Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development to host small and minority business enterprise forum at the WY&CC on May 13

Salisbury, MD – Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development will host Connections, a small and minority business enterprise forum, on Friday, May 13, from 9:30 a.m.-noon at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury.

The forum is free and will be held in the DaNang Room. The agenda is as follows:

9:30-10 a.m.: Registration and networking

10-10:05 a.m.: Welcome

10:05-10:35 a.m.: Small Business Financing

10:35-10:45 a.m.: Employment Update & What the Marketplace is Telling Us

10:45-11 a.m.: Break

11-11:45 a.m.: Panel Discussion: Connecting People to Jobs & Training

11:45-Noon: SWED video release and adjournment

Basically you can leave at 11:45 because SWED is worthless and a waste of time.

What needs to be changed now is that we must stop focusing only on minority businesses. For example, if 10 small businesses can create 100 jobs and only 2 are minority owned, why would we want to focus primarily on minority owned? We should be focused on which ones create the most jobs.

Maybe that is why it is a small AND minority business enterprise forum.
