OCEAN CITY, MD – The Ocean City Police Department has
recently seen an increase in reports of a phone scam involving callers
posing as representatives of electric companies. The scammers are
reportedly targeting Ocean City area businesses by telephone claiming to
be representatives of “Delmarva Electric” and “Baltimore Gas &
Electric.” The scammers urge victims to pay balances of more than $1,000
using a Reloadit pre-paid card before the end of the day, threatening
to shut off service if the victim does not comply.
Business
owners and citizens are advised that scammers claiming to represent
“Delmarva Electric” are using the exact ring-back tone and phone menu
used by the legitimate power company – Delmarva Power. Two numbers being
used by the scammers are 844-834-2554 and 800-685-0123, however, it is
likely that additional numbers may be used.
Business owners and
citizens are reminded that legitimate power and electric companies will
never endorse or require a specific form of payment such as a pre-paid
debit card. If someone claims to represent your power company, it is
important that citizens take precautions to verify the person is
affiliated with the company by hanging up and contacting the company
directly, especially if that person is requesting an immediate payment.

The 22 Most Dangerous Jobs
Many jobs require employees to put their well-being in danger, even to the point of risking their lives when they clock in.
Aspiring police officers know that they'll be fighting crime, and firefighters are well aware that putting out fires is life-threatening. But there are some careers in which the perils are less evident.
Using data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and ONet, HealthGrove andStartClass looked at the 22 most dangerous jobs based on the fatal injury rate per 100,000 full-time workers.

George Zimmerman tries to cash in on Confederate flag debate
George Zimmerman, who has had repeated brushes with the law since he was acquitted in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, has a new weapon of choice: a paintbrush.
The neighborhood watchman, who became a household name after the shooting sparked racial riots, unveiled his artwork on Monday. No stranger to controversy, Zimmerman decided to paint a symbol that has been in the news lately: the Confederate flag.
The painting, which has been signed and numbered by Zimmerman, shows the flag with the word “The 2nd Protects Our 1st,” in reference to the first and second amendments in the U.S. constitution.
Zimmerman dedicated his latest artwork to the Florida Gun Supply owner Andy Hillinan, who banned Muslims from his shooting range last month.

PA Toughens Penalties for Stolen Valor Violations
Over the past year or so, we've brought you several alleged instances of stolen valor, in which a person is accused of impersonating a U.S. service member.
An incident at a Pennsylvania mall went viral last year, and now the state has introduced even harsher penalties.
Under the new law, the penalty for falsely claiming a veteran's designation on a driver's license will be up to one year in jail and result in up to $2,500 in fines.
About 190,000 people applied for the designation, but an audit showed that more than 350 applicants were not qualified for it.
Other alleged stolen valor cases have popped up at an airport in California, a Florida bar, and in a recent case of a man pretending to be a SEAL Team Six member.

Agenda for a Freer and More Prosperous America
There is little that happens in society in general and the market economy in particular that most on the political "left" do not think needs more government intervention, regulation and redistribution to make "better."
One recent example of this is a lengthy "report" primarily prepared by Nobel Prize-winning economist, Joseph E. Stiglitz, for the Roosevelt Institute. Released in June 2015, Stiglitz and his co-authors present an agenda for Rewriting the Rules of the American Economy: An Agenda for Growth and Shared Prosperity.
The "Progressive's" Agenda for Bigger Government
Running for 100 pages, it is based on the premise that markets are inherently likely to be unfair when left on their own without pervasive government oversight and regulation, that income inequality must be cured through various fiscal and interventionist policies, that America's economic system is persistently biased against ethnic and related minority groups and that sustainable growth and stable financial markets require more intrusive government intervention, including making "full employment" a higher priority for theFederal Reserve in setting monetary policy.
In the grab bag of policy proposals are included federal laws restoring union power to control labor markets and hold businesses hostage to their wage and benefit demands, even heavier environmental regulations on business and industry in the name of saving the planet, higher marginal tax rates on the classified "rich" and increased capital gains and dividend taxes to pay for all the things the Roosevelt Institute authors think government should be doing more of.

New hole opens in ground at site of 2013 fatal Florida sinkhole
Florida emergency responders say another sinkhole has opened in the exact location where a hole opened in March of 2013 and swallowed a man as he slept in bed.
Ronnie Rivera of Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said Wednesday morning that the hole opened up again in Seffner, which is east of Tampa. The new hole is around 20 feet in diameter.
In March 2013, Jeffrey Bush was asleep in his bedroom on the property when the floor collapsed and he fell in. His body was never recovered.

Good Men
Can a good man spend his days doing bad things and remain a good man? What if he chooses to spend his days doing bad things and could at any time elect not to do the bad things? Could decide – I am not comfortable with this; this isn’t for me – and quit, without risking anything (other than the need to find honest work)?
The German SA man of the 1930s was a very bad man – but he did, at least, have the defense of being under duress.
In 1930s Germany, it was socially (if not legally) difficult for any man to not become a willing helper of Hitler’s in some capacity – or at least, give the appearance thereof. One joined the partei – and sieg heiled along with the crowd. To not do so invited suspicion at minimum – and the very real likelihood of much worse. God help you if you publicly criticized the national socialist state or its leaders.

An Immigration Lawyer On The Truth About Birthright Citizenship
GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s immigration plan, released on Sunday, can be easily summarized in the candidate’s own four words: “They have to go.” The plan is little more than a nativist wish list, with a bold kicker: an end to so-called “birthright citizenship,” the constitutional rule that a child born in and under the jurisdiction of the U.S. is a citizen.
This position is not new. Over the years, there have been attempts by restrictionists to challenge birthright citizenship. In the 1800s, the focus was Chinese immigrants. Of late, the effort has been focused on Latino immigrants, led in Congress by Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and, more recently, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), who believe they can end this constitutional provision with legislation. Earlier this year, Vitter tried to attach an amendment to the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, which provided that a child born in the United States would be considered a citizen only if at least one parent is a citizen, is a lawful permanent resident, or has served in the military.
Now, opposing birthright citizenship may emerge as a kind of litmus test for Republicans; earlier this month, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said we should “re-examine the 14th Amendment.” But before that happens, let’s get a few facts straight.

The Seamless Web of Liberty
Many people think the Internal Revenue Service was violating civil liberties when it harassed tea party groups. After all, the groups were targeted because they wanted to exercise their civil liberty to challenge government policies. However, the specific issue in the IRS case was the groups' application for tax-exempt status, which seems to be an aspect of economic liberty. In fact, the IRS case demonstrates that there is no meaningful distinction between civil and economic liberties. A true friend of the free society defends both civil and economic liberties.
Many "civil libertarians" who oppose government laws interfering in the personal choices of consenting adults support laws preventing consenting adults from working for below the minimum wage. Other civil libertarians support government programs forcing consenting adults to purchase health insurance. Many liberals who join libertarians in opposing the NSA's warrantless wiretapping fail to protest Obamacare's assault on medical privacy. Even worse are those "First Amendment defenders" who cheer on government actions preventing religious individuals from operating their businesses in accord with the teachings of their faith.

O’Malley’s Taxes, Regs Drove Jobs Out Of Maryland, Hurt Its Poor
Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley took executives from more than 100 firms on official overseas junkets to stimulate foreign trade, but his economic policies drove businesses and residents from the Old Line State, and especially hurt its poorest regions.
O’Malley’s campaign this year has gone nowhere, but his record as governor will get much deeper scrutiny in coming days if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s public credibility continues to plummet, with a result that increasing numbers of Democrats look for more attractive alternatives for their party’s 2016 presidential nomination.
“Obviously, his economic policy has severely affected the state of Maryland,” said conservative think tank Maryland Public Policy Institute President Christopher Summers told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “It hasn’t just hung an anti-business sign on Maryland. It’s carved it in stone.”

Fed Up With FOIA
Is FOIA reform finally at the tipping point? The federal Freedom of Information Act was designed to give citizens prompt access to information about their government. Instead, it’s a bureaucratic nightmare, a vast black hole of years-long delays and heavily censored documents.
In recent weeks, a trifecta of powerful federal judges, each acting independently, has blasted the Obama Administration’s FOIA delays. It is never good to anger a federal judge. Angering three over the same issue is unprecedented.
All three judges sit on the influential U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. In Judge Richard Leon’s court, he slammed the State Department for a four year delay in responding to the Associated Press’s FOIA requests for records about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and top aides. State Department lawyers, Judge Leon complained, were answering him with “convoluted gobbledygook” about the records.
“I want to find out what’s been going on over there” at the State Department, Judge Leon said. “I should say, what’s not been going on over there.” Later, according to a report in Politico, the judge snapped when State Department lawyers indicated there would be further delays: “Have it by next week. Have it by next week when we have our hearing. Do you hear me?”
Matters also were heated at the courtroom of Judge Rudolph Contreras. In a hearing concerning a Judicial Watch lawsuit about email records from Mrs. Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, the judge warned the State Department that it will “have to answer for” any destruction of the documents.
Ordering that some records related to the Clinton Foundation be turned over by mid-August, Judge Contreras warned: “If documents are destroyed between now and August 17, the government will have to answer for that, and, you know if they don’t want to do anything out of the ordinary to preserve them between now and then, they can make that choice. I will allow them to make that choice, but they will answer for it, if something happens.”

The Russian Media Is Talking About What Is Coming In September
But the U.S. media has been strangely silent
Why does the Russian media seem to be far more on the ball than the mainstream media in the United States much of the time?
Could it be possible that Russian reporters have more freedom to talk about important issues than reporters that work for the major corporate conglomerates in the United States do? Of course the Russian media is far from perfect. They put out pro-Russian propaganda just like the U.S. media puts out pro-American propaganda. But I must admit that I often find that Russian news sources are willing to tackle controversial issues that the mainstream media in the United States would not touch with a ten foot pole. This includes the critical events that are coming up this September.
Even after everything that has been said and written in the alternative media about what is going to happen during September, most Americans are still completely ignorant about the history changing events that are going to take place next month.
First of all, the most important template for global governance that the United Nations has ever dreamed up is going to be launched at a major conference from September 25th to September 27th. The launching of this “new universal agenda” is such an important event that the Pope is going to be traveling to New York City to give the address that will kick off this conference. This new plan is known as “the 2030 Agenda“, and it is being called “Agenda 21 on steroids”. This is one of the most significant steps toward global government in the history of the world, and yet the mainstream media in the United States is saying virtually nothing about it.

EPA Hiding Data From Toxic Spill it Caused in Colorado
The Environmental Protection Agency insists it needed to take over a gold mine in Colorado. But — now that it’s caused a massive pollution spill — the agency refuses to furnish proof that it ever needed control of the mine.
Not only did the EPA coerce the mine owner to grant it access on threat of a $35,000 per day fine and then fail to take common sense precautions to check the water pressure behind the Gold King mine when it began removing debris from the portal, now the agency is hiding the data related to the before and after effects of the spill.
On Friday Breitbart News posed eight specific questions to the EPA regarding the pollutant levels and exfiltration rates at the Gold King mine and the Red and Bonita mine during the period before and after the August 5 spill into the Cement Creek and Animas River in Colorado. The agency failed to offer any response by our Monday evening story deadline.

O’Malley to rally workers at Trump hotel in Las Vegas
The former Maryland governor will hold a press conference Wednesday outside Trump’s hotel with leaders of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226, workers at the Trump hotel, and other union activists and hospitality industry workers.
The union counts a large number of Hispanic workers as members and is an influential political force in Nevada, which has a high concentration of hotel, casino and restaurant workers.
On Friday, the protesters will march from Las Vegas Boulevard to the Trump hotel “to demand equality.” The union says about 500 workers at the Trump hotel want to join it.

A Letter To The Editor: Crime Reporting App
Can you post this, curious to see what other City of Salisbury residents think about it? Maybe Jake can put this on his to do list.
What does everyone think about a crime reporting app like http://crimepush.com?
I think it would be beneficial to have a way to take a picture and report it to the SPD from my phone. There have been many times I do not know the house number to report to the SPD, it would be nice to be able take a picture with embedded GPS numbers and send it to them. Being able to sending it anonymously would be great as well.
This is something I could stand behind spending speed camera money on. (I have NO vested interest in the app)

Hillary 'Chain of Custody' May Lead To Indictments
Department of State officials refused to identify to a congressional committee the “chain of custody” – the complete list of people who had access to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation’s investigation.
The request was made last spring by the House Select Committee on Benghazi probing the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in which Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were murdered.
The chain of custody evidence is essential to determining if Clinton or people close to her violated federal laws on handling of classified materials.

Could the FDIC Seize Bank Deposits During a Crisis?
As we noted last week, one of the biggest problems for the Central Banks is actual physical cash.
The financial system is predominantly comprised of digital money. Actual physical Dollars bills and coins only amount to $1.36 trillion. This is only a little over 10% of the $10 trillion sitting in bank accounts. And it’s a tiny fraction of the $20 trillion in stocks, $38 trillion in bonds and $58 trillion in credit instruments floating around the system.
Suffice to say, if a significant percentage of people ever actually moved their money into physical cash, it could very quickly become a systemic problem.

Right-to-Work Or Not, Workers Have The Freedom To Leave Their Union
Worker freedom is on the march in this country. Indiana and Michigan became right-to-work states in 2012, and Wisconsin passed its worker freedom law earlier this year, becoming the 25th right-to-work state.
Why are right-to-work policies becoming so popular across the country?
Right-to-work states perform better economically than non-right-to-work states. Right-to-work states have higher wages than non-right-to-work states when adjusting for cost of living. And most of all, right-to-work states give workers more freedom.
Imagine that — Americans want more freedom. That may be a hard thing for Big Labor to acknowledge. After all, how will unions survive if their most effective recruiting tool, forced conscription, is taken away from them?

There is an obvious subtext to the panicked effort to purge the GOP of Donald Trump: to allow the party’s true hero to emerge to vanquish Hillary Clinton and restore peace and justice throughout the land. To most GOP elites, of course, the savior is Jeb Bush, complete with the Clark Kent glasses and aw-shucks good guy demeanor. The Chamber of Commerce crowd is so convinced that Jeb is the man that it (so far) has placed a more than $100 million bet on that proposition. There’s just one problem—the Clintons want Jeb Bush to be the GOP nominee, too.It was Trump himself who picked up on this fact when Hillary Clinton singled outBush for criticism over his remark that “I’m not sure we need a half a billion dollars for women’s health issues.” Bush later said he “misspoke.” (This is supposed to be the safe, gaffe-free candidate, right?) By going after Jeb directly, and far from the first time, the Clintons want to “elevate” him, Trump charged, because they know they can beat him. Here’s something you don’t hear, well, ever, in Washington: Donald Trump is right.

United States Drops In Overall Freedom Ranking
A new report on the freedom of countries around the world ranks the United States 20th, putting countries like Chile and the United Kingdom ahead of the U.S.
Last year, the U.S. was ranked 17th, but a steady decline of economic freedom and “rule of law” has dropped the level of freedom, according to the Cato Institute, Fraser Institute and the Swiss Liberales Institut, which created the study together.
Co-author of the report Ian Vasquez told The Daily Caller News Foundation that the steady growth of government and increased regulations of business and labor contribute to the U.S. low rating.

Fiorina: Raising Minimum Wage Hurts Those It Claims to Help
Carly Fiorina said Monday that raising the the minimum wage would mean less opportunity for those workers most in need.
At the Des Moines Register-sponsored "soapbox"at the Iowa State Fair, the former Hewlett–Packard CEO said she thought the decision should be left to individual states – not the federal government.
"Why? Because it makes no sense to say that the minimum wage in New York City is the same as the minimum wage in Mason City, Iowa," she said at the event, skipping a big speech to go right into a question-and-answer session with the crowd, the National Journal reports.
"We have to remember that a lot of minimum-wage jobs are jobs where people start, and in those jobs they learn skills to move forward," she added. "So we need to be honest about the consequences of raising a minimum wage too high. One of the consequences is that young people who are trapped in poor neighborhoods will have less opportunities to learn skills and move forward."
Real job growth is created by letting smaller businesses thrive, she added, and forcing smaller businesses to pay higher wages would drive them out of the market.
"Every time we destroy a small business or we destroy a community bank, we are destroying the opportunity for someone to get that first job, learn skills, and get a better job."

IGs Ask Congress to Help After DOJ Restricts Access to Info
Watchdogs assigned to root out fraud and corruption inside federal government agencies encounter so many barriers during their investigations that they’re calling on Congress to pass legislation that will guarantee the access they’re already supposed to have.
The cry comes on the heels of a new Justice Department restriction on information that its inspector general (IG) can access during agency probes. Remember that President Obama promised to run the most transparent administration in history yet the Department of Justice (DOJ), an extension of the executive office, is limiting what its watchdog can see during what’s supposed to be an independent investigation. This goes contrary to a 1978 law requiring that inspectors general act autonomously when they conduct probes of the federal agencies they’re assigned to keep in check.
This is hardly the case. In fact, Judicial Watch has reported for years about the obstacles that inspectors general have faced as they do their job to crack down on waste, fraud and corruption in government. There are 73 IGs and, although they report to Congress, each is appointed by the president. For years current and former employees at IG offices have alleged that the watchdogs work too closely with the leaders of the agencies they investigate and that many have succumbed to political pressure, in both Republican and Democrat administrations.
In fact, a few years ago a number of IGs came under fire and faced retaliation and scrutiny after exposing wrongdoing at the agencies they were charged with investigating. This led Congress to contemplate legislation to protect the watchdogs by, among other things, requiring the president to notify Congress 30 days before firing an inspector general to guard against terminations for political reasons. As is often the case in Washington, no action was taken to solve the matter so the problem persists.
Now IGs are calling on Congress to do its job and help. In a letter to lawmakers this month, the Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency, which represents the nation’s IGs, asks that legislation be passed to guarantee their independence when conducting probes at federal agencies.

Investigation: Collusion Between Terrorists and Mexican Cartels is a Threat to U.S.
Lead investigator says Obama administration has a responsibility to stop it
Muslim terrorists are using Mexican drug cartels to infiltrate the U.S. southern border to plan attacks on the United States from within, according to Sun City Cell, a documentary produced in collaboration between Judicial Watch and TheBlaze TV.
“Mexican drug cartels are smuggling foreigners from countries with terrorist links into a small Texas rural town near El Paso and they’re using remote farm roads—rather than interstates—to elude the Border Patrol and other law enforcement barriers,” states Judicial Watch. “Our nation’s unsecured border with Mexico is an existential threat to our nation.”
Chris Farrell, the director of research and investigations at Judicial Watch, says the cartel’s ability to completely control the El Paso region paved the way for a sophisticated narcoterrorism partnership.
“If you want to move something from point A to point B, a contraband item, you need their assistance, there’s a price tag with it, its all about making money,” he says. “There’s a tremendous amount of public corruption. There are cartels and those criminal enterprises do billions and billions of dollars worth of elicit business. Their corruption runs deep and it runs high and so there are people that are afraid frankly for this story to come out.”

Terrific: Hillary Clinton's Server Carrying Classified Information Was Run Out of a Bathroom Closet
Good news, America. The woman who wants to be the President of the United States hired an email server company to host her own personal server, on which she sent and received top secret classified information, out of a bathroom closet. You just can't make this stuff up. Daily Mail has the exclusive:
The IT company Hilary Clinton chose to maintain her private email account was run from a loft apartment and its servers were housed in the bathroom closet, Daily Mail Online can reveal.More
Daily Mail Online tracked down ex-employees of Platte River Networks in Denver, Colorado, who revealed the outfit's strong links to the Democrat party but expressed shock that the 2016 presidential candidate chose the small private company for such a sensitive job.
One, Tera Dadiotis, called it 'a mom and pop shop' which was an excellent place to work, but hardly seemed likely to be used to secure state secrets. And Tom Welch, who helped found the company, confirmed the servers were in a bathroom closet.
It can also be disclosed that the small number of employees who were aware of the Clinton contract were told to keep it secret.
The way in which Clinton came to contract a company described as a 'mom and pop' operation remains unclear.
However Daily Mail Online has established a series of connections between the firm and the Democrat party.
All Nuke Inspectors Require Approval From Iran’s Intelligence Agency
A senior Iranian official declared on Monday that international nuclear inspectors would only be permitted into the country once they receive approval from the Islamic Republic’s Intelligence Ministry, putting another roadblock between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran’s contested nuclear sites.
Sayyed Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s deputy foreign minister and one of the top negotiators in talks that led to the recently inked nuclear deal, told the country’s state-controlled press that Iran’s intelligence apparatus must approve of any inspector who is issued a visa to enter Iran.
This requirement could complicate efforts to prove to the world that Iran is being fully transparent and that nuclear inspectors inside the country are neutral.
Iran has already stated that no American inspector would be permitted into the country under the deal. The accord also grants Iran a 24-day notice period before inspectors enter any site suspected of being used for nuclear weapons work.
“Any individual, out of IAEA’s Inspection group, who is not approved by the Islamic Republic of Iran cannot enter the country as the agency’s inspector,” Araqchi was quoted as telling the Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency (ICANA), a government news outlet, according to a translation performed by the CIA’s Open Source Center (OSC).

State Dept. Confirms Clinton Aides Had Other Unreported Email Accounts
Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s top aides, used personal email accounts to conduct government business in addition to a State Department email and an account on the controversial server Mrs. Clinton kept at her New York home, the State Department confirmed to a federal court Friday.
The State Department admitted to the judge that it doesn’t have control over those documents, and can’t be sure it has all of the records from their time in the administration.
John F. Hackett, the top open-records official at the department, said they have officially concluded that Ms. Abedin and Ms. Mills “used personal email accounts located on commercial servers at times for government business.” Ms. Abedin, meanwhile, had an account at clintonemail.com, the domain tied to the Clinton home server.
Mr. Hackett also said he has no way of knowing what else might be out there, and has to trust the two women and their lawyers to turn over what they have.

Gowdy: 'You're Going to Stay There Until All of the Questions Are Asked and Answered'
(CNSNews) - Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi on October 22, and "the ground rules are simple," Committee Chair Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) told "Fox News Sunday" with Chris Wallace:
"You're going to stay there until all of the questions are asked and answered with respect to Benghazi and Libya, and part of that is ensuring that the public record is whole and complete, which means we necessarily have to discuss your unusual e-mail practices, but we're going to stay there until all of the questions -- if she's going to insist, Chris, that she's only coming once, I'm going to insist that once be fully constructed, which means she's going to be there for a while."
Gowdy said his committee is "going to follow the facts wherever they go, and if that impacts people's perception of her fitness to be commander-in-chief, so be it. I can just tell you this, for the first three public hearings, I never mentioned her name."
Gowdy said he's interested only in "doing a good job for those four murdered Americans and their families. The classified information, the rest of it, is in other people's jurisdiction and I'm content with that."

Police make multiple arrests for nitrous oxide distribution
Large amounts of cash, nitrous oxide tanks and vehicles also seized
Howard County Police have arrested 12 suspects for nitrous oxide possession and distribution at and around a Phish concert at Merriweather Post Pavilion over the weekend. Large amounts of cash, 32 nitrous oxide tanks and two vehicles were also seized as part of the investigation.

Allison, Curet, Priest and Ruiz have posted bond. The remaining suspects are currently being held at the Howard County Detention Center on bond varying from $5,000-10,000.
Police: Ohio mom says she killed 3 young sons in 13 months
BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio — A woman calmly called 911 to report her baby son wasn't breathing on Tuesday and then hours later confessed to killing him and her two other young sons over the past several months, police said.
Brittany Pilkington was charged with three counts of murder and was jailed Tuesday, said police in Bellefontaine, about 60 miles northwest of Columbus.
Pilkington, who's 23 years old, is accused in Tuesday's death of 3-month-old Noah Pilkington and in the deaths of 4-year-old Gavin Pilkington, who died in April, and 3-month-old Niall Pilkington, who died in July 2014. No working telephone number for her home could be found, and no attorney information was available for her.
Police said officers went to the family's apartment on Tuesday morning after an emergency call from the mother saying that Noah wasn't breathing. They said she calmly answered a dispatcher's questions while the baby's sleep apnea alarm beeped in the background. The baby was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The Salisbury/Wicomico Republican Club Proves Once Again To Be RINO's
When you have a club that is loaded with people who's best friends are leaders in the Democrat Club, it becomes very clear who the RINO's are.
When I ran for Mayor, they never once invited me to discuss my platform and stand before the voters and answer direct and blunt questions, yet they invited Debbie Campbell, (a democrat) to come in and speak.
So here we are again with yet another election for Mayor and not one person from the republican party stepped forward to run for Mayor. It proves just how methodical they are, quietly hiding as a republican when in fact they are nothing but moles for the democrats.
How many years does it take for citizens to realize they need to get rid of the people running that show and replace them with true republicans? I feel for the "worker bees" who are there for the right reason. Get rid of the RINO's and start fresh. They have proven to FAIL the citizens of the County and City time and time again.

Lawyers for Boston Marathon bomber want new trial elsewhere
BOSTON – Lawyers for Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) say his trial should have been held outside the city because jurors couldn't avoid widespread outrage over the deadly attack and he deserves a new trial elsewhere.
A filing by the lawyers on Monday explains their push for a new trial for Tsarnaev, who was sentenced to death.
The filing says even on social media jurors would have seen friends and relatives posting about the 2013 bombing.

The TV Segment That Lays Bare Everything That's Wrong with Corporate Media Today
Softballs for Amazon's PR rep, superficial questions, and a former WH press secretary: this segment has it all.
The New York Times published a somewhat scathing survey of Amazon's corporate culture Sunday that quickly went viral -- becoming the Times' most shared story over the past 36 hours. The piece, written by Jodi Kantor and David Streitfeld, dug deep into Amazon's hyper-competitive culture and highlighted its more abusive and dehumanizing extremes. Some of the worst offenses being a lack of paternity leave, people sobbing at their desk, a "snitch" app that lets employees anonymously tattle on their colleagues, and a culture that one former HR director called “purposeful Darwinism.”
But worry not, CBS News is here to the rescue. After reading a press release by Amazon, the three CBS This Morning hosts had on New York Times journalist Jodi Kantor to defend her article. Ms. Kantor, for her part, would go out of her way to show that the piece also gave the company praise and that many people she interviewed seemed to genuinely enjoy the cut-throat environment and that her primary line of critique was the decidedly lukewarm idea that Amazon was fundamentally great but had simply "gone a bit too far". Never mind, our CBS hosts wanted to get to the bottom of it.
"This is a tough article on Amazon", Charlie Rose insisted with great concern. "In part, how did it come about?"
After giving a detailed back story and what motivated her to write the piece, Rose's co-host Gayle King asked again, unsatisfied.
"So, how did this story come about?", She prodded. Clearly, there had to have been some other force at work here. The interview went on for another three minutes before the hosts handed the floor over to Amazon PR flack and former White House press secretary Jay Carney. The questions for him, far less skeptical -- at one point letting him talk uninterrupted for a whole minute-and-a-half.

I Didn't Buy Anything New For 200 Days (And You Shouldn't Either)
When you stop buying stuff, you might very well find that you have quite enough.
The story of my 200-day Buy-Nothing-New challenge doesn’t start with an object or a possession. It starts with my dad, many months ago.
My father had been living with me as he went through chemotherapy treatments. He was fighting a melanoma which had spread. It was a stressful time, but it was bittersweet. Thinking of these times quickly brings tears of simultaneous sadness and gratitude to my eyes.
After months, my father was declared palliative and passed away less than a month later.
I’d never experienced the loss of someone I truly loved. Everything I’d heard about death and dying suddenly became a real and tangible experience. Like the sense of losing a piece of yourself. The despair at being helpless. Having people all around you but feeling so very lonely.

I’d never experienced the loss of someone I truly loved. Everything I’d heard about death and dying suddenly became a real and tangible experience. Like the sense of losing a piece of yourself. The despair at being helpless. Having people all around you but feeling so very lonely.

It Ain’t Over Yet: Bird Flu Aftershocks Will Keep Egg, Whole Turkey Prices High
Though the bird flu crisis might be over now, the toll it’s taken on egg and poultry producers in the U.S. will continue for quite some time. Industry experts say egg prices will climb higher than previously predicted, and stay high through 2016. Meanwhile, frozen wholesale turkeys will also cost more this Thanksgiving than last year.
After 48 million chickens and turkeys were destroyed this year during the avian flu outbreak, limited supplies of baby poultry and not enough space to house them could make it tough for farmers to rebuild their poultry populations, reports Reuters.
Egg prices are going to tick up higher than experts thought, according to estimates from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and could stay high into 2016, while frozen turkeys will likely cost 19% more than they did last year for Thanksgiving.
It’s been two months since the last case of flu was reported, but poultry producers say it could take two years or so of rebuilding to get their flocks back to where they used to be.

Publishers Notes: 48 million chickens is NOTHING! This is a scam and I believe everyone knows it. Yesterday in Walmart, a total of 36 eggs was almost $9.00. Americans will fall for just about anything any more and you'll do nothing to fix it.
Sam’s Club Wants To Shed Its Walmart-Like Persona
Oftentimes, children of successful, well-known parents struggle to get out from their elder’s shadow. Such is the case for warehouse retailer Sam’s Club, which announced its desire this week to break away from its parent company Walmart.
The company announced a new strategy over the weekend that aims to differentiate the shopping experience at Sam’s Club from that of Walmart, the Wall Street Journal reports.
“We want to be less of a Walmart,” Sam’s Club chief executive Rosalind Brewer said before unveiling the updated strategy that includes increasing online sales and adding ancillary services like tax preparations.
Under the new plan, Sam’s Club stores will begin catering to households that make more than $45,000 per year, by carrying more organic food, brand-name clothing and higher-end household products like 1,000-count Egyptian sheets.

App Called RoboKiller Takes Top Prize In FTC’s Anti-Robocall Contest
The Federal Trade Commission’s vendetta against robocalls continued today as the agency announced the winner of a contest – and $25,000 – for building an app that blocks and forwards the annoying calls.
An app called RoboKiller was crowned victor in the FTC’s Robocall: Humanity Strikes Back contest that aimed to find the best way to forward the prerecorded messages to a honeypot – an information system used by government, private and academic partners to lure and analyze robocalls.
RoboKiller, which was the brainchild of Ethan Garr and Bryan Moyles, relies on universally available call forwarding that works on both landline and mobile phones, and uses audio-fingerprint technology to identify robocalls.

Dr. Ben Carson Says ‘Stop Listening to These People Who Tell Us That We Cannot Talk About God’
Doctor Ben Carson, one of the few non-politicians running for the GOP nomination for president this time out (Carly Fiorina being the other) is sick to death of people in the media scoffing at and scolding people for talking about God and he is urging us all to ignore those people.
Carson is out there making a firm case for including religious topics in politics.
“We have to stop listening to these people who tell us that we cannot talk about God, we cannot talk about our faith,” the retired neurosurgeon said.
“I wonder, do they realize that our founding document, our Declaration of Independence, talks about certain inalienable rights given to us by our Creator – aka God?” he asked.
Carson went on to note the key references to God in the pledge of allegiance, on the walls of U.S. courtrooms, and on coins and banknotes.
“So, if it’s in our founding documents, it’s in our pledge, it’s in our courts and it’s on our money, but we’re not supposed to talk about it, what in the world is that?” he said. “In medicine we call it schizophrenia, a form of craziness.”
Carson said it was time for Americans “to realize that there’s nothing wrong with living by godly principles – of loving your fellow man, caring about your neighbor, developing your God-given talents to the utmost so that you become valuable to the people around you, having values and principles that govern your life.”
“And if we do that,” he concluded, “not only will we remain a pinnacle nation, but we will truly have one nation, under God.”
Carson is a good man, for sure. Would you support him for president?
