic, they are inconsolable. And it can be hard to know how to soothe an upset dog without unwittingly reinforcing its anxiety.

Potential remedies include medication, desensitizing the dog to thunder and training it to retreat to a safe place when a storm hits. There is also canine "thunderwear" such as earmuffs, head halters and swaddling attire, including a snug leotard for animals called a sheep suit, that can help calm stressed-out dogs.

South Governors Avenue Improvements Will Create New Capitol City Gateway

By: Carolann Wicks, P.E., Secretary, Delaware Department of Transportation

Dover
-- In July, 2008, the Department of Transportation (DelDOT) closed South Governors Avenue to through traffic between Webbs Lane and Wyoming Avenue. The closure was to accommodate the construction of a larger and more modern bridge at the Puncheon Run. But the bridge work is only part of an overall $11-million project, which runs the length of South Governors Avenue from Webbs Lane to Water Street. Many years of cooperative planning between the City of Dover and DelDOT resulted in this significant project. It will be a fully completed in the fall of 2010.

I am happy to report that last week, South Governors Avenue across the Puncheon Run bridge was re-opened to through traffic.

While the bridge is now open to traffic, let me remind motorists, businesses, and nearby residents that the project has not been completed. Work crews have already been working north of Wyoming Avenue on utility issues. In the coming months, the remainder of the project work will move completely into the area between Wyoming Avenue and Water Street.

South Governors Avenue will remain open to through traffic during the balance of the project, but there will be times when lane restrictions will be in place. Motorists may face delays, but they will be able to drive through the work area.

At this point in the construction, I thought it was appropriate to recognize the residents and businesses that had to deal with the issues brought about by the closure of the roadway. A number of the businesses are dependent upon drive-by traffic and were forced to contend with the hardships created by the loss of customers. Unfortunately, just about the same time that construction started, national economic issues erupted - spiraling gasoline prices that reached $4 per gallon locally, the declines in the housing and stock markets, and layoffs.

To those businesses that persevered and endured the hardships, I want to extend my gratitude. I assure them, and the businesses in the area where construction will begin next, that DelDOT is aware of and sensitive to the problems that construction causes. We will continue to strive to do what we can to minimize entrance impacts, with advance notice and open communication.

At the same time, the long-term benefits of a project such as we are undertaking on South Governors Avenue have to be weighed against the short-term complications. The bridge replacement may help alleviate some of the flooding issues that have plagued nearby homeowners when the Puncheon Run gets swollen with too much water. The South Governors Avenue project had its genesis in a Highway Safety Improvement Project, so to that end, the roadway will be made safer with a dedicated center turn lane for protected left turns. Additional improvements include sidewalks, bike lanes, and drainage improvements. A safer roadway with better mobility for pedestrians will mean more potential customers feeling comfortable patronizing the businesses on South Governors Avenue in the future.

I encourage everyone to visit the area and cross the new bridge. DelDOT did not just replace an old bridge. The department used the replacement as an opportunity to create an attractive gateway into the City of Dover. This is the first project in the greater Dover area, in which electric, telephone and cable lines are being buried, eliminating the visual clutter that plagued the roadway. That visual appeal will also drive more business into the area.

For the businesses and motorists affected by the bridge replacement and closure, a difficult period is over. DelDOT appreciates your patience and cooperation. We will continue to communicate the progress of the work as it moves north into the second phase of construction.

Thank you,
Carolann Wicks, P.E.
Secretary, Delaware Department of Transportation
Carolann Wicks was appointed Delaware's eighth secretary of transportation by Gov. Ruth Ann Minner in February 2006, and re-appointed to the position by Governor Jack Markell in 2009. Medical Bail Out!

The Medical Profession Speaks out on the Financial Bail-Out Package.

The allergists voted to scratch it, and the dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.

The gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the neurologists thought the administration had a lot of nerve, and the obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception.

The ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted; the pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the pediatricians said, "Oh, Grow up!"

The psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, the radiologists could see right through it, and the surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing.

The internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the plastic surgeons said, "This puts a whole new face on the matter."

The podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the urologists felt the scheme wouldn't hold water.

The anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas; and the cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.

In the end, the proctologists left the decision up to the a-holes in Washington.

View hundreds of Bel Air Marylanders as they protest Congressman Frank Kratovil, self styled "Blue Dog Democrat" for voting "YES" on "Cap and Trade" as well as "ObamaCare"..Many of the Maryland's First District folks see the Congressman as an Obamaphile and literally as a "Pelosi Lap Dog" .

Kratovil was "Out of the Country" but that did not stop angry voters from taking on Kratovil for his spotty voting record in Congress. Many feel that he is a "Liberal Wolf hiding in Conservative Clothing".

They state that on non-essential votes, Kratovil makes a show of voting "Conservative" but on the important issues he votes as a"Liberal" siding with Obama and Pelosi.

Another example of his two faced approach, at a recent Town Hall Meeting, in North East Md. while the Congressman was claiming to be neutral on Obamacare, his staff was handing out Pro-Obamacare material. Kind of caught speaking out of both sides of his mouth.. His staffers were also overheard making disparaging remarks and minamalizing the Town Hall Attendees by labeling them "Paid Disgruntled Republicans"..

The Freshman Congressman has angered voters in Maryland's First District with stunts like this and will most likely be voted out of office in 2010.

Authorities are looking for a man they've identified as Nathan Burris in the killing of the toll collector — a 51-year-old Richmond woman — and a man who was sitting in a parked car at the entrance of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

ARE COMEGYS, SMITH & SHIELDS IN BED WITH A SCAM ARTIST ON THE "NORTH PRONG" LAND DEAL?

Take a minute and "google" one Bernard Kapiloff, a/k/a "SALKAP, LLC," who wants to sell to the City of Salisbury for $50,000 the same property that he purchased for $10,000 just a few years ago, known to be contaminated from when it was an oil storage facility.

Here’s a sample of what one finds:

This is from an article from the Baltimore Sun newspaper:

By Ariel Sabar, Sun Staff

December 24, 2001

City and state officials say that a North Baltimore doctor and newspaper publisher is responsible for one of the largest illegal tire junkyards in Maryland, and they are asking a District Court judge to force him to clean it up.

Dr. Bernard Kapiloff, a retired plastic surgeon, has failed for seven months to make good on promises to clean up his company's condemned 3-acre lot on a desolate dead end in Park Heights, officials say. The roughly 18,000 tires that fill a building and rusty trailers there make it one of the state's biggest unauthorized tire dumps, according to Maryland environmental officials.

"What stands out here is the size and type of violation," says Michael E. Braverman, chief of code enforcement for the city Department of Housing and Community Development. " This is an enormous snub to municipal government."

City officials say the case, filed Thursday in District Court, is part of a campaign against the heaps of refuse that mar poor sections of the city. They say this case is particularly worrisome because of the large number of tires, which are breeding grounds for mosquitos and rats and can lead to fires.

* * * * *

This is from a court opinion from 1998 that begins as follows:

Bernard and Lynn Kapiloff own six commercial properties in Balti- more City, which are located in high risk areas and have been par tially vacant over the years. Portions of one property were vandalized in December 1994 and again in March 1995, and a fire broke out in another property in February 1995. The Kapiloffs submitted claims totaling $668,421 to United Capitol Insurance Company, their insurer, for those losses. United Capitol denied the claims because of "misrepresentations, omissions, and concealments" about the properties and, alternatively, because the properties violated the "vacancy" and "protective safeguards" conditions in its policy. Thereafter, United Capitol sued the Kapiloffs for a declaratory judgment, and the Kapiloffs filed a counterclaim for breach of contract. They also joined their insurance brokers as parties, alleging negligence.

Ruling that the properties were either vacant or lacked protective safeguards and that the "vacancy" and "protective safeguards" conditions in the insurance policy operated to exclude coverage for the losses, the district court entered summary judgment in favor of United Capitol. It also ruled in favor of the insurance brokers who procured the United Capitol policy on behalf of the Kapiloffs on the grounds that suitable insurance was not available in the market and that one broker was not an agent of the Kapiloffs. For the reasons that follow, we affirm in part, reverse in part, and remand for further proceedings.

* * * * *

This is from an announcement by Maryland’s Environment Department:

Bernard Kapiloff & DAB –Andard Ltd. Partnership Baltimore City were issued a Complaint, Order and two $5,000 Civil Penalties on Dec. 1 for illegal storage and disposal of scrap tires on two Baltimore City properties.

Are you really surprised that the three stooges want to befriend this guy?

And when you google, check the EPA’s report on the Lake Street property that the City wants to buy without doing ordinary due diligence under the circumstances:
