White House Handling Of Boston Bombing Draws Suspicion

The country is reeling from the latest terrorist attack, which killed three Americans and injured hundreds more at the Boston Marathon on April 15th. Two brothers who became radical Islamists have been implicated; Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, who was killed after an overnight shoot-out with police, and his 19-year old brother Dzhokhar, who was caught shortly after the bombing.

The Obama administration knew ahead of time about the brothers’ ties to radical Islam. Russia warned the U.S. in 2011. The Russian government intercepted a communication between the bombers’ mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaev, and someone who was probably her son Tamerlan discussing “jihad.” The U.S. government added both names to its Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment, or TIDE, database. Later, Tamerlan’s phone number was traced to numbers that came up in two other investigations into terror suspects, according to a Senator who attended classified briefings about the Boston bombings. The FBI interviewed Tamerlan, but cleared him, finding nothing conclusive. Russian officials next tried to get the CIA to look into Tamerlan, sending the CIA a warning letter about him. Apparently their concerns were ignored by Leon Panetta, then head of the CIA and now known for gutting the defense department as Secretary of Defense.

Obama / Boston Update

President Barack Obama says he's confident the government's anti-terror complex did what it was supposed to before the Boston Marathon bombings. But he's asked a group of four inspectors general to launch a 90-day review. They'll look at whether information sharing was adequate. And if there's something the government could have done to prevent the Patriot's Day attack. The review is headed by Charles McCullough, the I.G. of the intelligence community. He'll be joined by the inspectors general of the CIA, Justice and Homeland Security.

New Law In Arizona: Guns Bought In Gov’t Buybacks Will be Sold To The Public

Gun buybacks are essentially like the “Cash for Clunkers” program for guns. People bring in broken, old or sometimes illegal guns that have been used in a crime and they get paid by the government, which then scraps the weapons.
It’s a dumb idea that should be abandoned altogether, but if it is going to be done, Arizona is at least doing it the smart way. Republican Governor Jan Brewer just signed a new law that requires guns recovered in government buyback programs to be auctioned off publicly to federally licensed firearms dealers.

What does that accomplish? Well, hopefully it will pay back some of the cost of the program. If it costs $50,000 to buy the guns, why spend more money to turn them into scrap when they can be sold to licensed dealers to offset the cost of the gun buyback?

The contract comes with two renewal options, each for three years. Regular postal workers under the Federal Employee Health Benefits program will continue with the same coverage.

ILLINOIS LAWMAKER EXPLODES OVER DEMS’ ATTEMPT TO SNEAK SIGNIFICANT AMENDMENT INTO CONCEALED CARRY BILL: ‘KEEP PLAYING GAMES!’

Illinois state Rep. Mike Bost (R-Murphysboro) launched into a fiery tirade on the Illinois House floor after Democratic lawmakers attempted to sneak in what he considered to be a significant floor amendment to a proposed concealed carry bill. Bost’s outburst actually occurred on April 17, but was only lightly covered.

The House was debating the “may issue” proposal in regards to the state’s forthcoming concealed carry law when Bost lost his cool. The proposal would allow sheriffs to decide whether a citizen has a legitimate reason to carry a gun.

“Floor amendments should be some technical small change that we shouldn’t have to worry about like this. But yet you bring a whole bill that has questions whether it is even constitutional,” Bost said. “Folks, the process is really messed up. Quit! This is not the bill that everyone has debated…it is a ploy and once again your side of the aisle keeps trying to make ploys instead of dealing with the real issue. Keep playing games!”

8 Amazing Abandoned Mega Structures

The New South China Mall in Guangdong Province opened in 2005. With 5 million square feet of shopping area, the mall can accommodate 2,350 stores, making it the largest shopping center in the world in terms of leasable space -- more than twice the size of the Mall of America, the biggest shopping center in the United States. At the outdoor plaza, hundreds of palm trees blend in with a replica Arc de Triomphe, a giant Egyptian Sphinx, fountains, and extensive canals with gondolas.

The only problem is that the mall is virtually deserted. Despite the bombastic design and grand plans, only a handful of stores are occupied. Walking among shattered shops, with dusty corridors and escalators covered in soiled sheets, is like a walk through a ghost mall. Rubbish is piled up along the sides, paint is coming off of the walls, and store signs and advertisements have faded. The mall's indoor amusement park staff lay half asleep over counters, or kill time chatting with each other, while the 1,814 foot roller coaster roars above. (Link)

Planned Parenthood CEO Lied About Not Knowing Of Gosnell Horrors

The CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania has been caught lying about whether her abortion business know of the horrors that took place at Kermit Gosnell’s abortion facility in her area. A pro-life blog uncovered the discrepancies today.

Planned Parenthood has already been connected to Kermit Gosnell in one way — via a grisly abortion experiment he conducted on women back in the 1970s. Now a previous denial of the horrors has been exposed.

Is America Nasty And Homophobic?

On Monday, former Washington Wizards center Jason Collins revealed to the world that he is gay, prompting a complete media meltdown. Collins appeared on Good Morning America; he made the cover of Sports Illustrated; he became the lead on Huffington Post. The president of the United States congratulated him at a press conference, and the former president of the United States congratulated him via Twitter. So did the first lady, the commissioner of the National Basketball Association and a bevy of pundits and athletes across the spectrum.
Which leaves one question: What’s the big deal?

Tennis star Martina Navratilova, the best player of her era, came out in 1981. Ellen Degeneres came out on national television in 1997. The president and CEO of the Golden State Warriors, Rick Welts, is openly gay. Top politicians, rock stars, athletes, movie and television stars and business moguls are gay. Gay Americans have been announcing their sexual orientation for decades. Why the hubbub?

Possible Human Trafficking Investigated at Saudi Diplomatic Compound in Virginia

A case of "possible human trafficking" at a Saudi diplomatic compound in Virginia is under investigation, Homeland Security confirmed to News4.

Agents from U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement/Homeland Security Investigations and Fairfax County police were called to a home in the 6000 block of Orris Street in McLean overnight and, in the words of a source familiar with the investigation, "rescued" two women. One woman reportedly tried to flee by squeezing through a gap in the front gate as it was closing.

It's not clear if the women, who sources say are from the Philippines, called investigators to the home themselves or if someone else did.

Sandy Dumped 11 Billion Gallons Of Sewage In Waterways

NEW YORK (AP) — Superstorm Sandy released 11 billion gallons of sewage from East Coast treatment plants into bodies of water from Washington, D.C., to Connecticut.

That's according to a study by the nonprofit science journalism group Climate Central. It says that's equivalent to having Central Park covered 41 feet high with sewage.

Most of the overflow was due to storm-surge flooding that inundated sewage treatment facilities.

The Camp Bastion Cover-Up

Do you remember what happened last year on 9/14? Where are the White House phone calls for the families who continue to grieve? What is being done to prevent another fatal attack like the one on 9/14? And why is the full truth being withheld from the American public?Benghazi isn’t the only bloody disaster being covered up by the Obama administration. As I reported in a series of columns and blog posts last fall, three days after the deadly siege on our consulate in Libya, the Taliban waged an intricately coordinated, brutal attack on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. Two heroic U.S. Marines — Lt. Col. Christopher Raible and Sgt. Bradley Atwell — were killed in the battle. Many surviving Marines have been honored for their brave, quick-thinking actions to save their comrades and civilians caught in the crossfire.

Family members are angry that military brass are still trying to suppress details of the fateful budget and strategic decisions that led to the attack. But they won’t stay silent. “This is political,” one Camp Bastion relative told me this week. “Just like Benghazi, they don’t want people to know.”

In case you were sleeping or had forgotten: The meticulously coordinated siege at Camp Bastion by 15 Taliban infiltrators — dressed in American combat fatigues and armed with assault rifles, rocket-propelled grenades and other weapons — resulted not only in two deaths and nearly a dozen injuries, but also in the most devastating loss of U.S. airpower since Vietnam. Camp Bastion is Britain’s main military base in Afghanistan; it’s adjacent to our Marines’ Camp Leatherneck.

Critics Say Immigration Reform Will Run Up Welfare Costs

A Republican senator warned Tuesday that a bipartisan immigration-reform proposal now under consideration would allow illegal immigrants to take advantage of government welfare benefits much sooner than the 13-year time frame outlined in the legislation.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., said loopholes in the legislation would permit those who came to the U.S. illegally to collect cash assistance, food stamps and health care benefits long before they earn a green card and a pathway to citizenship.

Sessions and other critics of the bill believe it will drive up government spending on social programs. Newly legalized immigrants may not have immediate access to federal benefits, but many states don't stop them from getting cash assistance, health care and other benefits.

Patriot Militia Attacks Government Forces

Police and National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed Sunday by elements of a para-military right wing extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.

Speaking after the clash, Massachusetts Governor Thomas Gage declared that the extremist militia faction has citizens who have links to the radical right wing tax protest movement. Gage blamed the militia for recent incidents of vandalism directed against internal revenue offices.

The governor who described the group’s organizers as “terrorists” , issued an executive order authorizing the summary arrest of any individual who has interfered with the governments efforts to secure law and order. The law enforcement team augmented by elements of the National Guard, were sent to raid a militia arsenal after widespread refusal of right wing extremists to turn over recently outlawed assault weapons. This decision followed a meeting in early July between government and law enforcement which authorized the confiscation of the illegal arms, known as the weapons of choice among criminals and militias.

One government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, pointed out “that none of these people would have been killed had right wing extremist obeyed the law and turned over the weapons voluntarily”.

Heroic College Athlete Who Retired So He Can Donate His Bone Marrow Has Two Liters Removed For Unknown Leukemia Patient

A University of New Hampshire track and field star hailed as a hero after he quit the team so he can donate bone marrow has given two liters of it to a complete stranger.

He said that the choice to donate was a no-brainer, but doing so would mean that the promising shot put, hammer and discus-thrower would have to sit out the rest of the season.

Resume:
Greenwood, DE – The Delaware State Police has arrested three people after the culmination of a month long investigation into drug sales at a local motel.

On Tuesday April 30th, the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and Sussex County Drug Unit concluded a month long investigation into illegal drug activity being conducted by Raymond H. Wood at the Greenwood Inn north of Greenwood. Detectives responded to the motel which is located on Sussex Highway and began surveillance operations on the parking lot. At one point, Wood and two females were observed leaving a room and entered a silver BMW preparing to depart the motel. Troopers and Probation Officers assigned to GTF then pulled into the parking lot behind the vehicle in order to make contact with Wood, who had active warrants out of Maryland for Violation of Probation, when he suddenly accelerated the BMW in reverse, striking one of the State Police vehicles. Detectives were able to take Wood into custody after a brief struggle as well as the two female passengers.

A search warrant was obtained for the room they were seen exiting along with the car. The search revealed a total of 750 bags of heroin, a fully loaded .40 caliber handgun, which was found to be stolen during a burglary in Kent County, over $1,000.00 in suspected drug proceeds, and other drug paraphernalia.

Raymond Wood and Charli Evans, who initially gave a false names, along with Donna Ferrell were all transported back to Troop 4 and charged with the above listed crimes. Wood was later committed to SCI in default of $75,000.00 cash bond while Evans and Ferrell were committed to WCI in default of $46,000.00 and $44,500.00 respectively.

This About Says It All

A person steals guns, (which is against the law), shoots and kill his own mother (which is against the law), then transports the guns, loaded (which is against the law), and brings them on school property (which is against the law). He breaks into the school (which is against the law). Discharges the weapons within city limits (which is against the law) murdering 26 people (which is against the law) and commits suicide (which is against the law).

Government solution...............pass another law.

Retired Corrections Officers: Some Review Protocol Unprecedented

In light of the federal indictment of 13 Baltimore correctional officers, retired corrections officers said Tuesday that reviews of employees and protocol being used are unprecedented.

Retired corrections officers held a press briefing Tuesday on the much maligned correctional officers' bill of rights and, in the process, shed some light on the investigative process.

The framework of the internal probe into corruption at the Baltimore City jail complex seeks to uncover how deep, how widespread and how far up the chain of command is involved. The investigation has the support of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the state's largest labor union.

Change Maryland Chairman Larry Hogan On O'Malley's Response To Prison Scandal

Annapolis - Change Maryland Chairman Larry Hogan released the following statement today upon Gov. Martin O'Malley's return from overseas travel in his first public appearance to address the Baltimore prison scandal.

"Martin O'Malley calls the corruption in his administration 'a very positive development.' This Governor is completely out of touch and his phony positive spin on this disgraceful failure of leadership is completely unacceptable."

Hogan, a former Appointments Secretary under Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich, previously called on the State's corrections department secretary to step down.

"Unlike this Governor, the previous Governor said to government officials, 'don't screw it up.' "Well. Secretary Maynard screwed up. He needs to go," Hogan said.

As Appointments Secretary, Hogan was responsible for placing cabinet secretaries and other senior government officials in key positions in state departments and agencies.

Veteran Prison Psychologist Surprised By Scope Of Corruption At City Detention Center

Even criminal justice professionals say they're surprised at the scope of the corruption at the Baltimore City Detention Center.

The inmate gang leader who's facing federal charges for running a smuggling and sex empire out of the jail pleaded not guilty in federal court yesterday. So did several of the prison guards who prosecutors say he conspired with and had sex with.

Arnett Gaston,Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and expert on prison gangs who told Maryland's Morning News on WBAL that one of the reasons the guards were in bed, literally and figuratively with the prisoners is that the economic class distinction that used to separate guards from inmates has been disappearing over the past few decades.

FBI Report Implicates Saudi Government In 9/11

Contrary to the official narrative, 9/11 was state-sponsored terror. The only question is which state sponsored it.

A 9/11 Commissioner and Co-Chair of the Congressional Inquiry into 9/11 say in sworn declarations that the Saudi government is linked to the 9/11 attacks.

This week, the Miami Herald provided more evidence of a Saudi link:
A Saudi family who “fled” their Sarasota area home weeks before 9/11 had “many connections” to “individuals associated with the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001,” according to newly released FBI records.

One partially declassified document, marked “secret,” lists three of those individuals and ties them to the Venice, Fla., flight school where suicide hijackers Mohamed Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi trained. Accomplice Ziad Jarrah took flying lessons at another school a block away.

Atta and al-Shehhi were at the controls of the jetliners that slammed into the twin towers of New York’s World Trade Center, killing nearly 3,000 people. Jarrah was the hijacker-pilot of United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in a field in rural Pennsylvania.

The names, addresses and dates of birth of the three individuals tied to the flight school were blanked out before the records were released to BrowardBulldog.org amid ongoing Freedom of Information Act litigation.

The information in the documents runs counter to previous FBI statements. It also adds to concerns raised by official investigations but never fully explored, that the full truth about Saudi Arabia and the 9/11 attacks has not yet been told.

DO IT FOR THE CHILDREN

You hear Obama and his liberal brethren constantly invoking “the children” as the reason for anything they want to inflict upon the American people. Obamacare is for the children. Taking away guns is for the children. The $800 billion porkulus program was for the children. We needed to keep teachers in the classroom to educate our children and make them fine productive citizens. The storyline is a load of crap. Most of the billions spent annually “educating” our cherubs is pissed down the drain on massive bureaucracy, gold plated union benefits, and social engineering bullshit. There are 3.7 million teachers and 3.3 million are public school teachers. Among full-time and part-time public school teachers in 2007–08, some 76 percent of public school teachers were female, 44 percent were under age 40, and 52 percent had a master’s or higher degree.

We hear about how overburdened these poor teachers are, but some facts shed some light on that workload. The pupil to teacher ratio in 1970 was 22.3. Today, the pupil to teacher ratio is 15.4. The chart below is adjusted for inflation. In 1970 we were spending $5,000 per child. Today we are spending $13,500 per child. The average class has 30% less students and we are spending 170% more per student than we did in 1970. These facts would lead you to believe we are producing brilliant scholars across the board.

NYT FIRES BACK AT BLOOMBERG: 'ABSURD'

On Tuesday afternoon, New York City Mayor Michael Bloombergcalled the New York Times racist for their failure to cover the killing of Alphonza Bryant, a 17-year-old black teenager shot in the Bronx. “"There was not even a mention of his murder in our paper of record, the New York Times,” said Bloomberg. "'All the news that's fit to print' did not include the murder of 17-year-old Alphonza Bryant. Do you think that if a white, 17-year-old prep student from Manhattan had been murdered, the Times would have ignored it? Me neither. I believe that the life of every 17-year-old and every child and every adult is precious."

Bloomberg also went after the Center for Constitutional Rights and the New York Civil Liberties Union for not commenting on Bryant’s killing. Bloomberg said that Bryant was “shot and killed while standing with friends near his home,” and that he was an accidental victim “of too many guns on our streets … [four days after Bryant’s murder] the paper published another editorial attacking stop, question and frisk.”

Bloomberg was defending his own NYPD stop-and-frisk policy, which has come under heavy fire from the left, especially given the fact that a new bill would restrict officers from using racial descriptions when tracking suspects. Bloomberg said that under the bill, if someone said a “20-something-year-old white man with a blue windbreaker” committed a crime, “the officer under this bill could only use the color of the windbreaker as a lead.”

The History Of Tulipmania

Last week, 376 years ago, the Dutch government gathered to resolve a pressing issue: it's tulip sector was melting down.
If a tulip sector sounds absurd now, you may be surprised to learn it was viewed with equal curiosity and disdain then.

"I don't know what kind of angry spirit was called up from hell," a contemporary wrote in 1648. "Our descendants doubtless will laugh at the human insanity of our age, that in our times the tulip flowers have been so revered."

Dutch tulips were the modern world's first speculative asset to see prices scream higher, then melt down in almost nuclear fashion.

But they weren't the last. And that's why the incident has persisted in modern memory.

Using historian Anne Goldgar's 2007 "Tulipmania" as our guide, we bring you this curious but most instructive story.

BREAKING NEWS: Three More Suspects Found in Boston Bombings

Three more people have been taken into custody in connection to the deadly bombing at the Boston Marathon, the Boston Police Department tweeted today (5/1/2013). The brief statement said more details were forthcoming.

Authorities suspect the bombing was carried out by two brothers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police days after the attack and Dzhokhar was injured and later taken into custody. Three people were killed and another 170 were injured in the April 15 dual bombing near the finish line at the Boston marathon.

News of the additional suspects comes after the FBI said they had expanded their investigation and were interested in learning more about nearly a dozen persons of interest.

DID YOU KNOW ARIZ. GOV. JAN BREWER SIGNED A GUN LAW ON MONDAY?

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona cities and counties that hold community gun buyback events will have to sell the surrendered weapons instead of destroying them under a bill Gov. Jan Brewer signed into law Monday.

The bill was championed by Republicans in the GOP-controlled Legislature who argued that municipalities were skirting a 2010 law that was tightened last year and requires police to sell seized weapons to federally licensed dealers. They argued that destroying property turned over to the government is a waste of taxpayer resources.

Democrats who argued against the bill said it usurps local control and goes against the wishes of people who turn over their unwanted weapons to keep them out of the hands of children or thieves.

OC Wants Dismissal Of ACLU’s Noise Ordinance Lawsuit

OCEAN CITY -- The Town of Ocean City is seeking the dismissal of a federal civil suit levied in April on behalf of a street performer alleging the town’s 30-foot noise ordinance on the Boardwalk is unconstitutional.

On April 10, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed suit in federal court on behalf of violinist William Hassay, Jr. challenging the town’s noise ordinance, specifically recent changes to it, is an attempt to silence musicians. In the suit filed against the Mayor and Council and acting-Police Chief Michael Colbert, the ACLU alleges the enforcement of the town’s 30-foot noise ordinance on the Boardwalk infringes on Hassay’s, and other performers’ fundamental right under the First Amendment to engage freedom of speech and expression in a public forum.

Last year, the Mayor and Council approved an ordinance setting the acceptable limit on noise in any form on the Boardwalk to 30 feet. Essentially, the ordinance was directed at several Boardwalk merchants who habitually play loud music from speakers on their stores, but caught up in the fray were the numerous Boardwalk street performers and musicians whose music often extends beyond the set 30-foot limit.

Weaponized America: Sturm, Ruger Backlog Doubles; Gun Production, Shipments Surge

Whether it is due to the recent governmental attempt to enforce assorted gun controlling measures in the aftermath of the Newtown, CT shooting, or, merely driven by the same catalyst that saw a surge in gun sales four years ago, namely the presidential election, one thing is certain: America is weaponizing itself at an unheard of pace, with both Sturm, Ruger shipments and units produced surpassing 500,000 each in one quarter for the first time in history.

$1 Abortion Premium

Obama Admin Finalizes Rules: $1 Abortions in ObamaCare
It’s official. The concern pro-life organizations had about the ObamaCare legislation funding abortions has been confirmed, as the Obama administration has issued the final rules on abortion funding governing the controversial health care law.
Nestled within the “individual mandate” in the Obamacare act — that portion of the Act requiring every American to purchase government — approved insurance or pay a penalty — is an “abortion premium mandate.” This mandate requires all persons enrolled in insurance plans that include elective abortion coverage to pay a separate premium from their own pockets to fund abortion. As a result, many pro-life Americans will have to decide between a plan that violates their consciences by funding abortion, or a plan that may not meet their health needs.

Maryland Owes Feds $10.9 Million For Medicaid Problems

The federal government has told Maryland to refund $10.9 million in improperly claimed Medicaid payments made to providers of home care to seniors.

An audit by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Inspector General shows 20 percent of a sample of 100 reviewed cases should not have been eligible for payment under the taxpayer-funded federal program that provides health care for low-income Americans. Those cases include personal care aides who weren't qualified to perform services, unapproved or missing care plans and billing for services that should not have been authorized.

The audit covered $67.2 million in payments made between July 2008 and June 2010, 16 percent of which the government now wants back.
