Holy Smokes! Graphic Content

I guess I knew this, but never saw it in such graphic form.

Did Obama Spy On Mitt Romney?

Did Obama spy on Mitt Romney? As recently as a few weeks ago if anyone had asked me that question I would have consigned them to a right (or left) wing loony bin. Today, the only loonies are those who think the question unreasonable. Indeed, in one sense the answer is clearly yes. Do I think Obama ordered the NSA to spy on Romney for political gain? No. Some people claim that President Obama didn’t even know about the full extent of NSA spying. Indeed, I imagine that President Obama was almost as surprised as the rest of us when he first discovered that we live in a mass surveillance state in which billions of emails, phone calls, facebook metadata and other data are being collected.

The answer is yes, however, if we mean did the NSA spy on political candidates like Mitt Romney. Did Mitt Romney ever speak with Angela Merkel, whose phone the NSA bugged, or any one of the dozens of her advisers that the NSA was also bugging? Did Romney exchange emails with Mexican President Felipe Calderon? Were any of Romney’s emails, photos, texts or other metadata hoovered up by the NSA’s break-in to the Google and Yahoo communications links? Almost certainly the answer is yes.

WATCH THE PASSIONATE ASHTON KUTCHER RANT ON THE ONLY JOB THAT COULD EVER BE ‘BENEATH YOU’ – YOU’LL BE GLAD YOU DID

“There’s an entitlement that is starting to emerge that I think is unhealthy for people and unhealthy for our country.”

No, that line wasn’t spoken by a politician. It was uttered by none other than actor Ashton Kutcher.

Kutcher sat down with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday to chat about the incredibly viral speech about hard work and dedication that he delivered at the Teen Choice Awards in August. And in explaining his past comments, he delivered a new set that could spread just as fast.

BILLY GRAHAM’S POWERFUL FINAL SERMON TO AMERICA: ‘I’VE WEPT’ AS ‘I’VE SEEN HOW FAR PEOPLE HAVE WANDERED FROM GOD’

Evangelist Billy Graham delivered what is being dubbed his final “sermon” to America on Thursday night. Through a special video broadcast called “My Hope America,” Graham warned that the nation is in “great need of a spiritual awakening” and that he has wept over how far the nation has moved away from God.

The video, which is available online and through select broadcast networks across the nation (it will air on TheBlaze TV this weekend), was released today on Graham’s 95th birthday.

“I want to tell people about the meaning of the cross … the real cross of Christ,” a passionate Graham proclaimed in the video. ”I know that many will react to this message, but it is the truth and with all my heart, I want to leave you with the truth.”

The Feminization Of The National Football League

Only in the 2013 version of today’s NFL can a 6’5 300 pound grown man be considered a victim of bullying. What Richie Incognito did was certainly not appropriate but it was also ridiculous of the league to suspend him. Using the N-word and jokingly threatening a player’s mother is definitely in bad taste but does it warrant removing a player’s right to make a living? Jonathan Martin could have solved this problem the way most 300 pound lineman would have; by giving Incognito a taste of his own medicine. He could have lit him up in practice or popped him in the nose to let him know he wasn’t playing. These are grown men not 8 year old school children?

So what’s next is Richie Incognito supposed to make a public apology? Maybe tell the team and the media he will seek counseling and sensitivity training? Give me a break and more importantly, give Mr. Incognito a break as well.

The NFL over the past 10 years or so has really changed. The players are a lot bigger, taller, and physically stronger than they have ever been. There are linebackers now that can run as fast as receivers and quarterbacks that are faster than the fastest running backs. The game of professional football is changing.

Poll Finds Strong Support For Minimum Wage Hike; State Employees Pensions Considered Too Low

A new poll found strong public support for increasing Maryland’s minimum wage to $10 an hour, a step being pushed for the upcoming General Assembly session.

The poll by Goucher College also found the majority of the Maryland public regards current pensions for retired state employees as too low, and also thinks all Maryland workers, not just those employed by the state or local governments, should have a pension.

Assessing the name recognition of politicians, the Goucher poll found that U.S. Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, a Baltimore County Democrat who is considering a run for governor, had significant name recognition throughout the state, only exceeded by Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and Attorney General Doug Gansler, who have been on the statewide ballot twice.

Gold: Hold It Or Fold It?

It’s starting to feel like we are part of a giant poker game against the US government, whose hand is the true condition of the American economy. The government has become so good at bluffing that most people feel compelled to watch how the biggest players in the game react to determine their own investment strategy.

Unfortunately, this past month revealed that even pros like Goldman Sachs have no idea what sort of hand Washington is really hiding.

A week into the government shutdown, Jeffrey Currie, head of commodities research at Goldman Sachs, declared that gold would be a “slam dunk sell” if Washington resolved the budget debate and raised the debt ceiling. The call was based on an underlying narrative that the US economy is experiencing a slow, but inevitable, recovery.

Panel Wants Hospitals To Hold Costs At Current Levels

Maryland's Health Services Cost Review Commission is recommending that hospitals hold the line on costs for patient care.

The decision this week would apply to the first six months of 2014.

A formal vote on the plan is set for early next month.

The state panel that sets hospital rates gave most hospitals permission for a 1.65 percent increase in the current fiscal year.

There would be no increase from January through June.

Many Marylanders Still Optimistic About Health Care Reform, Poll Finds

Almost half of Marylanders still think the new health care law will have a positive impact on the quality of health care in Maryland, a new Goucher poll found. But only half of those surveyed said they had heard of the website MarylandHealthConnection.gov, the state’s access portal for health insurance.

The respondents also believed the insurance companies were the most prepared to handle the implementation of the health insurance reform and the federal government was the least prepared.

The poll was conducted by the Sarah T. Hughes Field Politics Center at Goucher College in Towson Oct. 27-31, contacting 665 Maryland residents by land line and cell phone. It has a margin of error of 3.8%. Unlike other public polls released to the media, such as the Gonzales Research poll, the Goucher center surveys residents regardless of whether they are registered or likely voters.

Editorial: Who's Ready For College?

Fewer students than you might think
Illinois rolled out its new, information-chocked school report card recently and provided an easy-to-understand figure of how many Illinois high school graduates are ready to go to college.

Brace yourself: It's only 46 percent.

That, the state says, pegs how students have a reasonable chance at college success, based on their ACT scores. You don't need to have nailed a perfect 36 on the ACT to know that means a little more than half of high school grads aren't ready to do college-level work.

Brace yourself again: Even that may be optimistic.

By the ACT's own calculations, only one-fourth of Illinois students are prepared for college. At almost every high school across Illinois, the state's college readiness figures are higher than the ACT's, according to an analysis by Tribune reporters Diane Rado and Alex Richards.

The IRS sent a total of 655 tax refunds to a single address in Lithuania, and 343 refunds went to a lone address in Shanghai.

In the U.S., more fraudulent returns went to Miami than any other city. Other top destinations were Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta and Houston.

Obama’s Tour Of Lies

President Barack Obama is a liar. Not a person who “misspoke,” as the New York Times editorial board ridiculously asserted last Sunday. His promise that if Americans liked their healthcare plan they could keep it — made on at least 23 separate, videotaped occasions — was not the ”half true” statement the equally corrupt politifact.com website contended it was. Nor did the president make a ”campaign pledge which did not hold up to the realities of governing,” as shameless TV host Bill Maher declared, before further noting it was a “moral complexity” he is “okay with ’cause I’m not twelve.” It was a bald-faced lie. And on at least one occasion in June of 2009, it included a completely unambiguous qualifier: “if you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan, period.” (Italics mine). Yet Monday, in an Orwellian moment that provided the public with an unprecedented look at the president’s utter lack of credibility, Obama insisted he never made any such promises.

“What we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed,” Obama declared at the St. Regis hotel, in a room containing around 200 of his staunchest Organizing for Action (OFA) supporters. He then went on defending the indefensible. “If we had allowed these old plans [to continue]… then we would have broken an even more important promise–making sure that Americans gain access to health care that doesn’t leave them one illness away from financial ruin,” he remarked. “So the bottom line is, is that we are making the insurance market better for everybody.”

New Mexico Cops Give Woman Vaginal Search Without A Warrant

Just after we heard the story of two men who were anally searched for drugs multiple times, we now find out that a woman was vaginally assaulted by the police and otherwise abused and it’s even worse than the previous two cases as the police didn’t even bother getting a search warrant. The woman is now suing for sexual assault. It’s important to note that none of the three had any drugs whatsoever.

Laura Schauer Ives, a lawyer with ACLU, says she is preparing to sue the US Border Control for a sexual assault on a New Mexico woman who was stopped crossing over from Mexico into New Mexico. Schauer Ives calls the search, sexual assault, and notes that the police had no warrant when they took her client to the hospital. No drugs were found on the woman. Schauer Ives said:

“It’s terrifying. I think law enforcement has been emboldened, particularly where it comes to drug interdiction. It’s kind of anything goes. You couple that with drug interdiction at the border and you have a recipe for serious civil liberties violations.”

Obama's EPA "Browning Out" US Energy Future

In the modern world, where energy flows, commerce and prosperity follows. The economic and industrial greatness behind the United States is built on the back of an infrastructure that makes massive amounts of energy accessible and affordable. Coal is a indispensible pillar of that infrastructure.

Since becoming an economic powerhouse, the United States has consistently relied upon coal as an abundant, reliable source of energy. According to the Institute for Energy Research, coal-burning power plants make up 37 percent of all electric energy generation in the United States. There is enough naturally-resting coal in the United States to power the nation for over 500 years at current energy consumption rates. America’s coal resources more than double the amount of natural coal found in the world’s second-largest repository nation, Russia. Coal offers the U.S. a great strategic advantage in the international marketplace.

Claim: 'Unions May Get Health Law Tax Relief

It looks like labor unions might be getting tax relief from Obamacare, according to a report from kaiserhealthnews.org.

The Next Big Obamacare Scandal

President Barack Obama is doubling down on his Obamacare lies. He is now trying to erase retroactively his point-blank assurance to the American people that “if you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan, period.” Drawing on his golfing experience, he is insisting on a mulligan as millions of Americans are losing the health insurance policies they have chosen because of Obamacare mandates.

“What we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was passed,” he told Obamacare’s political beneficiaries and contractors this past Monday during a speech they applauded enthusiastically. The “if” clause never appeared in his public statements before now.

SEVEN DEVASTATING OBAMACARE FACTS

The Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare, has taken a toll on President Barack Obama's standing in the polls. The latest Gallup poll now shows Obama's approval rating at just 39%.

Here are seven Obamacare facts dragging down the president's approval rating:

1. Obamacare will cost taxpayers $1.8 to $2.6 trillion over the next 10 years. Over the next decade, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates Obamacare will cost American taxpayers $1.798 trillion. The Republican Senate Budget Committee says CBO's numbers rely on overly optimistic economic assumptions and puts the true cost at$2.6 trillion.

O'Malley Voicing Support For Minimum Wage Boost

Governor Martin O'Malley on Thursday urged supporters of raising the minimum wage in Maryland to sign a petition.

The Democratic governor wrote in an email from his political action committee that he believes the state must make the choice to raise the minimum wage, which is currently $7.25 an hour.

"This is going to be a long and difficult effort, and I need to know that you're with me from the beginning," O'Malley wrote.

O'Malley does not specify in the email how much he believes the minimum wage should be raised. Nina Smith, O'Malley's spokeswoman, said details are still being worked out.

This One Chart Shows You Who’s Really In Control

Check out this chart below. It’s a graph of total US tax revenue as a percentage of the money supply, since 1900.

For example, in 1928, at the peak of the Roaring 20s, US money supply (M2) was $46.4 billion. That same year, the US government took in $3.9 billion in tax revenue.

So in 1928, tax revenue was 8.4% of the money supply.

In contrast, at the height of World War II in 1944, US tax revenue had increased to $42.4 billion. But money supply had also grown substantially, to $106.8 billion.

So in 1944, tax revenue was 39.74% of money supply.

Billboards That Scan Your Features And Figure Out Your Age And Gender Are Not At All Creepy

Shoppers at discount store Tesco in the U.K. might get the unnerving feeling that someone is watching them. Something is. The chain is using sophisticated software to identify customers and beam ads at them. No, not by name: by demographic.
The software from a British company called Amscan can scan a person’s appearance and tell whether they’re a 50-year-old woman or a 20-year-old man. It does this based on visual cues that are proprietary and highly creepy.

Scammer Charged With Renting Out Home She Didn’t Own Six Times In A Few Weeks

While we don’t condone scamming in any form, we’ve written enough about inept scammers over the years to pick up a few tips on how to avoid being caught so easily. For example, if you’re going to try to swindle people out of thousands of dollars in bogus rental deposits, don’t get greedy and try to hoodwink six different tenants in just a matter of a few weeks.
There’s a woman in Blue Springs, MO, who probably wishes she’d thought of that before she was arrested and charged with six counts of stealing by deceit.

Maryland Middle School Requires Children To Cross Dress For “LGBTQ Appreciation Day”

Parents in the town of St. Leonard, MD were aghast after learning what the staff at Heritage Middle School required children to do for a passing grade. The outrage stems from an event held this past Monday, a day which the school had dubbed “LGBTQ Appreciation Day” instructing children to experience the homosexual lifestyle for a single school day or receive a failing grade.

Students were assigned the different roles throughout LGBTQ culture. Boys were given the task of being masculine homosexuals, feminine homosexuals, cross dressers and a wide variety of other gay archetypes. The young ladies were selected to be lip stick lesbians, or butch lesbians.

The students were partnered with members of the same sex and they were then made to role-played a day in the life of a gay couple. Holding hands, hugging and other innocent displays of affection were both encouraged and rewarded as extra credit by school officials.

This controversial event was the brainchild of school principle Caren Shandel. Caren is a longtime activist for gay rights and also holds the title of first openly transgendered school principle in the Nation. I spoke with Caren about her decision to hold LGBTQ Appreciation Day and she told me the following.

Democrats Now See Why Tea Party Wants To Delay Obamacare

What a difference a few weeks make.

When congressional conservatives and Tea Party Patriots fought to delay Obamacare’s individual mandate during the debate over the partial government shutdown, Democrats engaged in some of the most incendiary name-calling Americans have heard in years. Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California called opponents “arsonists.” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called them “anarchists.” Other Democrats resorted to more colorful language, like “political terrorism,” and said their political foes were “guilty of murder.”

That was then. Fast-forward to November and suddenly Democrats are advocating the conservative position. “Allowing extra time for consumers is critically important so they have the opportunity to become familiar with the [Obamacare] website, survey their options and enroll,” wrote New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in a letter to President Barack Obama, calling for a delay in the individual mandate.

Colorado's Defeat Of Income Tax Hike Victory For Tea Party

Colorado's mercurial political nature was on full display Tuesday, with voters overwhelmingly approving taxes on marijuana sales but rejecting an income tax hike for schools.

The results suggest the state is in play for both political parties preparing for bigger races next year.

Democrats pushing a $1 billion income tax increase to overhaul the state's funding system for schools were dealt a resounding defeat, with about two-thirds of voters rejecting the proposal widely championed by the liberal establishment. Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper, who's running for re-election in 2014, threw his political weight behind the education measure.

"What's going to come up immediately is the talk of the next year's governor's race," said Norman Provizer, a professor of political science at Metropolitan State University of Denver. "And whenever you're behind an initiative that fails, everybody starts thinking you're vulnerable."

Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Tancredo used the proposal's defeat to attack Hickenlooper.

"The voters of Colorado are once again rejecting John Hickenlooper's agenda," the former congressman said.

State Presents Case Against Resort Beach Brawl Suspects

OCEAN CITY — Trials began this week for four suspects arrested following a melee on the beach at North Division Street in July with testimony heard from several of the state’s witnesses, but the proceedings were continued until January when the defense will present its witnesses.

The four suspects in the July incident, including three men and one woman, who was nine months pregnant at the time and needed an emergency C-section following the near riot, appeared in District Court on Wednesday for the first day of their trials.

Throughout the day on Wednesday, prosecutors presented the testimony of several witnesses in support of the state’s case. However, in a somewhat unusual break from typical proceedings, the trials for the four defendants were stayed until January at which time the various defense attorneys will present their witnesses.

A Grandfather And His Badly-Behaved Grandson

A woman in a supermarket is following a grandfather and his badly-behaved grandson. He has his hands full with the child screaming for sweets, biscuits, all sorts of things. The grandad is saying in a controlled voice: "Easy, William, we won't be long . . . easy boy." Another outburst and she hears the grandad calmly say : "It's okay William. Just a couple more minutes and we'll be out of here. Hang in there, boy." At the checkout the little horror is throwing items out of the trolley. Grandad says again in a controlled voice : "William, William, relax buddy, don't get upset. We'll be home in five minutes, stay cool William." Very impressed, she goes outside to where the grandfather is loading his groceries and the boy into the car. She says : "It's none of my business, but you were amazing in there. I don't know how you did it. That whole time you kept your composure, and no matter how loud and disruptive he got, you just calmly kept saying things would be okay. William is very lucky to have you as his grandad." "Thanks," says the grandpa. "But I am William. The little brat's name is Kevin." .

Baywater Animal Rescue Completes Successful Charette Workshop For The Design Of Proposed Adoption Center

(Cambridge, MD) -- Baywater Animal Rescue, the Mid-Shore’s premiere No Kill animal rescue and adoption agency, led a Charrette Design Workshop November 2nd to gain input from the community on the design of a revolutionary pet adoption/community center in Cambridge, Maryland.

Baywater’s Board President, Jerilyn Gibbs, opened the workshop stating that “Baywater’s plan is simple: bring people and pets together in every way possible, so that everyone benefits.” Executive Director Suzette Stitely outlined the need for a new facility.

The workshop was designed by Cambridge City Planner Anne Roane and architect Sarah Abel of Eastern Shore Land Conservancy. Presenters included architects Jay Orr of ARQ Architects in Baltimore and Alex Gilliam founder of Public Workshop in Philadelphia. Representative Jeannie Haddaway gave the keynote address, followed by Senator Richard Colburn and Representative Addie Eckardt who voiced support of the project.

Graduate students from the University of Maryland, led by Dr. Victoria Chanse, developed concept statements for the facility based on the morning breakout groups. The afternoon breakout groups focused on design of the adoption center, as well as indoor and outdoor spaces for community use.

“We want to thank everyone who volunteered their time and talents to make this a very successful workshop,” Gibbs said. “The ideas gathered here will be critical to this project going forward.” The next step will be to incorporate the workshop’s results into concept drawings and use these creative concepts to help form Phase II, the assessment and development of Baywater’s capital fundraising campaign. For information on Baywater Animal Rescue and to learn about opportunities for joining the organization’s volunteer leadership, contact Jerilyn Gibbs at 410-901-1368 or visit their website www.baywateranimalrescue.org.

Slowing Growth Clouds Jobs Outlook

The Labor Department on Friday is expected to report the economy added 120,000 jobs in October, below the 148,000 recorded in September and the trend for months prior.

Unemployment should remain about 7.2 percent.

The government shutdown and uncertainty about its precise impact on the data cloud Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates and forecasters' projections. However, a slowing economy is having a more significant, damaging effect on the jobs outlook.

OF COURSE Obamacare Exchanges Will Be Manipulated

The Big Boys Manipulate EVERY Market … While Would Obamacare Be Any Different?

The following exchanges are being widely manipulated by big banks, hedge funds and other players:
Currency
Interest rates
Oil (and see this)
Energy
Gold and silver
Derivatives
Carbon (i.e. “cap and trade”)
Virtually all other commodities
Basically all exchanges

Why do you think Obamacare will be different?

The leverage which huge pots of cash, insider information and high-frequency trading give to the big banks and other big players makes exchanges an easy target.

The big boys play dirty.

And the Obama administration is allegedly exempting the Obamacare exchanges from anti-fraud standards

As the New York Times notes:
Billions could flow from Washington to Wall Street, indeed.

WHICH MAJOR NEWSPAPER IS COMPARING OBAMA TO NIXON?

The Star-Ledger, the largest newspaper in New Jersey, endorsed President Barack Obama for re-election last October. A little more than a year later, the paper’s editorial board has drawn parallels with Obama and Richard Nixon.

Specifically, the newspaper cited his widely disputed statements on Obamacare, the National Security Agency’s spying on foreign allies, and on dealing with Syria’s chemical weapons, and asked, “What’s the public to believe?”

In the editorial, which carried the headline, “Obama’s Growing Credibility Gap,” the board wrote: “It’s more than not just an old wives’ tale that a politician is only as good as his word. It’s mostly true.”

End Of Daylight Savings Time The Start Of Deadliest Season For Pedestrians

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Daylight Savings Time ended recently, making this the most dangerous time of year for pedestrians. Shorter days and an hour less of daylight during evening commutes means reduced visibility, which typically leads to an increase in crashes involving pedestrians, as well as cyclists, during the darker autumn months.
Last year, in November and December there were more than 400 crashes involving pedestrians in the D.C. metro area. In 2012, 3,369 crashes in the Washington region resulted in 69 pedestrian and 3 bicyclist fatalities. These deaths accounted for 26.7 percent of the 270 traffic fatalities in the Washington region.

Are You Kidding Me?

They're working harder because YOU keep raising taxes and fees. Come on now, is this guy out of his mind. Are LIBERALS going to continue to push idiotic messages like this one punishing small businesses to PAY MORE because O'Malley keeps spending like a mad man. Has he forgotten he raised most of the tolls in Maryland.

Governor O'Malley sent me this image. It did NOT come from someone trying to make a joke. Has he forgotten about his own Rain Tax. Septic Fees.

I, (for one) am selling off my Maryland properties as I have had enough. Maryland has to be one of the worst states to invest into, second only to New Jersey.

Delaware is BOOMING. Between brand new residential developments, commercial developments are popping up like there's no tomorrow as well. Nevertheless, messages like this simply DUMB DOWN AMERICANS and IF you happen to support and believe what Governor O'Malley is saying you are a fool.

Obama and O'Malley and O'Ireton want you to believe this will resolve America's economic problems and grow the middle class. No it won't. It will bankrupt America. Obama has already destroyed the FULL TIME job, unless you work for the government, that is. Businesses are being forced to make everyone go part time and the ONLY reason for this is to LOWER unemployment because Obama doesn't want to be known as the President who lost so many jobs.

WAKE UP AMERICA AND TAKE YOUR COUNTRY BACK!

Delaware Spends $4 Million On Obamacare Enrollment, Signs Up Four People

The state of Delaware spent $4 million in federal grant money on Obamacare enrollment and has only signed up four people in the last month– effectively costing taxpayers $1 million per enrollee.

Alyssa Canobbio at Americans for Tax Reform writes:
Delaware has finally released its Obamacare enrollment number: Four.

Yes, a grand total of four state residents have fully enrolled in Obamacare. The cost to American taxpayers: $1 million per enrollee.

The state spent $4 million in federal grant money on four community organizations. Two of the community organizations have yet to have a single successful enrollment. The state blames the glitchy website and delays in background checks for the marketplace guides.
