Construction Accident - Refuge Development In The West Fenwick Area

This is the Refuge at Derrickson Creek development being of Bunting Construction. It is located on DE Route 54 approximately 3 miles West of the coastal highway.

A construction worker fell off roof while installing trusses. As emergency personnel were arriving, it was reported that other workers left in a van. Rescue supported by Roxanna Fire Company and Sussex County. It is unknown where the injured worker was flown to.

  1. Why did they leave, perhaps they are illegals and Bunting is screwing Americans out of jobs, could it be.

  2. How will OSHA ever interview the witnesses?

  3. With an interpreter.

  4. Bunting subcontracts as many do in this area. Not a lot of control he has from his subs outside of whether they do a good job or not. In Bunting's case, he does a really good job in producing a quality product and uses only subs that do.

    Can you say "ILLEGAL ALIEN"

But it's OK, Obama and his supporters don't mind. I wonder how much that helicopter ride and hospitalization is going to cost us working Republicans? Welcome Barry's world of socialized medicine.

  8. I'm sorry, but if I was working on a jobsite, and a co worker got a life threatening injury, I think my day would revert to getting him off to urgent care and then I'd go home to my kids and family. That day is shot in the ass, and I'm not just going on as business as usual. If the people you work with would watch you go down dead and goon with work like nothing happened, maybe you have the wrong co- workers!
I and my crew were struck by lightning on a job one day. we went home at 11:00 am safely, deciding not to tempt fate.
    THINK, PEOPLE!

  9. Lets hear what Bunting has to say. Were they illegal workers or not? I bet they dont have the balls to step forward and answer that question.

  10. Helicopter medi-vac ride = $10,000...

Illegal "subcontracted" workers = $2/hour each...

Watching them scramble and dive into a van as the state police arrive = probably priceless...

  11. I have several friend who have built a life for decades out of the construction trade and do some of the highest quality of work you can find, they are about to loose their homes, businesses and everything they have worked for because they cant find any work. But yet we allow this to continue. Something is going to snap, bank on it.

  14. It is ashame that everyone sits on a blog and puts someone or in this case another construction company down. If any one company subcontracts work out to a "legal American us citizen" that company is not responsible for who that legal one has on his crew. I think most of us and mostly in the construction business are losing their jobs regardless if they are immigrants or not working.
Bunting Construction builds quality homes and have stood behind them. This was a freak accident and who knows if the other crew did leave. That is a report not a confirmed report. We should not be so judge mental!!

  17. Today is May 12, 2011 and nothing has changed. Bunting construction has laid off most of his company due to the tough economic times, but he still drives his BMW to work and screws people out of money.

FYI - He is still subcontracting the Mexicans at rates that no American could live on. You can thank people like him for the downfall of this country. All they care about is their self, with no regard to anything other than putting an extra buck in his pocket.

I'm sure there is a special place in the after life for maggots like him.

Signed, One of the guys laid off because I'm an AMERICAN and need to make a living...not just an existence.
