Debbie Campbell Gets The Crown Of All Endorsements

Councilwoman Debbie Campbell was sporing a new brochure last night at Chef Fred's in which Sheriff Mike Lewis endorsed Mrs. Campbell as well as Chris Truitt of the SFD and tucked away inside the brochure was yet another honorable mention from the recently retired Brian Beaver from the Salisbury Police Department.

As usual, Debbie was by far the Candidate that shined the most last night, including the Mayoral Candidates. This just seems to be a natural for Mrs. Campbell. While Mr. Boda has certainly done his homework and seems to be a very nice guy, it would be foolish not to vote for Debbie and keep the checks and balances in order.

Far too many people respect Debbie for her hard work and commitment to the Citizens of Salisbury. Is she perfect, hardly not. Neither are you and I. Muir mentioned something last night about Debbie voting NO 120 times in the past 4 years. Let's break that down, shall we.

52 weeks a year, time 4 years = 208 weeks. Now, they meet every 2 weeks, so that's 104 meetings in the past 4 years, give or take. That would mean Debbie said "NO" an average of ONE time for each meeting. Hmmmmmmm, let's discuss that further.

Debbie also stated last night that not only has she NOT been able to get documents before a Council Meeting, the other Council Members had exactly what she was requesting, yet the Mayor would force her to file a Freedom of Information Act just to get her hands on those documents her co-workers already have and even attempted to CHARGE her for the process and documents. Now doesn't that just make you sick?

Debbie has voted "NO" because for the record she refuses to rubber stamp ANYTHING she is not fully informed about. Now, might this look bad on her particular record? I certainly hope so. I hope it proves that Debbie Campbell clearly has the Citizens best interest at heart and is by far the most honorable person working for the Citizens of Salisbury.

I'll tell you one thing from Joe Albero, you know that one employee you let go and have regretted every year you have been in business? You know that one co-worker you know the company you work for let go and no one has ever been able to properly replace them? That's Debbie Campbell. She's NOT desperate for your vote Folks. She has a fantastic job but if you knew Debbie Campbell like Joe Albero knows Debbie Campbell, that's the hardest working woman I have ever met in my entire life.

Look, I'm not from the Eastern Shore. I'm one of those Corporate Officers that traveled the world and met weekly with Fortune 500 Companies. I've spent time with the #1 Corporate Lawyer in the United States. I've dined at the President of Coca Cola's home. I'm tight with the former VP of Warner Brothers. I could go on and on Folks. I have been there, done that. NO, I am not at all trying to show off. I am simply telling you, I KNOW BUSINESS! I know people! You cannot find another Debbie Campbell and your certainly NOT going to get the professional experience out of Muir Boda, (an employee of WalMart) than you will from another renowned and experienced professional like you do out of Debbie Campbell.

It's that simple. You can Bubbafy Salisbury and we can be the Dukes of Hazard or you can vote for Jim Ireton and Debbie Campbell and use that experience to truly care about your City. Anything less will simply be the Dukes of Hazard.

Oh, let me close with this. Ask Gary Comegys this question. While Mr. Boda challenged Debbie Campbell on saying "NO" to 120 votes over 4 years, why did Gary vote YES to a 15% tax increase BEFORE he ever saw the Budget?????

I'll take Debbie's "NO" answers all day long Muir. She's looking out for the Citizen's best interest.

Joe,I don't live in the city limits, however since I have been following your blog sight for approx. 18 months now I must say this.Your [Blog Site] is the main reason Tilghman is not running for re-election.You,The Dirty Dozen,Campbell, and Lady K. have exposed the underhandedness from the X-members and the current remaining members of this administration.Comegys and Smith need to go also and hopefully the voters will take care of one in April.God Bless Joe and dont let the voters down.

Debbie also has been picked as Maryland's top 100 women! The current mare only dreams of that accomplishment.

There will be a building in Salisbury named after Debbie Campbell before it's over. You watch!

With all due respect to Mr. Boda, he did not "do his homework," it was done for him. The Tighlman/Dunn/Comegys machine is in overdrive to try to get Comegys and Boda elected, and they simply feed him misleading info we he dutifully parrots. So last night was a clear message--Boda is a puppet for Comegys/Tighlman. A nice enough guy, but a Louise Smith all over again. The "100 no votes" line is all we need to know to vote against this guy: uh, how many of those "no" votes were against bad policies? I guess voting "yes" is the only legitimate vote? Sheer genius. That sound you hear today is a giant backfire.

Salisbury is incredibly fortunate to have Mrs. Campbell on city council. It's hard to imagine how any council member - or any member of government for that matter- could be better informed about the issues or more dedicated to the city's welfare than she is.

I'm surprised that Mr. Boda pointed out Mrs. Campbell's "nay" votes at last night's forum. Perhaps he didn't realize that he was really pointing out one of her many strengths. To me, a no vote says, "I've taken the time to do my homework and look at ALL the implications of what's being proposed, and this proposal is not in the best of interests of the taxpayers or the city." HMMMM...could this mean that council majority rarely does ITS homework to the extent it should and just pushes through a lot of unwise things with that "yes" rubber stamp that so often used at the GOB that it's nearly worn out???

I understand that Mr. Boda also said that one has to be able to work with people (or words to that effect). To that I'd just say, "Yes,Mr. Boda, YOU try working with people who won't even give you the paperwork you're supposed to have so you can be well-informed before a work session or meeting. YOU try working with people who get annoyed with you because you see a need to further discuss and question things before you vote on them. In short, sir, just TRY to effectively do your job in the kind of climate (icy cold) in which Mrs. Campbell does hers, THEN come back in four years and tell me about working with others." Until that time, though, don't make comments in public that tend to mislead citizens about Mrs. Campbell's ability to work with others.

Sorry for the length of this post, Joe, but it "steams" me big time whenever I've heard over the years people criticize Mrs. Campbell because she "rocks the boat too much" or "takes too much of council's time to get things done."

Good government isn't about how fast we can get things done or how many times per minute we can bang that "YES" rubber stamp down. It's about doing the research, doing the homework (regardless of how much time and sweat that takes) listening to your constituency's voices, weighing all factors, and THEN saying yay or nay.

Mrs. Campbell does all those things, plus a LOT more, for Salisbury, and probably puts up with way more crap while doing it, than we'll ever know.

To the Anon. post @ 9:42 who predicts one day a building will be named after Mrs. Campbell, I say, "I sure hope you're right." We owe her that and a lot more.

Who was that fat slob at the forum last night sitting in an oversized wheel chair taking pictures of people and making rude remarks about certain candidates? I thought he was handicapped until I watched him get up and then walk over to a a decent blogger and started a confrontation with him.

That decent blogger was GA Harrison. The phony drawing disability checks is the nastiest blogger around, he's the newest flunkie being used by the Barrie/Gary campaign to smear all the good candidates and anyone they come in contact.

4:15 PM

I hpoe that's not a rumor.

I imagine he was asked to retire or be fired, he's been blogged so many times loafing and sucking the state teat without doing a lick of work. He was flatout busted and people called and e-mailed state Hiway and state delegates about Bubba's waste of space and money. Finally something gets done.

That's what Bubba gets for driving around doing nothing while his co-workers had to take up all his slack and work hard everyday. I bet they don't even fill that position due to the economy, they won't fill it because of a lack of the need for someone doing nothing.

Another puppet for the status quo, I don't think so.
