Wicomico County Schools schedule to bring the kids back

Wicomico County's BOE has a plan and a schedule to bring students back into the classrooms, beginning Monday.

However, Middle and High School students will not be returning to campus, until after the first of the year. While Middle Schoolers are scheduled to return the week of January 4th, High Schoolers will have to wait until the start of the 2nd Semester which isn't until February 2nd.

On October 19th Pre-K returns everyday Except Wednesday!

The week of October 26th, Kindergarten students and some students receiving Special Education services will begin hybrid learning, with students divided into one of two groups for instruction in school two days a week and learning online the other three days. Hybrid learning will allow for recommended physical distancing in classrooms and on buses. Grades 1 and 2 will return the week of November 9th. The other grades will follow with hybrid learning.

Parents and or Guardians will be required to let the school know several weeks in advance of their child's return whether or not they will participate in hybrid classes, or continue with virtual classes. They must also let the school know if the child will be using public school transportation.

The BOE would like you to be aware that the schedule is subject to change based on health metrics and other factors. Donna Hanlin, Superintendent of Schools said, "We continue to communicate and collaborate regularly with the Wicomico County Health Department".

The link below should take you to the complete schedule.

69 to 45 years or younger has 99.8 percent recovery from Covid-19. 70 and older with underline conditions 76 percent recovery. Per cdc. Kids 100 percent.

Hahaha. Only the thuggers will be there. Most parents like myself have found better ways for our kids to get education.

This entire virus was a plan and fraud perpetrated on the People

better think about it, there is an outbreak at eci, a lot of those kids have parents that work there

Two days a week will only hurt the working parents. They'll still have to pay for an entire week of daycare. This all only benefits those that don't work.

There is trash every where. There is not a private school in the three lower counties that hasn’t been touch or rocked by scandal. They are just better at hiding it.

It’s school not a daycare. And teachers aren’t babysitters.

Home School until June 2021 !!!

Dorchester county has brought their kids back. The CTE has had kids since Sept 13th. Not sure why one county can open and the one next door can't. I did here the highschool has already closed for several positive cases. The entire thing is a huge mess. I do worry about covid if secondary infections can make you more sick. There is a 25 yr old who now has caught it twice and is in the hospital his second time. Could be an issue.

Mark my words... The schools will be closed again by January, once cases start popping up among teachers and students.

There is absolutely zero point to sending kids back for this hybrid nonsense. They will have to sit with a mask all day in front of their computers while their teacher is still teaching the other half of the class on Zoom. It needs to be all or nothing. This hurts everyone. Everywhere this is happening it is a crap show.

Watch the numbers go up in November and the school systems will close back down again. I get everyone wants school opened-I do too, but how many plans and changes have they had? I mean, every time I turn around I’m getting another one of those instant messenger or constant contact thing calling. When I go to the website it isn’t always a match and I can’t keep changing things around with my boss. They need to think about that some more. My wife and I just decided she will stay home and do virtual (killing off our two income) and I will double shift so we can stay afloat.

All you have to do is google the story and it pops up. It's not hard to do that when the links don't work.

Not sure why elementary teachers have to report to the buildings, but high school teachers can stay home?

0721, what is their retention rate and why do families leave? I have known several. While it is a decent school, they are not immune. Please step off your incredibly high horse and practice what you preach.

Prepare for things to get all turned around in November - I’m betting that super, duper leader in Wicomico will fold faster than a paper hat and it will be right back to online again.

Seaside Christian is packed with a waiting list - well worth it to us. There is a sane plan going on, the staff has their act together and the Principal knows her stuff.

Wait for the first wrongful death lawsuit - the whole place will panic

9:40 - um, maybe elementary teachers are going back a few at a time because your Superintendent is bringing back the elementary first. There is no reason to open more buildings at this point until there is a need to. This saves money and beyond that, secondary students are more capable to operate technology than, say a PK kid. If you happen to be an elementary teacher and disagree, then you can always take the PRAXIS for your secondary credentials.

Let's schedule some middle school and high school sports.

I wish someone would have run against Tonya Laird on the school board.

We need to vote every damn one of those school board members out of office. Why even have a school board when they rubber stamp everything Donna Hanlin does.

John Palmer and Ann Suthowski, you 2 RINO's are a major disappointment.
