Fox News Brings Back Judge Napolitano, Who Still Stands By Obama Wiretapping Claim
“And the sources stand by it.”
Judge Andrew Napolitano made his first appearance on Fox News Wednesday since making the claim that President Obama surveilled Trump Tower during the 2016 election nearly two weeks ago.
At his beginning of his latest appearance, host Bill Hemmer brought up the suspension, yet Napolitano said he still stands by claim.
“Yes, I do” stand by the initial claim, Napolitano stated. “And the sources stand by it.”
“The American public needs to know more about this rather than less because a lot of the government’s surveillance authorities will expire in the fall, and there will be a great debate about how much authority we want the government to have to surveil us.”
Napolitano wrote in a column March 16, “Sources have told me that the British foreign surveillance service, the Government Communications Headquarters, known as GCHQ, most likely provided Obama with transcripts of Trump’s calls.”
Fox anchor Shepard Smith later refuted the judge’s claim.

Transgender 'Women' Are Oppressed Because Pussy Hats Are 'Genital-Based'
Pussy hats are sexist.
Pussy hats, in case you've been living under a rock, are those pink knit caps with cat ears. Feminists wear them to equality marches to show their support for women's rights.
But now a critic has come along to say that those hats are actually offensive to transgenders because they are “reproductive system-focused" (which is horrible because men who dress as women don't have those parts and, well, that's just offensive).
Taylor Griggs writes in the Daily Emerald, the school paper at the University of Oregon, that "The reclamation of sexual objectification and historically objectifying words is a cisgender white woman’s game," whatever that means.
And she quotes someone named Marie Solis, who wrote a piece titled, How the Women's March's 'genital-based' feminism isolated the transgender community. In the piece, Solis said that "pussy hats set the tone for a march that would focus acutely on genitalia at the expense of the transgender community. Signs like ‘Pussy power,’ ‘Viva la vulva’ and ‘Pussy grabs back’ all sent a clear and oppressive message to trans women, especially: having a vagina is essential for womanhood."
Yes, the feminist is objecting to the use of pussy hats for the poor "women" who don't have, well, those.

Ann Coulter: A Health Care Plan so Simple, Even a Republican Can Understand!
It’s always impossible to repeal laws that require Ann to pay for greedy people, because the greedy run out on the streets wailing that the Republicans are murdering them.
Obamacare is uniquely awful because the free stuff isn’t paid for through income taxes: It’s paid for through MY health insurance premiums. This is unfortunate because I wanted to buy health insurance.
Perhaps you’re not aware — SINCE YOU EXEMPTED YOURSELVES FROM OBAMACARE, CONGRESS — but buying or selling health insurance is illegal in America.
Right now, there’s no free market because insurance is insanely regulated not only by Obamacare, but also by the most corrupt organizations in America: state insurance commissions. (I’m talking to you, New York!)
Federal and state laws make it illegal to sell health insurance that doesn’t cover a laughable array of supposedly vital services based on bureaucrats’ medical opinions of which providers have the best lobbyists.
As a result, it’s illegal to sell health insurance that covers any of the medical problems I’d like to insure against. Why can’t the GOP keep Obamacare for the greedy — but make it legal for Ann to buy health insurance?
This is how it works today:

Attorney General Sessions Announces Expansion and Modernization of Program to Deport Criminal Aliens Housed in Federal Correctional Facilities
Attorney General Jeff Sessions today announced the expansion and modernization of the Department’s Institutional Hearing Program (IHP).
The IHP identifies removable criminal aliens who are inmates in federal correctional facilities, provides in-person and video teleconference (VTC) immigration removal proceedings, and removes the alien upon completion of sentence, rather than releasing the alien to an ICE detention facility or into the community for adjudication of status. Bringing an Immigration Judge to the inmate for a determination of removability, rather than vice versa, saves time and resources and speeds hearings.
The program is coordinated by the Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“We owe it to the American people to ensure that illegal aliens who have been convicted of crimes and are serving time in our federal prisons are expeditiously removed from our country as the law requires,” said Attorney General Sessions. “This expansion and modernization of the Institutional Hearing Program gives us the tools to continue making Americans safe again in their communities.”
Liberal Professors Trying to Suppress Scholarly Evidence of Voter Fraud in 2016 Election
A university study appearing to corroborate President Donald Trump's claim that non-citizens voted in the 2016 election is provoking backlash from a group of political scientists who want to discredit both that study and others with similar findings.
The study by Old Dominion University political science professor Jesse Richman and three of his colleagues estimated that millions of non-citizens could have registered to vote in U.S. elections. 90 political scientists signed a letter discrediting that study, according to the Washington Times.
"The scholarly political science community has generally rejected the findings in the Richman et al. study and we believe it should not be cited or used in any debate over fraudulent voting," the letter reads.

OH NO! Illegal Immigrants Are Avoiding Free School Lunches Because They Fear Deportation
Illegal immigrants in Connecticut say they are now scared to sign their children up for free or reduced-priced school lunches because they believe doing so will run the risk of deportation.
Illegal immigrant parents have been calling the Danbury school district offices to ask if federal immigration officials can gain access to the forms they must complete to access taxpayer-funded free lunches or lunch discounts.
District employees say “hundreds” of illegal immigrant parents have expressed concerns in recent months. Most are scared their immigration status could be exposed because of their participation in lunch programs. A few have gone so far as to consider pulling their kids out of school.

Matt Drudge: "Rand Paul Is America's Best Senator"
Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge does not personally tweet too often, so when he does, it is either when something has infuriated him or, more rarely, when he has words of affirmation. Today it was the latter, when Drudge praised Senator Rand Paul, tweeting that he had an "Intriguing lunch in hill office of America's best senator, Rand Paul. He's bold, brave and has somehow kept his heart in such a corrupt city."
While according to many, Drudge was a driving force behind the Trump election, Drudge has been very outspoken recently about his displeasure with the GOP.

Double Trouble: USAF Investigates the Same Colonel... Twice!
You can't be tried for the same crime twice -- except, apparently, in the U.S. Air Force. There, a colonel with a sterling record is being hauled back into the spotlight for a controversy that was resolved more than two years ago. The case, which dates all the way back to 2013 when Colonel Michael Madrid was mentoring a troubled airman, was investigated and resolved. That is, until a new commander arrived on the scene. For reasons that defy logic, Major General John McCoy dusted off the old file and -- without any new evidence -- issued a Letter of Admonishment.
Although Madrid was never outspoken about his Christianity, he is clearly being targeted for it -- first by the young airman, who identifies as gay, and now by his commander. During a court-martialing for multiple offenses, the airman under Madrid's care accused his mentor of making offensive comments about homosexuality. "Colonel Madrid submitted to an extensive military investigation, and the Air Force cleared him," said Mike Berry of First Liberty Institute, which is representing the colonel. "Major General McCoy has no right to ignore the rule of law and arbitrarily decide, more than two years later... that he can punish Colonel Madrid." Obviously, Berry and his staff are concerned that the general "judged and punished Madrid -- a decorated Air Force officer -- because he became aware of Colonel Madrid's traditional religious views. If so," Berry points out, "that not only harms the military, but it's illegal."
As anyone who's served in the military knows, this isn't just a letter that sits in a file. It could literally mean the death of a service member's career or -- at the very least -- the end of his advancement. "I feel like I've been singled out because of my faith," Madrid told Breitbart. "Now I'm afraid if I say anything about even being a Christian, I'll step on a landmine that could blow up my career."

Plea Deals Being Negotiated With Indicted City Officers.
The seven city cops charged in that federal corruption case may be working out deals with prosecutors.
A letter was sent to the federal judge from the U.S. Attorney's Office this week giving an update.
The office said in the letter that it has been working with defense attorneys on possible plea deals. And that has apparently been in the works about four days after the seven were arrested.

Planned Parenthood's Killer Workout
No one has done a better job persuading people to defund Planned Parenthood than, well, Planned Parenthood. In video after undercover video, the organization has been its own worst enemy in the fight for taxpayer dollars. Out of their own mouths, they've let Americans into a dark world where killing is currency and empires are built on the backs of innocent children. One after another, the tapes sound like something out of a horror movie. If only they were. Instead, the gory trade -- often joked about by the employees involved -- is putting an exclamation point on taxpayers' insistence that Congress defund Cecile Richards's group.
Today, those voices were even more adamant after the release of the 13th sickening conversation with a Planned Parenthood staffer. With shocking nonchalance, the star of the Center for Medical Progress's latest show sips wine and talks about how routinely her Arizona clinics break the law by performing abortions at 24 weeks. As casually as if she were talking about the weather, Dr. DeShawn Taylor explains how she often delivers intact babies -- as late as six months -- to harvest high-quality "hearts, lungs, livers, and brains." Investigators for the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) pose as buyers, whose frank questions lead to stomach-turning answers from a group raking in $550 million tax dollars a year. In one particularly nauseating part, the Planned Parenthood doctor explains that abortion is such a workout that she had to get a gym membership. "My biceps appreciate when the dig[oxin] works," to kill the fetus before the procedure. "I remember when I was a [Family Planning] Fellow and I was training, I was like, Oh, I have to hit the gym for this," Taylor says, describing the force she feels in her biceps when she dismembers a baby.

Governor Larry Hogan and Governor John Carney Continue Fight Against Artificial Island Cost Allocation, Unfair Rate Hikes
Maryland, Delaware Governors Call on PJM to Support Request for Rehearing
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today released a joint letter with Delaware Governor John Carney to the Chair of PJM Interconnection’s Board of Managers in response to new information that Artificial Island’s transmission line extension project will still unfairly allocate the majority of the project costs, totaling approximately $250 million, to Delmarva Peninsula ratepayers.
“Since the beginning of this process, our administration has expressed our opposition, frustration, and disappointment about the burdensome costs associated with this project,” said Governor Hogan. “Delmarva Peninsula taxpayers should not have to disproportionately pay hundreds of millions of dollars in rate increases, especially given the majority of the benefits will go to other states.”
In June 2016, Governor Hogan and former Governor Jack Markell requested that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) reconsider their approval for a cost allocation method that would have required residents in Maryland and Delaware to pay nearly 90 percent of the costs, or about $350 million. Subsequently, the respective public service commissions for Maryland and Delaware requested a rehearing with FERC to modify the cost allocation. In August 2016, PJM temporarily halted the project for further analysis and is slated to make a final decision in early April that will likely not include any changes to costs for Delmarva residents and businesses. As such, Governor Hogan and Governor Carney are calling on PJM directly to support their request for a rehearing with FERC.
“This is a bad deal for electric ratepayers in Delaware and across Delmarva,” said Governor Carney. “I’m proud to stand with Governor Hogan to oppose the current cost allocation for this project, which would unfairly raise costs for businesses and families in Delaware and across our region. We will continue to work with the Public Service Commission, Delaware’s Public Advocate, members of the General Assembly and our congressional delegation to protect Delmarva ratepayers.”

Is health care a right or a good?
The political fiasco that unfolded last week as President Trump and the Republican House leadership failed to pass legislation repealing the Affordable Care Act, commonly called ObamaCare, is attributable as much to the failure of politics as it is to the failure of politicians to understand the constitutional role of the federal government.
Republicans could not muster a majority in the House, which they control, because a determined small group of them want to remove the federal government from the regulation of health care and believe that the replacement for ObamaCare that House leaders have offered would keep too much of it in place. The president and his allies have argued that their bill would invalidate enough of ObamaCare to return free choices to health care and to fulfill their campaign promises. Neither side has prevailed.
Here is the back story.
When Congress passed ObamaCare in 2010, it did so without a single Republican vote. The premise underlying the highly partisan 2,700-page legislation is that health care is a right belonging to everyone in America and the federal government has a constitutional duty to provide it.

An Angry Freedom Caucus Responds To Trump's 2018 Threat
Update: Idaho Congressman Raul Labrador has just chimed in with his own tweet advising Trump to "remember who your real friends are...we're trying to help you succeed."
After Trump drew 'first blood' this morning with a tweet threatening to fight Freedom Caucus members in the 2018 mid-term elections, a pair of House representatives have fired back with aggressive tweets of their own implying that Trump's healthcare plan was evidence that he had "succumb to the D.C. Establishment."
"It didn't take long for the swamp to drain @realDonaldTrump. No shame, Mr. President. Almost everyone succumbs to the D.C. Establishment."
".@realDonaldTrump it's a swamp not a hot tub. We both came here to drain it. #SwampCare polls 17%. Sad!"

Alabama man kills home invader: 'I hate that boy dead, but I don't hate I shot him'
For 21 years, John Croft lived in his Alabama home virtually problem-free until last summer.
“I’ve been a prisoner in my house,” he said.
Croft, who is 79, says the burglaries began last June. Since then, he says his Center Point house has been broken into 13 times.
The most recent case came around 1:15 Wednesday morning.
“When I heard the noise, that's when they opened the window from the basement coming to the level where the bedrooms are,” he recalled.
Jefferson County deputies say there were two men inside. Another, driving the getaway car, waited outside.

Liberal professors are blackballing studies confirming Trump’s claim of voter fraud
More than 90 political scientists have signed an open letter calling for the blacklisting of studies done by Virginia professors who estimated that thousands, and perhaps millions, of non-citizens register to vote and vote illegally in U.S. elections.
Political science professor Jesse Richman of Old Dominion University in Norfolk is one of three academics who have produced research on non-citizen voting. The research has irked liberal professors who contend that their surveys show that “zero” of some 20 million non-citizens vote in the U.S.
The anti-Richman study professors circulated an open letter that states: “The scholarly political science community has generally rejected the findings in the Richman et al. study and we believe it should not be cited or used in any debate over fraudulent voting.”
Mr. Richman discussed the “open letter” in his ODU blog entry, titled “Why I would sign the ‘open letter’ if it were true.”
“I’m not signing it because it contains several critical distortions and mistakes,” Mr. Richman wrote.

2013: Schumer Argued Against ‘Obstruction’ of Nominees ‘No Matter Who’s in Power’
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who is leading a filibuster against Judge Neil Gorsuch, called a press conference Wednesday to further his and his fellow Democrat senators’ commitment to blocking President Donald Trump’s SCOTUS nominee.
However, during a 2013 press conference, Schumer took on a different perspective and heartily spoke against the very conduct he and his fellow Democat lawmakers are engaged in, saying Democrats prefer “up-or-down” votes over obstruction, “no matter who’s in power.”
At the time, he stated,”We much prefer the risk of up-or-down votes in majority rule, than the risk of continued total obstruction. That is the bottom line, no matter who’s in power.”
Also on Wednesday, Sen. Ted Cruz said, “The notion of filibustering federal judges” was largely invented by Schumer.

Police in suburban Philadelphia say a 19-year-old man is charged with assaulting nine women, and raping at least six, starting when he was 16.
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan says DeJohn Lee has been in custody since early January, when one of his accusers saw him in a grocery store and called police.
The accuser was employed at the time in a store in nearby Eddystone, Pennsylvania, that Lee had patronized, according to WPVI-TV.
Whelan says nine women were attacked separately, from 2014 to early 2017.
Lee faces multiple counts of rape, attempted murder, aggravated assault and related offenses.
Whelan said that Lee has confessed to all of the crimes of which he has been charged.
Police say Lee recently told them he had many more victims, and Whelan is urging them to come forward.

Miller: Immigration Bill Won't Pass Senate
Senate President Mike Miller told reporters today that a bill that restricts how much assistance local police can give federal immigration agents will not make it out of the Senate in its current form.
The “Maryland Trust Act” was approved last week by the House of Delegates.
“In terms of hampering law enforcement, in terms of hampering the judicial system, Maryland is not going to become a sanctuary state,” Miller said today. “The bill as it passed the House is not going to pass the Senate.”
Miller said it is up to the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee to decide whether to change this bill.
The chairman of the committee, Sen. Bobby Zirkin says the Senators on the committee have concerns about the bill, and the panel may consider amendments. However he said a vote is not scheduled.

State Department Staffer Caught Spying for China
Staffer served under Clinton, Bush and Obama
A State Department employee with top secret clearance took payments to spy for China for the last five years, according to Justice Department officials.
The staffer, Candace Claiborne, is being charged with “obstructing an official proceeding and making false statements to the FBI, both felony offenses, for allegedly concealing numerous contacts that she had over a period of years with foreign intelligence agents,” said a Justice Department memo.
Claiborne is accused of repeatedly contacting two Chinese intelligence agents, who provided her with gifts and money, including “cash wired to Claiborne’s USAA account, an Apple iPhone and laptop, Chinese New Year’s gifts, meals, international travel and vacations, tuition at a Chinese fashion school, a fully furnished apartment, and a monthly stipend,” the press release said.

Governor Larry Hogan Signs Emergency Legislation Creating Regional WMATA Compact
Joins Virginia, D.C. to Establish Washington Metrorail Safety Commission
ANNAPOLIS, MD - Governor Larry Hogan today signed emergency legislation creating a compact between Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. to create a new safety oversight commission for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The governor was joined by Senate President Thomas V. “Mike” Miller, House Speaker Mike Busch, and Montgomery County legislators Senator Brian Feldman, Senator Cheryl Kagan, Delegate Kumar Barve, and Delegate Alfred Carr.
“Collaboration between Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. is crucial to ensure the safety and security of WMATA,” said Governor Hogan. “I would like to thank Governor McAuliffe and Mayor Bowser for their partnership in an oversight commission that will help make sure that millions of Metro riders have access to a world-class public transportation system.”
The legislation, which was filed as an emergency Maryland Department of Transportation departmental bill, officially establishes the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission and the Metrorail Safety Commission Interstate Compact granting the Commission specified safety, regulatory, and enforcement authority over the WMATA system.
The creation of the compact is contingent upon passage of identical legislation in Virginia and the District of Columbia. The Washington, D.C. City Council passed the legislation in December 2016 and the Virginia General Assembly passed it in March 2017.

Prosecutors: Teens charged with rape of Rockville student plotted encounter
ROCKVILLE, Md. — Two teens charged with rape in the sexual assault of a Rockville High student exchanged messages plotting a sexual encounter involving the girl and both boys, Montgomery County prosecutors said in court on Thursday.
The new details shared during a bond review hearing for the younger boy counter claims from defense attorneys that the 14-year-old girl consented to the sexual activity. The girl told police the two boys took turns holding her down as they raped and sodomized her in a school bathroom. She said she told them repeatedly to stop.
Prosecutors said that they have text messages between Jose Montano, 17, and Henry Sanchez, 18, planning for Montano to convince the girl to have sex with him in a school bathroom. The plan was then for Sanchez to interrupt and to threaten to tell a teacher if Montano and the girl didn’t let him take part.
Defense attorneys for Montano said that the encounter between Montano and the girl was consensual and that the two teens arranged via text message to meet in the bathroom. The girl planned to skip gym class to have sex with Montano, they said.

When you make a movie about Scientology . . . Louis Theroux's church adventures
On a sunny afternoon in Hollywood, three figures strolled through a residential neighborhood just south of Sunset Boulevard. As they paused to chat, a stranger clad in black and sporting a walkie-talkie made a beeline for them on a bicycle.
“Hello,” he said. “Do you need help with anything today?” Fresh faced and exceedingly polite, he focused his attention on one member of the trio, a tall and bespectacled Brit in his 40s. “No, we’re just walking around.”
“If you need anything,” the young man said, holding out his hand expectantly, “my name’s Alex.”
“I’m Louis,” answered the Brit, warily returning the handshake. Seemingly satisfied, Alex smiled, remounted his bike and rode off down the sidewalk without bothering to address the man’s companions.

'Cards Against Humanity' Creator Vows To Buy And Publish Congress's Internet History
Many Americans are understandably upset that state representatives voted against net neutrality, effectively allowing Internet Service Providers (like Time Warner Cable, Comcast, etc.) to sell our private data off to whichever company wants to buy it.
Adding insult to injury is just how little some of the representatives had donated to them from the ISPs to fork over our personal data. The Verge posted a handy-dandy list of all 265 representatives and the amount of money they sold away our private information to corporations for. You can check it out here.
People were alarmed that the bill would pass, like "Cards Against Humanity" creator Max Temkin.

Dining This Week In Ocean City
While there may only be one week left, we went to the Globe Theater in Berlin Tuesday night where they served meatloaf, mashed potatoes and broccoli for only $5.00!
Wednesday for lunch we headed over to Sunset Grill in West Ocean City where they served a really enjoyable chicken breast sandwich and or a fried fish sandwich for only $1.99 each!
Wednesday evening we went to BJ's on the Bay and enjoyed their stuffed Flounder for only $12.00.
Winter months in Ocean City are always great, food wise. The season is about to kick in so these specials will be limited. I recommend you go to each restaurant website to see if they're still holding these specials. One thing is for sure, it's well worth the trip into Ocean City.
There's a couple drawbacks at BJ's. For the first time they stated you had to order a drink with your meal. We will not return because of that alone. The other drawback is that they always have a band playing and the music is way too loud. You simply cannot hear the person sitting next to you without literally yelling. Not good at dinner time.
8th Grader Brings Home Vocabulary Test With Anti-Trump Question On It- RAGE Ensues!
Well well well…further LIBERAL indoctrination being passed down from teacher to student. Conservative parents have been sick of this kind of garbage for long time now.
Progressive teachers thinking they can mingle their political views in with their lessons for their students are about to get a rude awakening, if they don’t cut this kind of garbage out.
For now many parents have gotten used to the idea of hearing their kids talk about being forced to feel like they have to nod along with lectures on the topic of global warming, social justice, illegal immigration, and many other liberal topics that are nothing but nonsense…even if the course has nothing to do with politics.
Of course when the students are college students, it’s still wrong…but after the last few years, it’s to be expected at least…
HOWEVER…this story isn’t about college students, this is about middle school students.
Rebecca Gomez’s eighth-grade daughter brought home a vocabulary quiz from Timber Ridge Middle School last week, which isn’t out of the ordinary — that is, until Mom got an eyeful of a few fill-in-the-blank questions:
It was difficult for me to [blank] my feeling when I learned that Donald J. Trump had been voted in as our 45th President.
After reading about President Trump’s immigration ban, I did not realize how [blank] the law can be.
To say Gomez was livid over the questions from the Plainfield, Illinois, school is an understatement.

Md. School District Gets Hundreds of Hate Calls Following Rape Allegation
BALTIMORE (WJZ)– A Maryland district says it’s received hundreds of hate mail and calls after a student says she was raped by an illegal immigrant inside her school.
The school board held its first meeting since this rape case captured national attention and they were on the defensive after receiving hate mail and calls from across the country.
The system said its offices have been flooded with hate mail and calls, some laced with profanities.
“To let these **** ************* in. You are cursed. You get them the **** out of this school.”
“You need to a better job protecting Americans. For god’s sake, you don’t even have someone answering the phone who speaks English.”

This Chinese Stock Soared 4,500% on Nasdaq and No One Knows Why
Investors who put money into U.S. index funds usually aren’t looking for surprises. Those who bought into the Russell 2000 recently got one anyway: a little-known Chinese stock that went crazy for no apparent reason.
Shares of Wins Finance Holdings Inc., a company that guarantees loans for small businesses in China and leases equipment to them, have soared as much as 4,555 percent since debuting on Nasdaq in 2015. The firm’s market value surpassed $9 billion in February, about four times as much as LendingClub Corp., an online lender with 50 times the revenue. Even Wins said in a release that it had no idea what drove the surge in its stock, which boasts the best performance in the Nasdaq Composite Index over the past 12 months.

Wicomico Co slowest 20% income growth since 1990
As the Rust Belt stagnated, coastal metropolises thrived. As Appalachia sputtered, shale country boomed. As Southern manufacturing centers shut their doors, neighboring research hubs opened theirs.
These are just a few of the trends that have played out in regional economies across the US over the past 25 years. This period includes the booms of the late 1990s and mid 2000s, a couple of mild recessions, one huge one, and the slow but steady growth of today. Nationally, workers’ average annual earnings rose by about 24% from 1990 to 2015, or from $42,800 to $52,300 in inflation-adjusted dollars. That works out to a 1.3% real annual raise every year—don’t spend it all at once!
But, as you see in the map above, the national story belies the diverse experiences of most Americans. Only about a quarter of counties saw average wages grow within 5% of the national average. Some surged, while others sputtered—or even slipped into decline. (Employment income includes salary, as well as bonuses and non-cash compensation like meals. Insurance is excluded.)

The Olympics' TV Time-Delay Is Going Away, NBC Says
When it broadcasts the Winter Olympics from South Korea next year, NBC will do so with live programming across the U.S., bringing an end to the network's decades-old strategy of delaying coverage according to U.S. time zones.
"That means social media won't be ahead of the action in any time zone, and as a result, none of our viewers will have to wait for anything," said Jim Bell, president ofNBC Olympics Production & Programming. "This is exciting news for the audience, the advertisers, and our affiliates alike."
NBC's move effectively shifts the core of a strategy it adopted for online audiences — to provide immediate access to Olympic events — to its main platform. Live coverage from Pyeongchang will air during the day, in prime time and late at night, the network says.

Sanctuary Churches: Who Controls The Story?
Code Switch's Adrian Florido has been covering the new sanctuary movement for us. For this episode, he spoke to key players to understand why hundreds of churches are ready to start a public fight with the current administration to prevent deportations of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.
He also looks at why the movement has to wrestle with important questions: Who controls the story and the message? How much say does an individual or family have in how a sanctuary church leverages their story?
Adrian also has a candid talk with Jeanette Vizguerra, who is living inside a Colorado church, as she fights a legal deportation battle. It could be years before she is able to step outside the church. As Adrian reports, the decisions, intentions and relationships complicate the work of sanctuary churches.

Stabenow Called Out on Hypocrisy of Filibustering Gorsuch
MSNBC's Chuck Todd called out Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.) for Senate Democrats' hypocrisy in filibustering Judge Neil Gorsuch's Supreme Court nomination.
Stabenow has said she will not vote for Gorsuch's nomination or for cloture, which would allow for a full vote in the Senate. Stabenow also insisted that Gorsuch get at least 60 votes to be confirmed.
Todd said he couldn't understand Stabenow's refusal to allow a vote for cloture. Stabenow pointed to Senate Republicans not considering Judge Merrick Garland's nomination to the bench, leading Todd to ask if that justified the actions of Senate Democrats.
"What I'm saying is, do two wrongs make a right here? Or three wrongs? Or four wrongs? Or five wrongs?" Todd asked.
"It's not about wrong or right," Stabenow said. "Chuck, it's not about wrong or right."

EPA Decides Not To Ban A Pesticide, Despite Its Own Evidence Of Risk
The EPA says it's reversing course and keeping this pesticide on the market.
That's despite the agency's earlier conclusion, reached during the Obama administration, that chlorpyrifos could pose risks to consumers. It's a signal that toxic chemicals will face less restrictive regulation by the Trump Administration.
In its decision, the EPA didn't exactly repudiate its earlier scientific findings. But it did say that there's still a lot of scientific uncertainty about the risks of chlorpyrifos, and it said that because of that uncertainty, the court had no right to set a firm deadline for a decision.
The EPA says it will keep studying the chemical.
Patti Goldman, from the environmental group Earth Justice, calls the decision "unconscionable," and says that her group will fight it in court.
Our original story continues.
A federal court has ordered him to decide by midnight on Friday whether to ban a pesticide called chlorpyrifos. The Obama administration proposed this ban back in 2015.

How North Korea could kill 90 percent of Americans
BY R. JAMES WOOLSEY AND VINCENT PRY
The mainstream media, and some officials who should know better, continue to allege North Korea does not yet have capability to deliver on its repeated threats to strike the U.S. with nuclear weapons. False reassurance is given to the American people that North Korea has not “demonstrated” that it can miniaturize a nuclear warhead small enough for missile delivery, or build a reentry vehicle for an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of penetrating the atmosphere to blast a U.S. city.
Yet any nation that has built nuclear weapons and long-range missiles, as North Korea has done, can easily overcome the relatively much simpler technological challenge of warhead miniaturization and reentry vehicle design.
Indeed, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un has been photographed posing with what appears to be a genuine miniaturized nuclear warhead for ballistic missiles. And North Korea does, in fact, have two classes of ICBMs—the road mobile KN-08 and KN-14—which both appear to be equipped with sophisticated reentry vehicles.
Even if it were true that North Korea does not yet have nuclear missiles, their “Dear Leader” could deliver an atomic bomb hidden on a freighter sailing under a false flag into a U.S. port, or hire their terrorist allies to fly a nuclear 9/11 suicide mission across the unprotected border with Mexico. In this scenario, populous port cities like New York, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, or big cities nearest the Mexican border, like San Diego, Phoenix, Austin, and Santa Fe, would be most at risk.
A Hiroshima-type A-Bomb having a yield of 10-kilotons detonated in a major city would cause about 200,000 casualties from blast, thermal, and radiation effects. North Korea has tested a nuclear weapon having an estimated yield of 20-30 kilotons. The Defense Department assesses that on January 6, 2016, North Korea may have tested components of an H-Bomb. H-Bombs are much more powerful than A-Bombs and can produce much greater casualties—millions of casualties in a big city like New York.

AT&T to build nationwide Network for 1st Responders
$6.5 billion contract awarded in wake of 9/11 communications problems
Sixteen years after communications breakdowns on 9/11 hobbled police and firefighters at Ground Zero, the U.S. government awarded $6.5 billion and valuable airwaves to AT&T Inc. to start building a nationwide broadband network for first responders.
The idea was born out of the 9/11 Commission, and it is the only of the bipartisan report’s recommendations yet to be implemented. Congress set aside federal funds for the project, called FirstNet, but it has been dogged by delays and false starts.
Executives at AT&T T, -0.07% , the nation’s second-largest wireless provider by subscribers, said they would spend about $40 billion over the 25-year contract to build and maintain the network, which AT&T says will create 10,000 jobs.
The decision is a major step forward for FirstNet, though there are still questions about whether it will get built as envisioned. Several states are debating whether to join the federal project or build their own public safety networks.

U.S. Census To Leave Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity Questions Off New Surveys
Publishers Notes: YEAH, because they know the mass majority of Americans would tell the government to go to hell.
The U.S. Census Bureau published a list on Tuesday of more than 50 planned topics of questions for the 2020 Census and the American Community Survey.
Hours after it first appeared online, one of those topics was removed from a revised report: sexual orientation and gender identity, which was listed as "proposed" on the second-to-last page of the original report.
In a written statement, a Census Bureau spokesperson says the report "inadvertently listed sexual orientation and gender identity as a proposed topic in the appendix. This topic is not being proposed to Congress for the 2020 Census or American Community Survey."
