Donald Trump Warns Republicans from Effort to Block Mexico Tariffs

President Donald Trump warned Republicans Tuesday not to try and block his proposed tariffs on Mexico.

“No. I don’t think that they will do that,” Trump said. “I think if they do it is foolish, there’s nothing more important than borders, I’ve had tremendous Republican support.”

The Washington Post reported Monday night that Republicans in Congress had begun “discussing” the idea of blocking Trump’s proposed tariffs.

Trump reminded Republicans that he had a 94 percent approval rating in the Republican party.

“That’s an all-time record … I love records,” he added.

REPORT: NBA MIGHT BAN THE TERM ‘OWNER’ DUE TO RACIAL OVERTONES

The NBA might nix the term “owner” from its vocabulary so as to avoid the suggestion of racial insensitivity, according to a new report.

The report from TMZ Sports states that two franchises have already made the switch, referring to their majority shareholders by other names. Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Balmer is referred to as the team’s “CEO,” and the Philadelphia 76ers now refer to their main shareholders as “limited partners.”

The TMZ report pointed to an episode of LeBron James‘ HBO show “The Shop,” in which Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green appeared to take offense to the term “owner,” saying it fosters a “slave-to-master” relationship.

From Convicted Murderer to Exoneree to Law Grad

What would you do if you were falsely accused and convicted of a brutal rape and murder you didn't commit?

How would you handle a violent maximum-security prison, sentenced 16 years to life, at age 17?

And where would you go, what would you choose to do, if you won your freedom back after full exoneration?

Jeffrey Deskovic, 45, graduated from Pace University School of Law three weeks ago to rousing cheers from friends, family and faculty. On its own, the achievement warrants celebration. Any graduation does. But Deskovic's feat is just one of an extraordinary set of milestones in the extraordinary life of an extraordinary man I'm honored to know and support.

Clarence Thomas Shows Left’s Hypocrisy on Discrimination

Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas is, once again, under attack.

And, once again, the attacks are from liberals who cannot tolerate Thomas’ consistent, unyielding and faithful commitment to America’s founding principles.

The latest concerns Thomas’ 20-page opinion offered up in Box v. Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, recently considered by the Supreme Court.

Planned Parenthood challenged Indiana law prohibiting abortion for reasons of sex, race or non-life threatening deformity.

The challenge was upheld in district court and the law overturned. However, the Supreme Court chose not to rule on the matter for procedural reasons, turning it back to be heard on appeal at the district level.

Funerals Are Now Unaffordable. Local Governments Are Paying the Price.

Jimmy Pollard knew his state had a serious problem surrounding death. As the coroner for Henry County and a consultant for the Kentucky Coroners Association, Pollard had seen lots of instances in which family members couldn’t afford to bury or cremate a loved one. But the problem of “funeral poverty” was getting worse.

Pollard realized just how bad things had gotten when, a few years ago, the county judge approached him and said, “I’m out of money for indigent burials this year, and I’ve got six months left to go.”

Despite pleas from the judge and from Pollard, neither the state nor the county has invested more money for burials. “I tried to talk to the state judges’ association,” says Pollard, “but I could tell it didn’t really soak in. More money would help, but right now is a bad time to ask for more money in Kentucky for anything, because it’s just not there.”

Pfizer 'deliberately buried' data showing its arthritis drug might also prevent Alzheimer's

One of the world's biggest drug firms deliberately buried data showing one of its arthritis medications could slash the risk of Alzheimer's.

Pfizer kept its finding under wraps for more than three years because, it claims, it didn't believe the evidence was strong enough.

It found the link between Alzheimer's and the drug Enbrel when analysing medical insurance claims in hundreds of thousands of people in the US.

People taking Enbrel, an anti-inflammatory used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, appeared to be 64 per cent less likely to develop the memory-robbing disorder.

Law will target left lane slowpokes

MINNEAPOLIS — Slower traffic should keep to the right. It's one of the first things we learn when we start driving in Minnesota and anywhere else for that matter.

Starting Aug. 1, the state's traffic laws will make it crystal clear left lane slowpokes have to get out of the way, or face a $50 ticket plus $75 surcharges and court fees.

"It’s just safer, whether it be moving over to let traffic flow, or to prevent road rage and other things that happen out on the roadways," Lt. Gordon Shank of the Minnesota State Patrol told KARE.

He said troopers would use their discretion and weigh the circumstances in deciding whether to issue tickets or warnings to slowpokes.

Rand Paul: Deep State Ignored Order to Pull John Brennan’s Security Clearance

Appearing Tuesday on CNN, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) slammed the intelligence community over a recent report claiming it defied an order from President Donald Trump to revoke the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan.

A partial transcript is as follows:

HOST BRIANNA KEILAR: I want to ask you, because you’ve been really a critic of John Brennan, who has been a critic of President Trump. You’ve not been a big fan of him. You’ve said that. He’s the former CIA director under President Obama. What do you think about this recent New York Times story that Brennan still has his security clearance? This was such a big, I guess, promise of the president’s, demand of the president. He said he was going to pull it, and he still has it.

SEN. RAND PAUL: Well, this is what worries me. People talk about the Deep State. Now the Deep State is actually protecting their own and not listening to the president’s orders. I was sitting in the White House when President Trump said, “I want his security clearance taken,” and I saw the order given. I saw the chief of staff was there, not the current chief of staff, the previous chief of staff.

The seven Republicans who voted on Tuesday with Democrats to grant illegal aliens amnesty include:

Congressman Don Bacon (R-NE)
Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL)
Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA)
Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX)

Reps. Fitzpatrick, Hurd, and Upton voted in favor of ending Trump’s national emergency on the southern border.

North Korea’s Nuclear Bomb Is Much Bigger than Previously Thought

Scientists looking anew at a 2017 North Korean nuclear test discovered that the explosion was likely about two-thirds more powerful than U.S. officials previously thought.

Earlier data put the yield somewhere between 30 and 300 kilotons; the U.S. intelligence community said 140 kilotons. That was already the most powerful device tested by North Korea, topping a 2016 test by about an order of magnitude. But a new look at seismological data suggests that the blast was between 148 and 328 kilotons, and probably around 250 kilotons.

That’s the conclusion from a group of researchers from the University of California, Santa Cruz; the Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica; and elsewhere, as published Monday in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth. The team combined sound-wave data recorded during the blast with information about North Korean nuclear tests since 2006 and plugged it all into models showing how sound would travel through various types of rock at an estimated depth of 430 to 710 meters.

A 250-kiloton weapon would be about 16 times more powerful than the one that leveled Hiroshima. Detonated over Washington, D.C., it would have knocked down virtually every residential structure in the downtown area and inflicted third-degree burns on everyone within a three-mile radius.

The crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border has exploded.

Border agents apprehended 144,278 migrants in May, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Acting Chief (CBP) Operating Officer John P. Sanders told reporters Wednesday. That’s a 32% increase over April, he said.

“We are in a full-blown emergency, and I cannot say this stronger: the system is broken,” Sanders said. The chief said that nearly 700,000 foreigners have been apprehended in the past eight months, which he noted is “more than the population of Miami.”

The May total was the highest in 13 years, border officials said, and included 11,391 “inadmissibles.” Last month’s total was also a 182% over May 2018.

Graham on Tariffs: ‘Trump Is Not the Problem — Mexico Is the Problem’

Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox News @ Night,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) explained why he was not one of his U.S. Senate colleagues that opposed levying tariffs against Mexico for its seemingly lack of willingness to control its southern border, which is contributing to U.S. immigration problems.

Graham argued the angst from Republicans was misguided at President Donald Trump.

“Tariffs would be tough on the economy,” Graham said. “But the borders are broken that needs to be fixed. And if tariffs is what it takes to get Mexico to do better on their side of the border, I’m all for tariffs. Trump is not the problem. Mexico is the problem. Republicans are not the problem. Democrats won’t vote to change the laws. Now, why do we have a million people coming here from Central America? They know that if you read a card claiming asylum, you’re entitled to a hearing. It takes three or four years to get a hearing. We don’t have enough bed space so we’d let you go.”

Immigrants Stealing Succulents from State Parks, Harming Ecosystem

Foreign nationals, primarily from Asia, are reportedly disrupting West Coast ecosystems by arriving in the United States and stealing succulent plants from U.S. state parks.

A detailed report by the Washington Post reveals how foreign nationals from Asia are increasingly coming to the U.S. to rip succulent plants out of the ground at state parks to sell them in their home countries of South Korea, China, and Japan.

The Post noted the most recent case in which wildlife detectives caught three South Korean nationals stealing succulents after arriving in the U.S.:

But wildlife detectives who had been tracking the three South Korean nationals since they arrived at Los Angeles International Airport in October 2018 noticed that their rented minivan was full of boxes and rubber totes — not the typical gear for a week-long vacation. The men chatted on handheld radios as they explored the parks and always seemed to wear bulky backpacks. Watching from a distance, wardens saw what they were stuffing inside: Dudleya succulents, which have spiky blue-green leaves immediately recognizable to anyone on Pinterest and Instagram.

Denmark Admits Country Has ‘Big Problem’ With Criminal Migrants

The minister’s statements come in reaction to a study by Danish media that discovered Somalis were by far the largest foreign nationality in Denmark to be convicted for violence with 916 convictions between 2014 and 2018, Danish tabloid B.T. reports.

“Your data clearly shows that there is a big problem with criminal foreigners that we should not have in our society,” Poulsen said and went on to defend the Danish government’s migration policies saying, “we have tightened the expulsion rules so that we can more easily expel foreigners.”

Catholic Church spent $10.6 million to lobby against legislation that would benefit victims of child sex abuse

A new report released Tuesday reveals that, over the past eight years, the Catholic Church has spent $10.6 million in the northeastern United States to fight legislation that would help victims of clergy sexual abuse seek justice.

"At the most basic level, we were inspired by frustration," says attorney Gerald Williams, a partner at Williams Cedar, one of four law firms that jointly commissioned the report. "We represent hundreds of people, who have truly been victimized by clergymen in the Catholic Church. We've heard a lot about the church's desire to be accountable and turn over a new leaf. But when we turn to the form where we can most help people and where we can get the most justice — the courts of justice — the church has been there blocking their efforts."

In New York, for example, the Catholic Church spent $2,912,772 lobbying against the Child Victims Act, which Governor Andrew Cuomo ultimately signed into law on February 14, 2019. The act gives survivors more time to seek justice against their abusers, increasing the age at which victims are able to sue from 23 to 55.

Rep. Doug Collins: Nadler Knows He Can't Win in Court

Rep. Doug Collins Wednesday said House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler's offer to resume negotiations with the Department of Justice over documents connected with special counsel Robert Mueller's report was made because "he knows he can't win in court."

"We are seeing a chairman who really doesn't know what he wants, except that frankly, he wants to subpoena everything that moves to contempt," the Georgia Republican told Fox News' "America's Newsroom."

"The chairman is not negotiating. He is coming back with the same talking points as what he said before."

Late Tuesday, Nadler, D-N.Y., said in a letter to the DOJ that he's willing to negotiate "without conditions" immediately about it turning over the documents, reports Fox News.

"What he is saying is that we want what we want," said Collins. "To say it is good faith on his part is not, when he asked the attorney general for something that he couldn't do.

Behind the Push for Open Borders

If you care about America, you MUST take 10 minutes to listen to this very clear explanation of who is behind the invasion of our borders and what it means for the future. And while the Democrats refuse to help the President address the border crisis, they overwhelmingly just passed amnesty legislation which will worsen the border crisis by incentivizing more people to cross our borders illegally in hopes of getting a piece of the amnesty pie. Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, said. “No doubt at this very minute, the smuggling cartels are getting the word out: Congress is going to legalize millions.”

Democrats plan town hall event on Trump's 'deteriorating' mental health

House Democrats say they will provide a platform to a psychiatrist to speak to members and the public on what she calls President Trump’s deteriorating mental state, despite professional guidelines against diagnosing public figures.

Dr. Bandy Lee, a Yale School of Medicine psychiatrist who edited a book titled “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President” will attend the town-hall style meeting on Capitol Hill, to which all lawmakers will be invited.

According to Lee, attendees at the town hall would watch a condensed video that was recorded at a Washington, D.C., event held at the National Press Club in March that featured 13 experts discussing how they didn't think Trump was fit for office.

Rep. John Yarmuth, Kentucky Democrat and House Budget Committee chairman and Rep. Jamie Raskin, Maryland Democrat, will host Dr. Lee and perhaps other psychiatrists, The Hill reported.

Mo Brooks: Democrats Want Amnesty for Illegals to Ensure ‘Reliable Socialist’ Voting Bloc

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) says elected Democrats want to give amnesty to the 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the United States for the purpose of ensuring a “reliable socialist Democrat” voting bloc.

While every House Democrat and seven House Republicans voted to give amnesty — and thus a pathway to American citizenship — to all 11 to 22 million illegal aliens on Tuesday, Brooks said the goal is to solidify a permanent left-wing voting base of foreign-born voters.

“Since illegal aliens are heavily dependent on welfare, once they get the amnesty the American citizenship Socialist Democrats desperately seek to bestow, that makes them reliable Socialist Democrat voters,” Brooks said.

“After all, Socialist Democrats are the party for taking much-needed money from hard-working American taxpayers to pay for welfare for those who prefer to vote for a living rather than work for one,” Brooks continued. “Quite frankly, Socialist Democrats don’t give one twit about the thousands of dead Americans who die each year because of illegal alien homicides.”

A 97-year-old vet jumped out of a plane to recreate his D-Day parachute drop

For most people, a summer trip to France is a chance to relax in beautiful surroundings and to savor the country's fine food. For Tom Rice of San Diego, it's an opportunity to relive the time he nearly died jumping from a C-47 Douglas airplane, then was shot at, again and again.

Despite being 97, Rice climbed once more into the bone-rattling fuselage of a C-47 and, while flying over the Normandy fields where he first saw action in 1944, leaped into the unknown.

Those on the ground watched the anxiety-inducing descent as, strapped to another parachutist dangling beneath a stars and stripes canopy, the old man coasted through the sky, another gigantic American flag billowing out behind him.

Reaching the ground with only a slight stumble on impact, Rice proudly gave V for victory signs with his hands and, wearing a 101st Airborne baseball cap, said he felt "great" and was ready to "go back up and do it again."
