    IIRC, Treason is giving aid & comfort to an enemy country. From the sound of it, this qualifies.

    He's probably traveling with his security muscle. They ought to get the fine tooth comb when they return, particularly in regard to weapons. Even if he's traveling by private jet the scrutiny should be elevated.
