Dr. Ben Carson Says ‘Stop Listening to These People Who Tell Us That We Cannot Talk About God’

Doctor Ben Carson, one of the few non-politicians running for the GOP nomination for president this time out (Carly Fiorina being the other) is sick to death of people in the media scoffing at and scolding people for talking about God and he is urging us all to ignore those people.

Carson is out there making a firm case for including religious topics in politics.

“We have to stop listening to these people who tell us that we cannot talk about God, we cannot talk about our faith,” the retired neurosurgeon said.

“I wonder, do they realize that our founding document, our Declaration of Independence, talks about certain inalienable rights given to us by our Creator – aka God?” he asked.

Carson went on to note the key references to God in the pledge of allegiance, on the walls of U.S. courtrooms, and on coins and banknotes.

“So, if it’s in our founding documents, it’s in our pledge, it’s in our courts and it’s on our money, but we’re not supposed to talk about it, what in the world is that?” he said. “In medicine we call it schizophrenia, a form of craziness.”

Carson said it was time for Americans “to realize that there’s nothing wrong with living by godly principles – of loving your fellow man, caring about your neighbor, developing your God-given talents to the utmost so that you become valuable to the people around you, having values and principles that govern your life.”

“And if we do that,” he concluded, “not only will we remain a pinnacle nation, but we will truly have one nation, under God.”

Carson is a good man, for sure. Would you support him for president?

  2. So Ben and Carly are the only "non-politicians" running for the GOP nomination? Mr. Trump not even mentioned?

  3. yes. There are none of the other candidates who come from such humble beginnings and are as much of a success story. God bless his willingness to witness to the world.

  5. If Trump should win the nomination, I think Carson would be an excellent VP choice. Just in case the Donald offends the wrong person and...

  6. I think Ben Carson is just what we need to get our youth back on track today. His story alone is an inspiration but his belief that we need to develop our God-given talents to be of help to ourselves and others is the total opposite of what we have now in office putting everyone on welfare and having them live off the system instead of giving back. We need his philosophy to pull this country back up by the bootstraps into something we can be proud of again.

  7. Joe, what do you think of a trump and carson ticket? I really like the idea of it. Seems to cover all of the gaps that America has right now.

  9. Dr. Carson continues to impress!

Remember, he talked Truth to Power at the prayer breakfast while Obama was on the dais!

  11. He strikes me as being a humble man who has strong personal convictions. I admire this.

The problem with the bipartisan system, is that candidates are not selected on whether they are the best choice to lead this country, but rather, whether they are willing to adopt the party's line by line agenda. Whether they are willing to sell out, turn away from their own beliefs and convictions, in exchange for power.

I am not so sure Dr. Carson will do this. I don't think he'll bend much, if any, to step into the pre-set agenda he'll be expected to follow.

Unlike Obama, who flip-flopped on anything he had to, in order to get into power. He'll say and do anything he has to, just to follow his masters in the Democratic Party...and those behind the scenes.

Donald Trump is a wildcard, for sure. He is already an extremely wealthy and powerful man, and no longer has the "need" to cater to anyone for what he wants. In fact, I'd go so far as to say, he isn't going to do it, period, and if the Republican Party wants him for their candidate, they will be the ones having to re-think their agenda and adapt, not him. In my opinion, this is exactly what needs to happen. A candidate should not be "created" by a party, told what their position on the issues will be, and marketed to those most likely to buy into it.

This is the "change" we need in our leadership. Not necessarily Mr. Trump, per se, but the shift of the power from the party, to the people, by having the opportunity to vote for someone who is not "pre-packaged". Someone who represents the interests and will of the people.

    I'm hoping to see a Trump/Carson ticket.
