Comments
I did speak with County Executive Rick Pollitt and he did tell me he was going to spend some additional time tomorrow looking at the Posts and comments on County issues, so be sure to let them know how you feel. He was excited to hear some of the new ideas I shared with him over the phone and nothing seems to be set in stone.
Anyhow, thanks for yet another great day/week. Don't forget, tomorrow brings Historical Comments by George Chevalier at 9:00 AM. There will be plenty of Posts for the day, so it won't be as slow as a typical Saturday.
If you haven't read GA Harrison's Post about the Daily Times, GO HERE and take a look at it. It's very well written and unlike the Daily Rag, it's full of facts and truth. By the way, this makes the 60th Post in ONE DAY on Salisbury News. Does the Daily Times have that many articles in one day? Well, for a small time Blog I'd say we're giving them one hell of a run for the money, (FREE).
Oh, I also heard each and every comment on the Daily Rag was removed on the Campbell story. ROTFLMAO! Thanks for showing them that TWO can play that same game of removing comments. If JT, LC, MD, GC, BT, AW, JR & others want to play that game, well, we'll just make the Daily Times On Line worthless.
MIKULSKI, CARDIN ANNOUNCE $50,000 FOR PRINCESS ANNE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Barbara A. Mikulski and Benjamin L. Cardin (both D-Md.) announced today that the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company has been awarded a $50,000 USDA Rural Development grant to replace old, worn emergency equipment with safer, up-to-date gear that will provide a greater level of protection for volunteer firemen and first responders.
“I know how important this funding is to Maryland communities – often it’s the difference between life and death. If you are willing to put your life on the line every day, you should never feel short-changed by your government,” Senator Mikulski said. “I am proud to fight for federal investments like this one which will enable the brave men and women at the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company to have the equipment they need when they need it. Maryland’s first responders can count on me to provide federal funding for the equipment, training and services they need and deserve.”
“First responders are on the front lines every day, keeping our families and our neighborhoods safe from harm. I thank these brave men and women for their continuing service and sense of duty to our community,” said Senator Cardin. “I am proud to support federal investment in the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Co. so that it will have the equipment and resources needed to keep the community safe.”
The Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company will use the funding to purchase a brush truck, skid unit, and other firefighting equipment.
The Rural Development grant program was created to improve the economy and quality of life in rural America. The program helps support essential services and infrastructure improvements, and promotes economic development by supporting loans to businesses through banks and community-managed lending pools.
ACORN Watch: Census Bureau Cuts Ties;
It’s a start!
FNC’s Major Garrett reports on Twitter that the U.S. Census Bureau has cut all ties to ACORN, which had been named a Census data collection partner for the 2010 Census.
Census director Robert Groves, an ACORN-approved nominee, reportedly sent a letter to the racketeers today in the wake of Big Government’s videotaped stings in Baltimore and DC.
Now, on to a full investigation of the ACORN Housing Corporation, CSI, CCI, Project Vote and the Obama campaign.
No more taxpayer funding for this corrupt racket.
Cut ‘em all off NOW.
Repeat after me: ACORN is a criminal enterprise.
House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) today applauded U.S. Census Bureau Director Robert Groves’ decision to terminate its partnership with ACORN in conducting the 2010 Census: “ACORN had no business working on the Census. ACORN’s partisan election efforts and its involvement in criminal conduct rightly disqualified it from working on the non-partisan mission of the Census to accurately and honestly count the U.S. population,” said Rep. Issa. “Had ACORN been allowed to submit fraudulent information to the Census, it could have changed the boundaries of Congressional districts and altered Federal funding decisions to states and local communities. I applaud Census Bureau Director Robert Groves for making this independent decision following mounting evidence of wrongdoing by ACORN.”
Here’s the PDF of the Census Director’s letter to ACORN’s Maude Hurd.
Takeaway quotes from letter: “Over the last several months, through ongoing communication with our regional offices, it is clear that ACORN’s affiliation with 2010 Census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has ineed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 Census efforts. While not decisive factors in this decision, recent events concerning several local offices of ACORN have added to the worsening negative perceptions of ACORN and its affiliation with our partnership efforts.”
Bottom line: “We no longer have confidence that our national partnership agreement is being effectively managed through your offices.”

State's Attorney Considers Prosecuting ACORN Video Posters
The activist group ACORN has fired two employees of its Baltimore office who were seen on hidden-camera video giving advice to a man posing as a pimp and a woman posing as a prostitute.
Fox News broadcast excerpts Thursday from the video. The man and woman ask about buying a house and how to account on tax forms for the woman's income. An ACORN employee advises the woman to list her occupation as "performance artist."
Maryland ACORN board member Margaret Williams says in a statement that the employees "did not meet ACORN's standards of professionalism."
ACORN spokeswoman Sonja Merchant-Jones told WBAL-TV that she believes the video may have been altered to make the organization look bad.
CLICK HERE TO WATCH WBAL-TV VIDEO.
The statement also says the video was an "attempt to smear ACORN" and that undercover teams attempted similar stunts in at least three other ACORN offices.
Williams said no tax returns were filed and no assistance was provided.
ACORN stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
The Baltimore city state's attorney is considering prosecuting those responsible for taping the ACORN employees on charges that they violated Maryland's wiretap laws.
The Maryland state prosecutor's office went after Linda Tripp in the 1990s on two wiretap charges. Tripp was accused of illegally taping a phone conversation with Monica Lewinski about her relationship with then-President Bill Clinton and disclosing the conversation to Newsweek. Prosecutors decided to drop the case when Lewinski's testimony was suppressed.
The video was shot by film maker James O'Keefe, who posed as a pimp who said he was going to run for Congress. The video also featured a 20 year old woman who posed as a woman named "Kenya."
The video appears both on You Tube and on the Web site of Andrew Breitbart, a columnist for the Washington Times and Drudge Report.

Daily Times Lies About TapeGate
Bias is now too passe for the folks over at the Daily Times. Making up stories out of whole cloth and openly colluding with the Barrie Comegys party, including SPD chief Allan Webster are now the rule of the day.
Historically, reporters like Laura D’Allesandro weren’t bold enough to simply make thinks up. Instead, they resorted to simply taking any quote from a Barrie Tilghman or Allan Webster and treat it as truth (even if they had proof of a lie). At least they could claim they were “just reporting the news”.
Now D’Alessandro has openly chosen sides in a war for the soul of Salisbury. She sides with the Barrie Comegys party.
Are we surprised? No. However, I am a little shocked that the Daily Times would print a manufactured story that is so easily disproven.

Date of Occurrence: Thursday September 10, 2009 6:20 p.m.
Suspect(s):
Paul L. Spencer, 43, Lincoln, DE
Gregory B. Stewart, 49, Lincoln
Resume:
State police have arrested two Lincoln men after one was shot and the other was cut after they broke into the home of a 74 old-old man.
On Thursday, 09/10/09 just after 6:20 p.m. a 74 year-old man arrived at his home located in the 19000 block of Bee Jay Lane. The homeowner found an unoccupied SUV near his driveway. The homeowner observed the side door to his home open, which he had previously secured. He walked to the front of his residence and found his front door kicked in. As the homeowner walked back to the side door he observed Spencer and Stewart.
Spencer and Stewart approached the homeowner at the side door, advised him that they were “looking to purchase a dump truck,” and attempted to make entry into his home. The 74 year old homeowner told them to leave his property. However, they continued toward him. Spencer managed to enter the threshold and grabbed a landscaping tool and threatened the homeowner. The homeowner retrieved a machete/lopper from next to the door and swung it at Spencer and struck him several times on his right forearm and hand. Both suspects continued toward the homeowner, which caused him to fire two .25 caliber rounds from a handgun. One of the bullets struck Stewart in his abdomen.
Both subjects fled the victim’s residence. A short time later, Stewart was driven to Milford Hospital where he was admitted for a gunshot wound. Spencer was located and arrested at his residence in Lincoln a short time thereafter. Stewart was listed in stable condition.
Spencer was arrested for Burglary 2nd, Conspiracy 2nd, Menacing, Criminal Mischief. He was committed to SCI. Spencer was treated for lacerations to the right arm. Warrants for the same charges are on file for Stewart
The 74 year-old homeowner was not injured.
Editors Note: That's what I'm talking about! Kudos to this property owner. You'll received the exact same welcome in this Sussex County Home as well.

Some Say Cut Local Programs & Facilities
OK, I believe some people have made a good point. Let's add to this discussion those places in which you feel the City/County can cut or close. I mean, if you're going to bring it up, let's finish it.
You can't close the WWTP but you could close the Zoo, just as an example. Come on, start spitting them out and let's see who agrees and who disagrees. Explain why certain facilities should be closed and or why they should stay open. This should get quite interesting as well.
Someone mentioned the Visitors Center. Put them all out there and see what the citizens want.
Federal Deficit Hits $1.38 Trillion In August
U.S. deficit climbs into record territory for first 11 months
WASHINGTON - The federal deficit surged higher into record territory in August, hitting $1.38 trillion with one month left in the budget year.
The soaring deficits have raised worries about the willingness of foreigners to keep purchasing Treasury debt. The Chinese, now the largest foreign owners of U.S. Treasury securities, have expressed concerns about runaway deficits. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and other administration officials have sought to address those concerns by insisting that once the recession is over and the financial system is stabilized, the administration will move forcefully to get the deficits under control.
However, Republican critics contend the administration does not have a credible plan to address future deficits. Private economists worry the country could face the grim prospect of seeing interest rates soar in future years and the dollar weaken as foreigners dump their U.S. holdings.

Jamal Dorsey, 22, Clayton, DE
Delaware State Police have arrested three men for their involvement in a home invasion that occurred outside of Smyrna.
The incident occurred just after 10 p.m. on the Wednesday when Volkert knocked on the door of a 69 year-old male. When the male victim answered the door Volkert asked the victim to help him look for his dog. The victim felt uncomfortable with the request and told Volkert that he would not help. Troopers believe the motivation for the attempted robbery was to take the victim’s medication.
President Obama’s Speech On Health Care Ignores The Facts
“He called for the effort to be bipartisan yet according to House Republican Leader Boehner, the GOP had not been invited to the White House to discuss health care since the end of April.”
“He said doctors are for the bill, yet the 14 Republican doctors in the House and Senate all oppose Obama’s plan. In addition, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons joined other medical groups in opposing the legislation.”
“He said it would cut costs and save money, yet the Director of the Congressional Budget Office said, ‘President Obama’s plan to expand health coverage to the uninsured is likely to dig the nation deeper into debt.’ Maryland families wouldn’t fare any better. An overhaul plan from Democrat Max Baucus, Chair of the Senate Finance Committee, calls for stiff penalties, up to
$3,800.00 for everyone that does not buy health insurance.”
Maryland Republican Delegate Ron George added, “Obama does not understand all the elements needed to make Health Care successful. He is all about ideas with no economic reality. Marylanders need a more patient-centered approach. Let’s bring in competition and allow the sale of insurance plans across state lines. That is the best regulator of price and service. Let’s allow employees to buy a portable plan that they can take with them no matter what job they are in.”
Let's Get Something Very Clear Here
Wicomico County has already stated that things are so bad RIGHT NOW that we will NOT feel the impact of TODAY until 2012.
OK, each and every one of you had better understand that statement VERY CLEAR. Do you understand what that means? Allow me to explain, for those of you who just don't realize how bad a pickle we're already in.
Income tax, property tax, EVERYTHING is on the decline. With the loss of jobs, with the reduction of property value, EVERYTHING will go DOWN, which means you will lose jobs, period. It means you will lose services.
I saw County Executive Pollitt on TV yesterday expressing his concern towards the loss of quality of life and services in Wicomico County as the Governor reduces funding. The Governor has already hinted there may be a $100,000,000.00 to $200,000,000.00 reduction in the budget AGAIN this year. I don't know about you Folks but I'm wondering just two things here.
Did someone or a bunch of people start winning the Lottery week after week putting the State in the hole with losses, I think not. My second thought is, if you raised the Sales Tax from 5% to 6%, where did all that money go too?
Anyhow, that's besides the point. My message in this Post is, if YOU think the County is NOT going to start laying people off in the near future, you're wrong! There's nowhere else to go. As much as it may pain people, my earlier Poll Post is vital as to who will get what and when.
I understand that many of the County Employees work during the day and do not have access to a computer during the day but believe me when I tell you, if you feel strongly one way or the other, you better get on here and voice your thoughts because I'm confident the County Executive AND Council are paying close attention to this Poll.
I just want to make it very clear to all of you, there will be job losses and there will be the loss of some services. These are harder times than our government wants you to know but let me assure you, (like I've been saying for years) put on that seat belt because the warnings are there and it's going to be a very rough ride. I will move the Poll Post to the top a little later today to make sure everyone recognizes it and says their peace.

In These Times, Seven County Council Members Are NOT Necessary
I brought this to the County Council's attention a long time ago. As soon as they voted to have a County Executive, I immediately stated, why 7 Council Members then?
While the County Executive is cutting corners, cut out TWO seats on the County Council. In fact, eliminate the At Large seats, (two). The Council is no longer a legislative body like it used to be, so having 7 members is a complete waste of time and money.
If the County removes two Members they would save quite a bit of money. $16,000.00 a year salary. Health and Life Insurance, (who knows how my that would come to, at least $10,000.00 a year each. Cell phones, fax machines, mileage reimbursement and lunches, (just off the top of my head). Multiply that times two and you save a minimum of $52,000.00 and let me assure you, it's a lot more than that.
I'd even bet that if it came to a vote, the entire Council would agree that this is reasonable. So, what do you think of that idea Folks?
BREAKING NEWS: Coast Guard Fires At Boat In Potomac
CNN is reporting that the Coast Guard has fired 10 rounds at a "suspicious vessel" in the Potomac River.
It was not immediately clear if the shots were warning shots or if they were shots directed at the boat.
A temporary restricted zone had been set up on the river due to the Pentagon 9/11 ceremony, according to CNN.
Our Health Care Will Change
Most Americans receive their healthcare plans through their employers. The employer, NOT the employee, is the one who chooses the plan. Therefore, if your employer opts for the “public option,” it will be your healthcare plan, whether you like it or not. With the job market as it is, you will have little to say about it. The question is: would your employer choose Obama’s “public option” for his employees?
Your employer will choose Obama’s “public option” if it is significantly cheaper than private health insurance. Obama has promised numerous times that his “public option” will less expensive and better than private health insurance. He can make it cheaper but he cannot make it better. Here is your problem: even if the “public option” makes the national deficit sky-rocket, Obama could make the “public option” very cheap for employers. All he has to do is subsidize it with taxpayer revenue. The other night on national television he promised not to do this. He insisted all funding for the “public option” will come from premiums paid by it members. You and I know that is ludicrous. During the first several months of the “public option,” its only members would be individuals who currently have no health insurance. Do you think, for a moment, they will be willing to pay a premium for Obama’s “public option?” If you do, you are definitely living in dreamland. Obama will have no choice but to subsidize his plan.
Is Obama likely to subsidize his “private option?” Well, let’s look at his record. With your money, Obama already has subsidized the banking industry, the auto industry and the home appliance industry. Obama even subsidized, with two billion dollars of your money, off-shore drilling by Brazil’s government-own petroleum company, Petrobros, which happens to be the world’s eighth largest global company! Why? I wonder how Al Gore and Green Peace feel about this one. Has ABC or NBC or CBS or MSNBC or CNN told you yet?
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203863204574346610120524166.html
Now, do really think, for a second, Obama would deny his own government program of tax-payer subsidies?
It is looking like you will end up with the “public option.” The only question is--how long it will take. The government option will grow as fast as the government is able to process the paperwork. Based on the efficiency of the government in handling the paperwork for Cash for Clunkers or any other program, it might be several months before you fall into Obamacare.
Once Obama has sucked the majority of Americans into his government plan, he will start to budget it, as the Europeans and Canadians do with their national healthcare programs. Obama will do this to free up more of our Gross National Product for leftist endeavors all over the world. Healthcare in America will be rationed and surgeries will be delayed, but the United Nations will be elated. They finally would have succeeded in further weakening capitalism in America. And, where is the evidence that the United Nations is campaigning against capitalism? Below is a link to a video of a speech by the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations. Take note of what he says about capitalism three minutes and forty seconds into the video. The individual is an ex-priest, defrocked by the Vatican for malfeasance in his support of liberation theology in Nicaragua.
Yes, my middle-class friends, most of you will end up in ObamaCare, which eventually will have Veterans Administration-caliber hospitals and doctors. Your wealthy friends will continue to enjoy private hospitals and private doctors.
MARK TYLER AND CHIEFY WEBSTER SHOULD BE ANSWERING QUESTIONS
Reduced to basic facts, police officer Mark Tyler claims that he gave the tape to Debbie Campbell sometime after it was made, which occurred many years before she became a member of the Salisbury City Council. Ms. Campbell categorically denies that ever occurred, but let’s assume for discussion that it did. What additional information is pertinent besides when, where and why Tyler acted as he claims?
First, did Tyler violate any law or procedure by providing the tape to Ms. Campbell, allegedly at her request, and did he advise his supervisors at that time of either her request or his action? What reports about those details were required, were they submitted and what do they say?
And now, the interesting part: why did Tyler tell the tale to Webster in early 2009, days before the City election, did he do so earlier, and, if not, why not (amnesia)?
But that’s not all folks . . . Chiefy Webster, front and center, uniform not needed, and you may stand at ease so that your perfect creases are not marred.
OK, Chiefy, why are the whereabouts of the tape and its alleged possession by Ms. Campbell – by virtue of it (allegedly) being given to her by Tyler – of such importance at this late date. And if Tyler violated any rules or laws, has he been disciplined and will he be prosecuted? Why is time being spent on this tape hunt when Salisbury has rampant crimes of violence? Did you authorize the latest statements and were they made to the reporter (or her superiors) before or after the Mayor ordered that this matter be dropped?
Inquiring minds want to know facts that the Daily Slime will never touch.
Are The Democrats & Republicans Holding Off The Inevitable?
I watched a late broadcast on the BBC News last night where they stated they felt that while Bush will be remembered for taking us to war, Obama will be remembered for a huge unemployment rate, something the Obama Administration already knows is inevitable.
While Obama continues to print money in the hopes of keeping this from becoming a reality, who's going to truly suffer, you and me, that's who. Politicians are NOT representing Americans. They're constantly protecting the reputation of Democrats or Republicans and this has to end.
We need to SAVE this Country before we LOSE IT! If it means admitting we're in a depression and hitting rock bottom, by God, let it happen before people revolt. Do we want to see friends and family members being shot in the streets because there is no trust any more or democrats who disagree with republicans. Even if something like this happens, do people realize we'd be in an even worse place than we would be if we simply admitted we're in a jam and we need to work TOGETHER to rebuild what we've lost.
I personally think it's time we ALL admit on ALL sides that many mistakes have been made. NOW is the time to rebuild and help support our future. Of course, this is just my opinion but as I grow older and wiser I can see each and every day things are getting worse and too many obvious realities are being covered up.
Make the cuts, deal with the unemployment and let's move forward, TOGETHER/UNITED.
A Little Too Late For An “I’m Sorry”
Location: Country Farms, 2136 West Newport Pike, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County
Date and Time: Thursday, September 10th, 2009 at 10:43 a.m.
Suspect(s): Vickie Gambrell, 53, of Claymont, Delaware
Resume: Yesterday morning, Troopers were called to the Country Farms on West Newport Pike for an aggravated menacing complaint.
This investigation revealed that at approximately 10:43 a.m. Vickie Gambrell entered the store and advised the clerk that she wanted $20.00 worth of gasoline and placed a $1.00 bill on the counter. The clerk told her that she had only given him a dollar and a heated argument ensued.
For the next several minutes, Gambrell stormed in and out of the store. She was cursing and screaming at the clerk to give her the money back as she was adamant she had given him $20 bucks. The clerk was also adamant that Gambrell only turned over a dollar.
In a fit of rage, Gambrell stormed behind the counter and began to punch the clerk in the head and face demanding the money. She then grabbed a pair of scissors and held them to the throat of the clerk demanding her $20.00 back. She threatened to harm the clerk if he did not comply. Concerned for his safety, the clerk obtained two $10 dollar bills and presented them to Gambrell.
The suspect left the scene and began to drive away. She then peered down into her purse and noticed none other than the original $20.00 bill she so vehemently claimed she had given the clerk in the first place. Gambrell then returned to the scene where Troopers took her into custody without incident.
The clerk, although shaken up, did not require medical attention.
Vickie Gambrell was transported from the scene to Troop 6 where she was formally charged with the following offenses: Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (felony), Aggravated Menacing (felony) and Offensive Touching (misdemeanor). She was released on an $8,500.00 unsecured bond
The WCSO Reminds Residents To Watch For Motorcycles During Bike Week Sept 17-20
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Reminds Residents To Watch for Motorcycles During Bike Week Sept 17-20.
Wicomico County MD--As thousands of motorcycle riders come to visit Delmarva this week the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind everyone to be extra careful and watch for motorcycle riders.
One out of every nine U.S. road fatalities accounted for last year involved motorcycle riders. This steady increase in fatalities over the past decade represents one of our Nation’s greatest highway safety challenges.
Motorcycle fatalities now account for 11 percent of total road fatalities and have increased each year from a low of 2,116 in 1997 to 4,810 in 2006. So while there has been success in reducing automobile deaths in recent years, this progress is being negated by the rise in motorcycle fatalities, which has more than doubled.
Because of their smaller size, motorcyclists are often hidden in a vehicle’s blind spot. “It’s crucial that motorists always make a visual check for motorcycles by checking mirrors and blind spots before entering or leaving a lane of traffic and at intersections.” said Lt. Babe Wilson.
Lt. Wilson also said that motorcyclists are much more vulnerable than passenger vehicle drivers in the event of a crash. He said that research shows that approximately 80 percent of motorcycle crashes injure or kill a motorcycle rider, while only 20 percent of passenger car crashes injure or kill a driver or passenger in their vehicle.
Lt. Wilson offered several tips for drivers to help keep motorcyclists safe on our roadways:
Remember the motorcycle is a vehicle with all of the rights and privileges of any other motor vehicle on the roadway. Always allow a motorcyclist the full lane width—never try to share a lane;
Always make a visual check for motorcycles by checking mirrors and blind spots before entering or leaving a lane of traffic and at intersections;
Always signal your intentions before changing lanes or merging with traffic;
Don’t be fooled by a flashing turn signal on a motorcycle – motorcycle signals are often not self-canceling and riders sometimes forget to turn them off. Wait to be sure the motorcycle is going to turn before you proceed;
Remember that road conditions which are minor annoyances to other vehicles pose major hazards to motorcyclists;
Allow more following distance, three or four seconds, when following a motorcycle, so the motorcyclist has enough time to maneuver or stop in an emergency. And don’t tailgate. In dry conditions, motorcycles can stop more quickly than cars.
Lt. Wilson said motorcyclists have responsibilities, too, by following the rules of the road, being alert to other drivers, and always wearing DOT-compliant helmets and protective gear.
Our message to all drivers is: Share the Road and be Courteous to Motorcyclists. Always Look Once Look Twice and Look Again at Intersections.
Tiger Leaps 16-Foot Fence, Kills Zoo Worker
Feline gets new cage after escaping electrified enclosure in Vietnam
HANOI, Vietnam - A worker was killed and another injured when a tiger jumped a fence at a zoo in Vietnam, officials said.
Duong Thanh Phi, the zoo's director, said the workers were planting trees at the Dai Nam park in Binh Duong province Thursday when the tiger jumped the 16-foot electrified wall at his cage.
He said the tiger mauled a 47-year-old worker in the head and neck, and that the worker died on the way to a hospital.

What Brilliance!!
I guess I must be on the wrong page:
A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a year of gasoline.
A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a year.
So, the average clunker transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.
They claim 700,000 vehicles so that's 224 million gallons / year.
That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.
5 million barrels of oil is about ¼ of one day's US consumption.
And, 5 million barrels of oil costs about $3 50 million dollars at $75/bbl.
So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.
How good a deal was that ???
They'll probably do a great job with health care though!!
Yeah, right!!
A FUNNY THING HAPPENED IN CONGRESS
The California courts have ruled that illegal's can not be denied coverage. The Supreme Court refused to hear the case, on appeal, thus upholding the lower court. (14th amendment) It seems, to me, only Joe Wilson understands this. The other fools in the chamber are arguing over what the bill says about illegal's when it makes no difference, as the courts have already ruled.
Democrats are calling for censure of Wilson, yet they have no problem with a tax cheat as secretary of the treasury or the tax cheat writing tax law. Wilson might be the only man in Washington that knows what he is doing.

Hebron, Once Again Up To No Good
Hebron Works To Quell Public Participation at Meetings
Anthony Gorski, the attorney who was recently sanctioned in Federal Court for $10,000.00, has drafted a new policy for Hebron Planning Commission which permits the total shut-down of public participation at meetings.
One of the long-time Planning Commission members announced she will resign at the end of the year.
Brooke Mulford Update, Yahoo!!!!!!
MIBG SCANS ARE CLEAR & We Are Back Home Again!
Brooke had her MIBG scan this morning and the results are in and the scans indicate that there is NO presence of Neuroblastoma in her body! She will still need to get a Bone Marrow Biopsy to make sure that the marrow is clear as well but this is such great news!!! We have waited so long to hear that news! Thank you all so much for all the prayers! We did find out today that although her scans are clear now they will be doing radiation to the areas (skull & tops of both femurs) where her last scans back in May showed she had NB as well as the abdominal area where the initial tumor started. We will be heading back up to start radiation at University of Penn Wednesday Sept. 23 (initial appt. to do all the calculations and she will get her tattoo’s) with radiation starting that next Mon the 28th. She will get radiation for 12 straight days (with breaks on the weekends) as an outpatient.
This has been such a great day for us and to top it all off we got a very special visit from David Akers of the Philadelphia Eagles this afternoon before we left. I was so impressed, not just by the fact that he is a great player, but that he was so genuine, kind and caring and he dedicates so much time, effort and money to help the kids at CHOP and makes numerous visits there to meet with the kids. He spent about 45 minutes with us in the room and Brooke really got a “kick” (sorry, I had to say it) out of him. He was so great with her and she was so happy to share her great news with him! Thank you so much Sandy Dickerson for setting this visit up!
Well, we finally got home tonight at 9:00pm and are all very tired but we are just busting at the seams with joy right now and wanted to share this all with you. We know that with this disease we always have to be cautiously optimistic and we still have so far to go but with all the struggles it is just such a joy to have moments to celebrate! We have learned to appreciate every good day and even the bad but today we feel doubly blessed.
As we approach the anniversary tomorrow of September 11th I would also like to remind everyone to please pray for the families who lost loved ones on that tragic day and let us never forget.
Thank you and God Bless,
Amy

'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'
You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001. Neither will I.
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed.. I gave him the peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.'
I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night.
I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said. 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.'
I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered.
I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them.
I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan . I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me?
I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor.
Some sought Me with their last breath. Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there.
I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do.. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me?
Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you . But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found.. Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.'
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
God
During the next 60 seconds, stop whatever you are doing, and take this opportunity. (Literally it is only 1 minute.) All you have to do is the following:
Stop and think and appreciate God's power in your life, for doing what you know is pleasing to Him. If you are not ashamed to do this, follow the instructions. Jesus said, 'If you are ashamed of Me, I will be ashamed of you before My Father'
If you are not ashamed, copy and send this message...only if you believe 'Yes, I love my God. He is my fountain of Life and My Savior. He Keeps me going day and night. Without Him, I am no one. But with Him, I can do everything. Christ is my strength.'
Albero Is Protected By The CDA
BUT. A lawsuit filed against him, seeking to hold him liable for comments other people left on his blog, could end up being a very clarifying legal precedent protecting Web publishers from being responsible for other peoples' asinine anonymous comments. To that end, I hope Albero succeeds in getting the lawsuit thrown out, as we report today he is trying to do.
The background is all there in reporter Greg Latshaw's story - go read it. Here's my takeaway: I think Albero's attorney, Bruce Bright, is absolutely correct that the Communications Decency Act of 1996 shields a Web publisher like Albero (and like me, and my employer) from liability for unprotected speech contained in comments left by other people. Even if those comments are anonymous. And EVEN IF the Web publisher filters or edits comments; Albero stringently filters comments on his blog. But according to the CDA, it doesn't matter, legally, whether Albero filters comments or lets them appear automatically. The law is simply on his side here.
As for the rightness or wrongness of the law: I think it's right. I think the writers of comments are morally responsible for their content, not the hosts of the Web sites on which they appear.
He Told Bush That ‘America Is Under Attack’
Q&A with Andrew Card, who whispered news of 9/11 to the president
Former White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card was, famously, the man who broke the news of the full enormity of the Sept. 11 attacks to President Bush during an appearance at a Florida elementary school. Now in private life after six years in one of the toughest jobs in politics, he talked to msnbc.com’s Afsin Yurdakul about his experiences on that fateful day eight years ago. Excerpts from their conversation follow.
Please tell me what the past eight years have been like for you, personally and professionally.

The Daily Times Takes Chief Webster On His Word, AGAIN?
This coming from a guy who told the Daily Times that he didn't see a thing when Casey Tilghman we being yanked off of Councilwoman Rachel Polk by none other than Chief Webster!
Yeah Chiefy, I trust you like I trust the Devil himself. A Police Chief that sues anyone and everyone if they disagree with him. A Poli9ce Chief that even as recent as last weekend demanded that Joe Albero not take pictures of him drinking at the Boat Docking Contest in Crisfield. This coming from a Police Chief who LIED on his Court paperwork stating he was a resident of another County when he was clearly living in a different County. This coming from a guy who claimed there were no Gangs in Salisbury. This coming from a Police Chief who was torn down by a Judge in the Rachel Polk case who clearly stated, IF YOU CAN'T TRUST YOUR OWN CHIEF OF POLICE, WHO CAN YOU TRUST! He then granted Mrs. Polk a Peace Order.
What An Idiot! Believe me, there's more to come today!
Let Me See If I've Got This Right
After being interviewed by the school administration, the prospective teacher said:
'Let me see if I've got this right.
'You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning.
'You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride.
'You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job.
'You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the final exams.
'You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card.
'You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps.
'You want me to do all this and then you tell me. . . I CAN'T PRAY?

The Light Goes On
An 80-year-old man goes for a physical. All of his tests come back with
normal results. The doctor says, 'Bert, everything looks great. How are you
doing mentally and emotionally? Are you at peace with God?'
Bert replies, 'God and I are tight. He knows I have poor eyesight, so he's
fixed it for when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom,
*poof*!, the light goes on. When I'm done, *poof*!, the light goes off.'
'Wow, that's incredible,' the doctor says.
A little later in the day, the doctor calls Bert's wife. 'Ethel,' he says,
'Bert is doing fine but I had to call you because I'm in awe of his
relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night
and *poof *!, the light goes on in the bathroom, and when he's done,
*poof*! the light goes off?'
'OH MY GAWD!' Ethel exclaims. 'He's peeing in the fridge again!!!!'
