I've Got Some Questions/Concerns About This Event

Someone just sent me the information about Mayor Ireton's New Years Eve event on the Plaza. A couple of things I found very interesting. First, isn't this exactly what I had proposed for weekends on the Downtown Plaza, (excluding children, of course).

I'm honored to see the Mayor using yet another one of my ideas but before I go any further, anyone who has ever participated in a "BAR CRAWL knows this is ALL about drinking and drinking very heavily at that. HOW could the Mayor tie the two events to the New Years Eve Family Friendly event and how could the Mayor allow drinking on the Plaza with children present?

Look, I'm all about adults going out and having a great time but once you throw children into the mix, game over.

We want to hear your thoughts on this event and please, done't come back here in comments and say it was the greatest event ever and so forth. I want to discuss combining drinking and children combined and a Mayor who promotes such a thing, including a Bar Crawl.

I was told a Salisbury Police Officer had to pepper spray someone at this event on the Plaza.

Happy New Year From Salisbury News

What an incredible year 2013 has been. Let's get right down to what some of you will be most interested in.
In 2013 Salisbury News reached more than 18,400,000 views. When we told you we had traffic in the millions, we meant it. When we told you we were DelMarVa's leading source for news and information, we meant it.

In fact, so much so, get this. I received a message from Governor O'Malley asking if I had a State Press Pass. When I replied, I stated that to date we had not been given the honor of such an invitation, even though we had surpassed 18,000,000 hits.

The very next day a representative from his Office sent me the formal documents and we sent them in for a background check. We were accepted and if this doesn't mean a whole lot to some of you, it certainly means a whole lot to us. Salisbury News is now Mainstream Media, as we should be. We have worked extremely hard 365 days a year for the past nine years and deserve to be respected as such. Salisbury News helped break the ice for Bloggers and we'd like to thank Governor O'Malley for such an honor.

Aside from all the news and information we have delivered, we have reunited hundreds of animals with their owners this year. Our Advertisers have once again helped make the lives of many local people much better by being there for them during difficult times. We're not saying what we've done publicly but know we are out there making a difference through advertising revenue, "Paying It Forward" as usual.

A good portion of the year I lived in Salisbury in order to qualify to run for Mayor. Regardless of the final numbers, it was an honor to meet thousands of you face to face and I want to express the following. I knocked on your doors and not one of you slammed the door in my face. Each and every one of you allowed me the opportunity to express what I felt was best for the City and quite frankly there was absolutely no question about it, the majority of citizens are fed up. Don't you let the final numbers tell you any different. Nevertheless, my running for Mayor has opened the eyes of thousands of people who now question the process and that's a very good thing for future elections. You just never know what might happen the next go around.

Now, it's important I share the following information with you. Salisbury News is NOT Joe Albero. Salisbury News has enjoyed this incredible success because of YOU and our Contributors. Yes, we have turned incredible numbers traffic wise but don't think for a second that I could put up more than 94,000 articles all by myself. We have published more than 515,000 comments, spammed more than 66,000 comments and rejected more than 250,000 comments. You probably have no real idea what it's like to try and keep Salisbury News comments in real time. Let me assure you, it's a lot of work and it's not at all easy. For that, I want to thank our Contributors for helping me sift through such an incredible volume of comments by reading each and every one of them and processing what we feel fit.

Then there's YOU. For many years I had been out driving around whenever I'd get a call about a fire, an accident, a crime scene and so many other situations. Today, because of YOU, I can spend a LOT more time with my Family because YOU send us images and details. Many of you tip us off on incredible stories and forward them to me. I truly cannot thank ALL of YOU enough for that. We're able to deliver real time news and information about roads being closed, schools in lock down and the list goes on and on.

So many of YOU have taken in literally hundreds of animals, sent me pictures and information allowing us to reunite each and every single one of them with their owners, usually within the first 20 minutes. THINK about that for just a second. Do you have any idea just how successful that is. It means there are so many people on this Site that a lost or found animal is reunited that quickly. There's no specific time of day or night we publish lost or found animals. We immediately publish this information and someone ends up recognizing the animal and contacts the owner.

In closing, 2013 proved to be an incredible year all around. Our Advertisers have enjoyed unbelievable success because of the traffic we achieved. Again, where else can you advertise for $100.00 a month and reach so many local people. Our ads aren't buried deep in a section of our Website like every one else. Your ads are on the home page each and every time. They show up on every article you click on. If you'd like to enjoy the same success in 2014, contact me at alberobutzo@wmconnect.com or 410-430-5349. Help us "Pay It Forward" throughout the entire year and not just at Christmas.

Happy New Year to ALL of you and we Thank You so very much for ALL of your support.

Mayor Jim Ireton Says, Do As I Say, Not As I Do

"Plowing residential streets will ONLY occur if the snow accumulation exceeds FOUR INCHES or more".

"Property owners are required to clear snow and ice from sidewalks surrounding their property within 24 hours after the snow or ice stops falling".

Publishers Notes: It seems pretty clear to me, the City has no money left after the New Years Eve event. So you follow your leader and get out there and shovel your sidewalks or Jimmy is going to send you a FINE to build up their account for the next time it snows and maybe then they can afford to plow the roads and make it SAFE enough for you to go to the store, the doctor and the hospital.

As you can see, the roads in Salisbury this morning are packed down with snow and icy conditions and it is NOT safe at all to get around.

You know, in the past you have to wonder what your elected officials thought whenever we published something like this. Oh, it's no big deal, no one really goes to his Site. Today they have to be thinking, I better take a laxative for that brick that's about to come out.

Boy Scouts Open Ranks To Gay Youth On New Year’s Day

The Boy Scouts of America will accept openly gay youths starting on New Year's Day, a historic change that has prompted the BSA to ponder a host of potential complications — ranging from policies on tentmates and showers to whether Scouts can march in gay pride parades.

Yet despite their be-prepared approach, BSA leaders are rooting for the change to be a non-event, comparable to another New Year's Day in 2000 when widespread fears of digital-clock chaos to start the new millennium proved unfounded.

“My hope is there will be the same effect this Jan. 1 as the Y2K scare,” said Brad Haddock, a BSA national executive board member who chairs the policy implementation committee. “It’s business as usual, nothing happens and we move forward.”

Question Of The Day 12-30-13

What word or phrase would you like to see disappear for 2014?

Comments Worthy Of Your Opinion And Discussion

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Shots Fired At Court Plaza In Fruitland":

"Anonymous said...
"The Bury" is the most stupid nickname I have ever heard. Mayor Ireton needs to kill that marketing stunt quickly. Sounds really trashy.

January 2, 2014 at 10:42 AM"

Really? The mayor thinks marketing Salisbury as "The Bury" is a good idea? If so he is a kook and one that needs some serious schooling in what is appropriate and what is not.
The Eastern Shore Ballet Theater has relocated to "The Bury"-LOL. Sounds classy doesn't it?
You either need to promote tastefully or promote low class ghetto. It can't be both ways otherwise it looks foolish and amateurish.

Shots Fired At Court Plaza In Fruitland

Sheriff's Deputies are on the scene after reports came in this morning from business owners in the Court Plaza who came to work this morning with bullet holes in their windows.

They also found blood on the sidewalk, yet no one called the Police when the incident actually happened over New Years.

Once again, you heard it first on Salisbury News.

Cop Gets One Year For Trading DWI Charges For Sex

If a 50-year-old male private citizen forced a 24-year-old female to have sex with him the end result would be many years in jail. In Missouri, if a 50-year-old Police Officer trades drinking and driving charges for sex, then they only have to sit in a cage for one year.

Kristin Tate of BenSwann.com provided coverage of police officer Timothy Jones’ disgusting behavior. Jones, an officer in Country Club Hills Missouri, pulled over a 24-year-old woman of suspected drunken driving. Officer Jones then administered a sobriety test, which the woman failed.

Jones, a twenty-year veteran of the force, then offered to make the charges disappear if the woman had sex with him. He then drove the intoxicated woman to her home, where they had sex.

The young woman had left her cell phone in Officer Jones’ patrol car. By the time the cops called to return the phone, the young lady had confided in her mother what happened. The victim’s mother reported the incident to police.

How does a Police Officer get such a slight sentence in the small Missouri town of Country Club Hills? This incident begs the question, how often do cops in this area commit crimes such as this against private citizens?

Shore’s Salvation Army Kicks Off Awareness Campaign

SALISBURY — The Salvation Army has been serving the lower shore for the last 100 years, but many residents of the tri-county area don’t know the full scope of what it offers and associate the organization only with Christmas, red pails and ringing bells.

Sherry Maykrantz, the new director of development for the organization, is looking to change that perception with an awareness campaign this year.

“I think the most important thing for us is to bring awareness that we serve Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset counties,” she said. “Even if there’s not a physical presence, we’re still here and we serve 365 days a year.”

Enough Is Enough in Annapolis

As the General Assembly session approaches, Marylanders once again face the ominous prospect of ever higher taxes as the state government addresses an anticipated $580-million budget deficit. After seven years of the Gov. Martin O'Malley administration and dozens of increases in taxes and fees, the Democratic monopoly in Annapolis still cannot balance the budget without demanding more from working Marylanders.

It does not have to be this way.

After claiming that billions in higher income, sales, gas and other taxes would slay the deficit monster, the need for Marylanders to pay tribute to their leaders in Annapolis seems unquenchable. Since Governor O'Malley entered office, the legislature has passed higher income taxes, sales taxes and gas taxes; increased fees and tolls throughout the state; mandated localities pass a "rain tax" to pay for stormwater management projects, and increased taxes on cigarettes and alcohol. Even these measures were not enough to support state spending, so state Democrats supported legalizing gambling, which the voters approved.

Incredible Feedback From The Founders Of The Salisbury New Years Eve Event

Hey Joe:

I read your post titled 'I've Got Some Questions/Concerns About This Event'. Rightfully so you have questions and concerns about it, and I should have done a better job getting you information. However, with a first year event such as this, there is such a thing as being too busy, and the majority of the marketing we did was social media based.

I wanted your viewers to understand that tax dollars weren't 'wasted' on this event. The event was not hosted by the City of Salisbury. There was a tremendous amount of support and cooperation by the City to allow us to work with Police, EMS, Fire and Public Works resources, but such should be the case in an event that hosted upwards of 2,000 people. Public safety should always be the number one concern.

This event was a sub committee of 3rd Friday, which is a branch of the Arts and Entertainment District, through the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce. Specifically the event was fulfilled by a core group of volunteers, including but not limited to, Jamie Heater (3rd Friday) and me (Joey Gilkerson). I use the verbiage 'fulfilled' because we cant take credit for the idea. Many people have discussed and pondered doing a ball drop in Downtown Salisbury, but as we both know, great ideas are a dime a dozen. Jamie Heater said, 'Folks have been approaching me at 3rd Friday for years requesting a Downtown Salisbury Ball Drop. This was the first opportunity I have had where I felt comfortable trying to organize the event. Credit is due to all of the volunteers that made this possible."

We had over 30 volunteers at the event. Many of us met at 8:00 AM on December 31st, and did not leave until after 4:00 AM on January 1st. This does not include the 100's of hours we all had into the coordination of the event before hand. This event was 100% dependent on volunteers. All funds were privately fund raised. An event like this costs thousands of dollars to put on. We had numerous 'platinum', or $1,000 sponsors that made it possible. The City contributed $250, which we thought was fair to the tax payer.

Finally, the main concern of a bar crawl and a kid-friendly event co-existing. I can absolutely see why this is a concern on the surface, but here are the facts: This was far from a 'drunk fest'. There was not one incident within the event. The only incident included only 1 citizen, and occurred in a line to get into a bar, at nearly 1:00 AM, as the event was cleared out. The bar crawl didn't take place on-site; it took place within the cooperating establishments. The goal for an event like this is to support local businesses. To the best of my knowledge, the majority of the businesses involved in both the event and the bar crawl had record breaking sales numbers. With a free event on the plaza, that serves alcohol, if you were a restaurant/bar owner, you would want to be included in some fashion as well... or it wouldn't seem fair. And in reality, dry event or not, free to all ages or not, occupants of the nearby restaurants/bars would attend the event to see the ball drop. Its New Years Eve!

My final thought is this: If you feel as though it is appropriate to bring children to this event, please do! If you think that it is an environment not suitable for your children, please don't. I don't believe it is my place to tell parents how to parent, and I wanted the event to be as flexible as possible. The event was fun and safe for all ages that attended, and we will continue to host it in such fashion.

We want to encourage any and all that attended to provide feedback for the event so that we can improve for next year. Please direct all suggestions to feedback@nyesby.com.

Thanks for listening,
Joey Gilkerson

Went Fishing, Caught 4 Deer

What a wonderful story, hope you all enjoy it................

A once in the history of mankind kind of thing. The Best Day Of Fishing Ever! Some fishing stories are a little hard to believe but this guy has pictures to prove his story... I've heard of salmon jumping into boats, but never anything quite like this...
Tom Satre told the Sitka Gazette that he was out with a charter group on his 62-foot fishing vessel when four juvenile black-tailed deer swam directly toward his boat.

"Once the deer reached the boat, the four began to circle the boat, looking directly at us. We could tell right away that the young bucks were distressed. I opened up my back gate and we helped the typically skittish and absolutely wild animals onto the boat. In all my years fishing, I've never seen anything quite like it! Once on board, they collapsed with exhaustion, shivering."

"This is a picture I took of the rescued bucks on the back of my boat, the Alaska Quest. We headed for Taku Harbour. Once we reached the dock, the first buck that we had pulled from the water hopped onto the dock, looked back as if to say 'thank you' and disappeared into the forest. After a bit of prodding and assistance, two more followed, but the smallest deer needed a little more help.

This is me carrying the little guy.

My daughter, Anna, and son, Tim, helped the last buck to its feet. We didn't know how long they had been in the icy waters or if there had been others who did not survive. My daughter later told me that the experience was something that she would never forget, and I suspect the deer felt the same way as well!"

I told you! Awesome!

California Bar Grants Law License To Illegal Immigrant

The California Supreme Court ruled Thursday that an illegal immigrant can join the bar and begin to practice law in that state, granting a major symbolic victory to immigrant rights advocates who say it’s a step on the path to equal treatment in employment law.

Rebuffing the Obama administration’s arguments, the justices unanimously decided in favor of Sergio C. Garcia, an illegal immigrant who was twice brought across the border illegally by his parents, eventually earned a law degree from a California school and has been trying to join the bar for years.

Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye said state legislation signed last year by Gov. Jerry Brown removed the final barriers and Mr. Garcia can be licensed, even though he is not in the country legally.

Legal Pot Bill Planned For Maryland

With the legalization of the sale of recreational marijuana in Colorado as of yesterday, there is renewed interest in Maryland to pass similar legislation

Del. Curt Anderson, a Democrat who represents District 43 in the city, says he expects the chances are better than they've been before for a bill he's working on to make it out of committee and to get passed in both chambers in Annapolis.

In previous years measures that would remove criminal penalties have either died in committee or passed the Senate and then were not able to get enough votes on the House side.

Salisbury Continues To Battle With Adult Store

SALISBURY — The battle over a “questionable” business in Salisbury intensified again last week when city officials vowed to start fining an adult store in Salisbury to the tune of $500 per day in January if the establishment does not come into compliance with the city code.

On Dec. 11, the city of Salisbury conducted an inspection of the Red Light District Superstore on Business Route 13 to determine the extent of the establishment’s floor plan dedicated to adult entertainment material. The inspection revealed 25 percent of the usable floor place in the Red Light District Superstore is being used for what the city considers questionable adult entertainment material.

As a result, the city has issued an ultimatum to the store’s owners, demanding one of two actions. Either the Red Light District has to make improvements to the facility to bring it into compliance or file an appeal with the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals. If the required corrections are not made by Jan. 9, the city will issue a municipal infraction, including a fine of $500 a day, until the property is brought into compliance. Mayor Jim Ireton said the city would be firm on its efforts to bring the facility into compliance.

Kim Jung Un had NO military experience whatsoever before Daddy made him a four-star general.
This snot-nosed twerp had never accomplished anything in his life that would even come close to military leadership.
He hadn't even so much as led a Cub Scout troop, coached a sports team, or commanded a military platoon.
So he is made the "Beloved Leader" Of North Korea.

Question Of The Day 1-2-14

How much snow do you predict we will get tonight/tomorrow?

GOP Establishment Gears Up To Destroy Any Chance At Midterm Success In 2014

The establishment GOP in Washington hates the Tea Party and the conservative wing of the party more than they do the Democrats. They will make very clear that instead of riding a conservative wave to a landslide victory in the 2014 midterms, they will do everything in their power to sabotage conservative and Tea Party candidates for their own personal benefit.

Many establishment groups have been vocal about their strategy to attack principled conservatives. Karl Rove’s American Crossroads is “preparing an aggressive effort to groom and support more centrist Republican candidates.” The Chamber of Commerce, who supports illegal and cheap labor and wants to push for amnesty and further corporate welfare, recently devoted “at least 50 million dollars” to stop Tea Party candidates and promote moderate Republicans. Former Republican Rep. Steve LaTourette has started a PAC that has aired aids against the Tea Party in states where 2014 Senate contests will be held. Very few of the Republican commentariat do not demean and berate principled conservatives on a regular basis.

FAR-LEFT MICHAEL MOORE AGREES ‘OBAMACARE IS AWFUL’ – JUST FOR DIFFERENT REASONS THAN MOST PEOPLE

In a scathing op-ed in the New York Times on Tuesday, far-left documentary filmmaker Michael Moore finally admits that “Obamacare is awful.” However, he doesn’t cite the horrendous Healthcare.gov rollout, millions of cancelled health insurance plans or increasing monthly premiums.

The fact that Obamacare just isn’t good enough, he explains, is “the dirty little secret many liberals have avoided saying out loud for fear of aiding the president’s enemies.”

So why does Moore now openly proclaim that Obamacare “awful?”

This call(2 calls) was interesting. Princess Anne and Pocomoke was dispatched for a house fire in Princess Anne. They requested the Allen Fire Department and The Fruitland Fire Department who sent several fire engines. Then they had Allen dispatched for a fire engine to stand by in Princess Anne. A fire officer for Allen knew they didn't have the manpower for another crew so he requested Central to dispatch Station 1. A few minutes went by and they dispatched Station 3 instead knowing that Station 3 Fruitland already had 2 fire engines at the fire. After a time went by they decided to go ahead and alert Station 1 Salisbury for a stand by crew for Princess Anne. Four minutes went by and they had to re-alert Station 1. Nothing out of the paid crew from Station 16. I guess they are too good to go stand by in Princess Anne, but it's funny they want to squirrel all the re-alerts in Salisbury. Central has to re-alert Station 1 a second time and still nothing from the paid crew at Station 16. Then 122(a fire officer from Station 1) says they have the call covered. A few minutes later Central calls 122 and says it's been 11 minutes and no response. At that point they dispatch the volunteers of Station 2. A few minutes later 22C, an acting paid officer from Station 16 comes on the air and says Station 16 has 2 crews and Engine 16 is responding to the Stand By in Princess Anne. After that a fire engine from Station 1 responds to Princess Anne and the paid crew on Engine 16 heads back to their recliners at Station 16. Take a look at the times. Fourteen minutes between dispatches between Station 1 and Station 2. Fourteen minutes and there are 2 paid fire engine crews and a paid assistant chief at Station 16 refusing to take the stand by call. It was also their intent to make the volunteers look bad for scratching on a dispatch. It's interesting how they are allowed to pick and choose their calls. Two paid fire engine crews in Salisbury sitting around in their luxury recliners at the tax payers expense. Two paid fire crews in Salisbury and the only real calls are ambulance calls. Shame on the Salisbury Fire Department, the City of Salisbury and their poor leadership.

Court: State Trooper Can’t Carry Gun While Off-Duty Due To Mental Health Record

Yet officer is allowed to carry while on-duty, granting him special concession he is not afforded as a private citizen

A Pennsylvania court has declared that a state trooper who was previously hospitalized for depression should be banned from possessing firearms while off-duty, but should still be allowed to carry a gun while on-duty, granting him special concession while serving the state which he is not afforded as a private citizen.

The Pennsylvania Superior Court ruled that State Trooper Michael L. Keyes’ involuntary mental health treatment in 2006 bars him from possessing any firearms privately, but he should still be allowed to carry a gun while on official police business, according to Penn Live.

“The dangers inherent in the possession of firearms by the mentally ill are manifest,” Jude Fort Elliott declared. “A present clean bill of health is no guarantee that a relapse is not possible.”

Why Are The Lines So Crazy Right Now In WalMart...

Because many Independence Cards expire today, that's why. Its the new Black Friday.

MSNBC: HARRIS-PERRY AND PANEL RIDICULE MITT ROMNEY'S BLACK GRANDSON

In a nauseating display of mean-spirited ignorance, MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry and her panel of five ridiculed Mitt Romney's black grandchild as something "that's not like the others." The MSNBC segment was a look back at 2013, and for some reason a Romney family photo that shows former Massachusetts governor with a grandchild on each knee was cherry-picked for mockery.

The only apparent reason for the ridicule was purely based on the race of Kieran Romney, the governor's adopted grandchild who happens to be black.

A Letter To The Editor: "Excessive Profits"

Good morning Joe, I would like to tell you about an experience I Had yesterday in buying a replacement element for our oven.

I needed to replace the heating element in my oven and called Coastline Parts here in Salisbury, Gave them the part number and was told that the price was $69.95. He asked me my name and said I could come and pick it up. I thought about it for a few minutes and decided to check Amazon and found the EXACT part # delivered for $19.50. It just arrived by UPS. My point is Joe I really try hard to support local business but in this case his profits were just too excessive, I would have gladly given another $15.00 but $50.00 more is absurd. I believe that some of our locals need to realize that the day of these kind of profits are pretty much gone.

Government Policies Hurt Low-Wage Workers

Fast-food workers across the county have recently held a number of high profile protests to agitate for higher wages. These protests have been accompanied by efforts to increase the wages mandated by state and local minimum wage laws, as well as a renewed push in some states and localities to pass "living wage" laws. President Obama has proposed raising the federal minimum wage to ten dollars an hour. Raising minimum wages by government decree appeals to those who do not understand economics. This appeal is especially strong during times of stagnant wages and increased economic inequality. But raising the minimum wage actually harms those at the bottom of the income ladder. Basic economic theory teaches that when the price of a good increases, demand for that good decreases.

Raising the minimum wage increases the price of labor, thus decreasing the demand for labor. So an increased minimum wage will lead to hiring freezes and layoffs. Unskilled and inexperienced workers are the ones most often deprived of employment opportunities by increases in the minimum wage.

2013 Seeing Dramatic Decline In Police Deaths In The Line Of Duty

This past year the number of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty nationally was down.

And that trend was seen in Maryland as well.

In Maryland one police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty. That's a 75 percent decline from the year before when four died.

Baltimore County Officer Jason Schneider died during a warrant service in Catonsville on August 28.

HARVARD PROF: TEA PARTY NOT GOING ANYWHERE, MORE LIKELY TO WIN

A government and sociology professor at Harvard writes that the Tea Party is more likely than not to "win in the end" in an age when Americans are becoming more removed from Washington and distrusting the federal government and their elected officials.

"Tea Party forces will still win in the end," Theda Skocpol writes, unless moderate Republicans can defeat them. Skocpol concedes that the Tea Party "will triumph just by hanging on long enough" as Americans are getting fed up by "our blatantly manipulated democracy and our permanently hobbled government."

The article, "Why The Tea Party Isn't Going Anywhere," was first published in the journalDemocracy, and later reprinted in The Atlantic.

Question Of The Day 12-31-13

Have you or will you make a New Year's resolution?

Pet Injures Former Mayor In Ariz., Kills Husband

BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. — The former mayor of this city of almost 40,000 was hospitalized and her husband died after the couple's pet dogs attacked them, according to the current mayor.

Former Mayor Diane Vick and her husband, Tom, tried to intervene after one of their larger dogs attacked one of their smaller dogs, but the dogs turned on them and attacked them, Mayor Jack Hakim said. They were flown to a hospital in Las Vegas.

Tom Vick and his wife tried to break up a fight Saturday evening between the family's boxer and cocker spaniel, police said. The boxer attacked both of them.

Tom Vick, 64, who taught social studies at Mohave High School, died of his injuries Sunday, Hakim said. Diane Vick "was pretty well beat up," but Hakim didn't believe her injuries were critical.

Hakim called the incident "pretty devastating."

We're 24 Hours Away

With only 24 hours left in 2013, the biggest topic being discussed at year end is Jim Ireton and Jake Day's plan to sell off the Downtown Parking Lots.

The RFP is now official and the proposed selling prices are just ridiculous.  You are welcome to GO HERE and see just what I'm talking about.

In one breath Jim and Jake want you to believe this will revitalize Downtown, yet they shot themselves in the foot with the Third Friday event becoming so successful.  That's right, the last event was so successful, guess what, people couldn't find parking Downtown.

Please, do tell me what people are going to do when all the parking lots are sold, buildings are now taking up that space and uh oh, wait a minute, where are the people who are living and working in these new structures going to PARK once completed?

I have never seen a more stupid group of people in my life. Two years ago I put up a Post stating Ireton was putting the cart before the horse. They have no answers. It started with the Waste Water Treatment Plant, then the Old Mall, then the new Fire Station 16, then the sale of the old Station 16, now the parking lots. One Good Ol' Boy scam after the other. How's it working for you Mr. & Mrs. Taxpayer?

Oh well, here's the good that will come from all of this. Guess what, there's NOTHING left to sell. The Mayor and Council President have pretty much whore'd themselves out to the point that there's nothing left to give away. Jim Ireton will not run again for Mayor and I truly doubt anyone will attempt to fix another election any time soon. Jake Day may try to run for Mayor, (I sure hope he does) and that would be awesome. Just when I think Salisbury News might run out of material, Idiots like Jim Ireton and Jake Day comes along and secure another 4 years of great material.

The following message is directed to Jake Day. You want to go on Facebook and say things about the "Albero Family", well put on your seat belt in 2014 because I will dedicate the entire year to exposing Jake Day. With all the traffic we get here on Salisbury News, we WILL be the #1 spot on Google whenever you type in Jake Day. Enjoy the ride.
