GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO HOST ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION WITH NATION’S ‘DRUG CZAR’ GIL KERLIKOWSKE


ANNAPOLIS, MD (September 24, 2009) – Governor Martin O’Malley will host a roundtable discussion with the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Gil Kerlikowske, traditionally known as the nation’s “Drug Czar,” along with law enforcement, youth, and community leader stakeholders to discuss the current drug control strategy and its effectiveness at every level of government, including what can be done to improve it. The roundtable is part of a six city tour by Kerlikowske around the nation to assess the drug control program and ways to make it more effective for the American people.

The roundtable discussion is closed to the press, however and opportunity for photos and b-roll is available during the final 15 minutes of the roundtable. Following the roundtable discussion, the Governor and Director will hold a media availability.
