Democrats Use the Specter of Racism to Sow Racial Discord

Democrats routinely blame Donald Trump for exacerbating racial tensions, but they're the ones who made the stoking of ethnic conflict a hallmark of their electoral strategy long before 2016.

President Lyndon Johnson, for instance, reportedly viewed the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act in purely cynical and racist terms, predicting that the new laws would enable Democrats to secure the black vote for generations to come. Democrats then spent the next several decades baselessly impugning their Republican opponents as racists, but the practice really ramped up during the administration of President Barack Obama.

As the militant Black Lives Matter movement began calling for violence against police officers and rioting in the streets, Obama added fuel to the fire with his pronouncements on race. When the nation was divided over the killing of black teenager Trayvon Martin, for instance, Obama remarked that if he had a son, he would look like Martin.

The $6 Trillion Pension Bailout Is Coming

Fiscal responsibility is dead.

This past week, Trump announced he had reached an agreement with Congress to pass a continuing resolution which will suspend the debt ceiling until July 2021.

The good news is that it will ONLY increase spending by just $320 billion.

What a bargain, right?

It’s a lie.

That is just the “starting point” of proposed spending. Without a “debt ceiling” to constrain spending, the actual spending will be substantially higher.

However, the $320 billion is also deceiving because that is on top of the spending we have already committed. As I noted just recently:

Welcome to Sudden Death, the most extreme food of the 2019 NYS Fair

GEDDES, N.Y. - From the maker of The Defibrillator, New York Harvesterand the Heart Attack comes the Sudden Death.

The latest over-the-top creation from Fried Specialties will debut at the 2019 New York State Fair. It features two six-ounce angus beef burgers stuffed with a third of a pound of homemade macaroni and cheese, a quarter-pound slab of cheddar cheese and a quarter of a pound of deep-fried pork belly. That whole thing is then wrapped in a bacon weave that alone is about a half-pound of bacon.

It’s then deep fried and served with a side of cheddar cheese sauce and your choice of milder chipotle sauce, or a fiery hot habanero sauce that Fried Specialties owner Jim Hasbrouck said will “take it beyond belief.”

All told, the dish weighs in at around three pounds. The price has not yet been finalized, but Hasbrouck expects it to run around $12 or $13.

What You Need to Know About the Black Death

When historians refer to "The Black Death," they mean the specific outbreak of plague that took place in Europe in the mid-14th century. It was not the first time plague had come to Europe, nor would it be the last. A deadly epidemic known as the Sixth-Century Plague or Justinian's plague struck Constantinople and parts of southern Europe 800 years earlier, but it did not spread as far as the Black Death, nor did it take nearly as many lives.

The Black Death came to Europe in October of 1347, spread swiftly through most of Europe by the end of 1349 and on to Scandinavia and Russia in the 1350s. It returned several times throughout the rest of the century.

The Black Death was also known as The Black Plague, the Great Mortality, and the Pestilence.

Rubio on Huawei

Sen. Marco Rubio is confident that Congress will codify in law Trump administration restrictions imposed on China’s telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies, a company the Florida Republican says poses a national security threat to the United States.

Huawei, which was sanctioned by the administration in May, is “an instrument of state power” for China, Mr. Rubio told Inside the Ring.

The senator is among a bipartisan group in Congress that recently introduced legislation in both the Senate and House that would permanently impose a Commerce Department ban on sales of U.S. semiconductors and other items to Huawei.

President Trump signed an executive order in May imposing curbs on the use of any foreign adversary equipment by U.S. telecommunications companies and severely limited Huawei’s business by placing the company on the Commerce Department’s entities list. Designation on the list requires obtaining an export license for any exports to Huawei with a presumption of denial.

Mr. Trump, under pressure from both China and American technology companies, has signaled that he is willing to back off the tough sanctions on Huawei.

Jeffrey Epstein went to the White House 'several times' during the early days of Bill Clinton's presidency

Jeffrey Epstein reportedly went to the White House multiple times during the early days of Bill Clinton's presidency - even though the former president says he had only six encounters with the billionaire sex offender starting from 2002.

Clinton immediately distanced himself from Epstein when the New York financier was arrested on sex trafficking charges earlier this month.

The former president, who was in the White House from 1993 to 2001, said he had taken four flights on Epstein's private jet and visited him in his New York office and apartment on one occasion each.

House Overwhelmingly Passes Multiple Pro-Israel Bills

The House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed several pro-Israel bills, including one opposing boycotts of the Jewish state, dealing a blow to far-left lawmakers such as Reps. Ilhan Omar (Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), who voted against the legislation.

In a vote of 398 to 17, lawmakers approved a bill spearheaded by Rep. Brad Schneider (D., Ill.) opposing the global Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement (BDS), an anti-Israel effort that wages economic warfare on the Jewish state.

Among the 17 who voted against the bill are Tlaib, Omar, and progressive ally Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.). Five members including frequent Trump administration critic Rep. Justin Amash (I., Mich.) voted "present" on the measure, while 12 members, including Greg Gianforte (R., Mont.), skipped the vote.

BREAKING: Judge dismisses Covington student's defamation suit against Washington Post

A federal judge in Kentucky Friday threw out a defamation lawsuit filed against The Washington Post by Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann and his family over the paper's reporting of an incident between the young man and a Native American man this past January in Washington.

The lawsuit, which was filed in February, sought $250 million in damages and accused the Post of practicing "a modern-day form of McCarthyism" by targeting Sandmann and "using its vast financial resources to enter the bully pulpit by publishing a series of false and defamatory print and online articles ... to smear a young boy who was in its view an acceptable casualty in their war against the president."

Sandmann became the focus of outrage after a video of him standing face-to-face with a Native American man, Nathan Phillips, while wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat surfaced and rapidly spread online. Sandmann was one of a group of Covington students attending the anti-abortion March for Life in Washington, D.C., while Phillips was attending the Indigenous Peoples' March on the same day.

JUST IN: Supreme Court rules for Trump in border wall funding dispute

WASHINGTON —The Supreme Court on Friday handed President Trump a major victory by clearing the way for him to divert $2.5 billion from the military’s budget and use it to build an extra 100 miles of border wall in California, Arizona and New Mexico.

The justices, by a vote of 5 to 4, lifted orders by a federal judge in Oakland and the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco that had barred the administration from using the Pentagon’s money to build a border wall.

Conservative justices questioned whether the environmental groups challenging Trump’s wall had standing. The court’s four liberal justices dissented.

Rand Paul on Mueller: He Doesn’t Understand Fundamental Part of Our Judicial System — Presumption of Innocence

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said at the Turning Point USA’s Teen Student Action Summit in Washington, DC, on Wednesday that Special Counsel Robert Mueller does not understand American jurisprudence.

“Here’s the thing,” Paul said. “Alright. I’m not a lawyer. I’m a doctor. But I know that American jurisprudence —our system — is based on what? Innocent until proven guilty.”

“Now Mueller is supposed to be this smart lawye, but he doesn’t seem to understand the fundamental part of our judicial system,” Paul said. “So he writes in his report, ‘Well, I can not exonerate him, I can’t tell you that he’s innocent.’”

“That’s never the job of a prosecutor,” Paul said. “A prosecutor never does that. You either prove guilt or the presumption is of innocence.”

Google Insider to Project Veritas: Big Corporate Power Merging with Politics Is ‘Dangerous’

“I don’t see any doubt that [Google] is very politically biased” — those are the words of Greg Coppola, a senior software engineer at Google who spoke to Project Veritas about political bias at the company for which he has worked for five years.

In his interview, Coppola questioned the veracity of Google’s assurances to the world — and to Congress, under oath — that its products are not politically biased.

“I look at search and I look at Google News and I see what it’s doing and I see Google executives go to Congress and say that it’s not manipulated. It’s not political. And I’m just so sure that’s not true” said Coppola.

Coppola, who works for the tech giant on artificial intelligence at the Google Home assistant, went on to say that Americans must grapple with the problem of tech bias before it completely undermines democracy.

Petition to change Halloween to last Saturday in October gains traction

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – An online petition calling for the change of this year’s Halloween date to the last Saturday of October is getting closer to its goal.

The Change.org petition, which was launched in 2018 by the trade organization Halloween & Costume Association, has garnered more than 59,000 signatures.

The goal is 75,000 signatures.

The petition argues that moving Halloween from Thursday to Saturday would allow for more time for celebration.

“It makes more sense to have it always on a Saturday so that we don’t have to worry about getting the kids home and in bed early for school the next day.” Danielle Paris commented on the petition. “Also, for most people, they wouldn’t have to worry about working that day or the day following.”

Bette Midler: Trump Is Paying Black Men to Attend His Rallies

Liberal Hollywood actress and singer Bette Midler suggested on Wednesday that President Donald Trump has paid black people to pose in campaign photos — calling this a “blackground.”

Sharing a photo from a recent campaign rally, Midler seemed befuddled that Trump could have any African-American supporters.

“Look, there are African-American men in this shot!” she wrote.

“How much did he pay them to be ‘blackground’?” she also said, offering no evidence for her claim.

Trump won only eight percent of African-American voters in the 2016 presidential election, yet hisapproval rating with black voters has reached a number as high as 40 percent.

But for a moment, let’s forget about all that — and focus on what Midler is actually saying.

Gordon Chang: Trump Must ‘Kill’ Huawei to Protect America

“We should be cutting Huawei off and trying to kill it,” advised Gordon Chang, columnist at the Daily Beast and author of The Coming Collapse of China, in a Tuesday interview on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.

Chang explained how the Trump administration can “kill” Huawei, the world’s largest telecommunications infrastructure manufacturer, in order to prevent China’s pursuit of global telecommunications dominance.

“The Trump administration, in the middle of May, added Huawei to the Commerce Department’s entity list, and that means for technology covered by export control regulations, no American company can have a transaction with Huawei — cannot sell to Huawei or license to Huawei — unless they get a license from Commerce,” said Chang.

Chang continued, “Essentially this is a death sentence because Huawei is dependent on a couple of things: it’s dependent on U.S. chips, and it’s also dependent on Google for its Android operating system for its cell phones.”

Trump reelection campaign hauls in more than $200,000 selling Trump straws

While President Trump has often deemed the climate crisis a "hoax," his recent campaign haul by selling reusable straws is far from "fake news." Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale said over Twitter that the president's reelection campaign sold more than 140,000 straws which are listed on the president's campaign site at $15 a pop.
"That is over $200,000 raised. More than half of all Straw purchasers were BRAND NEW small dollar donors. Amazing!" said Parscale. The campaign lists the pack of straws with the following caption for MAGA supporters:
"Liberal paper straws don't work. STAND WITH PRESIDENT TRUMP and buy your pack of recyclable straws today."

OCPD identifies three suspects in large jewelry theft

Ocean City Police have identified three people who allegedly employed a distraction-type rouse to rip-off more than $8,000 in jewelry from a Boardwalk merchant, with one party currently in custody and two others awaiting extradition to Worcester County.

OCPD Deputy Communications Manager Ashley Miller said detectives with the Major Crimes Unit were contacted about a theft of roughly $8,500 from a jewelry store on the Boardwalk that occurred in May.

“This theft was brought to our attention when employees noticed that a display rack of men’s jewelry was missing from one of the glass display cases,” she said. “The owner reviewed the store surveillance with officers to determine when the display rack was taken.”

Miller said after examining the stores surveillance footage, City Watch cameras and license plate readers on roadway entrances to Ocean City, investigators were able to identify three suspects.

Two of the individuals, Jonathan Friday, 55, and Fabria Scandolari, 36, both of Voorhees, New Jersey were subsequently arrested in their area of residence.

Wicomico Joins Worcester In Sprinkler Opposition

SALISBURY – Officials in Wicomico County last week agreed to support proposed legislation that would allow jurisdictions to opt out of statewide sprinkler requirements in new single-family homes.

Last week, the Wicomico County Council unanimously agreed to send a letter of support to state representatives regarding local amendments to fire sprinkler system provisions.

In May, the Worcester County Commissioners opted to seek help from other Maryland counties in their fight against state requirements that all new single-family dwellings have sprinklers.

The decision followed an effort to create a building permit that would allow county residents to opt out of the state’s sprinkler requirement. Feedback from state agencies, however, led the commissioners to consider another option.

No Google Employee Made Itemized Donation to Trump in Second Quarter

Individuals who work for Google, Twitter, and Facebook did not make a single itemized contribution to President Donald Trump's reelection campaign during the second quarter, even as they pushed $250,000 into the coffers of the top five 2020 Democratic contenders, a review of campaign finance data shows.

Of the current top candidates vying for the Democratic nomination, South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg was the favorite of those who work at the three tech giants, pulling in a combined $85,132.01 in itemized contributions—individuals' donations totaling $200 or more that discloses information such as an employer. Buttigieg, a Harvard graduate, has connections to many leaders in Silicon Valley who also attended the university.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) was the second biggest beneficiary from employees at Google, Twitter, and Facebook, pulling in $69,507.75. Earlier this year, the senator lambasted big tech's power and proposed breaking up America's largest tech companies. Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.) received $45,772.82, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) collected $30,069.08, and former vice president Joe Biden saw $17,150 flow into his campaign from individuals at the three companies.

Blackwell: Democrats Use the Specter of Racism to Sow Racial Discord

When Ferguson, Missouri was turned upside-down by protesters after a police officer shot a black teenager who was trying to escape custody, Obama offered perfunctory support for law enforcement yet simultaneously validated the protesters by saying he thinks their concerns are justified. When a black college professor raised a national furor because a white police officer confused him for a burglar as he was trying to enter his home through a window, Obama's immediate response was to condemn the police department for "acting stupidly."

Obama's divisive comments on issues of race made him sound tone-deaf to the nation as a whole, but they were perfectly tailored to appeal to the increasingly radical Democrat base.

Judicial Watch Statement on Robert Mueller’s Congressional Testimony

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made the following statement regarding the congressional testimony of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller:

The corruptly formed and constitutionally abusive Mueller investigation failed to find any evidence to support the big lie of Trump-Russia collusion.

Nonetheless, Mr. Muller attempted today to smear President Trump with obstruction of justice innuendo despite concluding that no such charges could be credibly sustained. Frankly, Mueller never had a valid basis upon which to investigate President Trump for obstruction of justice.

Let’s be clear, neither Mueller, the Obama FBI, DOJ, CIA, State Department, nor the Deep State ever had a good-faith basis to pursue President Trump on Russia collusion. Russia collusion wasn’t just a hoax, it is a criminal abuse of President Trump, which is why Judicial Watch has fought and will continue to fight for Russiagate and Mueller special counsel abuse documents in federal court.

Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism to Provide $4.5 Million in AmeriCorps Grants to 19 Maryland Organizations

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism today announced that 19 Maryland organizations will receive more than $4.5 million in AmeriCorps State grants for initiatives taking place from August 15, 2019 to August 14, 2020. AmeriCorps funding is provided through a national competition by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency for volunteering and service. The grants awarded this summer include funds announced in April supporting seven Maryland organizations. In 2018, Maryland was ranked the No. 10 state and Baltimore the No. 1 major city in the country for producing AmeriCorps members per capita by the Corporation for National and Community Service.
“As a top state in the country for producing AmeriCorps members, Maryland is proud of the hundreds of individuals who commit to improve our communities through service each year,” said Steve McAdams, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives. “AmeriCorps continues to provide invaluable resources to our communities by addressing important, sometimes crucial, issues that affect our state, changing Maryland for the better.”
Among the recipients is a new grantee: The Choice Program, an intensive advocacy and mentoring program serving disconnected youth based at The Shriver Center at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
“Governor Hogan is committed to addressing the issues facing Maryland such as the opioid crisis, youth literacy and education, community development, and environmental stewardship,” said McAdams. “We are grateful that Maryland organizations were able to demonstrate effective program models in Maryland that resulted in these national awards.”

$100K Grant To Help Build Regional Airport’s Drone Center

SALISBURY – A $100,000 grant is expected to help develop a drone facility at the Salisbury Regional Airport.

Last week, Airport Manager Dawn Veatch came before the Wicomico County Council in a work session to request an amendment to the fiscal year 2019 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) in the amount of $100,000 to accept an Economic Development Assistance Fund Grant from the Maryland Department of Commerce.

The money will be used to construct a new Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Center for Innovation at the airport.

“In the CIP for FY 2019, we made the assumption that we had sufficient funding to finalize this project, but it was determined that we needed additional funding,” Veatch wrote in a memo. “The State awarded the County $100,000 in FY 2020 with no matching requirement. This amount should be sufficient to finish the UAS Center for Innovation in its entirety, with the previous funding already received.”

House panel approves subpoenas for emails of Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner

A sharply divided House panel voted Thursday to authorize subpoenas for the White House emails and electronic communications sent on private devices by Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner and others.

The decision came after a feisty partisan debate that at times touched on the controversy involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, as well as earlier — and unrelated — testimony from former special counsel Robert Mueller.

The House Committee on Oversight and Reform voted 23-16 on party lines to authorize subpoenas for the records of “non-career officials at the White House.” They include the president’s daughter Ivanka Trump, Kushner and former chief strategist Steve Bannon.

Legal counsel for Ivanka Trump has said that she quickly took action two years ago, after learning her communications might violate federal guidelines.

Out-of-state toll violators owe Maryland more than $100M

BALTIMORE —Maryland drivers sometimes have to pay tolls, but some out-of-state drivers just ignore them and get away with it -- and it's no small change.

It happens more than one might think when out-of-state drivers blow through Maryland E-ZPass toll lanes without paying, racking up some $102 million in violations. It's money that would have gone to maintaining Maryland roads, building new bridges and funding highway services, like helping drivers who run out of gas.

"The Maryland Transportation Authority is 100% funded by our toll revenue. We have no tax dollars being utilized to fund our operations, that includes our policing -- our 500-member police force that provides enforcement and safety, traffic management when we have incidents," said John O'Neill, chief operating officer of the MDTA.

Nolte: Robert Mueller Isn’t Senile; He Was a Dirty Cop Forced to Take the Witness Stand

They told us Robert Mueller was Captain America: Crusader for Truth, and instead we got George Costanza and all the inept deception, sweaty stalling, and blundering dishonesty that comes with him.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s bumbling, stumbling, grumbling, tumbling, crumbling testimony Wednesday before the U.S House of Representatives was not only karma on steroids, it once again proved just how brilliant the American Constitution is.

You see, the sublime spectacle of watching Robert Mueller’s reputation go up in flames, flames ignited by his own corrupt report and fueled by three years of the establishment media’s hoax machinery, would not have been possible without the Separation of Powers, without the ability of one branch of government to hold the other in check,

While I certainly sympathize with President Trump not wanting Mueller to appear before congress, because it could only mean one more fake news-cycle distracting from all his successes, I always wanted Mueller to appear.

As awful as congress is, we chose those guys to represent us, to speak for us; and the very idea that we would hand a Robert Mueller tens of millions of dollars, the power to overturn a presidential election, and the unlimited power to prosecute, subpoena, and investigate — the idea that one man would be handed Thor’s hammer and then allowed to hurl a report, give a haughty public statement, and skip town under the cover of Media Mythologizing, was not only intolerable to me, it was un-American.

Birth control pills recalled by Salisbury pharmaceutical company

SALISBURY, Md. — A Salisbury pharmaceutical company is voluntarily recalling birth control medication it produces due to concerns about the pills' efficacy.

The company has yet to receive reports of adverse events related to the recall.

Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol tablets are oral contraceptives utilizing estrogen and progestin. They are primarily taken to prevent pregnancy, but also may treat symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder, or to treat moderate acne for women who are at least 14 years old.
