Incident: Possession of Crack Cocaine
Date of Incident: 18 March 2009
Location: 1000 block of East Road, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Delante B. Jones, 19, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 18 March 2009 at 7:07 PM, a deputy on patrol in the 1000 block of East Road observed a male subject later identified as Delante Jones running in front of the West Road Apartments. Upon making contact with Jones, the deputy learned Jones had been involved in an altercation and observed Jones to have suffered a laceration on his arm. During the deputy’s encounter with Jones, the deputy asked Jones if Jones had any weapons in his possession at which time Jones produced a small pocket knife that was in his pocket. However, when Jones reached into his pocket, he also pulled out a baggie of what the deputy recognized as crack cocaine. The deputy seized the drugs and placed Jones under arrest.


Jones was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Jones was detained in the Detention Center by the Commissioner in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.

Date of Incident: 18 March 2009
Location: 400 block of Sarah Lane, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: Male Juvenile, 14, Salisbury, MD

Narrative: On 18 March 2009 at 9:30 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office met with a Pizza delivery driver in reference to the theft of pizza. The driver informed the deputy that he made a delivery to a residence in the 400 block of Sarah Lane and was met by a male subject in the front yard of the residence. The male subject claimed he was the one who ordered the pizza and took the pizza from the driver. The delivery driver was in the process of retrieving his change bag when the male took off running with the pizza without paying. During the investigation, the deputy determined that the pizza order originated at a residence in the 1700 block of Samuel Lane and went there to look for the pizza. Upon arrival, the deputy located a 14 YOA male juvenile in the living room eating pizza. The pizza delivery driver arrived and identified the subject there as the one who ran off without paying for the pizza.


The juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office where the deputy notified the Department of Juvenile Services of the arrest. Upon their instructions, the juvenile was released to a parent pending formal court action.
