One of the world's most successful brands committed ideological hara-kiri this week. Recognized around the world as a symbol of manly civility for more than a century, Gillette will now be remembered as the company that did itself in by sacrificing a massive consumer base at the altar of progressivism.
To which I say: R.I.P.-C. (Rest In Political Correctness).
In case you hadn't seen or heard, parent company Procter & Gamble launched a Gillette ad campaign blanket-demonizing men as ogres and bullies. Guilt-ridden actors gaze ruefully at their reflections in the mirror — not because they've neglected their hygiene, but simply because they're men. Various scenarios of boys being boors and males being monsters flash across the screen before woke interlocutors show how "real" men behave in nonaggressive, conciliatory and apologetic ways.
At home and at work, in the boardroom, on the playground, and even while barbecuing in the backyard, Gillette sees nothing but testosterone-driven trouble. Message: Y chromosomes are toxic. The "best a man can get" can no longer be attained without first renouncing oppressive manliness.
Self-improvement must begin with self-flagellation.
A Gillette company statement explained that after "taking a hard look at our past" and "reflecting on the types of men and behaviors we want to celebrate," officials decided to "actively challenge the stereotypes and expectations of what it means to be a man everywhere you see Gillette."

Majority of Americans Say Abortion Should Be Restricted
A poll released Tuesday just ahead of the 46th March for Life demonstration in Washington, D.C, shows the majority of Americans support tighter restrictions on abortion, and would even like to see the landmark Roe v. Wade decision “reinterpreted” to allow more restrictions.
The annual survey conducted by Marist in partnership with the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization, reveals that three-quarters of Americans oppose taxpayer funding for abortion abroad, even though 55 percent of Americans polled identify as pro-choice.
Additionally, 75 percent of Americans—including those who identify as Republican (92 percent), Democrat (60 percent), and independent (78 percent)—said abortion should be limited to the first three months of pregnancy.
“As in past years, this poll shows that the pro-choice label on the abortion issue is simply insufficient,” said Knights of Columbus CEO Carl Anderson in a statement.
“The majority of Americans—in both parties—support legal restrictions on abortion,” Anderson added. “Two-thirds of Americans want Roe revisited to allow for state regulation of abortion or to ban it altogether. The majority of the American people deserve to have their opinions heard.”

‘THE SMOKING GUN’: Google Manipulated YouTube Search Results
In sworn testimony, Google CEO Sundar Pichai told Congress last month that his company does not “manually intervene” on any particular search result. Yet an internal discussion thread leaked to Breitbart News reveals Google regularly intervenes in search results on its YouTube video platform – including a recent intervention that pushed pro-life videos out of the top ten search results for “abortion.”
The term “abortion” was added to a “blacklist” file for “controversial YouTube queries,” which contains a list of search terms that the company considers sensitive. According to the leak, these include some of these search terms related to: abortion, abortions, the Irish abortion referendum, Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and anti-gun activist David Hogg.
The existence of the blacklist was revealed in an internal Google discussion thread leaked to Breitbart News by a source inside the company who wishes to remain anonymous. A partial list of blacklisted terms was also leaked to Breitbart by another Google source.
In the leaked discussion thread, a Google site reliability engineer hinted at the existence of more search blacklists, according to the source.
“We have tons of white- and blacklists that humans manually curate,” said the employee. “Hopefully this isn’t surprising or particularly controversial.”

Border rancher: 'We’ve found prayer rugs out here. It’s unreal'
Ranchers and farmers near the U.S.-Mexico border have been finding prayer rugs on their properties in recent months, according to one rancher who asked to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation by cartels.
The mats are pieces of carpet that those of the Muslim faith kneel on as they worship during their unauthorized trek into and through the United States.
"There’s a lot of people coming in not just from Mexico," the rancher said. "People, the general public, just don’t get the terrorist threats of that. That’s what’s really scary. You don’t know what’s coming across. We’ve found prayer rugs out here. It’s unreal. It’s not just Mexican nationals that are coming across."
"I've talked to several agents that I trust. There’s not a lot that I do trust, but the ones I do trust, I talk to them," she said during a tour of her property. "What Border Patrol classifies as OTMs [other than Mexicans] has really increased in the last couple years, but drastically within the last six months. Chinese, Germans, Russians, a lot of Middle Easterners. Those Czechoslovakians they caught over on our neighbor’s just last summer."

LEAK: ‘Huge Teams’ Engaged in Manual Interventions on Google Search Results
Google has “huge teams” working on manual interventions in search results, an apparent contradiction of sworn testimony made to Congress by CEO Sundar Pichai, according to an internal post leaked to Breitbart News.
“There are subjects that are prone to hyperbolic content, misleading information, and offensive content,” said Daniel Aaronson, a member of Google’s Trust & Safety team.
“Now, these words are highly subjective and no one denies that. But we can all agree generally, lines exist in many cultures about what is clearly okay vs. what is not okay.”
“In extreme cases where we need to act quickly on something that is so obviously not okay, the reactive/manual approach is sometimes necessary.”
The comments came to light in a leaked internal discussion thread, started by a Google employee who noticed that the company had recently changed search results for “abortion” on its YouTube video platform, a change which caused pro-life videos to largely disappear from the top ten results.
In addition to the “manual approach,” Aaronson explained that Google also trained automated “classifiers” – algorithms or “scalable solutions” that corrects “problems” in search results.

Nolte: Pelosi 'Disinviting' Trump from State of the Union is Yuge Opportunity
Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats just stepped in it, big-time.
According to various news reports, Pelosi has “disinvited” President Trump from making the annual State of the Union address to Congress.
With just days left until he was supposed to deliver this widely-viewed speech on January 29, Politico reports that, fearing Trump will use the nationally-televised address to blame Democrats for the ongoing partial shutdown of the government, Pelosi “asked President Donald Trump to reschedule his State of the Union address — or deliver it in writing — as long as the government remains shut down.”

How Gun Control Became an Instrument of Tyranny in Venezuela
Gun control: Turning citizens into disarmed subjects
Is Venezuela paying the price for adopting gun control?
The shocking nature of Venezuela’s economic collapse has been covered ad nauseam. However, one aspect of the Venezuelan crisis that does not receive much coverage is the country’s gun control regime.
Fox News recently published an excellent article highlighting Venezuelan citizens’ regret over the gun control policies the Venezuelan government has implemented since 2012. Naturally, this regret is warranted. The Venezuelan government is among the most tyrannical in the world, with a proven track record of violating basic civil libertiessuch as free speech, debasing its national currency, confiscating private property, and creating economic controls that destroy the country’s productivity.

Understanding Why the Deep State Had to Take Down General Michael Flynn
Does the American public really understand what happened to Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn? Highlights of the case have been thoroughly exploited by the shallow, left-leaning media as a convenient avenue to attack President Trump. But important elements of the story remain largely buried from public view.
The tragic political demise of this distinguished general who was President Trump's initial national security adviser, one of the key jobs in the White House, has been well documented. Former FBI director James Comey and the now disgraced upper echelon of the FBI and, subsequently, Special Counsel Robert Mueller maliciously trapped him, resulting in his ultimate prosecution and pleading guilty to lying to the FBI. Not only did Flynn lose an important and influential job in the White House, but they also bankrupted him with legal fees; threatened his family; and, worst of all, damaged the good name of a highly decorated military professional who served his country honorably and with distinction as a member of the American Intelligence Community.
The despicable and unethical attack on Flynn immediately after his appointment by Trump was just one element of a shameful Deep State campaign to discredit and destroy the Trump presidency. As Trump's national security adviser, Flynn had Trump's ear. He was potentially the Deep State's worst nightmare. Flynn knows in detail how the Intelligence Community and the FISA courts operate. With a 33-year military career, including heading up the Defense Intelligence Agency, Flynn was an existential threat to outgoing President Obama and his shameless and highly partisan CIA director, John Brennan, who cynically and criminally corrupted the Intelligence Community for political purposes on behalf of Obama and Hillary Clinton.

‘Alarming’ burnout is making doctors suicidal
Doctor burnout is becoming a huge problem, according to new research, which finds that nearly half of all physicians feel completely depleted, to the point where one in seven have contemplated suicide.
The annual Medscape report, released Wednesday, finds that on average, 44 percent of the medical professionals that your existence depends on report feeling stressed out to the point where they’ve considered leaving the field altogether.
A higher percentage of these wiped-out life-savers are women, according to the survey of more than 15,000 doctors.
“It’s alarming,” says Brunilda Nazario, lead medical director at WebMD, which owns Medscape. “These numbers haven’t changed, and the problem just continues to be a trend, despite increasing programs to address wellness,” such as “nutrition and exercise programs, or more time off.”

Group files RICO lawsuit over Southern Poverty Law Center 'hate' label
One of the most prominent groups advocating for stricter immigration went to court Wednesday to demand a judge order the Southern Poverty Law Center to stop labeling it a “hate group,” accusing the self-described watchdog of running an illegal racket to silence political opponents.
The Center for Immigration Studies says the SPLC’s accusations of “racist” and “anti-immigrant” are not only wrong, but they have cost the nonprofit support and financial backing by scaring people away from doing business with the center.
CIS brought its challenge in federal district court in Washington, D.C., filing a civil complaint under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) act against SPLC President Richard Cohen and Heidi Beirich, who runs the group’s Hatewatch blog.
Mark Krikorian, CIS’s executive director, says his organization doesn’t meet the SPLC’s own definition of a hate group and the Alabama-based watchdog knows it, but persists anyway — which he said was evidence of the racket.
“SPLC and its leaders have every right to oppose our work on immigration, but they do not have the right to label us a hate group and suggest we are racists,” he said. “The Center for Immigration Studies is fighting back against the SPLC smear campaign and its attempt to stifle debate through intimidation and name-calling.”

Group aligned with Ocasio-Cortez prepares to take out Democrats
Justice Democrats is forging ahead with plans to mount primaries against incumbent Democrats it deems too moderate — with the apparent backing of Ocasio-Cortez.
Justice Democrats, the liberal group that engineered Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s meteoric rise — hijacking the Democratic Party in the process — is ready to go to war.
The opening salvo? An eight-minute video released Wednesday starring Ocasio-Cortez and calling for a new crop of activists and community organizers to run against the Democratic machine.
“If you're a one-term Congress member, so what?” Ocasio-Cortez says in the video. “You can make 10 years worth of change in one term if you're not afraid.”
Justice Democrats, which orchestrated Ocasio-Cortez’s long-shot bid last year against the fourth-ranking House Democrat, Joe Crowley, hopes to replicate its success in blue districts across the country.

Are Some Opioid Abusers Using Their Pets to Get the Drugs?
To fight America's opioid epidemic, lawmakers and regulators have clamped down hard on doctors' prescribing practices.
But one avenue for obtaining prescription opioids appears to have been overlooked, according to a new study.
Veterinarians are prescribing large quantities of opioids to pets, raising concern that some people might be using Fido or Snuggles to feed theiraddiction.
Opioid prescriptions from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine rose 41 percent between 2007 and 2017, even though the annual number of visits increased by just 13 percent, researchers found.
Penn Vet handed out 105 million tramadol tablets, 97,500 hydrocodone (Hycodan) tablets, and nearly 39,000 codeine tablets during the study period, results show.
"I think it would come as a surprise to everyone, the quantities," said senior author Dr. Jeanmarie Perrone, director of medical toxicology at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine.
Not just for pets
It's very likely at least some of these drugs wound up being used by humans, said Emily Feinstein, executive vice president of the Center on Addiction.
"There's a small percentage, I'm sure, of people in this data who are using their pets and an encounter with a veterinarian as a means of getting themselves opioids," Feinstein said.
The U.S. opioid crisis led to roughly 50,000 overdose deaths in 2017, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Alexander: MLK v the Democrat Party
Black Americans are recognizing that Democrats have turned MLK's dream into a nightmare.
In 1983, Republican President Ronald Reagan signed into law a bill designating the third Monday in January a national holiday honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who was born on 15 January 1929. King, like his father and grandfather before him, was a Baptist minister. He was pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, and Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, and he founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.
Next Monday is the official federal observance of the MLK holiday.
However, this week, there was another King in the news.
The Republican Party took swift action against one of its own, Iowa Rep. Steve King, for remarks that reflect a profound insensitivity, if not abject ignorance, to our nation’s history of racial intolerance. King, lacking any modicum of self-awareness, asked, “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?”
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) stripped King of his committee assignments, stating, “We will not tolerate this type of language in the Republican Party … or in the Democrat Party as well.” He noted that King’s remarks “call into question whether he will treat all Americans equally, without regard for race and ethnicity. … Let us hope and pray earnestly that this action will lead to greater reflection and ultimately change on his part.”
In the midst of Rep. King’s condemnation by both Republicans and Democrat leaders, Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel called on Democrats to deal with racism within their own ranks, noting, “I hope Nancy Pelosi also takes action against all the Democrats who continue to associate with prominent anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan.”

THIS IS FROM A WOMAN WHO OWNS PROPERTY ON THE MEXICO / UNITED STATES BORDER.
THIS IS IN REAL TIME, HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!
Lin Myers Ellis:
"I live on the Border and NO one but us knows what is happening.
"I live 1/2 mile from the border in El Indio, Texas. Last week, we had over 40 people pass through our ranch. One group of about 15 men pulled a gun on my husband and had a 13 yr old Mexican girl that they kidnapped from Guerrerro, MX. She had blood all over her and had urinated on herself.
My husband was able to, with the help of Border Patrol agents in a helicopter who passed over, get the gun from the illegal man (he was Honduran) and they rushed the poor girl to the emergency room for help because she had in fact been kidnapped and gang raped by these men. This is just one of many stories we have.
Two nights ago, 3 men came up to our house. One of them was an elderly man who was almost dead. We gave them water and protein bars, called BP and 911 for the man to go to the emegency room.
We are kind people and believe in helping people in need BUT there have been 3 attacks on my husband on our ranch, 2 of which were directly at my home, in the last 3 months. And that really means something because we are considered an area that does not NEED alot of help!!!
I got so MAD when I watched and heard what Pelosi and Schumer said concerning Trump's "manufactured" drama with the border.
That is such garbage!!!! They are ignorant liars!!! How many people have to be hurt or attacked?
There has to be someone in our government who stands up and helps our Border Patrol. From Eagle Pass to Laredo, there are only 3-5 guys on call, and it could be 2 guys against a group of 50+.
Its horrible!! We need help!! The wall needs to be built, not at the port of entries but between them.
Pelosi is a moron if she thinks that added more security at the borders will help because, Hello Nancy, they are NOT COMING THROUGH THE BORDERS.
THEY ARE COMING THROUGH MESQUITE AND BRUSH.

Gillette Faces Widespread Mockery, Backlash for Man-Scolding Ad
Shaving product manufacturer Gillette received an overwhelmingly negative response to its latest advertisement campaign, which takes a stand against “toxic masculinity.”
The advertisement, which received over 330,000 dislikes on YouTube against just 75,000 likes, asked viewers, “Is this the best a man can get?” in a twist on the company’s classic tagline, “The best a man can get,” and took on a number of issues, including sexual harassment and bullying, but also masculinity.
At the start of the video, “toxic masculinity” is read out as one of the main negative issues in society, along with “bullying,” and “sexual harassment.”
Gillette’s parent company P&G has previously engaged in left-wing activism, and in 2017, the company joined Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s campaign to raise awareness about the “gender pay gap,” by offering rebates to women.

Rush mocks Gillette for using 'militant feminism' to sell razor blades to men
Rush Limbaugh says Gillette’s widely panned spot on “toxic masculinity” provides the American public a sterling example of left-wing ideology in practice.
The man behind “the golden EIB microphone” told millions of radio listeners this week that Procter & Gamble, the razor maker’s parent company, bet on “militant feminism” — and lost.
His commentary comes one day after “We Believe: The Best Men Can Be” generated over 440,000 “dislikes” on YouTube and a torrent of negative feedback.
“The people putting together the marketing plan, the advertising plan are themselves the same age-group being targeted,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “They, of course, are the product of a bunch of ill-education and political correctness that they have been indoctrinated with while at college.”
“What’s actually happening is that masculinity is being drummed out of the Millennial and Gen Y, I think it is, the generation after them, of these cultures,” he continued. “Militant feminism on the march, a bunch of angry women blaming men for their overall unhappiness now taking it out on men at large for their own unhappiness. And they’re just gonna end up making everybody miserable, which is a hallmark trait of liberalism.”

LA teachers union advocates for illegals, then complains of overcrowded classrooms
About 30,000 Los Angeles teachers and school employees are holding education hostage to demand higher pay and “smaller class sizes” – a popular phrase that equates to more dues paying union employees.
On picket lines across the district Monday, striking teachers toted protest signs in the rain as they swapped horror stories about classes with 40 or more students packed in “like sardines.” What they didn’t discuss: How the United Teachers Los Angeles union’s immigration policies contribute to overcrowded schools and its demands for more staff to handle the situation.
“It’s absolutely not about the pay raise. It’s about class size reduction. In other words, hire more teachers,” teacher Andrea Cohen told CNN. “We want to have fully staffed schools. That means librarians, nurses, psychiatric social workers and their interns. We have 46, 45, 50 students in a class. That’s unacceptable.”

Video: Angel Moms Protest Inside Chuck Schumer’s Office
A group of Angel Moms on Tuesday are protesting inside Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) Capitol Hill office over the Democratic leader’s refusal to support legislation to fund a U.S.-Mexico border wall as the partial government shutdown continues.
Earlier Tuesday, the Angel Moms protested inside the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who refused to meet with the group, and were reportedly lied to about the Democrat leader’s whereabouts.
“It’s a slap, it’s a stab, it’s a kick in the gut, in the groin,” Sabine Durden, whose son Dominic was struck dead in 2012 by an illegal alien, said of Pelosi’s and other Democrats’ decision not to meet with Angel Mothers.
“It’s not a matter of if you’re going to be affected by illegal alien crime, it’s when you are going to be affected,” replied Mary Ann Mendoza, whose 32-year-old police officer Brandon Mendoza was killed by a drunk illegal alien driving on the wrong way down a Mesa, Arizona highway.
Radio host Rose Tennent, who was filming the protest using her cell phone, asked the women how it feels to tell their story, only then to be refused a meeting with the speaker. Some of Angel Moms said they felt angered and “insulted.”

Most Young Adults Disagree With Democrats on Abortion
The Democrats’ national platform doesn’t just lack common decency when it comes to unborn life—it lacks common ground. For the last three years, the party of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton has been fighting to do away with consensus limits on abortion—and based on the latest polling, that isn’t exactly endearing them to voters.
In 2016, the Democrat National Committee decided to take Democrats where no party had gone before. Clinton’s radical call to repeal the Hyde Amendment, the only thing standing between taxpayers and government-funded abortion, wasn’t just unpopular with Democrat leaders like Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Rep. Dan Lipinski of Illinois, but Americans, too. She went on to lose the election, and a lot of pundits—including The Washington Post’s—think her extreme social views were a big reason why.
The DNC didn’t listen to Americans then, but if it cares about the millennial vote, it may want to listen now. Most people—the media included—assume the under-34 crowd is in the left’s back pocket. But a new survey from Students for Life of America shows what a mistake that assumption has been.

PragerU Files New Lawsuit Against Google
Conservative non-profit group PragerU has filed a second lawsuit against Google, accusing the company of censoring conservative viewpoints by “engaging in unlawful, misleading, and unfair businesses practices.”
Fox News reports that the conservative non-profit group PragerU – founded by radio host Dennis Prager and which produces short informative videos on conservative topics — has filed another lawsuit against Google, accusing the search engine and its video hosting subsidiary YouTube of censorship of conservative viewpoints. A lawsuit was filed against the firm in the Superior Court in the State of California last Tuesday.
The suit claims: “This lawsuit is ‘round two’ of the parties’ dispute over whether Google/YouTube are above the law when it comes to regulating free speech and expression on YouTube solely because Defendants are private entities who own and operate YouTube for their own profit and commercial gain.”
The suit alleges that both Google and YouTube are violating California law in four ways, including unlawfully restraining free speech in violation of the state’s constitution and discriminating against the conservative non-profit based on political, religious, “or other discriminatory animus” in violation of California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act.

Comptroller Franchot Announces Help for Federal Workers Affected by Shutdown
For those on payment plans, financial relief offered
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - As the partial federal government shutdown extends into its fourth week, Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot today announced a plan to provide financial relief to impacted federal workers unsure when their next paycheck will arrive.
Federal contractors, furloughed employees, and those working without pay currently on payment plans with the State may be granted reduced or even suspended payments while the shutdown drags on.
“The longer this government shutdown lasts, the more financial hardship it is causing federal workers, some of whom may never get repaid,” said Comptroller Franchot. “My agency recognizes that Marylanders affected by this prolonged impass face a greater burden to make ends meet and to fulfill their tax obligations. As always, we stand ready to help Marylanders facing these challenging times.”
The assistance provided by the Comptroller’s Office will help federal workers with personal income liabilities and other outstanding tax obligations. As specific circumstances vary, each request will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Affected federal workers, including federal contractors and federal employees working without pay, who may have outstanding Maryland tax obligations, are encouraged to contact the Comptroller of Maryland’s Ombudsman’s Office via email at ombudsman@comp.state.md.us or via telephone at 410-260-4020.

AG Nominee William Barr Explains Why The Rule Of Law Is Important
Attorney general nominee William Barr explained during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday why the rule of law is important in America.
“As our framers said in the Federalist Papers, the art of setting up a government is to have a government that is strong enough to perform the functions that a government has to perform while at the same time not being so strong that it can oppress its own people,” Barr responded to Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz when asked why the rule of law matters.
“The rule of law ensures precisely that the government not oppress its own people,” Barr continued. “When people are accused of wrongdoing, our system essentially gives them the benefit of the doubt and gives them rights that bring them up essentially to the same level as the government.”

HILARIOUS: CNN Analyst Accuses Radio Host Of 'White Privilege.' His Response Is Priceless.
On Tuesday morning, CNN legal analyst Areva Martin, appearing as a guest on a show hosted by David Webb, who is a host n Fox Nation and also hosts a show on Sirius XM radio, spoke too soon when she accused him of “white privilege,” prompting Webb to disabuse her of that notion with one simple response.
Webb stated, “Areva, I hate to break it to you, but you should’ve been better prepped. I’m black.”
The exchange came during a debate revolving around the qualifications required for being hired, as Mediate reports, noting, “Webb said as a general rule when applying for jobs he cares more about his work-related expertise and experience, not skin color.”
The exchange began with Webb asking, “Shouldn’t their requirement, their primary requirement, regardless of ethnicity or regardless of net worth, be that they are capable of covering politics? For instance, if you’re going to cover political campaigns, sports may not be the most qualified background. And that brings to the point if people want to get into these fields, regardless of color, I’ve chosen to cross different parts of the media world, done the work so that I’m qualified to be in each one; I never considered my color the issue; I considered my qualifications the issue.”

Democratic National Committee Ends Partnership With Women’s March
The Democratic National Committee is ending its formal support of the National “Women’s March” organization, becoming the latest of 300 groups to do so as the national organization continues to make itself the center of negative attention due to its leaders’ long-running association with anti-semitic figures.
The DNC is the latest major liberal organization to disassociate itself with the march. Prominent liberal activist groups such as the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League, the Human Rights Campaign, and the Southern Poverty Law Center have all ended their sponsorships of the organization.
Key leaders within the March’s national organization such as Linda Sarsour, Tamika Mallory and Carmen Perez have all expressed some level of anti-Semitism in recent years. Sarsourhas spoken in approval of Sharia Law; is an avid supporter of the movement to “Boycott, Divest and Sanction” (BDS) the Jewish state of Israel; and has maintained personal and family ties to the Hamas terrorist group, which calls for the genocide of all Jewish people in their charter.

Cummings Calls All-Out Probe of Trump ‘a Fight for the Soul of Our Democracy’
The new chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee says he will do all he can to investigate President Donald Trump and his administration over the next two years.
“We are in a fight for the soul of our democracy,” Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., said in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” that aired on Jan. 13. “And you’ve got to understand that. This is serious business.”
Cummings said that, as chairman of the committee, he has the authority to investigate anything he deems appropriate to examine.
“We can look at anything,” Cummings said, concurring with “60 Minutes” correspondent Steve Kroft’s suggestion that the Department of the Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency, for example, are fair game for investigation.

GOP Responds to Racism While Dems Ignore It
McCarthy strips King of committee assignments, while Pelosi ignores anti-Semitism within her party.
Republicans have been united and swift in rebuking one of their own, Iowa Rep. Steve King, over his recent and repeated history of seemingly racist remarks. On Monday, these public reprimands led to action as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) stripped King of his committee assignments, stating, “We will not tolerate this type of language in the Republican Party … or in the Democrat Party as well.” He further explained that King’s statements “call into question whether he will treat all Americans equally, without regard for race and ethnicity. … Let us hope and pray earnestly that this action will lead to greater reflection and ultimately change on his part.”
However, thus far, there has been no change on King’s part. He defiantly insists that his statements were “completely mischaracterized” and claims that McCarthy was motivated by “a political decision that ignores the truth.” Meanwhile, several House Democrats have introduced censure resolutions against King, so more discipline could be coming.
So about those Democrats…

E-Verify absent from immigration policy talks
Nobody in the heated debate over border security and illegal immigration is talking about requiring businesses to check whether workers are in the country legally.
The omission belies broad agreement that mandatory use of E-Verify, the government’s online system to confirm workers’ legal status, would dramatically reduce illegal immigration by turning off America’s jobs magnet.
In the past, President Trump and Senate Democrat Leader Charles E. Schumer both advocated for mandatory E-Verify with tough enforcement measures to block immigrants from working in the U.S. illegally.
They said it would remove the incentive for the vast majority of border jumpers who come looking for work and potentially would encourage some to return to their home countries.
The White House and Schumer’s office refused to answer The Washington Times’ questions about it.
“Both sides like the status quo,” said Kevin Lynn, executive director of Progressives for Immigration Reform.
He faulted Democrats for coddling immigrants living in the U.S. illegally to solidify support from Hispanic voters and Republicans for siding with businesses that want to exploit cheap labor.

Pelosi Holds the Gavel but Minorities in the ‘Tri-Caucus’ Wield Power
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is back as the most powerful woman in the House of Representatives, but as a more diverse and far left 116th Congress takes shape,it is clear minorities will want to use their newfound status to get appointed to important committees and be at the table on a wide range of policy issues.
Roll Call explained the dynamics behind the new Democratic-controlled House:
The ideological caucuses are looking to be a larger source of power in the majority since the groups’ central purpose is to develop and debate policy.
In the minority, much of the power has been delegated to the Congressional Tri-Caucus — composed of the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.

Texas woman accidentally kills her boyfriend while posing for a photo
A woman is facing manslaughter charges after she shot and killed her boyfriend as they posed for a picture in Texas.
Autumn King, 20, accidentally shot her boyfriend Eric Charles Allen, 26, two days before Christmas as they posed with a rifle for a Snapchat photo.
According to the affidavit, King and Allen, who lived in Pflugerville, had been dating for two years before the shooting.
They have a child together and lived with each other in the 12500 block of Rampart Drive, where the shooting happened around 12.30pm on December 23, police said.
'Autumn stated that she was holding a tan assault rifle and that Eric was holding Autumn’s cell phone because he was going to take a picture of her holding the assault rifle', according to the affidavit seen by The Statesman.
King told officers she had the rifle pointed towards Allen and that the assault rifle 'went off'.

Victims of Illegal Immigration Storm Nancy Pelosi’s Office
WASHINGTON, DC — Angel families, American victims of crimes committed by illegal aliens, marched on Capitol Hill and Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office Tuesday, along with legislators and Women for Trump.
The Angel families chanted “build the wall” in Pelosi’s office:
Americans who have lost loved ones at the hands of illegal aliens and because of open borders gathered on Capitol Hill Tuesday urging Congress to fund a wall along the U.S. southern border for border security.
Watch – Angel Moms: Pelosi ‘Won’t Take Meetings with Family Of People Who Have Died’
Reps. Mo Brooks, Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz were among the several legislators gathered with the Angel families and Women for Trump in front of the U.S. Capitol Building, as they put faces to the statistics of Americans killed or injured due to illegal aliens and the drugs that flow in the U.S. at the southern border. Among them were D.J. and Wendy Corcoran and their daughter Avery, Sabine Durden, Maureen Laquerre, Maureen Maloney, Mary Ann Mendoza, Kent Terry, and Susan Stevens, who have each lost a loved one. Former Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan also accompanied the group.

Arkansas Medicaid rolls fall by 18,000 after 7 months of work requirements
An additional 1,232 people failed to meet Arkansas' Medicaid work requirement in December, for a total of 18,000 people dropped from government-funded coverage since the rules kicked in seven months ago.
The latest tally will continue to offer fodder to critics who say the state's requirements are ineffective at their goal of moving people from Medicaid, where they may be unemployed or at an underpaid job, and onto employment that offers private health insurance coverage.
The rules stipulate that to keep Medicaid in Arkansas, certain beneficiaries have to report to the state that they have worked, volunteered, or taken classes for at least 80 hours a month. Three consecutive months of failing work, or to report the work, results in a loss of Medicaid. At the start of the program, people were only allowed to log their hours online, but beginning Dec. 19, people were allowed to begin reporting their work requirements by phone.

Peter Schiff: This Is The Beginning Of A Much Bigger Crisis
Wall Street has been on a roller coaster ride over the last few months. If you listen to the pundits on the financial networks, you’ll hear the word “volatile” used over and over again. That word certainly seems to describe the current state of US stock markets and in a broader sense the economy.
But during a recent interview on RT News with Rick Sanchez, Peter Schiff said it’s not that the economy is volatile. It’s actually a bubble. And we are on the verge of a bigger crisis than the one we went through in 2008.
It’s not a volatile economy, it’s a bubble economy. Thanks to the Federal Reserve, they inflated an even bigger bubble, on purpose, than the one they inflated by accident that popped in 2008. And so the economy is in much worse shape structurally today then it was before it fell apart the last time. So, this is the beginning of a much greater crisis, of a much greater recession than the one that we experienced back in 2008.”
