President Trump’s message on Hurricane Dorian

President Trump’s message on Hurricane Dorian

As Hurricane Dorian affects America’s southeast coast this week, President Donald J. Trump is making the safety of all residents in its path his Administration’s top priority.

“The safety of the American people must always come first,” the President said this weekend. “My staff and I receive frequent updates to ensure that we are fully prepared. And we are fully prepared.”

At FEMA headquarters on Sunday, Acting FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor briefed President Trump on the approaching storm and its anticipated impact. Meetings such as these ensure that Federal officials—including the President himself—are working in close coordination with local authorities in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

President Trump also emphasized the importance of residents heeding warnings from state and local leaders to prepare and evacuate as needed.

All told, a team of 4,000 strong is assisting in hurricane response efforts. These professionals and volunteers span 27 Federal departments and agencies, the Red Cross, and the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster. Even with all these helping hands, nothing is more important for saving lives than taking precautions in advance.

“Don't tough it out. Get out,” Acting FEMA Administrator Gaynor says. “Make the smart choice today, because the clock is ticking.”

Life-threatening storm surge and high winds are expected from Florida up to the Carolinas over the next few days. Even if there is no direct landfall, Hurricane Dorian is likely to cause significant damage along the East Coast. These effects could be felt hundreds of miles—or more—from the center of the storm.

To Americans in these areas: Please stay safe and be prepared to evacuate if you haven’t already. Fill the gas tank, know the evacuation zones and routes, and stock your vehicle with enough emergency supplies to last at least several days.

“Americans are strong, determined, and resilient, and we will support each other. And we will work very hard to minimize whatever the effect of what’s coming at us,” President Trump said.

Woman pretending to be pregnant among 6 stealing $24K worth of cellphones from Verizon store, police say

Police are searching for the six women who can be seen in surveillance video creating a diversion, stealing phones and fleeing the store.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — A pregnant woman is among six people seen on surveillance video stealing cellphones worth $24,000 from a Verizon store in Montgomery County, police said.

Police are asking the public for help identifying the six women seen on video stealing from a Verizon store in the 200 block of Copley Place in Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Six women came into the store, created a diversion around 6:30 p.m. on July 18 and stole 29 cellphones worth about $24,000, police said.

The video shows the women entering and walking around the store. One of the women was carrying a small child.

Texas shooter evaded background check by purchasing weapon in private sale

The 36-year-old gunman who killed seven people and wounded 22 others in West Texas on Saturday purchased his AR-style rifle from a private seller, federal law enforcement sources confirmed to CBS News. The purchase allowed the gunman to evade a federal background check. Sources also say the gunman was previously denied a gun purchase because he was determined to be mentally unfit.

The investigation into who sold the weapon is ongoing. Authorities said the gunman was killed by officers outside a busy movie theater in Odessa. It was at least the 38th mass killing this year.

Online court records show the gunman, identified as Seth Aaron Ator, was arrested in 2001 for a misdemeanor offense that would not have prevented him from legally purchasing firearms in Texas.

Alyssa Milano Asks Where The Bible Says Gun Ownership Is A ‘God-Given Right’ — Ted Cruz Shows Her

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz gave actress and political activist Alyssa Milano a quick Bible study and lesson in self-defense Monday.

After Milano asked where the Bible justifies gun ownership, Cruz provided a direct response from the Scriptures while also reaching to the United States Constitution and American history to demonstrate why self-defense is both morally and biblically sound.

Milano reached out on Twitter, after responding to a tweet from Texas State Republican Rep. Matt Schaefer. Milano asked, “Can someone cite which passage of the Bible God states it is a god-given right to own a gun. This guy [Schaefer] is clearly owned by the gun lobby.”

‘NO COMPROMISE’: Biden Goes Extreme On Guns,

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden went far to the left on the issue of guns on Monday, telling reporters that he wants to ban magazines that hold "multiple bullets" — which means all magazines.

Biden, who made the remarks while talking to the press during a campaign stop in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, said there should be "no compromise" on guns as he also voiced his anger at the state of Texas for allowing people to carry firearms in places of worship to defend themselves from those who seek to harm others.

"And we're talking about loosening access, to have guns, to be able to take them into places of worship, I mean, it is absolutely irrational. It's totally irrational," Biden said. "The idea that we don't have elimination of assault-type weapons, magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them, it's absolutely mindless."

Walmart to stop selling handgun ammunition

Walmart says it will discontinue the sale of handgun ammunition and also publicly request that customers refrain from openly carrying firearms in stores even where state laws allow it.

The announcement comes just days after a mass shooting claimed seven lives in Odessa, Texas and follows two other back-to-back shootings last month, one of them at a Walmart store.

The Bentonville, Arkansas-based discounter said Tuesday it will stop selling short-barrel and handgun ammunition after it runs out of its current inventory. It will also discontinue handgun sales in Alaska, marking its complete exit from handguns and allowing it to focus on hunting rifles and related ammunition only.

Serial rape suspect found after trying to join the police force hunting him

Cops hunting a serial rapist in Georgia found him right under their noses — when he tried to join their police force.

Kenneth Thomas Bowen III, 24, only came into the spotlight when he joined the Clayton County Police Department’s academy in 2018. He was fired after just a few months for lateness and constant lying.

Officers later realized Bowen had been named a “suspicious” person after at least one of eight sex attacks that terrorized Jonesboro since 2015, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Detectives soon noticed the “striking resemblance” between Bowen’s photo and police sketches, police said at a press conference.

In one Maryland county, 54,000 school bus blow-by citations were issued last year

In Montgomery County, Maryland, 54,196 school bus safety citations were issued last school year, police say.

This year, officials are looking to lower that number.

Students statewide went back to class on Tuesday, and it's the first year that all the county's school buses will be equipped with safety cameras that can capture images of drivers who don't stop when the buses are dropping off and picking up children, according to the police department.

Negligent drivers will receive a civil citation with a fine starting at $250, but penalties can go up to $500.

The Demonization of the Democratic Party

There is no question about it. There is not even a desire to hide it. The Democratic Party continues to grow spiritually darker to the point of actually proclaiming itself the party of the religiously non-affiliated. Is it any surprise?

Back in 2012, the Washington Post reported that the Democrats were under fire for removing “God” from their national platform.

This was not missed by Paul Ryan, then a Republican presidential candidate, who stated on Fox News, “I guess I would just put the onus and the burden on them to explain why they did all this, these purges of God.”

And was it a coincidence that, the same year, the Democrats also failed to affirm Jerusalem as Israel’s capital?

Beto O'Rourke campaign sells profane T-shirts to support gun control

Presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke is selling a new T-shirt on his campaign website that has a profane message about gun violence. It repeats "This is f*cked up" six times and concludes with a call to action that reads, "End gun violence now."

"Beto for America" is printed at the bottom.

The shirt, sold in unisex and women's cuts, is unusual for campaign wear in that it prominently features profanity. The words echo O'Rourke's own response to the recent mass shooting in West Texas on Saturday.

Things Are Worse Than We Imagined in China

Earlier this week, I met with some Christian friends who have lived and worked in China for many years. What they shared with me was chilling and sobering. (They are well-connected and not simply airing personal opinions.)

First, the crackdown against Christian believers in the country (not to mention the crackdown against Muslims and others, which we did not discuss in detail), is getting increasingly severe.

Just a few years ago, there were real signs of change. Persecution was lessening and liberties were increasing. But not today.

There is a systematic attempt to purge the Gospel from the nation.

Photos show children desperately trying to reach safety through waist-deep floodwaters, including a young girl clutching a puppy and a couple sloshing down a flooded roadway.

Crowds are seen desperately collecting needed supplies at emergency centers, and one aerial image shows a marina destroyed by Dorian’s hurricane-force winds — dozens of boats are seen smashed after being thrown onto land.

Assault Charge Filed In Downtown Street Incident

OCEAN CITY — A Delmar man faces first-degree assault and other charges after allegedly knocking out his girlfriend on a downtown resort street and causing her to have multiple seizures.

Around 9 p.m. last Wednesday, Ocean City Police Department (OCPD) officers responded to a reported fight in progress on Caroline Street. When officers arrived, they observed a female victim unconscious on the ground. According to police reports, the victim began to have a seizure while her children attempted to hold her steady and protect her.

The victim’s children identified her attacker as Joshua Cole, 39, of Delmar. The witnesses told police Cole had left the area and had been heading east in the direction of the Boardwalk. One of the female witnesses told police Cole was upset and got close to her as he was yelling at her.

At that point, the victim’s son interceded and attempted to pull Cole back from the girl. According to witness statements, Cole grabbed the son by the throat and pushed him to the ground. The female victim then got out of a vehicle in an attempt to get Cole off of her son, according to police reports.

Barr and DOJ drafted legislation to speed up death penalty for mass shooters

The Justice Department drafted legislation to speed up the death penalty for mass shooters, according to Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff Marc Short, who said the vice president is coordinating with Attorney General William Barr.

Short, who made this revelation while talking to reporters on Air Force Two on a Labor Day flight to Europe, said the vice president’s office has been working with the attorney’s general’s team on the issue.

The proposal to expedite capital punishment for those found guilty of mass murder would be a part of the White House’s eventual legislative package proposal to Congress when lawmakers return from their August recess to debate gun laws in the wake of a number of recent mass shootings.

WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE OVER OPIOID CARNAGE?

Left too busy politicizing shootings to notice the hundreds of thousands killed by foreign-made fentanyl

Statistically, the amount of deaths by opioids is a far larger crisis than the politicized Second Amendment threatening mass shootings epidemic the United States endures.

In fact, pharmaceutical companies and the drug trade dwarf gun violence so massively that the two aren’t even in the same ballpark.

Police: Epstein confidant has 'disappeared without a trace'

Jean-Luc Brunel, 72, was a member of Epstein's inner circle and ran an international modeling agency. Some have alleged that Brunel used his connections in the agency to gain closer access to young women and "recruit" them into Epstein's sex trafficking circle.

Prosecutors in the United States and France are currently seeking the whereabouts of Brunel. Investigations into Brazil, the U.S., and France are all said to part of the ongoing search.

WILLIAMS: Beginning Of U.S. Slavery

The New York Times has begun a major initiative, the "1619 Project," to observe the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery. It aims to reframe American history so that slavery and the contributions of black Americans explain who we are as a nation. Nikole Hannah-Jones, staff writer for The New York Times Magazine wrote the lead article, "America Wasn't a Democracy, Until Black Americans Made It One." She writes, "Without the idealistic, strenuous and patriotic efforts of black Americans, our democracy today would most likely look very different — it might not be a democracy at all."

There are several challenges one can make about Hannah-Jones' article, but I'm going to focus on the article's most serious error, namely that the nation's founders intended for us to be a democracy. That error is shared by too many Americans. The word democracy appears nowhere in the two most fundamental founding documents of our nation — the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Instead of a democracy, the Constitution's Article IV, Section 4, declares, "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government." Think about it and ask yourself whether our Pledge of Allegiance says to "the democracy for which it stands" or to "the republic for which it stands." Is Julia Ward Howe's popular Civil War song titled "The Battle Hymn of the Democracy" or "The Battle Hymn of the Republic"?

Deep State: Lisa Page, Peter Strzok Conducted FBI’s Review to Classify Comey’s Memos

Former FBI employees Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, the once romantically-linked duo infamous for their anti-Trump text messages, conducted the initial agency review of disgraced ex-FBI chief James Comey’s memos to determine whether the documents contained any potentially classified information.

Working on the initial classification review with Page and Strzok was another member of Comey’s inner circle, James A. Baker, the former FBI general counsel.

Those details were contained inside the report released last Thursday by the Justice Department’s inspector-general.

The IG report related that Strzok characterized himself, Page, Baker, and the Unit Chief of the FBI’s Counterintelligence Law Unit in the FBI’s Office of General Counsel as a “logical subset to sit and go through” Comey’s memos memorializing his conversations with Trump to determine classification.

Strzok told the FBI that it made sense that this team conducted the initial classification review because the members had a lot of “history and experience of working investigations relating to … the disclosure of classified information,” including the FBI’s Clinton email investigation.

Evidence request by Flynn's lawyer seeks to expose Clinton-FBI alliance in Russia probe

The new attorney for retired Army Gen. Michael Flynn is putting the scandal-marred Trump-Russia investigation on trial in a bid to make federal prosecutors produce more evidence.

In a court filing, Sidney Powell accused former special counsel Robert Mueller’s staff of being part of a broad “illicit operation” by FBI agents and operatives of 2016 Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to spread and use a Democrat Party dossier filled with false allegations against President Trump.

Ms. Powell said Flynn, who pleaded guilty in December 2017 to lying to FBI agents, was caught up in this conspiracy. She wants U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan to order prosecutors to turn over more evidence so she can determine how the Clinton-FBI alliance affected Flynn.

One of the FBI agents who interviewed Flynn at the White House is fired agent Peter Strzok. He headed the Trump-Russia probe, used the dossier, and vowed in a text message to “stop” Mr. Trump.

Snowflake University faculty wants Chick-fil-A banned from campus for fears of 'safety,' 'mental well being'

A few Kansas University faculty members are not fans of allowing Chick-fil-A to be served on campus because they believe the chain violates "safety and inclusion".

The faculty council, filled with "extreme frustration," wants America's favorite restaurant removed from campus for being a "bastion of bigotry" after KU administrators relocated a Chick-fil-A from a basement to "prime real estate" on campus to the Memorial Union. But worse yet, to the council, is the "Chick-fil-A Coin Toss" at the start of the Jayhawks' football home games.

“The culture of Chick-fil-A fosters hate and discrimination on multiple levels,” the Sexuality & Gender Diversity Faculty and Staff Council wrote in a two-page letter, accusing university leaders of being "more concerned about money and corporate sponsorship than the physical, emotional, and mental well being of marginalized and LGBTQ people."

Sheriff blasts immigration policies in Maryland county after sexual assault accusation by illegal immigrant

“It’s really outrageous,” Jenkins told “Fox & Friends.” Monday.

A Honduran national in the U.S. illegally has been accused of raping his 15-year-old stepdaughter in suburban Maryland, the seventh such case in the area over the past five weeks.

The guy sits down at the bar and the robot asks: "What will you have?"

The guy replies, "Whiskey."

The robot brings back his drink and asks, "What's your IQ?"

The guy says, "168"

The robot talks about physics, space exploration and medical technology.

After the guy leaves, he pauses at the street corner and thinks about what he just encountered.

And the more he thinks about it, the more curious he gets, so he decides to go back.

The robot asks, "What's your drink?"

The guy answers, "Whiskey."

The robot returns with his drink and asks, "What's your IQ?"

This time the man replies, "100."

The robot talks about Nascar, Budweiser, NFL Football, and All Star Wrestling.

The man finishes his drink, leaves, but is so interested in this "Experiment" that he decides he'll try again.

He enters the bar and , as usual, the robot asks him what he wants to drink.

The man replies, "Whiskey."

The robot brings the drink and asks, "What's your IQ?"

This time the man answers, "50."

The robot leans in real close and slowly asks, "So, are you people still unhappy that Hillary Lost?"
