Scottish Man Convicted Of Calling Ex-Girlfriend's Boyfriend A "Leprechaun"

I have been a critic of the alarming criminalizing of speech in Great Britain through hate speech laws. Such laws create an insatiable appetite for greater and greater speech regulation and create a sense of empowerment among citizens to silence those with whom they disagree.

Now, a Scottish man has been convicted of a message that was grossly offensive, indecent or menacing. According to the Evening Express, the prosecutor (appropriately named Susan Love) cited the fact that Terry Myers, 41, called the Irish boyfriend of his ex-girlfriend a “leprechaun.”

Love declared that the mail was threatening but added that it was a racially aggravated offense due to the use of the word “leprechaun.”

His defense attorney said that the two men had a “petty and pathetic” history and that his client regretted the use of the term.

He was nevertheless found guilty and fined £280 ($350) for the offense.

We have been following (here and here and here and and and here and and here and here) the worsening situation in England concerning free speech. The problem is trying to draw such lines rather than embracing free speech as protecting not just popular but unpopular and even hateful speech. Once you start as a government to criminalize speech, you end up on a slippery slope of censorship.

Kaepernick's 49.2 QB Rating Is Why He's Out of the NFL

The pampered mobs who have taken over Seattle and portions of other liberal dumpster-fire cities have been flailing about for a leader whom they can crown as King of the #Resistance. The Idiot Dictator in charge of the National Football League and his suddenly woke players seem to want that figurehead to be one of its more spectacular failures, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Kaepernick hasn’t been in the league for a few years now but the woke mob keeps him in the national conversation. Nike made Kaepernick a constant presence via finger-wagging advertising that transformed him from failed quarterback to martyr, which is probably the job he really wants.

There is a lot of speculation that Kaepernick really doesn’t want to be back in the NFL, he just wants to be the guy who gets to whine about being kept out of the NFL.

The conversation focusing on Kaepernick long ago stopped being about his football skills. The prevailing politically correct narrative is that he was drummed out of the NFL because he was kneeling in protest during the National Anthem before each game. Anyone who suggests otherwise is immediately branded a racist.

President Trump Just Crushed Ocean City Maryland

As if Governor Hogan didn't cause enough damage to the Maryland business community, now comes President Trump signing an executive order to stop all J1's from entering the United States. To top that off he extended unemployment.

Look, you all know I'm bias on this one and I admit that up front. Would I love to be open 7 days a week at Caribbean Joe's, absolutely. However, I, (nor most every bar/restaurant business owner I know) can't find quality employees.

When you come to Ocean City Maryland you ultimately pay an inflated price for almost everything. Because prices can be so high you expect good food, services and experiences. That can only be done by having enough staff to keep things moving properly.

In our case we rely on J1's to book the entire Motel, (Alamo) and we in turn provide 100% fully renovated and extremely clean rooms for these students. Tonight we learned the J1's, (172 of them) are NOT coming, period. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been spent this year again in renovations at the Alamo to guarantee them comfort, cleanliness, safety and an overall great experience. We had a company come in this year and leased the entire complex and now they too are crushed.

To top it off, while we need these J1's to employ throughout all of Ocean City, Trump just gifted everyone by expanding unemployment. This is the first time I can say that I'm very disappointed in President Trump.

Cultural Revolution: New Lenin Statue Erected as Washington, Jefferson, and More Fall

A statue of Bolshevik communist despot Vladimir Lenin has been erected in Germany– as statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and other historic figures are torn down in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the wider West.

Lenin, born Vladimir Ulyanov, was the inaugural leader of what later became the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), or Soviet Union, after his Bolshevik faction failed to win a democratic majority in the All-Russian Constituent Assembly but came out on top in the brutal civil war which they plunged the Russian Empire into in 1917.

Don Lemon denies even knowing bartender suing him

Don Lemon has denied even knowing a bartender who is suing him for an incident where the CNN anchor allegedly grabbed his own genitals and tried to make the man smell his fingers, according to court papers obtained by DailyMail.com.

The 54-year-old was hit with a lawsuit from Hamptons bartender Dustin Hice, 39, last August, claiming Lemon assaulted him at Murf’s Backstreet Tavern in Sag Harbor in July of 2018.

Hice, who is seeking damages to be determined at trial, claimed in court papers that Lemon stuffed his hand down the front of his own shorts, vigorously rubbed his genitals, removed his hand and then shoved his fingers under Hice's nose.

The bartender claims the high-profile news anchor proceeded to ask him, 'do you like p***y or d**k?', while 'shoving his fingers into Hice's face with aggression and hostility'.

Lemon officially responded to the suit earlier this month, denying the allegations and saying Hice is a 'complete stranger' to him, according to papers filed to New York's Eastern District court.

Lemon's legal team sent a letter to Judge Steven Locke asking for Hice's claims of negligent infliction of emotional distress to be dismissed, explaining the two parties had come to an agreement. They later asked for the entire case to be thrown out.

John Kerry: Trump victory could provoke a revolution

Former Secretary of State John Kerry raised the possibility that a victory by President Trump could provoke a revolution in the United States, claiming that Republicans have a history of denying voting rights to Democratic voters.

“If people don't have adequate access to the ballot, I mean that's the stuff on which revolutions are built,” Kerry said during a virtual appearance at the Copenhagen Democracy Summit. “If you begin to deny people the capacity of your democracy to work, even the Founding Fathers wrote in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, we have an inherent right to challenge that. And I'm worried that increasingly, people are disaffected."

Kerry implied that such chicanery contributed to his defeat in 2004 and former Vice President Al Gore’s loss in 2000, maintaining that this pattern unfolded recently in Georgia — an apparent reference to Stacey Abrams’s defeat in the state’s 2018 gubernatorial race. That history, as he views it, undermines U.S. claims to Western leadership.

“We're not meeting the standard that we ought to be meeting, so I'm deeply concerned about protecting the vote,” he said.

SCOTUS-Enabled Totalitarianism

The Court's decision on "sex" opened the door for the evisceration of the women's movement.

“You can’t just proclaim yourself a female and be able to compete against women. There must be some standards, and having a penis and competing as a woman would not fit that standard.” —tennis great and long-time homosexual-rights activistMartina Navratilova, December 2018

“‘Woman’ is not an idea in a man’s head. ‘Woman’ is not a pink brain, a liking for Jimmy Choos or any of the other sexist ideas now somehow touted as progressive. Moreover, the ‘inclusive’ language that calls female people ‘menstruators’ and ‘people with vulvas’ strikes many women as dehumanising and demeaning.” —author J.K. Rowling, June 2020

Whether an increasingly impotent women’s movement realizes it or not, last Monday’s 6-3 Supreme Court ruling has made biological reality irrelevant. While anyone with an ounce of integrity would know that when Congress passed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Title VII’s prohibition of sexual discrimination meant sex in the biological sense, a majority of justices swept aside thousands of years of biological reality in favor of progressive ideology.

Two Charged in Deli Robbery/Theft

Ocean City, MD (June 22, 2020): On June 21, 2020 at approximately 10:38 p.m., officers responded to a reported theft that had just occurred at deli in the 7200 block of Coastal Hwy. The caller reporting the theft told Ocean City dispatchers the suspects had fled the area.

Through investigation, officers learned that a couple tried to return cigars that were not purchased at the store. When the store clerk refused, Kenisha A. Ward, 37, of Baltimore, MD went behind the counter, assaulted the store clerk and started grabbing cigar packets. Devon L. Jones, 32, of Randallstown, MD made threatening statements to the clerk as Ward was grabbing the cigar packets. The suspects left the store and got into a vehicle. The store clerk followed the suspects out of the store with a baseball bat, eventually breaking the suspects’ car window.

A short time later, while officers were on scene investigating this incident, the suspects returned to the store. The suspects confronted the store clerk about the broken car window. Officers placed both of the suspects under arrest.

Ward and Jones has been charged with robbery, theft less than $100, and second-degree assault. Ward and Jones have both seen a Maryland District Court Commissioner and each of them have been held without bond.

Backlash surges against Democrat control of cities

'These are the same people who fought to keep slavery in'

Amid the swirling sea of media coverage of the Black Lives Matter protests taking place all over the country, a few against-the-tide moments have garnered attention. These range from distraught African American women lamenting the looting of their neighborhood stores to young black activists dressing down white vandals dressed in the hooded garb of the antifa movement.

Some, more overtly partisan, commentary has taken direct aim at the prevailing wisdom that the modern Democratic Party is the only choice for minority voters. First, a video rocketed around social media earlier this week showing an African American female street preacher in Seattle’s CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) explaining to a white woman (presumably a liberal Democrat) why she would never vote for Joe Biden.

TRENDING: Trump's Tulsa rally prompts civil-emergency declaration

"You want to see a bunch of black people go to jail by the next four years? Put Joe Biden in there. Watch what happens. You want to see black men get killed substantially, like you’ve never seen before? Put Joe Biden in there. Watch what happens. These Democrats, and I’m sorry to say this and I’m not trying to be racist, but they hate black people. These are the same people who fought to keep slavery in. These are the same people who built the KKK. The Republican Party is the party of the blacks."

MRC's Brent Bozell Rejects 'Hate-Filled' Amazon Money

Reston, VA -- MRC President L. Brent Bozell on Monday announced that the Media Research Center would no longer accept money from the AmazonSmile program. Amazon has brushed off conservative concerns about letting an anti-Christian organization like SPLC decide which groups may receive funds. Additionally, Amazon recently tried to censor a book because it didn’t toe the party line on the coronavirus lockdowns.

“Any money from Amazon is tainted, hate-filled money that we want nothing to do with,” said MRC President L. Brent Bozell. “The liberal-loving Jeff Bezos and his hacks at Amazon and Washington Post oppose everything we stand for at the MRC. While we thank supporters who have used the program, we ask that they continue their donations directly, instead of through Amazon’s filter of hate,” added Bozell.

CBS’s Pauley Gushes for Cuomo: He's ‘Having a Moment’ and Single!

Effectively downplaying his fumbled response to the coronavirus outbreak in his state, and ignoring the bipartisan calls from state legislatures to investigate why he put infected patients in nursing homes, CBS Sunday Morning host Jane Pauley spent her segment gushes about Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Not only was she dismissive of his critics, but she also appeared to flirt with him while discussing how he was an eligible, sought after bachelor, and pushed him on running for president in 2024.

Though she admitted that New York had a “staggering death toll of 25,000” coronavirus deaths, the most of any state in the country, Pauley proclaimed “Today, Andrew Cuomo is having a moment.”

At one point in her piece, Pauley (via voiceover) recalled how “Cuomo was married for 15 years to Kerry Kennedy, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy. And until last year, was in a long relationship with author and TV chef Sandra Lee, but he is unattached now.”

In the follow-up clip of their sit-down conversation, Pauley giggled as she playfully teased Cuomo about being single with so much to offer a woman:

PAULEY: You are a bachelor, you've got a nice house here, having a moment, and you can't do a thing with it. Is your social life in a phase one relationship, possibly? Is that an unfortunate set of circumstances?

[Laughter]

CUOMO: Well, I think --

PAULEY: I know you're a bachelor. I know. I know you've talked about being available.

CUOMO: Yeah. The house isn't mine, sort of like a rental. I will move out one day. I can reopen the economy, but dating, that's a whole different thing beyond my control.

PAULEY: Pity, isn't it?

'Dirty Tricks' Sabotage Trump Tulsa Rally

Tik-Tok and K-Pop users are claiming they reserved hundreds of tickets for Donald Trump’s Tulsa rally, never having any intention of showing up. The result was a half-empty arena in Tulsa for the president’s post-coronavirus restart of his campaign.

In fact, Twitter is alight this morning with reports that dozens of teens reserved thousands of rally tickets to sabotage the optics of Trump’s speech.

Trending on Twitter this morning is #EveryoneLaughingAtYouDonald and #TrumpRallyFail.

'Stunning': Barr scorches media for 'bovine silence' on collapsed Russiagate narrative

Closest to 'organized effort to push a president out of office' since Lincoln assassination

Attorney General William Barr hit the establishment media in an interview aired Sunday for what he called its “bovine silence” regarding the debunked narrative of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.

In an interview on “Fox Sunday Futures,” Barr also asserted that the various government investigations into the Trump campaign’s possible ties to Kremlin were the “closest we have come to an organized effort to push a president out of office” since the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Barr has long questioned the FBI’s decision to open a counterintelligence investigation against the Trump campaign in July 2016. He appointed John Durham, the U.S. attorney for Connecticut, to conduct a review of the investigation and other surveillance conducted against Trump campaign associates.

NEARLY HALF OF AMERICANS CONSIDER SELLING HOME AS COVID CRUSHES FINANCES

Economy not recovering quickly enough to offset the damage done by coronavirus shutdowns

As the virus pandemic has metastasized into an economic downturn, tens of millions of Americans have lost their jobs and are struggling to service mortgage payments.

New research offers a glimpse into struggling households, discovers out of the 2,000 American homeowners polled, over half (52%) of respondents say they’re routinely worried about making future mortgage payments and nearly half (47%) considered selling their home because of the inability to service mortgage payments.

The study, conducted by OnePoll and the National Association of Realtors, determined 81% of respondents had experienced unexpected financial stress due to the virus-induced recession. Over half (56%) reduced spending so they could service mortgage payments.

Since mid-March, or about the time when the lockdowns began, nearly half (47%) of homeowners have explored alternative ways of making money. About two-thirds of respondents (64%) started side projects, while 53% sold valuables to supplement income.

“The swift and unprecedented impact of COVID-19 left many people in a financial emergency, and we want to make sure struggling homeowners know they have relief options, especially during Homeownership Month,” said the National Association of Realtors President Vince Malta.

Roosevelt Statue To Be Removed From NYC's Museum Of Natural History

A statue of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States, will be removed from the front steps of the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio - who said in a Sunday evening statement that the museum made the request.

"As we strive to advance our institution’s, our City’s, and our country’s passionate quest for racial justice, we believe thatremoving the Statue will be a symbol of progress and of our commitment to build and sustain an inclusive and equitable Museum community and broader society," said museum President Ellen Futter of the bronze statue which has stood at the institution's Central Park West entrance since 1940.

The statue features Roosevelt on horseback with a Native American man and an African man who are standing next to the horse. In 2017, it was coated in red liquid by protesters, who called for its removal as a symbol of "patriarchy, white supremacy and settler-colonialism."
