EXCLUSIVE: W.H. Collects Web Users' Data Without Notice

Social-media messages go into archives

The White House is collecting and storing comments and videos placed on its social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube without notifying or asking the consent of the site users, a failure that appears to run counter to President Obama's promise of a transparent government and his pledge to protect privacy on the Internet.

Marc Rotenberg, president of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, said the White House signaled that it would insist on open dealings with Internet users and, in fact, should feel obliged to disclose that it is collecting such information.

"The White House has not been adequately transparent, particularly on how it makes use of new social media techniques, such as this example," he said.

Defenders of the White House actions said the Presidential Records Act requires that the administration gather the information and that it was justified in taking the additional step of asking a private contractor to "crawl and archive" all such material. Nicholas Shapiro, a White House spokesman, declined to say when the practice began or how much the new contract would cost.

SALISBURY NEWS? Is the MSM trying to get back at us? Well, I kind of like it, actually. The more they promote our name, the more people will recognize us. However, if they keep it up they will be hearing from my attorney. This is their way of trying to obtain Google hits. Just remember guys, January 2010 will be a time in which you will never forget.

Budget Déjà Vu: Another Growing Gap, More Cuts Likely, O'Malley Says

Another revenue estimate, another write-down, more budget cuts. That's what Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) says Marylanders should brace for tomorrow when state leaders receive their latest tax revenue estimates.

Last week, O'Malley predicted the new figures would show tax revenue slipping $100 million to $200 million below expenses approved for the remainder of the state's fiscal year, which ends next June.

On Tuesday, O'Malley said he'd received initial indications the gap would be larger than what he suggested last week -- as much as $300 million, or more than 2 percent of the state's $13.4 billion budget.

The governor said that while Maryland's 7.2 percent unemployment rate is better than most other states', the loss of wages is predicted to cascade through Maryland tax rolls in coming months and open up yet another budget gap that could necessitate more painful cuts.
The gap would be déjà vu to last year.

ACORN Plans Internal Investigation

'Pimp' video prompts examination of controversial advocacy group

WASHINGTON
- An advocacy group under fire after employees were caught on camera appearing to advise a couple posing as a prostitute and pimp to lie about the woman's profession said Wednesday it is ordering an independent investigation.

The group also said it is refusing new admissions into its service programs.

ACORN will work with its advisory council, which includes prominent supporters of President Barack Obama, such as John Podesta, president of the nonprofit Center for American Progress, and Andrew Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union, to name an independent auditor and investigator, ACORN chief executive Bertha Lewis said in a written statement.

Trend Watch! CEOs Apologizing Via YouTube

Trend Watch! CEOs Apologizing Via YouTube

Want to see a bunch of corporate executives apologizing? Thanks to the magical internet, now you can!

Attention Digital has collected several YouTube videos of CEOs apologizing for one reason or another: Domino's Patrick Doyle, for the infamous snot-food video; Matel's Bob Eckert, for its run of toy safety violations, and the Maple Leaf Foods robot, for listeria in its products. The article missed it, YouTube also has a video apology from United Airlines' Jim Goodwin (oooo, I just want to take him home and rub his belly...)

Having all of these collected in one place is nice because it allows consumers to get a sense of apologizes as a genre. Apparently, bad lighting and monotone reading from a teleprompter are a plus. Of course, CEOs can always get help from this guy when they need it.

FDA Warns Injectable Drug Can Cause Gangrene

Promethazine can cause tissue injuries when used incorrectly

NEW YORK
- The Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday makers of the antihistamine and anti-nausea drug promethazine have to warn consumers over the potential risk of tissue injuries including gangrene if the injectable drug is administered incorrectly.

The FDA is requiring companies to include a warning on the drug's label to state that it should not be administered into an artery or under the skin because of the risk. There is also a risk that the drug can leach out from the vein during intravenous administration and cause serious damage to the surrounding tissue, the agency said.

The drug should be injected deep into a muscle.

A computer check revealed Cuffee, a suspended driver, was found to have an active capias for his arrest out of Kent County Superior Court for Violation of Probation. Execution Date Set For D.C. Sniper Mastermind

Muhammad faces Nov. 10 execution over role in 2002 attacks

RICHMOND, Va.
- A Virginia judge on Wednesday set a Nov. 10 execution date for John Allen Muhammad, mastermind of the 2002 sniper attacks in the Washington, D.C., area that left 10 dead.

The attorney general's office last week requested that the execution be on Nov. 9, but Prince William County Circuit Judge Mary Grace O'Brien chose a day later. The date, which falls on a Tuesday, was picked so courts would be open the day before in case they have to take up last-minute appeals, said Jonathan Sheldon, Muhammad's attorney.

The date was picked during an early morning conference call with the judge, the attorney general's office and Sheldon.

Chrysler's Railroad

This could be a scandal of epic proportions and one that makes Nixon's Watergate or Clinton's Monica Lewinsky affair pale by comparison. Why was there neither rhyme nor reason as to which dealerships of the Chrysler Corporation were to be closed? Roll the clock back to the weeks just before Chrysler declared bankruptcy. Chrysler, like GM, was in dire financial straights and federal government graciously offered to "buy the company" and keep them out of bankruptcy and "save jobs." Chrysler was, in the words of Obama and his administration, "Too big to fail," same story with GM.

The feds organized their "Automotive Task Force" to fix Chrysler and GM. Obama, in an act that is 100% unconstitutional, appointed a guy named Steve Rattner to be the White House's official Car Czar- literally, that's what his title is. Rattner is the liaison between Obama, Chrysler, and GM.

Initially, the national media reported that Chrysler had made this list of dealerships. That is not true. The Washington Examiner, Newsmax, Fox New and a host of other news agencies discovered that the list of dealerships was put together by the "Automotive Task Force" headed by no one other then Mr. Steve Rattner. Now the plot thickens. Remember earlier we said earlier that there was neither rhyme nor reason why certain dealerships were closed? Actually there's a very interesting pattern as to who was closed down. Again, on May 27, 2009, The Washington Examiner and Newsmax exposed the connection. Amazingly, of the 789 dealerships closed by the federal government 788 had donated money, exclusively, to Republican political causes, while contributing nothing to Democratic political causes. The only "Democratic" dealership on the list was found to have donated $7,700 to Hillary's campaign, and a bit over $2,000 to John Edwards. This same dealership, reportedly , also gave $200.00 to Obama's campaign. Does that seem a little odd to you?

Steve Rattner, the guy who put the list together. Well he happens to be married to a babe named Maureen White. Maureen happens to be the former national finance chairman of the Democratic National Committee. As such, she would have access to campaign donation records from everyone in the nation, Republican or Democrat. But of course, this is just a wacky coincidence, we're certain.

Then comes another really wacky coincidence. On that list of dealerships being closed down, a weird thing happed in Arkansas, North Louisiana, and Southern Missouri. It seems that Bill Clinton's former White House Chief of Staff, Mack McClarty, owns a chain of dealership in that region, partnered with a fellow by the name of Robert Johnson. Johnson happens to be founder of Black Entertainment Television and was a huge Obama supporter and financier. These guys own a half dozen Chrysler stores under the company title of RLJ-McClarty-Landers. Interestingly, none of their dealerships were ordered closed - not one- while all of their competing Chrysler/Dodge and Jeep dealership were! Eight dealerships located near the dealerships owned by McClarty and Johnson were ordered shut down. Thus, by pure luck, these two major Obama supporters now have virtual monopoly on Chrysler sales in their zone. Isn't that amazing? Go look in The Washington Examiner, the story's th ere, and it's in a dozen or so other web-based news organization, this isn't being made up.

Now if you thought Chrysler was owned by Fiat, you are truly mistaken. Under the federal court ruling, 65% of Chrysler is now owned by the federal government and the United Auto Worker's union- Fiat owns 20%. The other 15% is till privately owned and presumably will be traded on the stock market. Obama smiles and says he doesn't want to run the auto industry.

As horrifying as this is to comprehend, and being as how this used to be the United States of America, it would appear that the president has the power to destroy private businesses and eliminate upwards of 100,000 jobs, just because they don't agree with his political agenda. This is Nazi Germany stuff, and it's happening right here, right now, in your back yard. There are voices in Washington demanding an explanation, but the "Automotive Task Force" has released no information to the public or any of the senators demanding answers for what has been done. Keep your ear to the ground for more on this story. If you've ever wanted to make a difference about anything in your life, get on the phone to your national senator or representative in the House and demand an investigation on this.

Benjamin Franklin had it right when he said, "All that's necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

Car Czar No More

An amazing thing happed as this story was going to press. Obama's Car Czar, Steve Rattner, resigned on July 13 and was promptly replaced by former steel workers union boss Ron Bloom. According to CBS News, Rattner left "to return to private life and spend time with his family." Treasure Secretary Tim Geithner said, "I hope that he takes another opportunity to bring his unique skills to government service in the future." By the way, Rattner is under investigation for a multi-million dollar pay-to-play investment bank scandal in New York. Uh-oh! But, we're certain that had nothing to do with his resignation. And, according to several news sources out there, there are rumors he's being investigated for what could be pay-to-play scandal involving the closing of Chrysler and GM dealerships. Really? Again, that couldn't have anything to with his resignation- that's ridiculous! Like CBS said, this guy just wants to spend more quality time with his family. Obama ha s thirty-two personally appointed "czars" that answer to no one but him, all of whom are acting without any Constitutional authority. But hey, we're sure they all have "unique skills," as Tim Geithner likes to say.

Princess Anne Stops Recycling Pickup

Joe,

I live in Princess Anne. I just went out to get my recycling bin and there was a note in it telling residents that there will be no more recycling pick up. This is due to budget cuts. It states that we can take it ourselves to the dump or transfer station. Is driving a pick up truck and trailer around town once a week that expensive???

Why not just make it every other week or even once a month. Oh wait that would make too much sense. I know that there are people that recycle and don't have access to a way to the transfer station or live near or go by any. So now these people will just have to throw recycling in the trash and the town will have to pay for more weight at the dump? Maybe I am not understanding the expense of this but surely there is something that could be cut that would not hurt the environment such as dinners out, laptops? Just a thought.

Trivia Question

If you look at the photo above, which County Council Members are actually in the wrong position?

Let's see how many of you follow DAYTIME County Council Meetings on PAC 14.

Louise Smith, Gary Comegys & Shanie Shields Don't Care About Your Personal Safety

Last night in a City Council Work session Louise, Gary & Shanie refused to budge from the rules of order enforcing/demanding that each citizen give their name and address when they address the Council at regular Council Meetings.

Stick with me for just a second while I share with you some of my past and in the end you'll realize that is absolutely relates to the subject at hand.

One way to find an apartment when I was younger in the Bronx was to follow the obituaries. If someone passed away locally, you'd call the Super of the Building and ask if the apartment would be up for rent. No need to wait until they ran an ad. That being said, the biggest time for robberies, (this is the truth) would be when you'd read an Obituary, the burglar would see the time and date of the funeral and they'd go break into that home/apartment when everyone was away. It was a way of life and Salisbury is no longer any different, crime wise.

OK, getting back to the topic at hand. I say, IF everyone has to give their name and address LIVE on PAC 14, advertising they are NOT at home, especially women, I say each and every Monday night we also advertise Louise Smith's home address, (which is a matter of public record) as well as everyone else's on Council. Mind you, please don't get any ideas from the information above but one has to wonder at this very moment as Gary, Shanie and Louise read this Post, how they're feeling right now. Are THEY concerned all of a sudden that the wrong kind of people might get the wrong kind of ideas?

I say this because that's EXACTLY what they're setting the citizens up for if they're forced to give out this very personal and private information. I say, if they are forced to do so, be sure to give everyone else's address on the Council just as soon as you're finished with yours and make the playing field fair and square.

Shanie Shields, Gary Comegys and Louise Smith stated Tuesday night they wanted things exactly as they are. It's not good enough that your hand written address is on the sign in sheet. However, IF ONE THING HAPPENS to any one of these people along the way, sue the crap out of the City of Salisbury. They demanded this, they're responsible for the end result. I wonder how Gary will feel knowing his Wife is at home alone while Gary is away and won't be home for hours. Are you feeling me now Gary. It's NOT fair. It's NOT right and you seem to be playing a childish game, one in which I truly feel will not be well received in the end all in the name of power.

Let's stop playing games Louise and respect the taxpayers willing to come forward. However, if it is your goal to STOP people from attending and speaking their mind at Council Meetings, well, you're well on your way towards success. Shanie Shields stated the public is fortunate that they are allowed to speak at these meetings, as if they can easily take that privilege away.

I don't know about you Folks but Salisbury News has grown so much, moves like this will destroy their chances of ever running for Office again. If we hadn't proven this in the past election, just wait until the next election and watch what happens. The Daily Times is a has been and no one will follow their lead any more. Well, most won't anyway.

I'd think again about this one Louise as the citizens have every right to give out YOUR address when they approach the Council, as it is a matter of public record. It's advertised right on the City's Website. TWO can play the game and you better believe we're concerned for our safety in the 9th Most Dangerous City in America, are you?

Can WBOC Predict Bike Week?

With Severe Weather Alerts popping up all over WBOC, will Dennis HELP Bike Week with such scare tactics, or will many stay away from the Eastern Shore in fear of spending the weekend under a highway overpass to avoid all the severe flooding?
Inquiring minds want to know Dennis?

Cell Phone Information

This lady has changed her habit of how she lists her names on her cell phone after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet... etc...was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your text asking about our Pin number and I replied a little while ago.'

When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account.

Moral of the lesson:

Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list.

Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Dad , Mom, etc..... And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts, CONFIRM by calling back!!

Also, when you're being text by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.

Along with that if you have an entry called 'Home' with your actual home phone number, it's not too hard to do a reverse lookup on the number to find the address. Now the robber has your home number, keys, and address. If you have the entry of 'Home' in your phone, you may want to consider changing that to something else.

Shooting In Pocomoke

There was a shooting in Pocomoke Monday night at the 800 block of 2nd street, near Bonneville Ave.

A man was shot once in the leg and is still at PRMC expecting to recover. The victim has not been cooperative with the Pocomoke Police and or the County Police. More to come?

UPDATE: The shooter was seen back at this same location Tuesday night and Police chased him but were unsuccessful in getting him. HOWEVER, two good things happened from this. One is, they now know exactly who the shooter is. Hopefully we'll have a name and photo some time Wednesday. The second good part is, the shooter dropped his weapon while being chased and the Police now have it in their possession. It's only a matter of time.

On a final note, there was a OD at a Christian Shelter in Pocomoke last night. It was a DOA when they arrived.

Will You STOP With The SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS!

WBOC is constantly promoting SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS, which is complete BS! I'm telling you, if there's ANY sign of rain, they throw out this warning, as if the sky is falling, LOOK AT MEEEEE!

Guess what, it's going to rain today. Will we have "severe flooding," I highly doubt it but it will severely flood somewhere in the world today, it just won't be here.

The Weather Staff needs to realize, they are NOT Breaking News all the time, simply because it's raining.

When I hear a radio making one of those really annoying sounds for EMERGENCY, then and only then will there be a SEVERE WEATHER ALERT! Until then, shut up already, will ya!

The Guiding Light Burns Out This Friday

Joe,

You know I don't care much for soap operas but I think this is a fairly noteworthy happening.

A little history first:

“Guiding Light”- then known only as "Light" was created by soap matriarch Irna Phillips (who also masterminded “As the World Turns” and “Days of Our Lives,” now NBC’s lone daytime drama). It debuted on NBC radio in 1937 as a 15-minute serial, then came to CBS television on June 30, 1952. (Yet another Phillips creation, “The Brighter Day,” began on radio in 1948, then began its eight-year TV run in 1954.)

In 1968, “Guiding Light” expanded to 30 minutes and, in 1977, it became a full hour. Guiding Light currently holds the record for the longest running TV program in the Guiness Book of World Records.

On Friday, 9/18/09, Guiding Light will air for the last time. For many, the Guiding Light has been a part of their lives as they grew up. To those people it will be like saying goodbye to a childhood friend. Indeed, many hearts will be heavy as they turn of the "Light" for the last time.

Wicomico County Employees Unite On Salisbury News & Make A Difference

Last Friday we posted THIS ARTICLE as a poll to determine YOUR choice, furlough or pay reduction.

The article brought in 84 comments and this doesn't include the other two articles we produced that same day. I did send links to all three articles to Rick Pollitt and clearly your voices were heard.

On Tuesday the County Council voted to TABLE their decision to leave room for more discussion on the matter and quite frankly Folks, TOGETHER we are making a difference.

When others talk about influence, well, we post it, you comment on it, the politicians are clearly listening and together, (all of us) make far better educated decisions.

I'm glad we ALL finally have a place to be heard and I can only hope you continue to get involved so again, together, we can all make a positive difference. Congratulations Wicomico County Employees.

Frontpage Interview’s guest Victor Davis Hanson sheds light on the unfolding drama of a president whose unpopular proposals threaten to ruin his popularity.

FP: Victor Davis Hanson, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

I’d like to talk to you today about Obama’s retreat on healthcare and the hit he is taking in the polls.

The President has announced that his administration may abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run insurance as part of a new health care system.

Your take on this retreat? What’s the significance here?

Hanson: Obama has discovered that his statist proposals are more unpopular than he is popular. But more importantly, dozens of Democratic Congress people sent a message to him that they simply cannot run next year in their purple districts on cap-and-trade energy taxes, $2 trillion deficits, socialized medicine, and higher taxes, with periodic gaffes like the Sotomayor "wise Latina" cut and the Gates "stupidly" fiasco. At some point, they made the decision that hope and change was being trumped by town hall meetings and as a result are making the necessary adjustments on healthcare.

If Obama is wise, he will do a little tinkering, and declare victory, and it will all go the way of Hillary-care. Then we will see whether Obama has a Clinton 1994 moment or prefers to go the Jimmy Carter oblivion route. Even more importantly is the President's reaction to the setback, whether he will smile and move on, or lash out at "them" who "raised the bar" on him in a 'downright mean" way.

FP: What is your view of the town hall protestors and their effectiveness?

Hanson: Well, they are less provocative than Code Pink, Moveon.org, and Michael Moore, who until this year were canonized as principled dissidents. Pelosi et al. once upon a time thought the boisterous anti-Bush demonstrators were reflective of the finest tradition of American protest. I'm sure our President, the ex-community organizer, would agree. As long as the town-hallers are non-violent and allow meetings to proceed as planned, I think they are admirable participants in direct democracy. Note they are increasingly non-partisan, but more representative of a senior cohort who fear Medicare will be looted for many of those who choose not to purchase catastrophic healthcare plans, illegal aliens, and others who make decisions for a variety of reasons not to acquire a private plan.

FP: So you believe that Obama’s Healthcare plans are, ultimately, doomed to fail?

MIKULSKI KIlled Bill To Block ACORN Funding

Sen. David Vitter (R-Louisiana) tried to stand up for civil society and taxpayers last week but his effort was shot down.

Vitter tried to prevent the radical direct-action group, ACORN, and its affiliates from benefitting under the odious national service legislation known as the (proposed) GIVE Act. The bill itself would dramatically expand the feel-good liberal program, AmeriCorps, which ACORN and other groups have used to promote their own political objectives.

Vitter’s amendment to the bill known as HR1388 would have prevented ACORN from receiving funding under the legislation and from participating in any program involving the use of government-sponsored volunteers.

Vitter noted in a press release that ACORN is currently under federal investigation, and this is simply not the sort of organization that should be funded by taxpayer dollars. Although this bill prevents the use of funds for political activities, a loophole exists that would allow volunteers sponsored by the federal government to work on behalf of ACORN, freeing up ACORN workers to engage in voter registration activities. The fact that ACORN has been caught engaging in a number of suspect activities is of even more concern. [emphasis added]

On the Senate floor March 26, Vitter explained further, saying of his amendment:
It says no money under this program could go to ACORN or any of its affiliates. Although it is about that one organization, I think the amendment goes to the heart of this debate.

A lot of us are concerned this bill could politicize and put too much Government involvement in charitable work across the country.

Some folks may like ACORN, other folks may not, but nobody can argue that ACORN isn’t at its core political and ideological. It should not get money under this program. The language in the bill that says you can’t do political activity with the money clearly isn’t good enough, because ACORN and other very political and ideological groups would simply have charitable offshoots that could accept the money and be underwritten indirectly in that way.

Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Maryland), long a friend of ACORN, objected. She made a motion to kill Vitter’s amendment, saying “I think this is an amendment that has no purpose and [sic] has Draconian consequences if passed.” Senators agreed, voting 53 to 43 to kill the amendment.

The original version of HR1388 passed by the House contained an amendment offered by Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-North Carolina) that prohibited organizations involved in “engaged in political or legislative advocacy” from receiving funding.

But two left-wing pressure groups distorted Foxx’s amendment and demanded its removal. “The First Amendment protects against speech restrictions such as those in [this] amendment,” said OMB Watch. The Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest said Foxx’s amendment was “anti-nonprofit” and “anti-democratic,” and added that “civic participation is the touchstone of American democracy.”

Of course, their arguments were nonsense because groups are not required to take funding from the government, but Sen. Mikulski did ACORN’s bidding, filing a substitute bill in the Senate that took out Foxx’s provisions.

The bill could be taken up again by the House at any time and be on its way to President Obama’s desk for his signature.

On The Subject Of Colonoscopies....

Colonoscopies are no joke, but these comments during the exam were quite humorous..... A physician claimed that the following are actual comments made by his patients (predominately male) while he was performing their colonoscopies:

1. 'Take it easy, Doc. You're boldly going where no man has gone before!'

2. 'Find Amelia Earhart yet?'

3. 'Can you hear me NOW?'

4. 'Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?'

5. 'You know, in Arkansas , we're now legally married.'

6. 'Any sign of the trapped miners, Chief?'

7.. 'You put your left hand in, you take your left hand out...'

8. 'Hey! Now I know how a Muppet feels!'

9. 'If your hand doesn't fit, you must quit!'

10. 'Hey Doc, let me know if you find my dignity.'

11. 'You used to be an executive at Enron, didn't you?'

12. 'God, now I know why I am not gay.'

And the best one of all:

13. 'Could you write a note for my wife saying that my head is not up there?'

Neighborhood Safety Tips For Parents

Unfortunately no neighborhood is completely immune to crime. According to the National Crime Prevention Association, there are steps you can take to help keep your family and your neighborhood safe.

Know where your children are. Have your children tell you or ask permission before leaving the house and give them a time to check in or be home. When possible, have them leave a phone number of where they will be.

Help children learn important phone numbers. Have your children practice reciting their home phone number and address, and your work and cell phone numbers. If they have trouble memorizing these, write them down on a card and have them carry it at all times. Tell your children where you will be and the best way to reach you.

Set limits on where your children can go in your neighborhood. Do you want them crossing busy roads? Playing in alleys or abandoned buildings? Are there certain homes in your neighborhood that you don't want your children to go to?

Get to know your children's friends. Meet their parents before letting your children to go to their home and keep a list of their phone numbers. If you can't meet their parents, call and talk to them. Ask what your children might do at their house and if they will be supervised.

Choose a safe house in your neighborhood. Pick a neighbor's house where your children can go if they need help. Point out other places they can go for help, like stores, libraries, and police stations.

Teach children to settle arguments with words, not fists. Role-play talking out problems, walking away from fist fights, and what to do when confronted with bullies. Remind them that taunting and teasing can hurt friends and make enemies.
Work together with your neighbors. Watch out for suspicious and unusual behavior in your neighborhood. Get to know your neighbors and their children so you can look out for one another.

ACORN Illegally Operating In Maryland

Last week, we saw some pretty disturbing activities revealed in the undercover footage from ACORN Housing’s Baltimore office. By any measure of conduct, the actions of ACORN’s employees should never have happened. It turns out the actions shouldn’t have happened for another, very simple, reason: ACORN can’t legally operate in the state of Maryland.

According to the following documents, ACORN, Inc.–the parent organization of all things ACORN–forfeited its corporate charter in Maryland in 2006. ACORN Housing forfeited its corporate charter in 2008. Any ACORN office in the state of Maryland is potentially operating illegally.

The Maryland Attorney General has made noise about prosecuting the intrepid journalists who undercovered the misdeeds of ACORN employees. Perhaps he should focus instead on how ACORN was able to operate without a license in his state.

WALMART INTERVIEW

Jennifer a manager at Wal-Mart had the task of hiring someone to fill a job opening.. After sorting through a stack

of 20 resumes she found four people who were equally qualified. Jennifer decided to call the four in and ask

them only one question. Their answer would determine which of them would get the job.

The day came and as the four sat

around the conference room table, Jennifer asked, 'What is the fastest thing you know of?'

The first man replied, 'A THOUGHT.' It just pops into your head. There's no warning.

'That's very good!' replied Jennifer.

'And, now you sir?', she asked the second man.

'Hmmm....let me see 'A blink! It comes and goes and you don't know that it ever happened.. A BLINK is the fastest thing I know of.'

'Excellent!' said Jennifer. 'The blink of an eye, that's a very popular cliche for speed.' She then turned to the third

man, who was contemplating his reply..

'Well, out at my dad's ranch, you step out of the house and on the wall there's a light switch.. When you flip that switch, way out across the pasture the light on the barn comes on in less than an instant. 'Yip, TURNING ON A LIGHT is the fastest thing I can think of'.

Jennifer was very impressed with the third answer and thought she had found her man. 'It 's hard to beat the speed of light,' she said.

Turning to BUBBA, the fourth and final man, Jennifer posed the same question.

Old Bubba replied, 'After hearing the previous three answers, it's obvious to me that the fastest thing known is DIARRHEA.'

'WHAT!?' said Jennifer, stunned by the response...

'Oh sure', said BUBBA. 'You see, the other day I wasn't feeling so good, and I ran for the bathroom, but before I could THINK, BLINK, or TURN ON THE LIGHT, I had already crapped my pants.'

BUBBA is now the new greeter at a Wal-Mart near you!

You probably will think of this every time you enter a Wal-Mart from now on.

Budget Info Meeting Postponed

Dear Recreation & Parks Stakeholder,

The process to reduce Wicomico County’s budget is complicated and ever changing. These changing dynamics will influence the extent to which County departments will absorb their fair share of the pending funding cuts.

It is the Department of Recreation & Parks intention to be transparent throughout this process. Unfortunately, until an exact amount to be cut from the budget is determined, it would be premature for us to meet with our stake holders. This has prompted me to postpone Wednesday evening’s (9/16/09) meeting. Our time and resources are valuable and should be reserved until the details are finalized.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to recommit yourselves to the Recreation & Parks mission. Know that we value what you do for our County and will communicate with you as the information is finalized for us.

Obama To Prey On Young People/Libs Like Cents & Chuck

Young adults key to financing health reform
With mandatory coverage, group could effectively subsidize their parents

As health-care legislation advances through Congress, the young adults who were so vital to President Obama's election are emerging as a significant beneficiary of his top domestic priority, but they are also likely to play a major role in funding any reform.

In a campaign-style rally Thursday at the University of Maryland at College Park, Obama will aim to tap his richest vein of support -- voters younger than 30 -- to help sell his reform plan to a more skeptical general public. "We're at an important turning point in our push for real reform," read the e-mailed invitation, "and it's critical that we seize this moment."

A 2008 study by the Urban Institute found that more than 10 million young adults ages 19 to 26 lack health insurance coverage. For many of those people, health-care reform would offer the promise of relatively inexpensive individual policies, which do not exist in many states today.

SENATE HEALTH CARE BILL

While we still do not have the details of Senator Baucus' health care proposal, what has leaked out, has me deeply concerned. It evidently will make it a crime for an individual to not purchase insurance, punishable by a $3,500 fine. Does that mean we will have special courts set up to hear each case, as, I think, prior to punishing someone they still are entitled to a hearing, in this country? I guess they are calling it a fine as otherwise it would be a tax on the middle class.

It is also proposed, if I heard it right, that a tax will be imposed on private health care insurers and medical equipment manufacturers. Will that not further drive up the cost of private insurance and medical treatment? So 85% of the population will pay more in order to insure 9% which would still leave 6% uninsured.

They claim to have reduced the cost to $880 billion. How did this miracle occur? They simply will make the states pick up the difference. This is commonly referred to as an unfunded mandate. Perhaps congress believes the states have money hidden away. They should know that, unlike the federal government, states can not print money. For this the states will have to raise taxes, but it wont be Obama. I can hardly wait to see the details to find what else these fine people are planning.

Italy Mob Allegedly Dumps Ships Of Toxic Waste

Robot sub hunts for clues off Calabrian coast after turncoat’s allegation

ROME
- Italian authorities have dispatched a robot submarine with a video camera to a shipwreck off the Calabrian coast to see if if it's carrying radioactive waste dumped by the mob in a lucrative disposal racket.

Calabrian prosecutor Bruno Giordano has cautioned in TV interviews that that until the contents of containers on the sunken ship are known, he can't say if the allegations by a mob turncoat about the ship are true.

The robot sub began filming Saturday. On Tuesday, it was still unclear what the cargo held, or even if the ship was the Cunsky cargo vessel that turncoat Francesco Fonti has spoken about to magistrates and in interviews on Italian TV.

State Department Web Site Panders To Radical Islamists

The United States government's stepped-up courting of Islamist groups is on display at the State Department Web portal www.america.gov. The site bills itself as a place to "meet the people" and "explore the values and ideas that define the character of the United States."

But when it comes to American Muslim organizations, that often means providing a U.S. government stamp of approval to organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) or apologists like the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC).

During the Cold War, government bureaus like the United States Information Agency worked to counter disinformation by driving home the point that freedom and democracy are superior to communism and tyranny. But Zuhdi Jasser, head of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, says that in today's struggle with radical Islam, the U.S. government is doing something very different — even perverse.

It aids and abets groups like CAIR and ISNA in anointing themselves representatives of all American Muslims — though many Muslims want nothing to do with the Islamists.

Jasser singles out the State Department’s 64-page booklet "Being Muslim in America" as an example of what is wrong. The publication is "like Pravda. It's all about how Muslims in America are motherhood and apple pie," Jasser said he recently told a State Department official. "It's like the Muslim community has no warts" or divisions.

Nothing could be further from the truth, Jasser said. In presenting this monolithic, idyllic picture of Muslims, the State Department ignores inconvenient facts like the intra-Muslim debate over imposition of Shariah, and Muslims' larger relationship with non-Muslims, Jasser told IPT News.

The following examples from the www.America.gov site in recent weeks illustrate the problem:

BILL TO AUDIT THE FEDERAL RESERVE - VOTE NEXT WEEK

URGE SENATOR MIKULSKI TO CO-SPONSOR S.604

The Federal Reserve Transparency and Sunshine Acts of 2009 will force the Federal Reserve to furnish Congress and the American people with an account of spending 12 trillion in bailout dollars. Until now the FED has refused this information. No one knows where our money is or what it is doing. Chairman Bernanke claims that efforts to disclose such informantion are 'counterproductive'.

Ask Senator Mikulski to cosponsor the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act (S. 604).
D .C. (202) 224-4654 Salisbury (410) 546-7711

Senator Benjamin Cardin and Congressman Kratovil have already signed on as co-sponsors.

Please thank them and ask that they urge a ROLL CALL VOTE.

Cardin D.C. (201) 224-4524 Salisbury (410) 546-4250
Kratovil D.C. (202) 225-5311 Salisbury (410) 334-3072

There is a small window of opportunity to see that the Federal Reserve Sunshine Act is passed in the Senate. No issue is more urgent, more bipartisan or more pivotal to restoring liberty than providing genuine transparency and accountability at the Fed.

Leading economists point to the Federal Reserve's loose monetary policies as the primary culprit of the financial collapse. Congress created the Federal Reserve and it is their responsibility to ensure the Fed is meeting its Congressional mandates. Many consider this semi-public/private institution at the heart of government corruption, un-Constitutional policies, transfers of wealth and infringements on personal liberty. Your search for the panacea of political ailments is found in the bill to audit the Federal Reserve. To sign the petition, click here: http://www.auditthefed.com.
