2016 Election Study Published

(MIDDLETOWN, CT) March 6, 2017 – The 2016 presidential campaign broke the mold when it comes to patterns of political advertising. But, in a new publication, the Wesleyan Media Project directors say “Not so fast” to those who argue that advertising no longer matters in elections.

The article published in The Forum: A Journal of Applied Research in Contemporary Politics (open access through mid-April 2017) shows that the presidential race featured far less advertising than the previous cycle, a huge imbalance in the number of ads across candidates, and one candidate who almost ignored discussions of policy. Yet, at the congressional level, political advertising appeared far more ordinary. The authors share lessons about advertising in the 2016 campaign, and argue that its seeming lack of effectiveness may owe to the unusual nature of the presidential campaign with one nonconventional candidate and the other using an unconventional message strategy.

Furthermore, the authors demonstrate that:

1) Clinton’s unexpected losses came in states in which she failed to air ads until the last week.
See Figure 4 below, which shows the number of pro-Trump and pro-Clinton ads aired on broadcast television during each week, both overall (top left panel) and in three key states.

Brilliant Response to Liberal Claim “My Body, My Choice”

How often do you hear a liberal woman selfish child trapped in a grown liberal woman’s body make the claim, “My body, my choice”. I see it literally every time we write about the importance of being pro-life. It’s right up there with the, “How is a MAN trying to tell me what to do with my body?”

The fact that it’s even a debate whether or not a woman is able to kill an unborn child because she was irresponsible and doesn’t want to be punished with a baby (as Obama likes to say) is mind-boggling. I guess they are consistent though and don’t believe in personal responsibility under any circumstances. So they got that going for them… which is nice.

If you don’t want to have a baby, how about you try having sex with condoms and birth control, or the most radical idea, don’t have sex until you’re ready.

The Next Domino To Fall: Commercial Real Estate

Unless the Federal Reserve intends to buy up every dead and dying mall in America, this is one crisis that the Fed can't bail out with a few digital keystrokes.

Just as generals prepare to fight the last war, central banks prepare to battle the last financial crisis--which in the present context means a big-bank liquidity meltdown like the one that nearly toppled thr global financial system in 2008-09.

Planning to win the next war by assuming it will be a copy of the last confict is an excellent strategy for losing the next war. The same holds true for the next financial crisis: reckoning that it will be a repeat of 2008 is an excellent way to be caught completely off-guard.

Crises may rhyme, but they don't repeat. The next Global Financial Meltdown won't start in subprime mortgages--that sector has been wiped out, written down, or passed on to the poor tax-donkey taxpayers.

Lead-Paint Bill Would Let Baltimore Sue for Past Damages

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Bills that would hold accountable those whose products cause lead poisoning, and taking lead out of drinking water, are moving through legislative committees in the Maryland General Assembly this session.

The House Judiciary Committee heard testimony Wednesday on a bill that would allow plaintiffs — ostensibly the city of Baltimore and landlords — to broadly sue manufacturers of lead-based paint for property or economic damages caused by the presence of lead-based paint in residential buildings.

Baltimore in particular would be able to recoup any costs the city has committed to abatement — fixing actual damages and funding educational programs in particular. Lead exposure in young children is linked to developmental delays, learning difficulties, weight loss, hearing loss and abdominal pain.

Sen. Al Franken Opposed to School Choice Except for His Own Kids

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) was highly critical of Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos during her confirmation hearing, citing that DeVos had never attended a public school or sent a child to one, alphanews.com reported on March 2.

But Franken seems to like the idea of sending his own children to private schools — they attended Dalton School in New York City where tuition is $44,640 per year.

“Dalton is known for educating celebrities and children of royalty,” alphanews.com reported.

And Franken himself enjoyed attending a private school.

“According to an interview with Harvard Magazine, Franken was a math and science whiz as a boy,” alphanews.com reported. “As he approached secondary school years, his parents wanted to find a better school for their gifted student.”

“Franken ended up attending and graduating from Blake, one of the most exclusive private schools in the Minneapolis area, where the tuition for upperclassmen is currently $29,025 per year,” alphanews.com reported.

Here's what life for 'Baby Jessica' is like today

On October 14, 1987, long before Twitter, or Facebook, or even the internet really, 18-month-old Jessica McClure went viral. The entire country waited with bated breath as rescue teams struggled to save "Baby Jessica" – as she became known in the papers – who was trapped in a well for nearly 60 hours before she was finally extricated, miraculously alive.

It all happened in her family's home in the oil city of Midland, Texas, where her aunt, Jamie Moore, ran a daycare center. Jessica was playing with a few other children in the backyard while her mother, Cissy, watched over them. Cissy went inside the house for just a moment to answer a phone call, and rushed out when she heard the other children screaming because Jessica had fallen down a well that was 22-feet-deep and only eight inches in diameter.

The fact that the well was so deep and narrow and that she was trapped under solid rock made the rescue mission uncommonly difficult, and as each hour passed, parents everywhere watching their worst nightmare unfold on CNN began to lose hope for her survival. But the rescue teams managed to drill a parallel well and then create a tunnel to where baby Jessica was trapped, and finally, at the 58-hour mark, she was safely brought above ground.

David Horowitz: Obama Is Leading 'War to Destroy Trump'

As I predicted in "Big Agenda" – my best-selling book about President Donald Trump's plan to save America – the Democrats and their media accomplices have declared all-out war on the Trump White House.

Under the guise of "resistance" – as though the Trump was the head of an occupying army rather than an elected president – they have set out to destroy his administration.

They are not "sore losers," as many had surmised when their hysterical attacks on Trump as an American Hitler began. They are an army of saboteurs bent on destroying the government the voters preferred.

Their general, Barack Obama, is an unrepentant radical who abused the office of the presidency when he was in power, and as ex-president is now leading a war to overthrow his successor..

Council Expresses Regret Hours After Okaying Brewery’s Silo Addition

OCEAN CITY — Resort officials this week approved a conditional use amendment allowing for the installation of a grain silo at a mid-town brewery, but some on the Mayor and Council later regretted the decision amid concerns the company had not been entirely forthcoming over an existing silo.

On Monday, the Mayor and Council approved the findings of fact on a pair of requests to modify conditional use permits for the Ocean City Brewing Company at 56th Street that would allow the company to expand an existing front deck to allow for a greater outdoor dining and play area and install an indoor grain silo that would stand 34 feet tall with as many as 16 feet protruding from the existing roof line.

Earlier this year, the Planning and Zoning Commission approved the conditional use permit requests submitted by the Ocean City Brewing Company after a lengthy public hearing that carried over from November into January. During the public hearing, the planning commission heard testimony from neighboring property owners concerned a grain silo protruding from the existing facility would greatly impact their views and ultimately their property values.

Like Carson, Obama Called Slaves 'Immigrants'

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson was lambasted by critics Monday after referring to Africans who came to America aboard slave ships as "immigrants," but former President Barack Obama has used the same language.

Carson, speaking to HUD employees on Monday, said, "There were other immigrants who came in the bottom of slave ships, who worked even longer, even harder, for less, but they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great grandsons, great granddaughters might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land."

Carson, who is black, took heat from the NAACP, the Anne Frank Center and several others over the remarks. But he was undeterred, and instead of apologizing, he doubled down during a Monday night appearance on Armstrong Williams' Sirius XM Radio show.

"I think people need to actually look up the word immigrant," Carson told Williams.

Miracle Ship - HMS Resolute

This is a story about a ship, trapped in ice, which survived in such a way that no one would believe the tale without proof that it actually happened.

So ... here is the story, and here is the proof. We can learn all about it from an old newspaper which was published in England, in late 1856.

To begin, let’s set the stage.

The ship, called HMS Resolute, was on a specific mission. She was one of five vessels sent to look for the missing Franklin Expedition (a crew of men, and their leader, who were searching for a fabled “Northwest Passage” in the Arctic Region). The mummified remains, of some of those Franklin-expedition men, were later found on a lonely Arctic-area island.

The Resolute was a sturdy ship, built to manage the treacherous conditions of ice-clogged Arctic seas. Though such vessels could often make way where differently designed ships would never go, they could still get trapped in moving ice packs. Sometimes the ice would crush even a well-designed ship..

The Faking News Fakers: 'Wiretaps? What Wiretaps?'

Despite all the fake media hysterics, keeping the “Trump and Putin rigged the election” myth alive has nothing to do with facts. But it has everything to do with de-legitimizing Trump’s stunning victory, keeping his administration off-balance and derailing his agenda.

As usual, leftists and their media sycophants never let facts get in the way of a political hatchet job.

Last weekend, Donald Trump tweeted a sensational claim — that the Obama administration tapped his phones during the 2016 presidential campaign between Trump and BO’s corrupt heir-apparent, Hillary Clinton. The Democrats' public relations department, a.k.a. the mainstream media, responded with howls that there was no evidence of any wiretaps, much less evidence Obama knew about any wiretaps — just more Trump paranoid hysteria.

However, Patriot Post editor Thomas Gallatin provided a heap of evidentiary substance for Trump’s claims, given that news of wiretaps on senior Trump leadership, while Obama was in office, had been widely affirmed by the same Leftmedia outlets now denying Trump’s claims about wiretaps. Some of the more notable MSM print and talking-head “journalists” even cited these wiretaps as sources for their “reports” on Trump.

Gallatin pointed out that the MSM was “disingenuously dismissive” in rejecting Trump’s charge, especially given that an initial request to wiretap Trump’s team was turned down by the FISAC (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Court), but subsequent requests were granted.

Allow me to elaborate.

IRS Is Fine With A Little Fraud, Rejects GAO Recommendation

Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials shot down a congressional watchdog’s plea to improve the federal tax agency’s monitoring system to prevent paying fraudsters tax returns, according to a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report.

GAO officials urged the IRS to beef up oversight of tax returns after IRS managers told GAO auditors some IRS employees release tax returns when the filer’s account is under review or that person filed more than one tax return, often because IRS representatives don’t understand the codes on a taxpayer’s account. But IRS officials defied GAO’s recommendation.

“IRS disagreed with our recommendation to improve data for monitoring refund releases, stating that the problem is not widespread and current processes are sufficient,” GAO said. “We maintain that the data IRS uses are not sufficient to make such a determination.”

GAO also discovered the IRS doesn’t notify taxpayers when a dependent’s name appears on a fraudulent tax form.

Bills Would Increase Diversity in Medical Marijuana Business

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — After Carey Tilghman’s 6-year-old daughter, Paisley, suffered from a stroke, doctors drafted a plan to use a round of Botox injections and muscle relaxers to treat her condition.

Searching for an alternative for her daughter, Tilghman found that a transdermal patch filled with cannabis, which has been linked to shielding the brain from stroke damage, could possibly be helpful to her daughter, but she hasn’t been able access the drug in Maryland’s stalled medical cannabis industry.

Maryland has had one of the slowest rollouts of medical marijuana in the country.

The Natalie M. LaPrade Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission, which grants the licenses to growers, processors and dispensers, has been hampered by legal battles and pending legislation in the Maryland General Assembly since the state legalized medical cannabis in 2014

Obama's Rasputin Moves into the Bunker

Politics, it is said, makes curious bedfellows, and the longstanding relationship between Barack Obama and presidential adviser and confidante Valerie Jarrett is curious indeed. It had become curiouser and curiouser with the news that Jarrett is moving into Obama’s D.C. home, which is to serve as the nerve center to the resistance to the presidency of Donald Trump. As the Daily Mail reports:

Barack Obama is turning his new home in the posh Kalorama section of the nation's capital -- just two miles away from the White House -- into the nerve center of the mounting insurgency against his successor, President Donald J. Trump.

Obama's goal, according to a close family friend, is to oust Trump from the presidency either by forcing his resignation or through his impeachment.

And Obama is being aided in his political crusade by his longtime consigliere, Valerie Jarrett, who has moved into the 8,200-square-foot, $5.3-million Kaloroma mansion with the former president and Michelle Obama, long time best friends.

Jarrett played a vital -- if at times low-key -- role in the Obama presidency. She lived in the White House, dined with the Obamas, and help shape his domestic and foreign policies.

Watergate Redux?

We would seem to be experiencing a pretty close duplicate of the almost fifty-year-old scandal that rocked the world and brought down President Nixon. But this time the Washington Post is trying to cover up the scandal, not bring it to light.

President Trump gave President Obama and the Democrats lifesaving wiggle room by using words like “ wire tap” instead of “electronic surveillance” or “spying and “ Trump Tower” instead of “ Trump campaign” or “Trump campaign personnel.” By focusing on Trump’s exact words, the guilty parties think they can issue denials without outright lying.

President Obama further confused things ( but also in an indirect way clarified them) by asserting, through a written statement issued by an assistant, that neither he nor anyone in the White House had “ ordered” wiretapping of Trump. This confused the matter because he did not have to order the spying in order to know about it and encourage it, but also clarified the matter in that such a careful choice of words virtually amounted to confirmation that others, perhaps from the Justice Department, had ordered it with his knowledge and perhaps encouragement. That both the president and Valerie Jarrett referred to the written statement and have refused ( at least so far) further questions strongly suggests that, yes, there was spying on the Trump campaign, yes, they knew about it, and, yes, they did nothing to stop it.

Pat Buchanan Exposes The Beltway Conspiracy To Break Trump

At Mar-a-Lago this weekend President Donald Trump was filled “with fury” says The Washington Post, “mad — steaming, raging, mad.”

Early Saturday the fuming president exploded with this tweet: “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”

The president has reason to be enraged. For what is afoot is a loose but broad conspiracy to break and bring him down, abort his populist agenda, and overturn the results of the 2016 election.

At its heart is the “deep state” — agents of the intel community, their media collaborators, and their amen corner in a Democratic party whose control of our permanent government is all but total.

At the heart of the case against Trump is what appears to be a Big Lie.

It is that Vladimir Putin and Russian intelligence hacked the DNC and John Podesta’s email account, then colluded with Trump’s friends or associates to systematically sabotage Hillary Clinton’s campaign. Therefore, Trump stole the election and is an illegitimate president. In this city, Trump is looked upon as a border-jumper, an illegal alien.

Yet let us consider the constituent components of the charge.

All-knowing surveillance system detects gunfire all across America

Are those lamps on your local streets detecting when guns are fired? American cities are being upgraded to pinpoint shooters and help police fight gun violence.

Like something out of the futuristic policing TV show “APB,” new tech can locate the exact position where a gun is fired and report it immediately to law enforcement.

Called ShotSpotter, this is a tool that can be used by officials to respond even faster to the aid of gun violence victims — minutes can be the difference between life and death. And it provides police with far more information in advance.

Before arriving on the scene, the tech tells police the exact location of the shooter or shooters, the type of weapon, and number of shots fired. This sort of data can help law enforcement respond more effectively and reduce the risk to the officers responding.

Militaries use a similar technology to defeat enemy snipers. In war zones, these systems pinpoint the location of a hidden sniper, using the sound of the gunshot.

The ShotSpotter tech uses a similar acoustic approach, but in a system designed to protect civilian neighborhoods. It can also be used to protect locations that can be attractive for terrorists to strike, like power plants and tourist sites such as New York’s Times Square.

What is ShotSpotter?

With WikiLeaks Claims of C.I.A. Hacking, How Vulnerable Is Your Smartphone?

WikiLeaks on Tuesday released a significant cache of documents that it said came from a high-security network inside the Central Intelligence AgencyWikiLeaks called the documents Vault 7, and they lay out the capabilities of the agency’s global covert hacking program.
What is the C.I.A. program?
By the end of 2016, the C.I.A. program had 5,000 registered users, including government employees and contractors. And they had produced more than a thousand hacking systems. The agency’s arsenal, the documents indicate, included an array of malware ranging from viruses to clandestine “zero day” vulnerabilities in the software of major companies.
The files have circulated among former United States government hackers and contractors in “an unauthorized manner, one of whom provided WikiLeaks with portions of the archive,” WikiLeaks said.
WikiLeaks said it was publishing the documents while redacting and anonymizing some passages, including the names of “tens of thousands” of C.I.A. targets. WikiLeaks said it was not distributing “armed cyberweapons.”
How vulnerable is my smartphone?
The software targeted by the hacking program included the most popular smartphone operating systems: Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android.

Physicians on Ryan’s Obamacare 2.0: ‘Doomed for Failure’

Physicians urging patient-centered, free-market health care say House Speaker Paul Ryan’s newly released proposal to repeal Obamacare does not actually repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and, therefore, is “doomed for failure.”

“Since this does not completely repeal the ACA, we are still left with thousands of pages of regulations that will have unknown consequences in the future,” Dr. Gerard Gianoli, of the Louisiana-based Ear and Balance Institute, tells Breitbart News. “The GOP plan is worse than a repeal with no replacement plan at all.”

Gianoli explains:

It will not prevent the death spiral of the insurance industry, which will be now blamed on Republicans, and the march toward a government-controlled, single-payer system will continue. The GOP plan is doomed for failure. Instead of returning the insurance market to the vigor of a free market, the government will be supporting it with tax credits – the flip side of the ACA insurance penalty.

America’s Spy State Is Worse Than You Ever Imagined

WIKILEAKS EXPOSES THE DIABOLICAL DEPTHS OF THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY’S DOMESTIC SPYING NETWORK …

We knew the American spy state was out of control … and unlikely to ever be reined in.

But the extent of mass snooping by the federal government – which ostensibly exists to promote our liberty – is no longer just disturbing, it has become downright diabolical.

This week, whistleblowing website Wikileaks released 8,761 documents reportedly obtained from an “isolated, high-security network” located at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)’s headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Dubbed “Year Zero,” these documents reveal how the CIA – among other snooping programs – has been developing and utilizing tools that turn consumer electronic devices into “listening posts” for the government.

From Wikileaks …

“Year Zero” introduces the scope and direction of the CIA’s global covert hacking program, its malware arsenal and dozens of “zero day” weaponized exploits against a wide range of U.S. and European company products, include Apple’s iPhone, Google’s Android and Microsoft’s Windows and even Samsung TVs, which are turned into covert microphones.

As we noted previously, Binney is the NSA executive who created the agency’s mass surveillance program for digital information, who served as the senior technical director within the agency, who managed six thousand NSA employees, the 36-year NSA veteran widely regarded as a “legend” within the agency and the NSA’s best-ever analyst and code-breaker, who mapped out the Soviet command-and-control structure before anyone else knew how, and so predicted Soviet invasions before they happened (“in the 1970s, he decrypted the Soviet Union’s command system, which provided the US and its allies with real-time surveillance of all Soviet troop movements and Russian atomic weapons”). Binney is the real McCoy.

Binney resigned from NSA shortly after the U.S. approach to intelligence changed following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. He "became a whistleblower after discovering that elements of a data-monitoring program he had helped develop -- nicknamed ThinThread -- were being used to spy on Americans," PBS reported.

On Monday he came to the defense of the president, whose allegations on social media over the weekend that outgoing President Barack Obama tapped his phones during the 2016 campaign have rankled Washington.

AG Loretta Lynch issues plea for more protesting, blood, death in streets

Are the elements of the former Obama administration orchestrating another civil war?

Former Attorney General issued a video on behalf of Senate Democrats urging Americans to resist in the time of “fear and uncertainty for so many people.”

Lynch lamented “our rights being assailed, being trampled on and even being rolled back,” according to the hostage-like video.

She said it’s required “work” to “achieve the ideals of our Founding Fathers.”

“It has been people, individuals who have banded together, ordinary people who simply saw what needed to be done and came together and supported those ideals who have made the difference.

“They’ve marched, they’ve bled and yes, some of them died. This is hard. Every good thing is. We have done this before. We can do this again.”

The video ends with the Senate Democrats logo and website address.

Why Dems will regret a probe into Russian election hacking

The investigation of Russian interference in the US election could turn into a big headache for the Democrats. The phrase “Be careful what you ask for” comes to mind.

For months before the presidential election, I explained why the Democrats were making a big mistake by picking Hillary Clinton as their candidate. And I correctly predicted that she would lose.

The Democrats didn’t listen, and now their party is in shambles. They aren’t going to listen to me now either about the unintended consequences of an investigation of the Russians, but I’m going to explain anyway.

One of the reasons I predicted Hillary would lose was that the Russians had hacked her emails — along with those of some other Democratic Party higher-ups.

Maryland legislators consider additional funding for Planned Parenthood

Maryland Democrats announced backing Wednesday for legislation in the state to continue family planning services provided by Planned Parenthood, concerned the federal government will cut such funding in a Republican health care bill in Congress.

Maryland House Speaker Michael Busch, D-Anne Arundel, said the proposed GOP health care plan could cut family planning services that help 25,000 women in the state. The Maryland measure would direct $2 million in the state's Medicaid budget to family planning, as well as another $700,000 from the state's general fund.

Supporters of the Maryland bill said Republicans in Washington were attacking Planned Parenthood out of opposition of abortion. They say the Maryland legislation will ensure funding is available for low-income patients who rely on the preventative care services offered by Planned Parenthood.

"We will not let the federal government mess up the state of Maryland," said Del. Shane Pendergrass, a Howard County Democrat who is sponsoring the legislation.

A Third Of All Shopping Malls Are Projected To Close As 'Space Available' Signs Go Up All Over America

If you didn’t know better, you might be tempted to think that “Space Available” was the hottest new retail chain in the entire country.

As you will see below, it is being projected that about a third of all shopping malls in the United States will soon close, and we just recently learned that the number of “distressed retailers” is the highest that it has been since the last recession. Honestly, I don’t know how anyone can possibly believe that the U.S. economy is in “good shape” after looking at the retail industry. In my recent article about the ongoing “retail apocalypse“, I discussed the fact that Sears, J.C. Penney and Macy’s have all announced that they are closing dozens of stores in 2017, and you can find a pretty comprehensive list of 19 U.S. retailers that are “on the brink of bankruptcy” right here. Needless to say, quite a bloodbath is going on out there right now.

But I didn’t realize how truly horrific things were for the retail industry until I came across an article about mall closings on Time Magazine’s website

About one-third of malls in the U.S. will shut their doors in the coming years, retail analyst Jan Kniffen told CNBCThursday. His prediction comes in the wake of Macy’s reporting its worst consecutive same-store sales decline since the financial crisis.
Macy’s and its fellow retailers in American malls are challenged by an oversupply of retail space as customers migrate toward online shopping, as well as fast fashion retailers like H&M and off-price stores such as T.J. Maxx. As a result, about 400 of the country’s 1,100 enclosed malls will fail in the upcoming years. Of those that remain, he predicts that about 250 will thrive and the rest will continue to struggle.

The call of the white-suited women

Dang. It’s almost International Women’s Day — and me without my white suit.

Used to be a time when white was for the period between Easter and Labor Day. That’s it; those who dared to don white, particularly for shoes, were regarded as unschooled in proper fashion. And that, of course, meant you were a second-class citizen and would never get into the right college.

Oh, there was the winter white, of course. But it had to have a distinct yellowish tint to it. No fair sneaking in the bright cotton-look hue and calling it “snowflake” white, hoping the Fashion Police wouldn’t notice (interesting side-note: they used to be called the White Police, but rushed for a name-change after the unfortunate rioting of Ferguson, Missouri.)

But now? All the rules of wearing white have been tossed to the curb. We can thank Democrats for that.

Specifically, women Democrats.

After all, if it hadn’t been for the bold stand of Democratic Party women to put on white suits to protest President Donald Trump during his first joint session of Congress speech, the old, archaic rules of fashion might still be in play. But now the white suit has been taken out of its box — during winter. And it has a chance to go global.

City Installs ‘Female’ Traffic Signals for Equality, Gets Slammed for Stereotyping Women as Skirt-Wearing

Officials in an Australian city worried that pants-wearing traffic signals were perpetuating ‘unconscious bias.’

The city of Melbourne, Australia, has started installing dress-wearing, “female” traffic signals in the name of gender equality, and now they’re being hit for perpetuating the sexist idea that women should wear dresses.

According to an article in the local news source ABC, the city started installing the new lights on Tuesday as part of a campaign to eliminate “unconscious bias.” In other words, the city was concerned that seeing only “male” traffic signals was causing its residents to subconsciously develop the idea that male people mattered more than female people.

The indictment, announced by state Attorney General Christopher Porrino, mark the latest in a series of public misconduct scandals to embroil elected officials in New Jersey during the past few years.

NORTH KOREA: Missile tests were practice runs to hit the US military in Japan

North Korea's state-run media announced its latest missile launches were conducted to practice hitting US military bases in Japan, according to The Washington Post on Tuesday.
