WBOC Wins Our AOTW Award

FLOOD WARNING???????

This is why there is a flood warning....not rain but tides, in my opinion as long as bikers do not use st louis ave they would never even know about the high tides...

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 9 PM EDT THURSDAY. A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING.

THE PRESSURE GRADIENT BETWEEN HIGH PRESSURE LOCATED OVER NEW ENGLAND AND LOW PRESSURE OVER THE INTERIOR SOUTHEAST STATES WILL TIGHTEN TODAY. MEANWHILE...A BACK-DOOR COLD FRONT WILL DROP SOUTH THROUGH THE MID ATLANTIC REGION AND NORTHEAST TO EAST ONSHORE FLOW WILL SET UP BEHIND THE FRONT. THESE CONDITIONS COMBINED WITH THE COMING NEW MOON CYCLE WILL RESULT IN MINOR COASTAL FLOODING AT THE NORTHERN MARYLAND BEACHES...DURING THE HIGH TIDE CYCLES BEGINNING TONIGHT...THEN AGAIN ON THURSDAY MORNING AND EVENING. IN ADDITION...THERE IS A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS THROUGH THIS EVENING.

HERE ARE THE TIMES OF THE HIGH TIDES: OCEAN CITY INLET...6:19 PM
THIS EVENING...6:58 AM THURSDAY MORNING...AND 7:27 PM THURSDAY EVENING.

  4. I don't see any flood warnings on the weather channel site... Must be a fabrication to keep tourism at bay.

  5. Dont' they just pass along the NOAA weather advisories? They're the same things you get if you have a weather radio, delivered in a robot voice.

  6. Maybe I am an idiot, but what is aotw, is it a good or bad thing?

  7. Should this go to the National Weather Service and/or NOAA too since they are the ones that set these? It's one thing if WBOC or whoever suggest this might happen, but aren't these set by people elsewhere?

Plus, isn't it better safe than sorry? You know darn well if something happen with the weather and there were no alerts or anything, everyone would scream from the rooftops about how the weather people missed it.

  11. I am watching 16 this morning. The "Coastal Flood" map up on the screen has Delaware colored all the way to the Maryland Line, and Worcester County all the way to the Wicomico line.
I guess if you want to travel 13 or 113 through Delaware, you'd better wait a week.

Really? Is it so bad that you have to resort to name calling? Very childish!
