Jeannie Haddaway Visit

Joe:

Just wanted to give you an update on Delegate Haddaway's visit last night.

She was very well received among our community, particularly, her sponsorship and support for Renewable Energy Initiatives. Everyone who has been following her knows full well that she has been and is a strong proponent for implementation of Alternative Energy Inititives. She co-sponsored House Bill 377 - Solar and Geothermal Grant bills for Marylanders. She has been a strong proponent for Hydrogen Fuel Cell research. Moreover, she supported EmPOWER Maryland Energy Efficiency Act of 2008 http://mlis.state.md.us/2008rs/billfile/hb0374.htm which establishes goals to reduce Maryland's energy consumption 15% by 2015.

She supported House Bill 369 - Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays 2010 Trust Fund and Nonpoint Source Fund an important environmental protection bill.

And she also drafted legislation for Rural Broadband - House Bill 1156.

These were just a few of her highlights tonight at the standing room only audience.

Until last night I had never heard Jeannie Haddaway speak. I was most impressed with her, particularly considering her youth. She is articulate and informed. She is able to explain her positions clearly. Unfortunately, I do not live in her district; I am in District 38, represented by the "tax everything in sight" Democrats. We need more representatives like Ms. Haddaway.
