ANN COULTER IN TWEET: ‘I HIGHLY APPROVE OF ROMNEY’S DECISION TO BE KIND & GENTLE TO THE RETARD’
Conservative commentator and author Ann Coulter is known for her edgy proclamations and oft-times controversial take on the issues. Last night, while commenting about the final presidential debate, Coulter took to Twitter, where she seemingly used a less-than-complimentary word to describe either debate moderator Bob Schieffer or President Barack Obama — “retard.”
The pundit tweeted, ”I highly approve of Romney’s decision to be kind and gentle to the retard.” While she didn’t explicitly name the individual being targeted, based on the factors at play, one can only assume that it was either Obama or Schieffer.
As of Tuesday morning, the social media message had been re-tweeted (shared) 2,506 times and it was selected as a favorite message by 1,018 people.

Hey
Check out the Daily times today - Illegal guns.
If you do have that permit, you’re allowed to drive from home to work with a firearm in your car, just as long as the weapon is unloaded, and the ammunition is separated from the gun. wrong !!!!
For instance, should a police officer find a gun — either a handgun or a long gun — somewhere in a car during a traffic stop, “that’s a crime right there,” he said, unless that person has a permit from the state to carry the gun. Wrong !!!!!!! Long guns can be carried if cased and unloaded for legal purposes (Hunting, target shooting, etc)
VERY misleading !!!!!!
Yes -get the thugs off the streets and get the facts right !
President Obama Engages In Unnecessary Attack On U.S. Navy
In last night’s debate, Governor Romney accurately pointed out that our Navy now has fewer ships than it has since 1916. President Obama incorrectly implied that Governor Romney was not aware of what a modern military force looks like. In his response, President Obama stated that, “You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916 well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets.”
“When I was commissioned in the U.S. Navy in 1988 we had 565 ships - and today we are down to 287,” said Rep. Andy Harris. “As a retired naval officer, President Obama’s denigration of the U.S. Navy by comparing warships to horses is offensive. It is clear that as China rapidly develops a blue water navy, President Obama’s lack of foreign policy leadership has placed Americans in a position of weakness – an always dangerous position. With our enemies looking for any sign that American resolve is faltering, to suggest that the world is safer today than in 1988 demonstrates an extremely naive worldview that places all Americans at risk. We can no longer afford President Obama’s failed foreign policies and economic ideas that keep us from affording the Navy we need to compete in the modern world.”
In addition to not understanding the role of the Navy, it seems that the President does not understand what weapons our military actually uses. As Chuck Todd of MSNBC pointed out today, “a quick search of the Marine Corps website shows bayonets among the weapons actively used in combat.”
Donald Trump’s ‘Very Big’ Announcement
The “very big” announcement that Donald Trump promised is … an offer to donate $5 million to charity if President Obama releases his college records and applications, along with his passport records and applications. Deadline: Oct. 31 at 5 p.m.
Trump calls it “a deal that I don’t believe he can refuse.” So if this announcement disappointed you, take heart in the fact that the real estate magnate appears to be headed for an unfortunate shock.
Asked about the reality TV mogul’s offer, Obama campaign strategist David Plouffe told a Washington Post reporter: “Direct those questions to Boston, because Trump is Mitt Romney’s biggest supporter, so he owns everything he says.”
Bernanke Probably Won't Stand For Third Term At Fed
U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has told close friends he probably will not stand for a third term at the central bank even if President Barack Obama wins the Nov. 6 election, the New York Times reported.
Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has already said he would not re-nominate Bernanke if he wins the presidency. Bernanke's term as chairman ends in January 2014.
Bernanke, who was first appointed to run the U.S. central bank by former president George W. Bush and was given a second term by Obama, has declined to comment publicly on whether he would accept another four-year term.
"I am very focused on my work, I don't have any decision or any information to give you on my personal plans," he told a news conference last month after the Fed announced a new and open-ended round of bond buying to support the U.S. economy.
The Fed and the White House declined to comment.
Barnes & Noble Reports Breach of U.S. Customer Credit Card Data
U.S. retail firm Barnes & Noble said customers who have shopped as recently as last month at any of its 63 stores in the country may have their credit card information stolen, and has informed federal law enforcement authorities about the breach.
The company said in a statement it has disconnected all PIN pads from its stores nationwide by close of business Sept 14. upon detecting tampering of those devices.
As a precautionary measure, the company said customers and employees who have swiped their cards at any of the stores with affected PIN pads should change the PIN numbers on their debit cards and review their statements for any unauthorized transactions.
IS DONALD TRUMP’S ‘BIG OBAMA ANNOUNCEMENT’ BARACK AND MICHELLE’S DIVORCE PAPERS?
Donald Trump’s “very big” announcement about President Barack Obama may involve never-before-seen divorce papers of the president and his wife Michelle Obama, according to Douglas Kass, a respected investor and financial pundit with ties to Trump.
Kass alleges the real estate tycoon “will claim the documents show the First Lady and the President were at one point in their two decades of marriage seriously considering splitting up,”The Daily Mail reports.
What information may actually be included in the divorce papers that may or may not exist, such as reason for divorce, is a mystery.
State-Local Tax Burdens Higher on Individuals Living in Blue States
Workers in New York pay the highest in local and state taxes, while workers in Alaska pay the least, according to data released by the Tax Foundation today. In its report on “State and Local Tax Burdens as a Percentage of State Income” for fiscal year 2010, the Tax Foundation estimated “the combined state and local tax burden shouldered by the residents of each of the fifty states” and ranked them.
The top 10 states with the highest tax burdens as a percentage of state income are as follows:

Voter Tells Biden He's A 'Good Guy' But Bad VP
TOLEDO, Ohio — Vice President Joe Biden got an earful from a voter during an unscripted moment at Schmucker's Restaurant here in Ohio.
Making an unexpected stop after a campaign rally, Biden stopped in the diner — known for Grandma's Swiss steak and chicken over biscuits — to chat with patrons.
One voter — who told Biden, "Joe, you're a good guy" — confessed to reporters that he still wasn't a fan of the Obama administration or the vice president .

Police: Burned La. Woman Sharmeka Moffitt Made Up Racist Attack Story
WINNSBORO, La. - State police say a 20-year woman suffering from extensive burns apparently made up a story about being set on fire by three men wearing white hoodies who wrote the initials KKK and a racial slur on her car. Instead, authorities said Tuesday she burned herself and then fabricated the story about being attacked.
On Sunday at 8 p.m. Sharmeka Moffitt called 911 from a walking trail in Winnsboro and told authorities she had been doused in flammable liquid by three men wearing hoodies. She suffered extensive burns on more than half her body and was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport for treatment.
SOCIAL WORKER BANS RELIGIOUS CONVERSATION
A social worker has taken the idea of “qualifying” for federal benefits to a new level by telling a resident of a HUD-subsidized building that she no longer had the right to free speech because of the government’s contributions to the building’s operations.
The attack on religious freedom came in a Minneapolis suburb, where Ruth Sweats told WND that she was told she has “no freedom of speech.”
Sweats told WND that she and a friend were sitting in a corner of the common area at the Osborne Apartments in Spring Lake Park, Minn., when she says the building social worker, Rachelle Henkle, “dramatically approached her with a raised voice” and said, “You can’t talk like that here!”
‘TREASON’ AND POSSIBLE ‘PRISON’: BECK BREAKS DOWN OBAMA’S ‘LYING’ ON LIBYA IN FIERY SEGMENT
Glenn Beck took to his radio show Wednesday morning for a fiery denouncement of the administration’s handling of the crisis in Libya.
“This president is lying to you about Benghazi in such [a] spectacular fashion that I believe people will go to prison. This is impeachable. The president might go to prison for this one,” he said. “What’s happening in Benghazi is so far beyond lying, it is staggering.”
While politicians are known for twisting words into half truths, Beck added that has never seen an administration persist in such a boldfaced lie when American lives are at stake, or seen a media so content to let it slide.
Grownups In Costumes: Why Have Adults Co-opted Halloween?
American adults now spend significantly more money on their own Halloween costumes than on their children’s. In fact, this year’s holiday is projected to ring up a recession-proof eight billion dollars in spending, only 13 percent of which actually goes to kids’ costumes (1.1 billion dollars) compared to the 17.5 percent (1.4 billion dollars) adults spend on their own dracula capes and french maid getups, in addition to the food, alcohol, and holiday décor. And let’s not leave the family dog out of the festivities. We spent $370 million dollars on pet costumes in 2011.

State GOP Files Complaint Against Obama Campaigners At CSU
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) – Early voting only got under way on Monday and already a complaint has been filed.
Colorado Republicans say Democrats wrongly offered Colorado State University students free pizza and T-shirts in exchange for voting.
Colorado state law says campaigners have to be 100 feet from a polling place, but there is some grey area, particularly when a polling place is inside a large public building like CSU’s Lory Student Center.
In A Rush To Mature: Study Finds Boys Hitting Puberty Earlier Than Ever
Puberty usually hits boys later than girls, at an average age of 11. But according to new research published in the journal Pediatrics, U.S. boys are now experiencing the first signs of sexual maturation — genital growth, testicular enlargement, and the appearance of pubic hair — roughly 6 months to 2 years earlier than boys at similar ages just a few decades ago.
Pediatricians now find that the earliest stage of male puberty occurs, on average, at age of 10.14 years among non-Hispanic whites, at 10.4 years among Hispanics, and at just 9.14 years among African Americans.
“All parents need to know whether their sons are maturing within the contemporary age range, but, until now, this has not been known for U.S. boys,” pediatrics researcher and study author Richard Wasserman said in a statement.

Study: Congressional Staffers Believe They Work Longer Hours
Congressional staffers believe they work longer hours than their counterparts in the private sector, according to a new survey set to be released Wednesday.
In a study of more than 1,400 House and Senate employees, 56 percent said they think they work more than people who hold similar job responsibilities outside government.
The findings about Capitol Hill staffers come at a time when public polls show Americans hold Congress in lower esteem than at any time in American history.
Driving The Economy Since 1980
Debt. There isn't a day that passes as of late that the issue of debt doesn't arise. Federal debt and consumer debt (including mortgages) are of the most concern due to its impact on the domestic economy. Debt is, by its very nature, a cancer on economic growth. As debt levels rise it consumes more capital by diverting it from productive investments into debt service. As debt levels spread through the system it consumes greater amounts of capital until it eventually kills the host. The chart below shows the rise of credit market debt and its impact on both personal savings and economic growth.

What Is Your Opinion On This Song?
This video was released on October 7th and already has over 1.5 million views. All the comments rave about this singer. What am I missing?
What You Can't Say
Jon Hubbard, a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, has a book, titled Letters to the Editor: Confessions of a Frustrated Conservative. Among its statements for which Hubbard has been criticized and disavowed by the Republican Party is, "The institution of slavery that the black race has long believed to be an abomination upon its people may actually have been a blessing in disguise. The blacks who could endure those conditions and circumstances would someday be rewarded with citizenship in the greatest nation ever established upon the face of the Earth."
Hubbard's observation reminded me of my 1972 job interview at the University of Massachusetts. During a reception, one of the Marxist professors asked me what I thought about the relationship between capitalism and slavery. My response was that slavery has existed everywhere in the world, under every political and economic system, and was by no means unique to capitalism or the United States. Perturbed by my response, he asked me what my feelings were about the enslavement of my ancestors. I answered that slavery is a despicable violation of human rights but that the enslavement of my ancestors is history, and one of the immutable facts of history is that nothing can be done to change it.
The matter could have been left there, but I volunteered that today's American blacks have benefited enormously from the horrible suffering of our ancestors. Why? I said the standard of living and personal liberty of black Americans are better than what blacks living anywhere in Africa have. I then asked the professor what it was that explained how tens of millions of blacks came to be born in the U.S. instead of Africa. He wouldn't answer, but an answer other than slavery would have been sheer idiocy. I attempted to assuage the professor's and his colleagues' shock by explaining to them that to morally condemn a practice such as slavery does not require one to also deny its effects.

Steroid Injection Update
The Food and Drug Administration is making public a list of all doctors and clinics who received steroid injection products from New England Compounding Center. Some of the injections were found to be contaminated with a meningitis-causing fungus that has killed 23 people. The information is available by state and by customer name. It lists specific products shipped, shipping date and quantities. The FDA cautions, the information was provided by New England Compounding itself. So the agency isn't guaranteeing its accuracy or completeness.
O’Malley’s Brother Backs GOP Senate Candidate
BALTIMORE (AP) — A newspaper is reporting that Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley’s brother, Patrick, is apparently going against the governor on two election points.
The Baltimore Sun reports that Patrick O’Malley is backing Republican Senate candidate Dan Bongino. The Sun also reports that Patrick O’Malley has signed a petition to put the state’s same-sex marriage law on the ballot.
Patrick O’Malley, who is a registered Democrat, declined to comment to the newspaper at his Baltimore home, where he reportedly has placed two “Bongino for Senate” signs on his lawn.
Ships Caught Illegally Dumping Waste Must Work To Clean Chesapeake Watershed
Crime may not always pay but sometimes it can pay back—and it’s benefitting the Chesapeake Bay watershed.Alex DeMetrick reports ships that illegally dump waste at sea and get caught are helping to clean water in Maryland.
A lot of effort, time and expense goes into cleaning Maryland’s waterways. Now some of that funding is coming from way off Maryland’s coastline when ships get caught illegally dumping waste oil overboard, rather than disposing of it in port, where it costs money.
“So there’s an incentive for ships to dump this waste oil at sea,” said US Attorney for Maryland Rod Rosenstein.
Hillary's Sinking Ship
Two and a half weeks ago I wrote a column for Fox News Opinion calling on Hillary Clinton to quit as Secretary of State. As more information comes out about what really led to ambassador Chris Stevens’s death on September 11, we’re hearing growing murmurs demanding the same thing. It’s not a full-throated chorus yet. But yesterday’s hearings in front of the House Government Oversight Committee are encouraging others to join in.
They certainly confirm three damning facts about our Secretary of State.
First, she and her Washington minions ignored repeated direct calls for help with security in Benghazi, including from the ambassador himself, and warnings about a possible attack on the anniversary of 9/11. According to the State Department’s security chief Andrew Wood, getting “security in Benghazi was a struggle” without end.
Twice the man in charge of security for our diplomats in Libya, Greg Nordstrom, begged the State Department for more security in Benghazi after no less than 48 security “incidents” there, including two bombings.

Should Fireplaces Be Regulated?
As the winter heating season settles in, the Energy Department finds itself in a tangle with the fireplace industry, specifically, makers of fake logs that use gas to produce flames. They're inflamed at the possibility of federal regulation of their products. The Wall Street Journalreports, one company has spent $20,000 to fight DoE. At issue is whether the fireplace sets are marketed as sources of heat or simply decorative. If heat sources, they are subject to regulation. Energy said it has no immediate plans to regulate gas consumption by the devices. But it claims the authority to do so.
Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems To Shed Up To 350 Jobs
Security giant Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems is shedding up to 350 employees.
The company is calling it a "voluntary separation program," involving employees in Maryland, and several other states by early next year.
Most of the eliminations will involve managers and directors with some of the reductions impacting non-management employees as well.
Tragically
America was home to another mass shooting over the weekend.
A gunman walked into a Wisconsin hair salon on Sunday and opened fire – killing his wife and two other women, along with wounding four others before killing himself. The shooter had a history of domestic abuse charges and was recently arrested for slashing his wife's tires. This marks the second mass shooting of the year in Wisconsin – where in August a man walked into a Sikh Temple and killed 7 people including himself. Guns falling easily into the hands of the mentally disturbed is a uniquely-American problem that our politicians aren't doing nearly enough to solve.

A Premium on National Premium
National Premium beer — the more refined older brother to Natty Boh — is making its comeback on Baltimore taps Tuesday night thanks to a realtor from Easton who’s determined to return the brew, which was discontinued in 1996, to its former hometown glory.
Tim Miller, who bought the National Premium brand name and tracked down the recipe last year, is hosting a relaunch party at The Owl Bar beginning at 7 p.m. The beer will be available for $2 all night long, with the first 200 people through the door receiving a free pint glass.
When the National Brewing Company began churning out the stuff in 1936, it was marketed as Baltimore’s more upscale, full-bodied and hoppier alternative to Boh.
