A Little Too Late For An “I’m Sorry”
Location: Country Farms, 2136 West Newport Pike, Wilmington, Delaware, New Castle County
Date and Time: Thursday, September 10th, 2009 at 10:43 a.m.
Suspect(s): Vickie Gambrell, 53, of Claymont, Delaware
Resume: Yesterday morning, Troopers were called to the Country Farms on West Newport Pike for an aggravated menacing complaint.
This investigation revealed that at approximately 10:43 a.m. Vickie Gambrell entered the store and advised the clerk that she wanted $20.00 worth of gasoline and placed a $1.00 bill on the counter. The clerk told her that she had only given him a dollar and a heated argument ensued.
For the next several minutes, Gambrell stormed in and out of the store. She was cursing and screaming at the clerk to give her the money back as she was adamant she had given him $20 bucks. The clerk was also adamant that Gambrell only turned over a dollar.
In a fit of rage, Gambrell stormed behind the counter and began to punch the clerk in the head and face demanding the money. She then grabbed a pair of scissors and held them to the throat of the clerk demanding her $20.00 back. She threatened to harm the clerk if he did not comply. Concerned for his safety, the clerk obtained two $10 dollar bills and presented them to Gambrell.
The suspect left the scene and began to drive away. She then peered down into her purse and noticed none other than the original $20.00 bill she so vehemently claimed she had given the clerk in the first place. Gambrell then returned to the scene where Troopers took her into custody without incident.
The clerk, although shaken up, did not require medical attention.
Vickie Gambrell was transported from the scene to Troop 6 where she was formally charged with the following offenses: Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony (felony), Aggravated Menacing (felony) and Offensive Touching (misdemeanor). She was released on an $8,500.00 unsecured bond
This is what you call a bad start to your morning.
ReplyDeletehahahahahahaha
ReplyDeletetypical
ReplyDeleteInteresting, as crazy as she acted, when she realized she was wrong she went back to the scene of the crime. Too bad she couldn’t keep her cool, she could have saved a lot of money. Thank God we aren’t referring to her today as the "crazy scissor killer". That poor clerk is going to need therapy.
ReplyDeleteI think this was Bush's fault.

Definately Bush's fault. This would have never happened if he wasn't President.
ReplyDeleteTypical is right!
ReplyDeleteThat crazy b*tch needs to be locked up somewhere.
ReplyDeleteChances are,she knew EXACTLY what she was doing but panicked and drove back thinking she could 'splain her way out of it.
I hope this woman doesnt have little kids around her.
Armed robbery anyone????
ReplyDeleteI think she works for ACORN !
ReplyDeleteI love these heart-warming feel good stories. She looks real remorseful in her mug shot. This story made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteWhy wasn't this a caption this photo, Joe? Her face says a sarcastic, "Oops...my bad."
ReplyDelete"typical" of what?
ReplyDeleteRage is a big problem these days. You must be careful who you toy with. You never know what the result will be. This poor clerk didn't ask for any of it. Wonder what type of punishment this crime will bring?
ReplyDelete3:33 you really want someone to just come out and say it dont you?
ReplyDeleteCome on, you aint foolin anyone.
You know what this is typical of, BUD.
Shoot first ask questions later
ReplyDeleteWoopsies!
ReplyDeletewait is that Big Momma?
ReplyDeleteTruth Be Told, the charges should be armed robbery, and assault. Why? Because:
ReplyDelete#1. She used scissors as a weapon.
#2. She took money she had no right to.
#3. The punch was clearly a violent physical assault on his person
That equals armed robbery, and assault by definition of the words.
How did the cops arrive at offensive touching and aggravated menacing? Because she returned to amend her senior moment? PLEEZE!
