Foes of Md. Redistricting Map Submit Signatures

Opponents of Maryland's congressional redistricting map hope they have submitted enough signatures to put the map on the ballot to give voters a chance to reject it, but it's unclear if they have succeeded.

They faced a midnight deadline to deliver them to the Maryland Secretary of State's office in Annapolis on Saturday.

Delegate Neil Parrot, R-Washington, said in a statement late Saturday that he is optimistic about the result, but opponents are going to wait until Monday to talk about how many signatures they have handed in, out of respect for severe storms that hit Maryland on Friday night.
