BOSTON – Lawyers for Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv) say his trial should have been held outside the city because jurors couldn't avoid widespread outrage over the deadly attack and he deserves a new trial elsewhere.
A filing by the lawyers on Monday explains their push for a new trial for Tsarnaev, who was sentenced to death.
The filing says even on social media jurors would have seen friends and relatives posting about the 2013 bombing.

I wonder under which rock they would like to have that hearing?
ReplyDeleteIn most countries he would have already been put to death.
ReplyDeleteWould it be cruel and unusual punishment if murderers were put to death by the very same method that they used to commit their crime, taking the life of another?
ReplyDeleteIn this case, by exploding pressure cooker at a distance of a few yards. If the first explosion doesn't kill, then it's done again until the sentence is carried out.
Would it be more of a deterrent? Would it be more just?
Gas him ASAP!
ReplyDeleteThey should have requested a move BEFORE the first trial, not after. They don't allow the government to retry you until they get the verdict they want. Double Jeopardy goes both ways. Good luck with your 30 years worth of appeals.
ReplyDelete8:25 AM's comment is interesting. Convicted killers executed by beating, clubbing, stabbing, shooting, poisoning (both fast and slow), strangling, etc. What could be more appropriate?
ReplyDeleteAre the lawyers for the defense and the followers paying for a second trial--NO DON'T THINK SO. Tax payers shouldn't have to pay.
