New Crime Scene Scenario

Salisbury, USA

Victim: Officer, officer! That man just stole my purse!

Officer: Good morning ma’am, or does that pronoun offend you. If so, please advise me of the correct pronoun I may use in order to not....

Victim: Officer, you're not listening to me! That man stole my purse.

Officer: That gentleman across the street?

Victim: Yeah, that's him.

Officer: Okay, let me go talk to him.

Victim: He's a big guy, don't you want some help?

Officer: Oh no, anything that might give the appearance of a show of force isn't allowed.

Officer leaves to talk to the alleged suspect and then returns:

Officer: Is it a red purse with black trim and brass colored clasp with the initials MS on the side?

Victim: That's it, my name is Mary Smith and those are my initials. That's my purse.

Officer: I figured it was yours, he doesn't look like the purse type. The problem is he doesn't want to give it back.

Victim: Well, arrest him, he robbed me of that purse. He punched me, knocked me down and then took my purse. Look at this bruise on my arm, and I'm bleeding from my forehead.

Officer: I'm afraid I can't do that. He said he wouldn't allow me to arrest him. I can call the EMS folks though to treat you for your injuries. There will be a fee of course.

Victim: What??!! You have to arrest him. He committed a robbery and I'm the victim. I demand you arrest him.

Officer: I'm afraid I can't do that. He said he would fight if I tried to arrest him and our new Rules Of Engagement don't allow us to confront a hostile suspect.

Victim: Rules Of Engagement? What the hell is that?

Officer: Basically it means if the alleged suspect offers any resistance, or even says he will resist, our Rules Of Engagement say we shall not "engage". It's really quite simple and it makes our job much simpler. No more fights, no violence involved and everyone is much safer that way aren't they?

Victim: But he robbed me and he's standing right there, you mean you can't do anything?

Officer: Oh, whether or not I could do something doesn't matter. I'm not allowed to confront a possibly hostile suspect. Perhaps you could talk to him and see if he will come down to the precinct house and turn himself in.

Victim: That's it? That's all you can do?

Officer: Well, I can give you our website and you can make a report of this alleged crime. It's a really neat website, designed by the same folks that did that Affordable Care site And I'd be glad to give you the office phone numbers for Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Eric Holder.

Victim: Will they do anything?

Officer: Not really, they're only interested if I do something.

Victim: Well did you at least get his name so I know who the bad guy is when I make this report?

Officer: No, he didn't want to give me his name, and gosh all I can do is ask.

Victim: This is incredible. He's just standing over there like he knows nothing will be done about this.

Officer: I know. Happens all the time now. Well, have a nice day and call any time, we're here to help.

Victim: But officer.

Officer: You'll have to excuse me, I have to go apologize to that gentlemen for disrupting his day.

Wtf? So far fetched. This attempt to make Leos look good for their actions is sickening. And we all know the perp would've received a beat down here in DA bury!

had a good experience with SPD. watch two guys smash a drink machine and take the money out. Neighbor also saw them and called police. the two people that committed the crime were still visible walling down the street but all the cops wanted was my name, my address, my social security number, and my phone number. I asked them wouldnt you want to catch the guys first, thats them walking down the street, nope we need your information first.. WHAT a joke I gave them no information and told them I saw nothing because they really didnt want to catch the guys. They said ok and left. Help the cops when they want more info from you then the ones doing the crime NOPE they want you to help solve crimes but lets have where you were born first and we'll think about the criminals later screw them do your own job

45 million calls per year less than 500 end in police gunfire. Excellent work USA police.

Remember your comment if a civil war happens. And i hope your a cop!
Its not about hating cops! You idiot. It's about rights.

This is about rights and liberties. Soon everyone's rights will be taken. Including the one who need the cops. Keep applauding the Leos folks. They're not here to protect and serve as once was! More like comply or die!

Now you know why they don't want Citizens to be armed and make it so hard to get a "Right To Carry " permit. The Citizens would defend their Family, Personal Protection and Property.
There is no punishment for crime. The slogan "you do the crime you do the time" no longer exist.
I believe in Capitol Punishment. there was less crime when that existed.

I guess this scenario is better than the current one where the innocent victim ends up shot by the cop.

You liberal turd boy! To stupid to think for yourself that you have to let the liberal, left wingnut, Lame Stream Media brainwash you.

By the way who are you referring to that got shot?

This scenario is not too far fetched. I can see the police stop dealing with these type of situations to stay out of the spotlight. This is what all you police haters want and maybe this what you may get. I see this happening in the schools. Some parents are so relentless that their kids teachers give higher grades just so they will leave them alone.

This is nothing new.
Thirty years ago some neighborhood teens were throwing rocks - a few of which hit my car and made some major dents. I called the police.
While waiting for the cops, the teens decided to leave and all got into their car.
I stood in front of the car, preventing them from leaving (unless they wanted to run over me) until the police came.
The cops came and took the report.
One week later: I was sued by the teen's family for $20,000 in a civil case for "unlawful apprehension".
I settled for $5000.00, which was about half what my attorney would've charged to represent me.
Damage to my car was not even considered.
The system has been screwy for many, many years.

Hey officer? Equal force! Why can you shoot someone in Maryland while your ass is getting stomped and I can't? If you can't fight well don't be a cop. And to many cops shooting out of fear instead of their sight and training.

Anonymous said...

4:28 Which isn't even remotely true.

Scenario could have been written about public schools. Cop's part would be played by teachers and administrators, victim's part would be played by students and teachers, and the thug's part would be played by a thug.

Anonymous said...

What isn't? No self defense law in Maryland. And many coos will tell you cops will shoot out of fear.

Anonymous said...

Nobody told me to comment. You sheeples eyes are glued shut from cop drippings to see the facts here. If someone used your kids name and robbed someone and your kid got pulled over. Then the cop hears the name and shoots your kid thinking he is armed and may have saw something. Yet your kid is unarmed. The story is different but the facts are the same. Cop thinks robbery suspect, cop thinks he was in danger and shoots without verifying a weapon, and the beat goes on.
Why position the camera car like that after all the other cars? Why is the shooting officer near the dead until that car pulls up perfectly? Why does the shooting officer start to hyperventilate long after the shooting and excitment? One has to wonder if this was staged to protect him from the jury's eyes. To many weird things in the video

I wish the cops respected citizens rights. Tell me your name or I'm going to arrest you. Someone please tell me what Maryland law requires a person to tell a cop his / her name BEFORE an arrest is made.

THERE ISN'T ONE!!!

This is exactly the scenario that you anti-cop freaks want. Most of these frustrating experiences with law-enforcement are because the cops are doing their jobs as they are instructed.

I was well acquainted with a guy who had been a beat-cop in a fairly tough urban area back in the early 50's. Criminals avoided his turf like the plague and folks were safe on the street any time of the day or night. He handled things on a level that was understood by the thugs. His first concern was not the rights of the offender. Rather, it was the rights of the victim that concerned him. Wouldn't bother me to see a return to those methods.

And there will always be some idiot who "done seed the whole thing on YooToob!"
