Homeless father gets job, new home

A man who was living in a car with his 10-year-old daughter now has a job and a new home.

James Schweikhard moved to Colorado from Oklahoma in August with his daughter.

"I packed everything up that we own in the truck and there and we just drove here," he said. "It was more of a risk staying in Oklahoma. I couldn't get a job for anything, couldn't get a place to live."

The 41-year-old and his daughter began living in his suburban in August. School administrators began to suspect that the child was living in her father's car and reported their concern to Lakewood police in October.

Lakewood Police Officer James Butler went to see what's going on.
