New Obama Rule Could Force Cities To House Illegals

The Obama administration, in July 2013, quietly introduced a new regulation that critics say will dramatically increase Washington’s power over local zoning laws in every U.S. city and town that accepts federal block grants through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Some are calling it the “Common Core of local zoning” that has flown under the radar for nearly a year. Instead of the U.S. Department of Education dictating education standards to local school districts, this rule change would allow HUD to influence zoning laws from the biggest cities down to the tiniest towns.

The proposed rule, which is set to take effect in October, would put teeth on the Fair Housing Act of 1968 by providing a set of standards, guidelines and goals that would use data to “measure” and “assess” how well a local community is meeting its Fair Housing obligations.

A Letter To The Editor 7-17-14

I (we) loved the vietnam wall link! Thanks for posting it. Here's a tidbit you might like. For your perusal:

Finally, walmart was the place for a good experience for me...something I've never had until yesterday. An elderly gentleman in front of me in "the line" had on a cap with the Words "W.W. II VETERAN". When I remarked how I loved his hat he broke out in the biggest smile... A light conversation ensued & I shook his hand & thanked him for his service. He didn't stop smiling. He was interested to hear of my cousin "Bub". Bub was a veteran of the Korean war who had passed away just last year. The man's daughter told me of a memorial service they had recently attended for a Korean war veteran whose remains had just been identified and returned home for burial. So many years had passed since he went missing in action. She said they were very impressed with the beauty, dignity and solemnity of the service. She said it was if he had just passed a few days ago. She said the service was "magnificent" . To me it delivered a powerful message... "You are never forgotten!" The service was here at Wicomico memorial park. As she told me the story & when I think of it, I get goose bumps. Who'd have thought right here in our little town...

Baltimore Still Being Considered To House Immigrants

Casa de Maryland, an advocacy group for immigrants, hopes Maryland can reach an agreement with the federal government to find another location to house immigrant children.

At least two other sites have already been rejected including the former Army Reserve center in Carroll County but officials have been quietly negotiating to find other locations to house some of the thousands of immigrant children coming over the border.

Liz Alex with Casa de Maryland says children are fleeing Central America to find their parents who are already in the United States.

Listen to the Voicemail Left by Former Top Obama Administration Official That Darrell Issa Says Is a Clear Violation of Federal Law

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is sounding the alarm regarding new alleged audio of former Labor Secretary Hilda Solis leaving a voicemail for someone “off the record” to ask the individual to contribute and help organize a fundraising event for President Barack Obama’s campaign. Issa says Solis violated the Hatch Act, which prohibits political activity on official time.

In his opening statement during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on Wednesday, Issa played the voicemail Solis reportedly left to pressure a Labor Department employee to donate to Obama’s re-election campaign.

CNN on the Border Crisis: 'You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet'

A columnist for CNN says that when it comes to the influx of unaccompanied alien children at America’s southern border, “You ain’t seen nothing yet.”

“We should stop looking for an endpoint. This story has no end in sight,” writesRuben Navarrette at CNN.com. “We will be dealing with this crisis not for weeks or months but probably for years.” Navarette explains that it’s foolish for U.S. officials to believe that any one plan of attack will solve the problem and this crisis has no simple solution or finish line.

As for the first group of illegal immigrants deported back to Honduras, he says not to expect them to even bother unpacking. “They will soon return to the United States,” he writes.

House Bans Funding To Renovate White House Bowling Alley

THE HILL – The House on Wednesday adopted a proposal to prohibit funding to renovate the White House bowling alley.

Rep. Pat Meehan’s (R-Pa.) amendment to the fiscal 2015 Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill, which includes funding for the General Services Administration, passed by voice vote. Democrats had initially demanded a roll call vote on the amendment but later withdrew their request.

Meehan argued that funding for the bowling alley in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building constituted a “want,” not a “need.” He used ice cream as an analogy during House floor debate.

Markis O. Leonard
Markis O. Leonard
The Ocean City Police Department Narcotics Unit concluded a two-week drug investigation with the arrest of a Selbyville, Delaware man on Saturday, July 12.
Earlier this month, detectives received a tip from a citizen indicating possible drug activity in the area of 141st Street and Lighthouse Avenue. During the investigation, detectives learned that Markis O. Leonard, 28, of Selbyville, DE was residing at the residence in question.
As a result of their investigation, detectives discovered enough evidence to obtain a search and seizure warrant for Leonard, as well as his vehicle.  Members of the Narcotics Unit executed the warrant on July 12, 2014 at approximately 12:45 p.m. after conducting a traffic stop on Leonard’s vehicle. During a search of Leonard, officers located over 170 bags of heroin and over $3,100 in U.S. currency.
Ocean City police have charged Leonard with possession of heroin with intent to distribute. Leonard was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was transferred to the Worcester County Jail on $50,000 bail.
The Ocean City Police Department would like to thank Ocean City citizens for submitting crime tips that help make Ocean City a safer place. Citizens are encouraged to continue to contact the Crime Tip Hotline whenever criminal activity is suspected by calling 410-520-5136 or emailing crimetips@oceancitymd.gov.

Hundreds of cities fight back against ‘invasion’

Massive 'surge' in national protest this week

A massive protest scheduled for July 18 and 19 across the United States is aimed at stopping the influx of Central American children flooding across the border, and more than a dozen smaller community protests already have played roles in stopping the children from being brought there.

Citizens in Westminster, Maryland; Oracle, Arizona; Vassar, Michigan; Greece, New York, and many other places have blocked the importation of illegal aliens into their communities through public protests, letters and official resolutions from elected leaders.

See full list below.

Radio host Rush Limbaugh led his show Tuesday with stories about the successful pushback against the illegals going on across America.

“Here’s what you do not know,” he said. “There are towns all over America standing up to this invasion, just like they did in Murrieta, California. You’re not hearing about it, however, and I am here to tell you why you’re not hearing about it. Westminster, Maryland, is a town standing up to it, just like Murrieta, California, did. Oracle, Arizona, is standing up to it.

Muslim Cleric Says Islam Sees No Distinction Between Combatants and Civilians, So Killing American Women and Children Is Fine

A radical Muslim cleric in Sudan with a history of incendiary statements against the U.S. now says that under Islam there is no distinction between combatant and civilian and thus American women and children are fair game for militant attacks.

“In its war with the infidels, Islam recognizes no distinction between regular armies and civilians,” said Sudanese cleric Muhammad Al-Jazouli at his Friday sermon, citing a fatwa, or religious ruling.

The Middle East Media Research Institute found video of the sermon and posted translated excerpts online.

After criticizing White House over unaccompanied minors, Martin O’Malley said don’t send them to Maryland site

(CNN) - After his strong criticism of the Obama administration's plans to return thousands of young undocumented migrants back to Central America, Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley asked a top White House official that the children not be sent to a site that was under consideration in his home state, sources familiar with the conversation said.

"He privately said 'please don't send these kids to Western Maryland,'" a Democratic source told CNN. The heated discussion between O'Malley and White House domestic policy adviser Cecilia Munoz occurred during a phone call late Friday evening, sources familiar with the conversation added.

A potential Democratic presidential candidate in 2016, O'Malley surprised some in his party when he sharply criticized a White House proposal to give new legal authorities to the Department of Homeland Security to expedite the deportation of the unaccompanied minors and their families.

“We are not a country that should turn children away and send them back to certain death,” O’Malley said last week at a National Governors Association meeting in Nashville.

America: No longer 1 nation, 1 people

Pat Buchanan cites ways 'diversity' has harmed United States

Speaking to the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Albuquerque in 2001, George W. Bush declared that, as Mexico was a friend and neighbor, “It’s so important for us to tear down our barriers and walls that might separate Mexico from the United States.”

Bush succeeded. And during his tenure, millions from Mexico exploited his magnanimity to violate our laws, trample upon our sovereignty, walk into our country and remain here.

In 2007, supported by John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Barack Obama, Bush backed amnesty for the 12 million people who had entered America illegally.

The nation thundered no. And Congress sustained the nation.

The latest mass border crossing by scores of thousands of tots, teenagers and toughs from Central America has killed amnesty in 2014, and probably for the duration of the Obama presidency.

Her Alleged Rape Went Viral, But This Defiant 16-Year-Old Is Taking Control Of The Conversation

Last month, 16-year-old Houston teenager Jada passed out at a party. She woke up without any memory of what happened, but when she returned home, she found that her underwear was on backwards. She believes she was raped.

Photos and videos of her lying unconscious at the party began surfacing on social media. The first, she said in her recent interview on "Ronan Farrow Daily," was onlyup for a few seconds, but more followed. People also tweeted images of themselves in which they mocked the way her body was arranged in the photos -- arms slung on either side and one leg bent perpendicular to the other -- with the hashtag #jadapose.

It would be understandable if being ridiculed by what felt like "millions" had shocked Jada into silence. But this 16-year-old is fighting back, speaking out publicly about the alleged assault and working hard to reclaim her image.

Jada has devised a new hashtag and a new pose, one that she says better captures who and what she is: strong.

Secret Flights Of Illegals Land In Boston: Feds Caught Lying

Not only is the Obama administration secretly flying convoys of illegals around the country, but they’ve officially been caught lying about it.

…Illegal immigrants are being secretly flown to Massachusetts and kept in local lockups in an under-the-radar operation that has alarmed lawmen who are raising health and security concerns amid recent spikes in detainees coming up from Texas during the latest border crisis.

“We’re all becoming border sheriffs now with these people being carted all over the country,” said Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson… “The blame goes all the way up. It’s a travesty and people ought to be upset,” Hodgson said. “This is un-American and has raised the stakes to the public health and public safety threat.”

…On the receiving end of the buses from Hodgson’s facility was Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph D. McDonald Jr., who said he’s seen a jump in illegal immigrants arriving at his jail and had to deal with “scenarios where we’ve had 100-plus detainees coming in at the same time.”…

Democratic Bid To Reverse Hobby Lobby Fails

A Democratic bill to reverse the Supreme Court’s recent Hobby Lobby decision narrowly failed in the Senate on Wednesday, but it sparked more contentious debate over contraception and religious freedom that both sides hope will mobilize their voters in November.

The bill in effect says a 1993 religious freedom law at the heart of the Hobby Lobby case doesn’t apply to legally required health benefits. The Supreme Court had cited the Religious Freedom Restoration Act in ruling that certain for-profit businesses can on religious grounds be exempted from the Obamacare requirement that the health plans they offer workers include FDA-approved birth control with no co-pays.

The procedural vote to take up the bill failed 56-43, four short of the 60 votes needed. Three Republicans, Susan Collins of Maine, Mark Kirk of Illinois and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, joined the Democrats in support of the measure sponsored by Patty Murray (D-Wash).

Democrats take to Twitter, tell illegals: 'Our doors are open'

Democrats in the House pushing a pro-amnesty message — and the need for speedy approval of $3.7 billion for President Obama to address border issues — took to Twitter to give illegals some political support, telling them bluntly: We’re on your side.

“We are talking about human beings, real people. We have to respect the dignity and worth of everyone,” the Georgia Democrat added.

Rep. Elijah Cummings said the “health, safety and educational needs” of the illegal minor-aged immigrants pouring across America’s borders “must be our first priority.” And House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer said America already has in place “extensive border security,” enough to deal with current border matters, Breitbart reported.

"A Restless President Weary Of The Obligations Of The White House

What’s so amusing about this week’s article from the New York Times titled, At Dinner Tables, Restless President Finds Intellectual Escape, is that the author appears to be quite sympathetic to Obama. She seems to want to portray the President as a real statesman; one who is so far above politics and the pedestrian task of being Commander in Chief that he finds it necessary to flee his responsibilities in order to find intellectual escape while dining extravagantly with “elites” in Europe. In contrast, he merely comes across as the arrogant, disconnected, oligarch coddler he is.

The article also seems to say something important about the New York Times’ own disconnectedness, particularly considering the paper’s Pentagon correspondent recentlyreferred to the American public as children, with the government and mainstream media playing the role of parents.

The Worst Trolls On The Internet Are The Government Trolls

We have all run into them. All over the Internet, there are horrible trolls that seem to delight in making life miserable for other people. But the worst trolls of all are the government trolls. And thanks to Edward Snowden, we now have some startling new evidence of what really goes on behind the scenes. According to newly revealed documents, British spy agency GCHQ is manipulating online discussions, infiltrating the computers of specific targets, purposely destroying reputations, altering the results of online polls, and using Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for propaganda and espionage purposes. If people don’t start getting outraged about this now, the governments of the western world are going to see it as a green light to do even more. Eventually, it might get so bad that we won’t be able to trust much of anything that we see on the Internet.

There is a lot about the Internet that is really awful, but one great thing about it is the fact that it has allowed average individuals to communicate on a mass scale unlike ever before. As the general population has become aware of how powerful of a tool the Internet can be, the elite have become extremely alarmed. Unlike so many other things in our society, it has not been something that they have been able to easily control.

But the elite have been starting to catch up to all of this new technology and are learning how to use it for their own purposes. Thanks to Snowden, we now have a list of specific tools that GCHQ has been using to manipulate the Internet. The following is a short excerpt from a recent ZDNet article about these new revelations…

Berlin Fire Company Studying Fire Alarm Relocation; Informal Petition Seeks Siren Removal

BERLIN — A malfunctioning fire siren in Berlin earlier this month reignited some frustration among residents and seems to have prompted a few to question the alarm’s necessity.

This week the Berlin Fire Company (BFC) defended the need for the decades old siren, but leaders confirmed they will be conducting their own evaluation as to whether the alarms should be re-located or remain as they are.

Right around dawn on the morning of July 4, the siren that sits behind town hall experienced a malfunction, subjecting residents to roughly 30 minutes of alarm. The sound was subdued compared to normal alerts, but still produced significant noise. While inarguably disorienting, BFC President David Fitzgerald said that this was probably only the second malfunction of the siren in his 26 years with the company.

Armed Homeland Security Agents in ‘Community Outreach’ to “Let People Know They’re in the Area”

Feds out in force to remind residents about snitch program

Armed Homeland Security agents are now conducting “community outreach” programs based around maintaining a visible presence in order to “let people know they’re in the area.”

News channel WNCT 9 received calls from alarmed residents in response to reports of numerous DHS vehicles parked outside a bankruptcy court in Greenville, North Carolina. However, the “heavy presence” was not because of any specific threat associated with the building.

DHS officials told the station that armed Homeland Security agents were out in full force “as part of their community outreach to let people know that they are in the area.”

The feds were also present in order to remind people about the DHS’ “See Something, Say Something” domestic snitch program.

The visible presence of armed federal agents for no other reason than to represent a show of force will only deepen concerns that the Department of Homeland Security is becoming America’s domestic standing army, a notion posited by the Rutherford Institute’s John Whitehead in a widely circulated article last month.

“The menace of a national police force, aka a standing army, vested with so much power cannot be overstated, nor can its danger be ignored,” wrote Whitehead, before listing numerous examples of how the DHS is instrumental in pushing America’s decline into a militarized police state.

The other side sure is making a lot of noise lately. They're up in arms about Obamacare, John Boehner is trying to sue the President of the United States, and my old friend Sarah Palin is back in the news.

You and I both know that there's one thing they're not worried about: Fundraising. Right-wing special interest groups are planning to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to influence close races throughout the country, trying to keep Democrats from realizing change in Congress. We're not talking about the usual thing, either -- we're talking about more money than I've ever seen in politics.

Joe, we've got to make some noise of our own. We can beat them, but it's going to take everything we've got. Chip in $10 or whatever you can today to support Democrats in this fight.

Let's get this done,

DHS Swarms Small Town In Bizarre, Unannounced Show Of Force

Excerpted from Infowars: Homeland Security agents, backed by police SWAT teams, armored vehicles and a Black Hawk helicopter staged a bizarre unannounced show of force in front of a school in a small Illinois town, scenes which will exacerbate concerns about the increasing militarization of U.S. law enforcement.

Residents of Livingston, IL., population 850, were shocked to see agents from Homeland Security, the US Customs and Border Patrol and local police agencies swarm a field belonging to a grade school yesterday, with one local telling news channel KTVI, “When all the armored trucks started showing up and everything it made me kind of nervous.”

One child said he thought the spectacle was “pretty cool” and that agents invited the local children to check out the choppers up close, despite the presence of weapons inside the helicopters.

The school superintendent said he was not given any information about the operation beforehand, despite authorities using school land as a staging ground. The U.S. Attorney’s Office refused to release any information on the purpose behind the operation.

Dems push ‘radical’ citizen-funded, unrestricted abortion

Ted Cruz blasts bill putting U.S. 'in company with North Korea'

WASHINGTON, D.C. –
An emotionally charged Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday highlighted the escalating controversy between social conservatives and Democrats who are trying to establish a constitutional right to government-funded birth control and unrestricted access to abortion.

At issue was the Democrats’ Women’s Health Protection Act, S.1696, a bill that would eliminate nearly all state limitations on abortion and bar states from adopting new ones.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said the bill “would make abortion common, without limit and paid for by the American taxpayer.”

“That is a radical view held by a tiny minority of the American public but championed by activists in the Democratic Party,” he said.

Cruz said the majority of Texans do not want to see late-term abortions made a legally acceptable procedure.

Large pro-Israel rally in LA marred by violence

Four Palestinian activists allegedly beat Israel supporters with sticks at end of thousand-strong demonstration

LOS ANGELES —
Some 3,000 Israel supporters flocked to a community solidarity rally outside the Los Angeles Federal building in West Los Angeles Sunday afternoon. Though largely peaceful, the demonstration’s conclusion was marred by violence when four Palestinian activists allegedly beat pro-Israel demonstrators with sticks, according to the Los Angeles Jewish Journal.

At the demonstration’s start, pro-Israel demonstrators wrapped in American and Israeli flags and holding banners aloft cheered and chanted as cars drove by honking their horns in support of Israel’s right to defend itself against the ongoing Hamas rocket launches into the country. As the day wore on, the numbers swelled until three corners of the busy intersection were flanked with a sea of blue and white.

Jesse Jackson Turns on Obama and Publicly Blasts Him

When the Rev. Jesse Jackson becomes a vocal critic ofBarack Obama, it’s a good indication that things with this president are getting really, really bad.

Much of the criticism that Jackson is aiming at Obama has to do with his handling of the border crisis, allotting huge sums of money to help feed, house, clothe, and educated thousands upon thousands of illegal immigrants, while children here aren’t receiving the same treatment.

Jackson is not the first to voice this complaint. A mother from Texas recently made waves in the media by giving Obama a scathing rebuke for placing the welfare ofillegals above the citizens of his own country.
