Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

Samuel Xavier Chait, 20yoa of Fruitland, MD was arrested for Possession of Marihuana and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia. On March 17, 2009 at approximately 10:47pm, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by Chait in the area of Camden Ave and Carroll St after the officer observed a traffic violation. During the stop, the officer received permission from Chait to search the vehicle. During the search the officer located a quantity of suspected marihuana and a smoking device. Chait was arrested and transported to Central Booking.

Nathan Andrew VanDyke, 19yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Malicious Destruction of Property less than $500. On March 17, 2009 at approximately 5:47pm, officers responded to the 900 block of East Church St for a domestic argument between a father and son. On arrival, the officers met with the victim and learned that VanDyke had destroyed several items inside the residence. Officers met with VanDyke who said that he wanted to go to jail. VanDyke was arrested and transported to Central Booking.

April Denise Parker, 26yoa of Salisbury, MD and Shenene Naree Davis, 21yoa of Laurel, DE were arrested for Theft less than $100. On March 18, 2009 at approximately 1:14pm, Officers responded to the WalMart on N Salisbury Blvd for two detained shoplifters. Officers met with Loss Prevention Employees who had observed Parker and Davis hide items belonging to the store on their person. Both females did pay for other items before exiting the store. When detained outside the store the items that were observed to be hidden were located on their persons. Both females were arrested and transported to Central Booking.

Jackie Newcomb Perry, 59yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Animal Cruelty and Mutilate an Animal. On March 18, 2009 at approximately 1:42pm, Animal Control Officers from the Salisbury Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Carrolton Ave for an animal cruelty complaint. Officers met with the witness who observed Perry come onto private property and strike a canine in the head with a shovel for no apparent reason. The canine was transported to a local animal hospital where it was kept overnight due to the injuries it had received. An Arrest Warrant was obtained and served on Perry who was transported and released to the custody of Central Booking.
