PHOENIX -- The deportation of an immigrant mother in Phoenix who was granted leniency during the Obama administration provides an early example of how President Trump plans to carry through on his vow to crack down on illegal immigration.
The case of Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos became a rallying cry Thursday for immigrant groups who believe Mr. Trump’s approach to immigration unfairly tears apart families. Her arrest prompted a vocal demonstration in downtown Phoenix as protesters blocked enforcement vans from leaving a U.S. immigration office. Seven people were arrested.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to CBS News that Garcia was deported to Mexico Thursday morning. Garcia was the subject of a court-issued removal order that became final in July 2013 after going through multiple levels of the immigration court system, ICE said in a statement.

In race to run the Democratic Party, common sense has already lost
The Democratic Party isn’t interested in an electoral autopsy. The slow-motion disaster of its search for a new Democratic National Committee chair proves it.
Unlike the Republicans, who commissioned one quickly after Mitt Romney’s defeat to President Barack Obama in 2012, many on the left have coped with Hillary Clinton’s stunning loss by sticking their heads deeper into the sand of California’s lovely beaches.
Besides, as far as Dems are concerned, who needs a lessons-learned study: Hillary won the popular vote, and only because of the archaic, backward and (sure, why not?) racist Electoral College did Donald Trump steal the presidency from a woman who deserved it more than anybody else. To many Democrats, winning the popular vote was clearly a validation of their party’s platform, if not a mandate to move further left.
Just look at the slate of candidates for DNC chair.
Among the eight official candidates, only two have a serious chance of winning: Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison and President Barack Obama’s former secretary of labor, Thomas Perez.

Report: Saudis Paying to Get Vets to Oppose 9/11 Law
Saudi Arabia is paying a public relations firm to convince American veterans to go to Washington, D.C. and tell members of Congress they oppose a new federal law that allows civil lawsuits against state sponsors of terrorism, The Daily Caller reports.
And the Saudi government appears to be paying for luxurious trips to Capitol Hill for the vets, including stays at the $500-per-night Trump International Hotel, the website claims.
The Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) allows Americans to file civil claims against foreign governments. The court cases are permitted for terrorist attacks taking place in the U.S. and carried out by designated foreign terrorist groups. It was enacted to help families of victims in the 9/11 attack.
Republican senators John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina have proposed an amendment that would allow Americans to sue governments for any attacks only if the nations "knowingly engage with a terrorist organization directly or indirectly, including financing," The Daily Caller says.
Now, Saudi Arabia is paying the public relations firm, Qorvis MSLGROUP, to lobby for the amendment, the website says.

Democrats Think Muslims Worse Off Here Than Christians Are In Muslim World
Most voters agree that Christians living in Muslim-majority countries are mistreated for their religion. But Democrats are more likely to think Muslims are mistreated in America than to think Christians are persecuted in the Islamic world.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 62% of Likely U.S. Voters believe most Christians living in the Islamic world are treated unfairly because of their religion. Just 17% disagree, while 21% more are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
These findings have changed little in surveys since early 2015.
By comparison, 39% feel most Muslims living in the United States are treated unfairly because of their religion. That’s up from 31% last year and is the highest finding in surveys to date. A plurality (46%) still believes Muslims are not treated unfairly because of their faith, while 15% more are not sure.

UC Berkeley police defend 'hands-off' approach to riot
University of California, Berkeley police defended its decision to take a hands-off approach in its effort to handle the riot that took place on campus last week ahead of Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos’ speech to Republicans at the school.
A group of about 150 rioters overtook peaceful protesters and used metal rods, Molotov cocktails and commercial-grade fireworks to destroy parts of downtown Berkeley while police largely stood to the side. Raging fires were also set on campus. The damaged total about $100,000 and only one person was arrested.
Berkeley police Sgt. Sabrina Reich said officers feared increased violence and more serious injuries if the violence escalated accompanied by a heavier-handed police response. Investigators are reviewing extensive video taken during the protest and more arrests are possible, she said.
Several officers did fire paint-ball like guns to mark rioters for detention and their possible arrest, she said. But if officers had made more arrests at the scene, up to three officers would have had to give up crowd control duty to escort each suspected rioter to jail, Reich said.

Why the Democrats Dissed DeVos
The Senate Tuesday finally cleared the way for Betsy DeVos to take over as head of the Department of Education — but just barely.
Last week, DeVos' nomination fell in danger after two teacher union-supported Republicans (Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine) opted to join Democrat obstructionists. This put the Senate in a 50/50 split, leaving absolutely no room to spare, which always opens the door for backroom deals being cut over future legislation. Vice President Mike Pence cast the pivotal tie-breaker vote in the Senate.
Never before has a cabinet confirmation come down to a tie-breaker, and the reason this one did is because DeVos is a threat to the Democrats' stranglehold on shaping the worldview of the next generation of Americans.
Not only is the vote historic, but the role DeVos will play in America’s future may well be too. She stands ready to upend the Democrats' government school status quo, especially their urban poverty plantation schools.
The situation is so crucial that public policy protagonist Thomas Sowell temporarily came out of retirement to lobby on her behalf. He warned, “American education is at a crossroads. If the teachers' unions and their allies can defeat the nomination of Mrs. DeVos, and the Republicans substitute someone else more acceptable to the education establishment, a historic opportunity will be lost, and may never come again in this generation.”

Ted Cruz, audience members, tore Bernie Sanders to shreds in debate
He's lucky no one watches CNN
Often, people will ask me: "Hey Rob, if Bernie had been the nominee, he would have won, right?"
My answer is always the same. "He probably would have done a little better."
Would he have won? I doubt it. The fact is, had Bernie secured the nomination, he would have been forced to lay out his vision for America. Then, he'd have been forced to defend it. That's where the trouble would have come in. Bernie may have the love of the radical left, but he's still a crazy old coot who would have faced the nigh-impossible task of trying to sell middle-America on his ridiculous socialist agenda.

Ted Cruz Defends Jeff Sessions: ‘The Democrats Are the Party of the Ku Klux Klan’
Texas Senator Ted Cruz defended his fellow Republican senator and Donald Trump‘s pick for attorney general, Jeff Sessions, on Fox News Wednesday, noting it was the Democratic Party that had a history of racism.
Cruz defended the vote to temporarily block Elizabeth Warren from debating on the Senate floor after she read a letter from Coretta Scott King that accused Sessions of trying to keep blacks from voting, calling it a false smear. “It’s one of the crutches — when the left doesn’t have any other arguments, they go and just accuse everyone of being a racist,” Cruz said.
“The Democrats are the party of the Ku Klux Klan,” Cruz continued. “You look at the most racist — you look at the Dixiecrats, they were Democrats who imposed segregation, imposed Jim Crow laws, who founded the Klan. The Klan was founded by a great many Democrats.”

Mississippi Considers Firing Squad As Method Of Execution
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi lawmakers are advancing a proposal to add firing squad, electrocution and gas chamber as execution methods in case a court blocks the use of lethal injection drugs.
House Bill 638 is a response to lawsuits filed by “liberal, left-wing radicals,” said House Judiciary B Committee Chairman Andy Gipson, a Republican.
The bill passed the House amid opposition Wednesday, and it moves to the Senate for more debate.
Lethal injection is Mississippi’s only execution method. The state faces lawsuits claiming the drugs it plans to use would violate constitutional prohibitions against cruel and unusual punishment.

91 Percent of HS Students Back First Amendment For Unpopular Views
First Amendment support is climbing among high school students, and is stronger today than it's been in the last 12 years, according to a survey on the issue.
A Knight Foundation survey conducted last year found 91 percent of high school students say they believe that individuals should be allowed to express unpopular opinions.
"What we've seen since 2004 is a slow but steady increase in support," Kenneth Dautrich, the study's lead author and the president of the Stats Group, a statistical and data services firm, told the New York Times.

Your ex could get you free wings this Valentine's Day
If you’re single on Valentine’s Day, at least one business wants to help mend your lonely heart. Hooters is taking on being single on Valentine’s Day with a unique solution…and it will allow you to get out any residual feelings for your ex’s.
On Feb. 14, Hooters restaurants are offering to “shred your ex” for free wings. Participating locations are giving away 10 free boneless wings when restaurant-goers purchase an order of 10 wings. The only catch, patrons must shred a picture of an ex.
There are two ways to redeem an old lover for a plate of wings: Online gives the option to shred, burn, bury or dart a digital picture of an ex in order to access a digital coupon, or restaurant guests can bring a photo into a Hooters location and let them do the dirty work.
This will be the second year that Hooters has offered to “shred em and forget em.” Last year, over 25,000 people disposed of their ex for free food.

Over capacity, too few users blamed for water troubles
Pocomoke City’s water troubles are caused by too much storage and not enough people making use of the service, resulting in stale water containing deposits of iron and other materials being fed into the town’s homes, according to GMB consultants, the firm hired by the town to identify the source of the problem.
Testing concluded the water leaving the plant contained no iron, or any of the other deposits that might cause the water to have an unpleasant odor, color and taste. The sediment-rich solution from the taps would also clog filters and stain clothing, dishware and houses washed with the substance. Several people have claimed the town’s water had changed the color of their hair.
Scott Getchell, the project manager for GMB on the Pocomoke City water problem, explained to the council Monday evening that the computer simulation of the town’s system yielded some answers to the town’s questions.
“It’s evident to us that the flows in the southern part of town are greatly diminished,” he said. “There’s sizable plumbing in the area, and a lot more storage than users.”
Getchell explained that as water in the pipes stagnates, it becomes more acidic and is therefore more likely to chemically interact with the transport pipes. The interaction creates the sediment, color and odor residents are complaining about.

The Maryland Senate Republicans stand up to Democrat bullying
Today I did something I've never done - walked off of the Senate floor. The Democrat majority is pushing through a Resolution that gives Maryland's Attorney General basically unlimited power to sue the Trump administration without approval from the Governor. Normally, the General Assembly authorizes the AG to take specific action and/or the Governor approves action. This bill just had a hearing and was voted out of committee only yesterday. It's a radical change done for partisan, political purposes that have nothing to do with our job as state legislators. I and other Senators, including at least one Democrat, requested a "special order" of the bill for one day so we could review this significant proposal. This is normally granted, especially this early in Session. The Democratic leadership refused - despite allowing special orders on other bills today. By a 28-18 vote they denied our request so the bill moves forward to a final vote tomorrow. 9 of us protested by leaving the Senate floor. Whatever anyone thinks about President Trump or Governor Hogan, the constant attempt to attack and delegitimize the President or go after the Governor's power is out of control. We should be working on improving our state - and doing the job that taxpayers send us to Annapolis to do, not trying to be congressmen and U.S. Senators.
Maryland: Senate Committee to Hear Legislation to Criminalize the Private Transfer of Long Guns
Introduced by state Senator William Smith, Jr., Senate Bill 948 seeks to criminalize the private transfer of long guns in Maryland. While SB 948 has been referred to the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, it has not been scheduled for a hearing at this time. NRA members and Second Amendment supporters are encourage to contact members of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee and urge them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 948 when it comes up for a vote.
Senate Bill 948 would require individuals to appear before a licensed firearm dealer to request a criminal background check prior to transferring a long gun, absent limited and vague exceptions. The dealer would also be required to create a record of each sale. This flawed legislation is being pushed by an out-of-state anti-gun group who is trying to impose their misguided policies on the law-abiding gun owners of Maryland.
Again, please click the “Take Action” button above to contact members of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee and urge them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 948 when it comes up for a vote.

Exclusive: US May Have Let 'Dozens' of Terrorists Into Country As Refugees
Several dozen suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some believed to have targeted American troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the United States as war refugees, according to FBI agents investigating the remnants of roadside bombs recovered from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky -- who later admitted in court that they'd attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq -- prompted the bureau to assign hundreds of specialists to an around-the-clock effort aimed at checking its archive of 100,000 improvised explosive devices collected in the war zones, known as IEDs, for other suspected terrorists' fingerprints.
"We are currently supporting dozens of current counter-terrorism investigations like that," FBI Agent Gregory Carl, director of the Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC), said in an ABC News interview to be broadcast tonight on ABC News' "World News with Diane Sawyer" and "Nightline".
"I wouldn't be surprised if there were many more than that," said House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul. "And these are trained terrorists in the art of bombmaking that are inside the United States; and quite frankly, from a homeland security perspective, that really concerns me."

Announcing 375,000 open images from the Met Museum (and a new way to find them!)
Today, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York announces that all public domain images in its collection will be shared under CC0, expanding their digital collection by over 375,000 images as well as providing data on over 420,000 museum objects spanning more than 5,000 years. CC0 allows anyone to use, re-use, and remix a work without restriction. This announcement will shape the future of public domain images online and underscores the Met’s leadership role as one of the most important open museum collections in the world.
Creative Commons CEO Ryan Merkley joined the Met to announce the release. The Met collection of CC0 images can be browsed on the new CC Search beta, also announced this morning.
“Sharing is fundamental to how we promote discovery, innovation, and collaboration in the digital age,” said Merkley. “Today, The Met has given the world a profound gift in service of its mission: the largest museum in the United States has eliminated the barriers that would otherwise prohibit access to its content, and invited the world to use, remix, and share their public domain collections widely and without restriction.”

At Over $2.5 Trillion, US Student And Auto Loans Hit New All Time High
Following a burst in consumer credit growth in the past few months, driven by both revolving, or credit card, debt as well as non-revolving auto and student loans, in December the US consumer took a breather, and total consumer credit grew by only $14.2 billion, nearly half of last month's $25.2 billion, and lowest monthly increase since February.
Despite the modest slowdown, total US credit card debt was just a fraction away from $1 trillion, and just a few months away from regaining its previous record of $1.02 trillion attained just prior to the last financial crisis.

Sen. Tom Cotton: Time to Cut Immigration Levels, Shift Focus to Helping American Citizens First
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) is introducing legislation on Tuesday with Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) designed to cut the level of immigration into the United States in half, with the express intent of refocusing the nation’s immigration policy onto helping American workers instead of foreigners first.
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Tuesday morning, Cotton explained that the legislation will cut the number of green cards given out every year from about a million a year down to about half a million a year—all designed to help the forgotten American worker who has gotten a “raw deal” thanks to overflowing immigration levels into the United States in recent years—causing wages to decline and job prospects to stagnate.

“Despite all the challenges we face, I remain convinced that, yes, the future is female. Just look at the amazing energy we saw as women organized a march that galvanized millions of people all over our country and across the world,” she said.
The women’s march, which took place the day after Donald Trump’s inauguration, saw thousands of activists take to the streets to protest Trump’s presidency, including celebrities such as singer Madonna, filmmaker Michael Moore, and actress Scarlett Johnansson.

Spike in violent crime in Richmond brings comparisons to Chicago
RICHMOND, Va. – In the first 36 days of 2017, violent crime is up 25 percent in Richmond, a statistic city police aren't proud of, but it’s something they are working to combat.
Already in 2017, South Richmond resident Jasmine Miles has seen home invasions, shootings, stabbings, robberies and murders close to her home.
"I’m already in this area and I could potentially have children and bring them into this environment,” Miles said. “It’s scary. It makes me not even want to procreate.”
Police said they are trying to slow down the bloodshed that led to the spike in crime.

Women's March Now Organizing a 'Women's Strike'
While there were a ton of women at the Women's March (and no, I'm not body-shaming), their vague demands and lack of focus mean it accomplished little except letting organizers and attendees feel good about themselves.
Now, it seems the brains behind that waste of time and money have hit on another brilliant plan:
Unsurprisingly, some leftist sites are already onboard with the plan, despite the complete lack of specifics:
If the Women’s March, a protest of unprecedented size (and don’t let it be forgotten by the “pro-lifers” who are angry that their march didn’t get equal media attention), was any indication, there are enough “nasty women” out there to make a serious statement with future actions. So what’s next? A day when all work grinds to a halt due to the absence of women, it seems.
That’s how we’d imagine it, anyway, but we have little in the way of hard details to go on at this point. All we know is that the official Twitter account for the Women’s March organizers sent out the above tweet, promising a “General Strike: A Day Without a Woman” on a date to be determined. (Buzzfeed has since published an update that the Women’s March organizers will meet the people behind the planned national general strike, currently set for February 17.) The lack of information aside, it already seems there’s plenty of excitement to participate surrounding the announcement on social media.

Vizio Fined for Spying on Customers Through TVs
We’ve been warned about bringing devices into our home that have cameras, microphones or WiFi that are connected to the outside world. Why? Because any one of the devices has the capability to collect data about us. And with advertisers and other organizations willing to pay for personal information, it’s tempting for device makers to try to earn extra profits.
The consumer electronics hardware business has become highly competitive with so many similar products that do much the same, so the manufacturers are trying to find ways to increase their revenue through software subscriptions or by collecting data that they can sell to others.

NBC Anchor Andrea Mitchell Caught Lying Again
Andrea Mitchell, one of NBC's many liberals, was caught full-blown lying again. She claimed that Merrick Garland was never even given a meeting with any Republican senator. But Senators Ayotte, Boozman, Collins, Flake, Graham, Grassley, Hatch, Hoeven, Inhofe, Johnson, Kirk, Portman, Rounds, Toomey, and Murkowski all did actually meet with the Supreme Court nominee. The mainstream media really needs to stop pushing fake news.

Army Preps for Urban Warfare in MegaCities
There will be war in the streets of America. Things have been engineered that way.
The scenarios are many, the issues are complex. The current anger from the left, who are violently protesting against President Trump, is just one aspect of it.
But the Pentagon and the U.S. national security structure is increasingly looking towards the shifting demographics around the globe – people have moved from rural areas, and shifted into cities. Where ever conflict stirs, there will be a need for military and SWAT response to the call. Entire cities will be locked down; door to door sweeps will often have violent ends.
Baghdad could be brought home to the streets of America, and the military already knows it.
The powers that be are deeply concerned about the unfolding situations with migrants, illegal immigrants, potential terrorists, political factions, violent protests, arson and riots.
Increasingly, they are training for and expecting a homegrown conflict that will call for them to restore order in a major cities – and even hunt down suspects block to block, like in the Boston Marathon bombing incident, while making some significant infringement of our civil liberties.

Teacher Step Increases Proposed For Education Budget; One-Time Capital Project Funding Sought
NEWARK – Worcester County school officials have proposed additional expenditures to next year’s budget that will address salary raises and five other areas of need within the school system.
In a Worcester County Board of Education meeting Tuesday, Chief Financial Officer Vince Tolbert outlined next year’s proposed budget and detailed changes that will go before the County Commissioners for approval in the upcoming months.
Although a majority of line items remain unchanged from the current fiscal year, the Board of Education will seek additional funding for various financial demands – bus replacements and additions, rising health insurance costs, increases to the local share of teachers’ pensions, one-time capital improvement projects and pay increases.
“We have been very fiscally responsible,” Superintendent Lou Taylor said. “Again, not many, if any, of our categories have increased.”

Ushering in Totalitarianism: The Great Snowflake Meltdown
In the Spring, up here in New England and all over the northern USA, snow melts in preparation for warmer months – the warmer months when just about everyone shakes off the sleep of winter and welcomes the warmth of the life giving sun – and that is the way it has been for eons.
But there is a change. Yes, there is a change in the air. Not a change in climate. But a change as to when and how Snowflakes melt down.
Usually, Snowflakes melt down into life giving water. But now they melt down and deliver not life, but destruction.
Of course, I am talking about the people who have been terrorizing American cities, American neighborhoods and American streets.
These people have been given a nickname: “Snowflakes." These Snowflakes always seem to bring with them, destruction and disruption. Neither of which is good for a just and moral society. Yet being just or moral is not on their agenda.
While they claim they are standing for democracy, they are proving how ignorant they are because they are standing, instead, for totalitarianism. You see, Snowflakes today believe that it’s their way or the highway.
You either agree with them, or you need to be punched in the face.

$25,000 bill for 40 hours of Holder's anti-Trump time
California taxpayers are shelling out $25,000 a month for 40 hours of former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s time to help the state strategize for upcoming clashes with the Trump administration, according to a contract obtained by a conservative watchdog group.
The California Legislature hired Holder and his Washington, D.C., firm, Covington & Burling, last month to assist with legal challenges over everything from immigration to environmental policies.
Judicial Watch, which obtained Holder’s contract through a records request, called the deal “crony corruption pure and simple.”
“The new records show California state legislators are wasting tax dollars to bankroll another corrupt politician – Eric Holder – under the pretense of attacking the Trump administration,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said in a written statement.

Chicken farmers say processors treat them like servants
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Former chicken farmers in five states have filed a federal lawsuit accusing a handful of giant poultry processing companies that dominate the industry of treating farmers who raise the chickens like indentured servants and colluding to fix prices paid to them.
The farmers located in Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Texas allege that the contract grower system created by Tyson Foods, Pilgrim’s Pride, Perdue Farms, Koch Foods, and Sanderson Farms pushed them deep into debt to build and maintain chicken barns to meet company demands.
They say the companies colluded to fix farmer compensation at low levels to boost corporate profits, making it difficult for the farmers to survive financially. They are seeking class action status for the suit filed in federal court in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

MLK’s niece: Warren played ‘race card’ with aunt’s letter
Prominent conservative activist Alveda King, the niece of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., said Wednesday that Sen. Elizabeth Warren played the “race card” and used the King name on the Senate floor to divide the American people.
Ms. King, a former Georgia state representative, made the comments following the Senate’s vote Tuesday night to silence Ms. Warren after she broke chamber rules with her criticism of Sen. Jeff Sessions, President Trump’s attorney general nominee. The 49-43 vote, which broke along party lines, came after Ms. Warren quoted a letter written by MLK’s late wife, Coretta Scott King, when she objected to Mr. Sessions’ nomination to a federal judgeship in the 1980s.
Ms. King rejected Ms. Warren’s use of the King name, saying her aunt was a “very reasonable woman” who today would recognize Mr. Sessions’ record in helping the black community.

Silicon Valley is right—our jobs are already disappearing
Stephen Hawking says that “we are at the most dangerous moment in the development of humanity” and that the “rise of artificial intelligence is likely to extend job destruction deep into the middle classes, with only the most caring, creative or supervisory roles remaining.”
Sam Hinkie, the smartest man in sports and a Stanford grad, asks, “How are you preparing your kids for a life with 60% unemployment?”
Sam Altman, the head of YCombinator, is so convinced that we’re going to need to figure out new ways of providing people with a means to live that he’s giving ~$20k each to 1,000 people in Oakland for a year just to see what they do with their new jobless income.
Literally the smartest people in the world think an unprecedented wave of job destruction is coming with the development of artificial intelligence, robotics, software and automation. My friends in Silicon Valley have read the Second Machine Age and Rise of the Robots and they see a wave coming.

Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie Launches Bill to Abolish Federal Education Department
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is introducing legislation that would abolish the federal education department.
The bill, H.R.899, is only one sentence and states: “The Department of Education Shall Terminate on December 31, 2018.”
Massie introduces the measure as Betsy DeVos is confirmed as the next secretary of the U.S. Education Department. Grassroots parent activists had urged that the federal department be dismantled.
“Neither Congress nor the President, through his appointees, has the constitutional authority to dictate how and what our children must learn,” Massie said in a press release announcing the bill.

55% Of Europeans Agree With Trump: "Muslim Immigration Should Be Banned"
President Donald Trump’s executive order to ban citizens of seven Muslim-majority states from entering the US for 90 days, and temporarily freeze all refugee arrivals (including Syrians indefinitely), has been interpreted widely as an attempt to curtail the inward migration of Muslims, which Trump and his supporters argue pose a threat to national security. It has also been challenged legally, and today a showdown between the DOJ and a San Francisco Court of Appeals is scheduled for 6pm, at which point the Trump order may be formally rejected, forcing Trump to engage the Supreme Court.
While the Trump order has unleashed a firestorm of legal retaliation in the US, Trump’s policy has also generated a backlash among some of Europe’s leaders. Angela Merkel’s spokesman said the chancellor had ‘explained’ the Geneva Convention to the president in a phone call discussing the order, while London Mayor Sadiq Khan argued that the invitation to the president for a state visit to Britain in 2017 should be withdrawn until the ban is rescinded. Meanwhile, leaders of Europe’s populist parties, including Geert Wilders, Nigel Farage and Matteo Salvini, have heaped praise on Trump.

Violent, Repeat Offenders Leading To Increased Crime In Baltmore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Gang retaliation continues to wreak havoc on certain parts of Charm City, as police struggle to get a firm hold on the crime.
Police say gang retaliation has played a big part in the surge of violence we’ve seen over the past several months, and as quickly as some of these gangs go down, others come right back up.
Recently, there have been shootings one after another, with sirens becoming a sort of theme music in Baltimore.
It’s all part of what police have called a tennis match of violence between gangs.

The Left Whips Up a Climate of Violence — the Prime Target Is Donald Trump
1. Target: Trump
Is there a media-driven “climate of violence”? You bet there is, and it’s being whipped up by the left and the Main Stream Media, here and around the world. And it has a clear purpose: The ultimate goal is the destruction of the Trump presidency—and, for at least some, seemingly, the goal is the assassination of President Trump himself.
Have a look at the cover of Village magazine.
The once-obscure magazine, published in Ireland, is now basking in worldwide attention, and American social media are happy to magnify Village’s glorification of a criminal act. Here’s that deadly image, for example, on Twitter. As an aside, we might ask: Doesn’t Twitter have rules against “hate speech” and “incitement of violence”? Or are they not enforced when the target is on the right?
The Village article itself plays a clever editorial game. It begins by describing Trump as “a purveyor of hatred” and then lists all his other purported sins, including the mistreatment of refugees, an overall wrong-headed foreign policy, retrograde ideas on “climate change,” and opposition to abortion.
After that litany, the magazine considers the options: “So perhaps the solution is tyrannicide. As he might say himself—‘take him out.’”

Tom DeLay to House: Throw the Book at Ban-Blocking Judge
James Robart, the U.S. District Court judge who blocked President Donald Trump's travel ban on seven Muslim-majority nations, is a power-abusing jurist who should be impeached, former House Majority leader Tom DeLay told Newsmax TV.

"This man is abusing his power, there's no case here . . . He doesn't even refer to the Constitution in his ruling.
"It is absolutely abuse of the judiciary, a lawless judiciary that needs to be stopped. And the House of Representatives need to stop it, and they ought to start by impeaching James Robart."

Exclusive — The Spirit of America: Conservative Grassroots Leaders Plan Massive Pro-Trump Demonstrations Nationwide
Conservative grassroots leaders are planning a series of massive pro-President Donald Trump rallies nationwide, Breitbart News has learned exclusively.
On Feb. 27 and March 4, the rallies—dubbed the Spirit of America Rallies—will spring up nationwide in cities and towns across America.

Should Police Be Allowed to Keep Property Without a Criminal Conviction?
When Sean Devonish and Jeremy Keets, two friends from Indianapolis, set out for a weekend trip to Cincinnati in 2013, they anticipated a few relaxing days out of town. Instead, they wound up having to hand over $16,500 in cash to officers from the Hamilton County Regional Narcotics Unit — without ever being charged with a crime.
The two men were pulled over on Interstate 74 for a lane violation and consented to a search of their vehicle, which is when the officers discovered the $16,500 — money that was intended for gambling at the casino and shopping in the city, according to their attorneys.
Hamilton County is a hotbed of interstate drug activity, and the Regional Narcotics Unitmakes regular drug busts along the highways heading into and out of Cincinnati. In this case, however, officers seized the money based on the mere suspicion — without evidence — that it was tied to criminal activity. After county prosecutors proceeded with a civil forfeiture case, a county judge determined the money had no connection to a crime. The $16,500 was returned to Devonish and Keets, but only after two years of court battles and several thousand dollars in attorneys’ fees.

Fall armyworm 'threatens African farmers' livelihoods'
Scientists are calling for urgent action to halt the spread of a pest that is destroying maize crops and spreading rapidly across Africa.
The fall armyworm poses a major threat to food security and agricultural trade, warns the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International (Cabi).
It says farmers' livelihoods are at risk as the non-native insect threatens to reach Asia and the Mediterranean.
The Food and Agriculture Organization plans emergency talks on the issue.
The fall armyworm, so called because it eats its way through most of the vegetation in its way as it marches through crops, is native to North and South America but was identified for the first time in Africa last year.
Cabi chief scientist Dr Matthew Cock said: "This invasive species is now a serious pest spreading quickly in tropical Africa and with the potential to spread to Asia.
"Urgent action will be needed to prevent devastating losses to crops and farmers' livelihoods."

NY Dems Respond to Trump by Passing 'Sanctuary State' Bill
New York State Democrats responded to President Trump's threat to withhold federal funding from cities that harbor illegal immigrants by passing a bill through the assembly that would declare the state a "sanctuary state".
The bill directs local law enforcement not to cooperate with federal authorities, except in cases of violent felonies, terrorism, or previous deportations, Eric Shawn reported.
Speaking on the Senate floor in Albany, Assemb. Francisco Moya (D-Queens) said the bill will reduce crime because it encourages illegal immigrants to report wrongdoing to the police.

Senators Say Loss Of Net Neutrality Will “Unleash A Political Firestorm”
There’s nothing subtle about the writing on the wall: New FCC chair Ajit Pai openly despises and wants to do away with the 2015 Open Internet Order, which reclassified broadband as a utility-like service, and cemented the “net neutrality” rules. However, some lawmakers and consumer advocates have made it known that they aren’t ready to give up these recently earned protections.
