Greenbranch Organic Farm
Picture-windows aplenty frame the rows and rows of vegetables, some just starting out and some ready to be picked. There is everything from arugula to zucchini and most everything in between. There are different varieties of pumpkins, winter and summer squash, many different varieties of potatoes, peas, carrots, beats, scallions, onions, garlic, lettuce, spinach, Swiss chard, sweet corn, cucumbers, beans, cantaloupes, strawberries, cabbage, broccoli, collard greens, bok choy and 30 different varieties of tomatoes."
-Monica Fleming
The store has to be one of the best features of the farm. In addition to what ever is in season, you can get a range of other organic and fresh local products. Try the lettuce! Some of the store items are:
-organic gardening supplies
I strongly suggest you stop by and check them out. That one extra stop will be worth it for the freshness and flavor and to know you are eating locally grown organic food. You know, what the hippies eat. Their prices are in line or lower than the grocery store and you are supporting local agriculture and not a national chain.
As the woman who works the store told me:
"Mid-July is really the height of the season, and we'll have several varieties of squash and tomato, watermelon, sweet corn, cukes, peppers, carrots, beans, and more. If you drive by another market and they have watermelon, corn, and tomatoes... they haven 't grown them. A lot of stands buy stuff out of state, and re-sell it, so it's no better than store bought. Those things just aren't in season yet!!!
A Comment Worthy Of Attention And Discussion
But let's put the blame where it belongs more than anything else. The Juvenile System. Juvenile services started out to be for mischief and small crimes and yes an occational crime that probably should have been in adult court. But now, more than ever, the juvenile system is full of kids, playing adult crime and being protected by the Juvenile System. When a kid can do an armed robbery, gun violations including shooting someone or threatening too, rape, molestation and I could go on and on with these serious crimes. The Juvenile System itself needs to be revamped, put capable people in place to carry out the seriousness of these kids being protected by its own system, and take this department back to what it is supposed to do. Don't let these kids and their parents/grandparents hide behind this system and keep the records hidden and these criminals, not kids, protected. These are serious crimes committed by serious criminals that the public should know about. And then, when one passes to adult court, his/her criminal past should be known instead noone ever knows of the serious crimes, the gangs they were and have been associated with.
Again, this is not a Davis Ruark problem. His office does the best that they are allowed to do, it is the Juvenile System that is and has failed. We are not working on a current generation of criminals, we are working in some cases 2, 3 and 4 generations and it is only getting worst.
Schools cannot control the criminals, teachers are not allowed to control the criminals, oh I mean kids and even some turn their backs in order not to know just so they don't have to deal with it. We have lowered the standards so low in order for the kids who were left behind (or just doesn't want to be there) to be considered a No Kid Left Behind, when in fact we have hurt the school system so much that we are not allowing the kids who want to be there to do the best that they are capable of doing. More work goes into handling the problem kid and not teaching. This could go into another whole issue of the Juvenile System with the truancies, but again the system does not work any more. Lets stop finding excuses, hiring more people because we have more juvenile criminals and find a way to make the system work.

EPA's Own Research Expert 'Shut Up' On Climate Change
By Chelsea Schilling© 2009
WorldNetDaily
Environmental Protection Agency officials have silenced one of their own senior researchers after the 38-year employee issued an internal critique of the EPA's climate change position.
Alan Carlin, senior operations research analyst at the EPA's National Center for Environmental Economics, or NCEE, submitted his research on the agency's greenhouse gases endangerment findings and offered a fundamental critique on the EPA's approach to combating CO2 emissions. But officials refused to share his conclusion in an open internal discussion, claiming his research would have "a very negative impact on our office."
His study was barred from circulation within the EPA and was never disclosed to the public for political reasons, according to the Competitive Enterprise Institute, or CEI, a group that has accessed four internal e-mails on the subject.
CEI General Counsel Sam Kazman told WND, "His boss basically told him, 'No, I'm not going to send your study further up. It's going to stay within this bureau.'"
A March 12 e-mail
to Carlin warned him not to have "any direct communication with anyone outside NCEE on endangerment."

The Truth Behind Obama's Health Care Plan
Fact or Fiction? Decoding the President's Prescription for American Health Care
By RICK KLEIN, BRET HOVELL and Z. BYRON WOLF
June 25, 2009—
A fact check on President Obama's main messages of Wednesday night's forum reveal a president eager to make his case to the public -- but sometimes glossing over the thorny details of how to achieve reform.
Fact check no. 1: Health Care Costs Versus Wages
OBAMA BIRTH CERTIFICATE
We've all seen the emails about Obama's citizenship.
This is a new twist I hadn't known. Interesting.
More questions, and this time some good questions.
While I've little interest in getting in the middle of the Obama birth issue, Paul Hollrah over at FSM did so yesterday and believes the issue can be resolved by Obama answering one simple question: What passport did he use when he was shuttling between New York, Jakarta, and Karachi ?
So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981, without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later? And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and Karachi, what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs
and Immigration? The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, they must have answers.
It makes the debate over Obama's citizenship a rather short and simple one.
Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20?
A: Yes, by his own admission.
Q: What passport did he travel under?
A: There are only three possibilities. 1. He traveled with a U.S. Passport, 2) He traveled with a British passport, or 3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport.
Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981? A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department's "no travel" list in 1981.
Conclusion: When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.
If he was traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims. And if he was traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian step-father in 1967.
Whatever the truth of the matter, the American people need to know how he managed to become a "natural born" American citizen between 1981 and 2008.. Given the destructive nature of his plans for America , as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.
Count me in as one of those inquiring minds who'd at least like to know the answers to these easily answered (by Obama) questions.

Ahmadinejad Assails Obama As Opposition Urges Defiance
By Nazila Fathi and Alan Cowell
TEHRAN — As Iran’s embattled opposition leader said he would “not back down for a second” in challenging the disputed elections, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told President Obama on Thursday to avoid interfering in Iran’s affairs and demanded an apology from the American leader for striking the same critical tone as his predecessor, George W. Bush.
The sharp words offered no prospect of eased tensions between Washington and Tehran at a time of profound differences over issues such as Iran’s nuclear program and its support for Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, which the United States calls terrorist organizations.
Mr. Ahmadinejad’s comments, quoted on the semi-official Fars news agency, came as at least three Iranian newspapers reported that only 105 of 290 members of the Iranian Parliament invited to a victory party for him Wednesday night actually attended the event, suggesting a deep divide within the political elite over the election and its aftermath. Neither the speaker of Parliament, Ali Larijani, nor the deputy speaker, Mohammed Reza Bahonar, an erstwhile ally of Mr. Ahmadinejad, made an appearance.
Opposition figures said Thursday that 70 academics had been arrested after meeting with the main opposition leader, Mir Hussein Moussavi, on Wednesday, adding to a wave of detentions that has been depicted as the most sweeping since the Iranian revolution in 1979. But Mr. Moussavi said Thursday in a Web posting: “’I will not back down even for a second, even for personal threats or interests.”
In his first public comments for several days, Mr. Moussavi called the recent election a “big fraud” and said government security forces had “attacked protesters inhumanely, killed, injured or arrested them.” In remarks on an opposition Web site, he said, “I am willing to show how election criminals have stood by those behind the recent riots and shed people’s blood.”

Supreme Court Says Child’s Rights Violated by Strip Search
By DAVID STOUT
WASHINGTON — In a ruling of interest to educators, parents and students across the country, the Supreme Court ruled, 8 to 1, on Thursday that the strip search of a 13-year-old Arizona girl by school officials who were looking for prescription-strength drugs violated her constitutional rights.
The officials in Safford, Ariz., would have been justified in 2003 had they limited their search to the backpack and outer clothing of Savana Redding, who was in the eighth grade at the time, the court ruled. But in searching her undergarments, they went too far and violated her Fourth Amendment privacy rights, the justices said.
Had Savana been suspected of having illegal drugs that could have posed a far greater danger to herself and other students, the strip search, too, might have been justified, the majority said, in an opinion by Justice David H. Souter.
“In sum, what was missing from the suspected facts that pointed to Savana was any indication of danger to the students from the power of the drugs or their quantity, and any reason to suppose that Savana was carrying pills in her underwear,” the court said. “We think that the combination of these deficiencies was fatal to finding the search reasonable.”
In fact, no pills were found on Savana when her underwear was examined by two school officials, both women, who were acting on a tip passed along by another student.
Thursday’s ruling sends the case back to the lower courts to assess what damages, if any, should be paid by the school district. But, by a vote of 7 to 2, the Supreme Court held that the individual officials in the case should not be held liable, because “clearly established law” at the time of the search did not show that it violated the Fourth Amendment.
The portion of the ruling exempting the officials from liability is likely to be greeted with relief by thousands of principals, teachers and other school officials who work to impart knowledge and maintain discipline in a fast-changing world, where children are growing up (or trying to) earlier than ever.
Justice Clarence Thomas was the only member of the court to conclude that the strip search of Savana Redding did not violate the Fourth Amendment. He asserted that the majority’s finding second-guesses the measures that educators take to maintain discipline “and ensure the health and safety of the students in their charge.”
The majority said it meant to cast “no ill reflection” on the assistant principal who ordered the search. “Parents are known to overreact to protect their children from danger, and a school official with responsibility for safety may tend to do the same,” Justice Souter wrote.
But Justices John Paul Stevens and Ruth Bader Ginsburg did not agree, and would not have protected the officials from liability. Justice Ginsburg singled out the assistant principal, noting that he had made Savana sit on a chair outside his office for more than two hours.
“At no point did he attempt to call her parent,” Justice Ginsburg wrote. “Abuse of authority of that order should not be shielded by official immunity.”

Town Of Hebron Not Playing Well With The MDE!
Hebron is clearly having issues with the MDE on their WWTP and Landfill. The ten day deadline is now up and so far I can't find out if Hebron paid up or it is going to the Attorney General.
The bigger question is, when they just passed an UNbalanced budget last Wednesday, how does Hebron plan to pay this fine of $6,000.00. Also, they presumably had the MDE
letter re: fine, so why wasn't it included in that budget?
More to come, I'm sure.
UPDATE: Mr. Pushkar has just advised: "The Department's position is that the problem was corrected prior to the mailing of the June 10 letter."

Hearts Away, Bombs Away By Vince Gisriel, Jr.
In 2003 I lost two of my grandparents. As I stood at her bedside, my maternal grandmother passed away on Aug 12, 2003 leaving my widowed grandfather. Two months later, to the date, my paternal grandfather passed away on October 12, 2003 (also my parent’s 25th wedding anniversary). I often sit with my maternal grandfather (age 92) for hours at a time, listening to him repeat old stories, jokes, and current events. His wisdom is not overwhelming but every so often he interjects a “new story” that continually fascinates me. Not to mention I (apparently) have his hairline and at age 92 he has a full head of beautiful hair, and he would want me to add, all his teeth!
Growing up, I never really listened to my Grandparents. My Parents had their opinions of my Grandparents & being one of six children, to be honest, I never really had the attention span to filter through the words to take anything away of significance. My Mother’s parents were ultra religious and my Father’s parent’s were “quiet”. My paternal grandmother, Martha Owens Gisriel passed away in 1978 (when I was 4 yrs. old) and my grandfather, Vincent dePaul Gisriel, Sr. was VERY reserved. He enjoyed a stiff drink and brown paper cigarettes; More’s… honestly the only cigarette smoker ever allowed to “light up” in my Mother’s house. Growing up in Ocean City, MD, it was a small town and by the time my family moved to “the beach”… my Grandfather and his new bride, had retired and lived there, year round.
I would run into my Grandfather every once in awhile but we didn’t have a great relationship. He enjoyed playing cards at the American Legion, going to Atlantic City, and I knew very little about him. Until, unfortunately he passed away. Stories of this heroic WWII veteran, and devout religious man began to emerge. There was a HUGE article in the Baltimore Sun, with his wartime picture announcing “WWII hero dies at age 89”… WHAT??? …my Granddad (as we called him)… no way… I mean, we knew he was in the war… but a HERO??? Like so many of his day, he NEVER talked about it. Not to me, my father, my siblings, or anyone. My older brother wrote a paper and interviewed him when we were in high school and I remember seeing some old pictures but that was it.
At his viewing, funeral and wake, I began to hear stories of letters that were written back and forth from Martha & Vince (Sr.) during his time, serving “his duty”. A box of medals, pins and military memorabilia was passed around and my father announced that we may each have one, to remember our Grandfather by. A few years earlier, while cleaning out some of his belongings, I came across a military coat that was his and I acquired it. All I have that belonged to my Grandfather’s was a pin, coat and distant memories of how I remembered him.
Until… my Father, Vincent dePaul Gisriel, Jr. retired from a local political career and began to dig up the history of his father and mother. He traveled around the country doing research, read over 1,100 letters to and from my Grandparents and wrote a book about it.
He says he started off writing a war story but discovered an incredible love story along the way. I encourage you to discover for yourself, one of the most remarkable stories I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Not only did I discover more about my “roots” than you could ever imagine, but I learned so much about mankind and our ability to express how we should love those that are close to us.
http://www.heartsawaybombsaway.com & by the way, the pin that I picked up at his wake, is on the cover of the book.
A couple new organizations have already caught on. He had his first booking signing on Monday in Baltimore & he is in Malibu for a book signing at Diesel Book Store tomorrow night.

Kent County Did Something The Rest Of America Should Consider
Every day, 2,500 teenagers use a prescription drug to get high for the first time. Prescription drugs out ranked the use of marijuana as the most used drug by youth age 15-17 in the United States. 74% of inpatient treatment by adolescents is because of prescription drug use vs. illicit drugs or even alcohol.
Kent County is not immune. Our community is seeing a higher incidence of prescription drug abuse as indicated in a recent article by the Chester River Hospital Center. The Emergency Department personnel attest to the rise in youth who present with overdose symptoms. Hospital personnel, on occasion, have to use progressive measures to restore normal body rhythms.
The Kent County Adolescent Substance Abuse Coalition (ASAC), Kent County Behaviroal Health (KCBH) and the Kent County Sheriff’s Office spent the last few months “rounding up” prescription drugs by providing drop-off locations throughout the county. A deputy sheriff was stationed for 2 to 3 hours on a given date in Betterton, Galena, Millington, Rock Hall and Chestertown as well as Heron Point, to give citizens an opportunity to return expired or unused prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs to law enforcement…no questions asked…to reduce the availability of prescription drugs. The most common place for youth to acquire these drugs is in their own home.
On June 16th at 11:00 a.m. the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with ASAC and KCBH, welcomes the public to an event to demonstrate the results of the Rx Roundups as we send these drugs on for proper disposal.
The public is invited to come and join us for the media event and view the amount of drugs collected. Members of the Adolescent Substance Abuse Coalition and the Kent County Sheriff’s Office will be present to speak briefly about our efforts. In addition, Michael Koscinski, Project Officer of the Drug Free Communities Support Program operating from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) will be in attendance as well.
Brooke Mulford Update
Good morning everyone it’s me Brookie. I do not have a lot of energy and it has been a very long few days of feeling very yucky. Friday morning can not get here fast enough. I really do not feel like talking, because it hurts Brookie very badly at this point. I am just going to let Daddy bring you all up to speed, ok? I miss all my friends and my Bailey Dog very much, I am praying I can come home very soon but I know I still have awhile to go. I do know that Team Brooke is out there giving it’s all and that makes Brookie feel very good. I love you all and will be back feeling better very soon! Brooke
Hi everyone, God Bless you all for the Love and Support you are providing Brooke with right now. I will fill you in what has been going on since Sunday the 21st: On Father’s Day Brooke opened a toy she is allowed to have in her room and she was happy about that. She presented Daddy with a very special card and pencil and pen holder with a picture of the two of us from our last vacation. Brooke also gave me a Wii game called Order Up where you start off in a fast food joint and work your way up to a 4 or 5 star restaurant. Makes me tired just thinking about it. After this Brooke made Father’s Day cards for her Pop Pop Mulford and a very special card for her Great Grandpa Ivins. I went to visit each of them shortly after this and the one card was very special because it brought so much happiness to Great Grandpa Ivins. This was so important because he passed away early Tuesday morning. Brooke’s day also got tough later Sunday afternoon, it was day 3 of Chemo and she started the drug Cyclophosphamide and almost immediately started throwing up. She was still playful, but had to take breaks to get sick. She also now had to start going potty every 2 hours around the clock. (God bless Amy) She got her last dose of Thiotepa but still needs a shower every 4 hours until 6PM Monday. That afternoon Uncle Johnny, Aunt Johanna and Grammy came to visit and brighten her spirits. Later that evening as things were not bad enough Brooke started hallucinating around 10:30PM and it lasted until around 2AM. This was very scary for Amy as she was by her side watching.
Monday the 22nd: In the Am Brooke was playful and enjoyed watching a movie, but as the day went on she did not have much energy. She was not puking as much as Sunday. Eating at this point was pretty much out of the question. At least the showers every 4 hours were over. That was a lot of showers since Friday. The peeing is still going strong every 2 hours.
Tuesday the 23rd: This is where the road started getting very hard. Brooke had to receive a blood transfusion because counts were dropping. She also had an OT (Occupational Therapy) session, but had little energy to participate. She slept most of the afternoon. Then Brooke had an allergic reaction to something and she broke out in a rash. They do not know if it was from the blood transfusion or a Chemo drug. Then after this Brooke came down with a fever which is very scary at this juncture. Poor Amy on pins and needles for hours. The fever finally broke around midnight and every one could sleep for 2 hours until time to pee again.
Wednesday the 24th: This was a very hard day for Brooke and all involved. She was vomiting quite a bit and already has Mucosities. This is expected but not till around 4 days after Transplant. This is where she develops sores in her mouth, throat and digestive tract. She started receiving morphine for the pain. She also still has the rash. Reverend Patterson stopped in to bring an uplifting to Amy and Brooke as only he can do. He knows just when to visit! Brooke showed some life and smiles when Aunt Cheryl, Cousin Brian, Cousin Cassidy and Grammy came to take turns watching and giving Amy a break. Chemo is now over, 7 rounds! Thursday will be a day of rest and recovery to get ready for Friday’s Transplant. Well that is where Brooke stands at this moment. Please keep the prayers coming as we head into the big day. Brooke is very weak, very sick and all counts are very low. Everything is critical at this point. Please ask in your prayers to continue the Lord to give Amy this amazing strength to be the rock that Brooke draws her strength from. I will be heading up later tomorrow and thru the weekend and on Monday attend the funeral for my Grandfather for if it was not for this man I would not be the person I am today or ever been able to attend college nor my sister. He lived a good life and was 86 and was able to be at home and not suffer, if we all could be so lucky!

You Decide, Fair Or Not Fair?
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — A North Dakota woman accused of breast-feeding her 6-week-old baby while drunk has pleaded guilty to child neglect. Stacey Anvarinia, 36, could face up to five years in prison when she's sentenced on the felony charge in August.
Judge Sonja Clapp says Anvarinia will not have to register as an offender against children.
Police officers who responded to a domestic disturbance call at Anvarinia's home on April 13 say they saw an intoxicated Anvarinia breast feeding. Health officials say alcohol consumed by breast-feeding mothers can be absorbed into an infant's system.
Attorneys believe it's the first such case prosecuted in North Dakota
Inspector General Fired To Avoid Embarrassing Obamas
WorldNetDaily
Gerald Walpin
A new report reveals that there is substantial evidence that Inspector General Gerald Walpin was fired from his post where he was investigating AmeriCorps funding to avoid embarrassment for President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle.
The report is from Byron York at the Washington Examiner. On his blog, he wrote he interviewed a Republican member of the board for the Corporation for National and Community Service, the overseer for AmeriCorps, a favorite program for the Obamas.
The report said the board discussion was revolving around the St. HOPE program in California, which has been given hundreds of thousands of federal dollars and used it for, among other things, washing cars for Obama friend and Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson.

Tata And Mahindra, Driving Their Cars Into U.S. market, Dream Bollywood Big
A decade ago, few people outside India were aware of the nation's megaconglomerate
Tata Group -- or that India had an auto industry. Today Tata Motors (TTM) makes the cheapest car in the world, the Nano (at right), and has become the world's 19th largest automaker.
With Detroit in critical condition, two Indian carmakers are preparing to drive into the U.S. market: Tata and rival Mahindra & Mahindra (MAHMF). Tata Motors's recent $2.3 billion acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover suggests that the subcontinent has Bollywood-sized dreams -- and the resources to make those dreams come true. Tata's and Mahindra's future here looks very promising, provided they learn to solve an age-old conundrum: that the price of gas tends to rise -- and when it does, so does the popularity of cars that use gas efficiently; and that Americans don't like squeezing into tiny, tinny cars.

There is also another 700+ home project that was brought to the Town Council just recently, (that makes two of them now) just off Rt. 54. However, this project is a little closer to Town.
WARNING SALISBURY RESIDENTS! Consider selling you home NOW! I'm warning you that within 10 year, Delmar will have taken over ALL retail stores as well, it's only a matter of time. Expect to see a Mall Development in the very near future in TAX FREE Delaware.

Think Carefully About What Your Reading
His fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.
He followed her to school each day,
It wasn't even in the rule.
It made the children laugh and play,
To have The Lamb at school..
And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring The Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name!
Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gun shots and tears.
What must we do to stop the crime,
That's in our schools today?
Let's let The Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!
