An American Veteran from Maryland at the Rhône Cemetery

Today is Veteran’s Day and I would like your readers to be aware of a deceased veteran from World War II that is buried in the Rhône Cemetary in Southern France. Percy Salmon was a Merchant Marine who died on October 18, 1945. Of course, it was after the war ended. Nothing is known about this young merchant marine. They do know he was from Maryland.

Our group honored this USMM with flowers and remembering his service and with the hope to find out who he is when we returned home. On this day of remembrance, if any of your readers are aware of anything about him or his family, please contact the Rhône Cemetery at,

His memory needs to live on with more information about who he was and what a sacrifice he gave for his country.

If There's One Vote I Want From Our Viewers It Would Be For Bob Culver, Wicomico County Executive

For well over a decade I have dedicated my time to deliver you news and information I feel is in the best interest of each and every one of you. The growth experienced here on SBYNews is just un-explainable, seriously. To bring forth a conservative view in an area loaded with democrats, how could we achieve 66,000,000+ hits? I believe it's because we have a ton of blue dogs, conservative democrats who are smart enough to look at all sides and make independent decisions.

I also believe the people 30 and older aren't angry people and are tired of the division your mainstream media is purposely trying to create.

Bob Culver has done an incredible job as your County Executive. He's used his business experience and wisdom to break away from the typical tax and spend agenda. He doesn't lie and he doesn't shy away from criticism.

Oh sure, he's ticked off some special interests, (Good Ol' Boys) by not giving them everything they wanted or demanded, hence the Heath signs on Gillis/Gilkerson properties and so forth. If their proposals were truly in the best interests of ALL taxpayers and not a very select few, he'd side with them. Because he said NO, they're the little children on the floor in the middle of the store kicking and screaming while the parent completely ignores the child.

Before you go to the polls tomorrow undecided, trust me, Bob Culver IS the one person you want to support. Don't listen to the lies about Bob being spread. Bob was elected and has done exactly what he said he would do. Anyone not voting for a man who has delivered exactly what he said he was going to do is a fool.

Heath has missed 18, (EIGHTEEN) council meetings in his very short term on the City Council. He has NEVER voted against ANYTHING Jake Day has brought forth to the Council, NOTHING.  He claims he's going to remove the revenue cap. What an Idiot, HE CAN'T! The man can't answer a single question when it comes to accomplishments or goals, outside of catch phrases very similar to the Jim Ireton era. The only reason the guy is running, (a puppet) is so Jake Day can take control of the County.

I can only hope Wicomico County residents continue to support Bob Culver. Not just because he has an (R) behind his name but because he's done a great job. Please make every effort to get out and vote tomorrow and NEVER think anyone is a shoe in. GET OUT AND VOTE!

Hogan Blames Trump For Republican Loses In Maryland

Gov. Larry Hogan relished in his victory a day after winning re-election, but blamed President Donald Trump for the losses of some of his fellow Republicans in other Maryland races.

Hogan became the second Republican governor to win re-election in Maryland history on Tuesday. But Democrats had a big night otherwise byunseating a couple of Republican county executives. Steuart Pittman beat Steve Schuh in Anne Arundel County while Calvin Ball defeated Allan Kittleman. Former state Del. John "Johnny O" Olszewski Jr. prevailed over Republican Al Redmer, Maryland's insurance commissioner and Hogan ally.

"It was a tough night," Hogan told reporters at a press conference at the State House in Annapolis on Wednesday.

"We had President Trump say the election should be about him even though he is not on the ballot and in Maryland that is exactly what happened," said Hogan, who won his race against Ben Jealous with 56 percent of the vote. "It was a repudiation of the president who lost this state by 30 points. People came out and expressed their frustration."

A Viewer Writes: Voting Problems In Wicomico County

Hi Joe.

Voted at Fruitland Primary around 11:45 they were waiting in line in the hall and around the corner where you go. When we got there our neighbors were ahead of us in line and when they got to the first desk they were given a hard time, since they could not find them on the computer. They showed them their ID / Drivers License. They spoke to a couple of people but in the end they were refused the opportunity to vote. I know they are eligible and at the right place because they have voted there the same times we did for the last 10 years. What is Wicomico County doing refusing someone the opportunity to vote? Wicomico appears to be interfering in the elections. What are they trying to do fix the results. Appears to be another Democratic trick. How can we believe the results?

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hospitalized after fall in her office

WASHINGTON – Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is in the hospital after falling in her office Wednesday night, the Court announced in a statement on Thursday.

Ginsburg, 85, went home after the fall but continued to experience "discomfort overnight" and went to George Washington Hospital early Thursday. Tests revealed she fractured three ribs and she "was admitted for observation and treatment," according to the statement.

Ginsburg, the court's senior justice, has served on the court for more than 25 years after being appointed by former President Bill Clinton in 1993. She is considered the leader of the liberal wing of the court.

A Viewer Writes: Is This Legal?

"I hear Heath has elementary school kids handing out apples for votes near several polling places. Is that legal due to their age? Is he trying to play the sympathy card"?

Unfortunately it is legal and the Heath/Day team have stooped to the lowest level possible. It never ceases to amaze me how creative these Liberals, (yes, I said Liberals because that's who/what Jack Heath truly is) have become to get as close as they possibly can to almost cross the legal line.

The "children" USED to help the Liberal campaign got CREDIT for community service. These kids couldn't care less WHO the candidate is, nor do they truly understand who they're representing. To me, it's a form of SLAVERY, free labor.

Nevertheless, Jack Heath lost BIG. It has become extremely clear after Palmer Gillis stomped on Trump this past summer that our Eastern Shore is enjoying our new economy. The Good Ol' Boys, (who turned on Rick Pollitt in the past) have lost their power and the playing field is becoming more fair. Their attempt to stomp on Culver clearly failed because we are all fed up.

Finally, we have an open and honest County Executive. No trickery and proven results. Bob didn't force staff to stand at the polls and work on his behalf, unlike Jake Day and the Salibury Folk Festival.

Congratulations Wicomico County.

Gillum Rescinds Concession: ‘Many More Uncounted Ballots Than Was Originally Reported’

Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D.) conceded the Florida gubernatorial election Tuesday night, but his campaign is now rescinding that decision to allow more ballots to be counted.

With 99 percent of precincts reporting, the ballot returns show Republican Ron DeSantis leading by about 0.6 percent, a wider margin than the 0.5 percent required to trigger a recount, but Gillum’s campaign claims there are more outstanding ballots than Gillum realized when he conceded.

"On Tuesday night, the Gillum for Governor campaign operated with the best information available about the number of outstanding ballots left to count," Gillum campaign communication director Johanna Cervone said. "Since that time, it has become clear there are many more uncounted ballots than was originally reported."

Maxine Waters: Trump ‘Placing a Target on My Back’ — ‘He’s Promoting Violence’

Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) accused President Donald Trump of “placing a target” on her back.

Waters said, “It is obvious that the president of the United States of America is placing a target on my back and he keeps calling my name and lying about me in order to make the target work. So I’m not intimidated by it, but I know what he’s doing. So I just continue to do what I do, to call it like it is, to speak truth to power. And I want you to know that the American people, in the final analysis, will understand how divisive this president is, how dangerous he is, and how he is pitting us against each other.”

White House suspends Jim Acosta's credentials

The White House suspended the media credentials of CNN reporter Jim Acosta on Wednesday night, citing his “absolutely unacceptable” conduct for tussling with a White House intern at a presidential press conference earlier in the day.

Mr. Acosta learned of the move when a Secret Service officer confiscated his White House credentials, known as a “hard pass,” as he tried to re-enter a security gate at the White House.

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the president believes in a free press and welcomes tough questions, but will “never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern.”

“This conduct is absolutely unacceptable,” she said.

During a contentious press conference in the East Room earlier Wednesday, Mr. Acosta was questioning the president’s characterization of a migrant caravan from Central America as an “invasion.” The reporter, often a target of Mr. Trump’s barbs of “fake news,” offered his own opinion that it wasn’t an invasion.

Mr. Trump retorted, “I think you should — honestly, I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN .. and if you did it well, your ratings would be much better.”

When Mr. Acosta tried to ask another question, Mr. Trump cut him off, saying “That’s enough.”

A Viewer Writes: Knowing Basic Law

In Worcestor County the winning Democrat commissioner Joshua Nordstrom took a picture of himself and his ballot in the polling booth then put it up on his campaign Facebook. You would think a Commissioner know the basic law of electronic devices are ILLEGAL inside the polling booth and it is sure as hell illegal to photograph your ballot. More importantly who was the polling place operator that took or allowed this photo? Certain people slash democrats think they are above the law too much.

ISIS Takes Credit For Melbourne Knife Attack That Left 1 Dead, 2 Wounded

As authorities in Melbourne confirm that a stabbing attack that unfolded on a busy Melbourne street on Friday afternoon is believed to have been an act of terror, ISIS has stepped up and taken credit for the attack.

A man stabbed three people in Melbourne on Friday, killing one and wounding two before police fatally shot him in the chest. The incident was captured on video that has widely circulated on social media and local television. In the footage, the man can be seen lunging at two police officers as a car fire burned in the background. As the attacker repeatedly swung his knife at one officer, the other pulled out his firearm and shot him. The attacker later died in the hospital.
