Trump-endorsed John James wins GOP nod for Senate in Michigan

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — Political newcomer John James, a local businessman, prevailed handily over Sandy Pensler, a Grosse Pointe financier, in the Michigan Republican primary Tuesday night, setting up a fall U.S. Senate race that may become the sleeper race of the 2018 midterm elections.

James will face Sen. Debbie Stabenow in the fall, one of 10 Democrats running to hold their seats in states President Trump won in the 2016 presidential elections that include Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown, Florida Sen. Bill Nelson, West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly, Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill, Montana Sen. Jon Tester, North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey, and Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin.

Rarely are either Baldwin or Stabenow’s races mentioned as possible flips, let alone competitive, and some pollsters are wagering that it is the Democrats who will surprise everyone and flip the 51-49 Republican Senate advantage in their direction.

Trump Is Right about the NFL Protests

I’m a big fan of David French’s work, so I was disappointed to read his column “I Understand Why They Knelt.” Respectfully (and I mean that), I believe it is off-base on almost every point that matters.

For example, French treats Trump’s suggestion that NFL players be fired as a First Amendment issue and an abridgement of their free speech. This is just not so. NFL players do have a right of free speech, but they don’t have a right to avoid criticism for engaging in that speech. Despite the fact that Trump said NFL players should be fired, he didn’t call for Congress to take action. He didn’t try to push through an executive order saying that protesting the flag should be illegal. He hasn’t promised that the government will go after the NFL. He used his free speech to criticize their free speech. I’m not sure how that violates the First Amendment or curtails the rights of the NFL players disrespecting our flag, who are still employed.

French then goes on to complain that Trump “did more to politicize sports than ESPN has done in a decade of biased, progressive programming.” Except that’s exactly backwards. ESPN and the NFL have been slamming politics down our throats for over a year. I know that because I wrote a column calling for conservatives to boycott the NFL a year ago. Many other conservatives have done the same thing, and millions of fans have complained. But when someone with a platform big enough to cut through the noise echoes the complaint so many conservatives have, he’s supposed to be at fault?

Then there’s the real complaint, an argument that in a roundabout way cuts to the heart of what I believe is wrong with French’s approach to the issue. French says: “The hypocrisy runs the other way, too. I was startled to see many conservatives who decried Google’s termination of a young, dissenting software engineer work overtime yesterday to argue that Trump was somehow in the right.”

Why I Am in Favor of Liberal or Conservative States Seceding

When anyone used to mention secession, my response was always the same, “We settled that issue during the Civil War.” I no longer feel that way and I have selfish reasons for it.

Our country is in deep trouble. The level of debt we are piling on is unsustainable and given Republican reluctance to tackle the issue along with delusional Democratic demands for even higher spending, it seems likely that we’re headed for disaster.

What would that disaster entail? Among other things, probably a refusal of foreigners to lend us money, your life savings becoming nearly worthless overnight, skyrocketing taxes, an end to Social Security and Medicare as we know it, a devastating economic crash and quite possibly even high levels of violence and disorder.

This is a wild card for our country because everyone can see that it’s coming, but no one knows exactly when or how bad it will get. I know people who have put large amounts of money into prepping because of this. I know people that have moved to the country already in preparation for this happening. Do you want me to tell you they’re crazy or wrong for doing this? I can’t because if people are ripping the copper wiring out of buildings in the cities and bread costs $20 a loaf in 10 years (which is possible by the way), then they’re going to look awful smart. That bugout bag, a week’s worth of food and a handgun may be totally inadequate if it all goes to hell in a handbasket.

Theoretically, at least for now, this is a very fixable problem. It would just take Republicans and Democrats in Congress putting the good of the country first and working together to get our country’s finances back on solid ground. It would mean no new significant domestic spending programs, reforming Social Security and Medicare to make them more sustainable, ruthlessly slicing government programs, probably raising taxes on everyone from the middle class on up and cutbacks to defense.

5 Reasons Hillary Clinton Was the Worst Presidential Nominee in History

Like every presidential election that liberals lose, years later we’re still hearing about how unfair it all was. Of course, the favorite complaint of liberals this time around is “Russia did it!” Even if you accept for the sake of argument that Russia wanted Trump to win and hacked John Podesta’s email (and neither of those assertions may be true), buying some inconsequential Facebook ads for both sides and revealing the contents of John Podesta’s emails (none of which turned into truly major stories) wasn’t exactly a game changer.

Liberals also noted that Hillary would have won had the election been decided by the popular vote. This is like noting that if football games were decided by passing yards instead of the score, the Patriots would have beaten the Eagles in the Super Bowl. It doesn’t work that way, by design. We’ve also heard complaints that Bernie Sanders is responsible, presumably for daring to run against Hillary at all and we can’t forget “sexism.” That’s always a liberal rallying cry.

Moreover, it is impossible to overemphasize that, other than a few true believers, almost all of the political professionals (myself included) thought Hillary would win. In fact, if you believe Michael Wolff’s book, Fire and Fury, even the Trump campaign thought it was going to lose – and no wonder.

Just look at these numbers from June of 2016,

In Baltimore, The Gap Between White And Black Homeownership Persists

Devan Southerland knows she wants to purchase a home in Baltimore City. She is cautious, though, after hearing about how predatory lenders disproportionately targeted minority homebuyers a decade ago. "I just want to be smart about it," Southerland says. "Because I know a lot of black people suffered during the whole housing crisis and whole subprime lending issue that happened a few years ago."

In the historic Baltimore neighborhood of Bolton Hill, Southerland and her 10-year-old son, Liam, tour the tree-lined streets and dream about one day purchasing a home in this culturally diverse enclave. Average home prices in the neighborhood, known for its 19th century architecture, go for about $380,000.

Southerland is 39 years old and she is juggling a lot. As a legal assistant, she makes about $25,000 a year. She saves what she can but is also working on a master's degree in human services and has student loans.

Hawaii Volcano Quiets After Months-Long Eruption

After more than three months, the volcanic eruption on Hawaii's Big Island appears to be slowing.

Geologists at the Hawaiian Volcanic Observatory say the flow of lava from a crack in the earth at the foot of the Kilauea volcano has greatly diminished in recent days. It was lava from that vent, Fissure 8, that ran toward the coast in a molten river, inundating two seaside communities and reshaping the island's southeast coast.

That doesn't mean the event is over. Tina Neal, the scientist in charge of the observatory, noted that eruptions like this typically wax and wane.

"It could be weeks or months before we feel comfortable calling the eruption and the summit collapse over," she said in a press release.

West Hollywood Council vote on Removing Trump Hollywood Star

The West Hollywood City Council will consider a resolution Monday urging the Los Angeles City Council and the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to strip President Trump's star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The council's agenda item states the move was prompted by Trump's "disturbing treatment of women and other actions that do not meet the shared values of the City of West Hollywood, the region, state, and country," according to the Hollywood Reporter. Examples include the Trump administration's position on immigration, climate change, and Russia's attempts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, a council report added.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce previously refused to take away Bill Cosby's star over public backlash prompted by sexual misconduct allegations leveled at the actor and comedian, according to the magazine.

UCLA make students pay Classmates to promote "Social Justice"

The University of California-Los Angeles has hired 18 students at $13 per hour to combat “social injustices” and “privilege and oppression” following a semester-long recruitment campaign.

Hosted by the UCLA Intergroup Relations Program, the Diversity Peer Leaders project is a year-long internship during which students facilitate workshops on social justice issues in exchange for leadership training and compensation from UCLA.

According to the job application, each DPL is paid $13 an hour in exchange for working 30-45 hours during each of UCLA’s four academic quarters, including summer.

If all students put in just 30 hours per quarter, the program would cost at least $28,080 annually, but if all the DPLs were to work the maximum hours, the cost would rise to at least $42,120 per year.

Reached by Campus Reform, a UCLA spokesman did not dispute these estimates, but stressed that the program is funded by the school’s Students Services Fee, rather than tuition or taxpayer dollars.

Republican Troy Balderson leads Ohio special congressional election

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — Republican Troy Balderson leads in the highly scrutinized Ohio 12th Congressional District’s special election over Democrat Danny O’Connor Tuesday night, as President Trump, the Republican National Committee, and the National Republican Congressional Committee all declared victory.

With Balderson ahead 50.2 percent to 49.3 percent with all precincts counted, Republicans were close to a win that would give both the congressional party and the Trump White House some breathing room ahead of the November midterm elections. But O'Connor didn't concede on Tuesday, clinging to hopes Balderson's 1,754-vote lead could be erased.

Balderson, a state senator who grew up in this Muskingum County city, fought back against the Democratic insurgent O’Connor, who made this race closer than a safe Republican House seat should look on election night.

Here Are 410 Movies Made Under The Direct Influence And Supervision Of The Pentagon

A year ago we featured a detailed report by authors Tom Secker and Matthew Alford exposing just how vast the Pentagon and CIA programs for partnering with Hollywood actually are, based on some 4,000 new pages of formerly classified archived documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.

The report noted at the time that “These documents for the first time demonstrate that the US government has worked behind the scenes on over 800 major movies and more than 1,000 TV titles.”

Reviewing the ever expanding list, the average movie watcher might be in for a shock at what films are actually included — there are the more predictable ones like Black Hawk Down, Zero Dark Thirty, and Lone Survivor; but also entirely unexpected ones that apparently needed the military-industrial complex’s propaganda touch like Earnest Saves Christmas, Karate Kid 2, The Silence of the Lambs, Twister, the Iron Man movies, and more recently Pitch Perfect 3.

How to Win a Real Revolution

Most conservatives grasp that our nation desperately needs a real revolution – not a violent or unconstitutional revolution, but a real revolution nonetheless. At the outset, it is vital to understand that no revolution will ever come out of Washington. Indeed, "Capitolism" is the heart of all our political problems.

Likewise, states near Washington have a powerful vested interest in a bloated, pampered, and unrestrained federal government. So do all the media. Even nominally conservative media who suck on the federal teat have an equally vested interest in Washington remaining the only real source of power in America. Lawyers and judges, especially those whose domain is Washington, are also addicted to "Capitolism."

All revolutions begin in the colonies, the flyover lands where real work is done, the exploited territories whose voice is never heard – or, if heard, is smirked at and mocked, in the pampered salons of the brainless, soulless functionaries whose only function is to preserve the privileges and prerogatives of those nabobs in the nexus of power.

There is a natural and constitutional source of power to fight this sort of revolution: state legislatures. Despite such awful changes in the Constitution as the direct election of senators and in spite of the cravenness of many state legislatures before the political bribery of Washington and bullying of federal judges, state legislatures still have, with sufficient numbers, omnipotence in our constitutional system.

Trump looking to limit citizenship for legal immigrants who use public welfare programs

The Trump administration is working on a proposal that would make it harder for legal immigrants to obtain citizenship or acquire green cards if they’ve used public welfare programs, including Obamacare, according to a new report.

A draft of the plan described to NBC News shows the administration could prevent immigrants living legally in the U.S. who have used Obamacare, children’s health insurance and food stamps, among other benefits, from obtaining citizenship. Using Social Security Insurance already made it harder for immigrants to get legal status.

White House senior adviser Stephen Miller is spearheading the proposal, which NBC said would not need approval from Congress.

The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Gets A Bone Of Their Own

On Tuesday August 7th, at about 0930 Hrs. The Worcester County Sheriff’s office responded to homer Gudelsky Park in West Ocean City to investigate the possible recovery of a bone.

Deputies responded and met with a couple who stated that they were wading out in the water and came across an object that appeared to be like a suitcase or box. They reached into the object and pulled out items such as; parts of a woman’s shoe, pottery, and what appeared to be a bone.

The Deputy believed the object to be a bone and called for the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation to respond. Detectives arrived and concurred that the object looked like a bone.

The Medical examiner’s office sent an investigator to the scene and he believed it to be a bone. That object was collected and sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine if the bone is human or an animal.

The object that contained the above mentioned Items was located buried in the sand about 20 feet off the low tide shoreline. The Maryland State Police and Maryland Natural Resources Police Dive teams were requested to respond due to the fact the object could not be easily removed from the sandy bottom.

The dive team is not centralized and Troopers and officers must come from all parts of the state to the scene of the incident along with their equipment. During their response time the tide changed and what was in 3-6 inches of water was now submerged in 5 feet of water. The Dive officers began a pattern search for the object. Visibility was less than a foot and the current was moving fast. Divers had to diligently search the bottom floor of the bay by hand to relocate the object. The sun had begun to set and the boats were returning from the White Marlin Open making search efforts difficult. A decision was made to discontinue the search and resume it the following day at low tide.

On Wednesday 8-8-18 at about 1100 Hrs. WCBI Detectives and the MSP and NRP Dive teams responded back to the scene and waded out in the low water and located the object. After examination, it was determined that the object was a barrel made of wood and it was deteriorating quickly. As it was touched pieces were falling off . Divers methodically began digging around it in an attempt to remove it from the sand. Those attempts were unsuccessful due to the barrel falling apart.

A decision was made to dig out the inside of the barrel to identify its contents. After digging out the inside contents of the barrel, only sand, clams, and mussels were located. A scapula of a deer was found near the barrel.

The operation was closed down at that point. The suspected bone was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office for identification.

We are waiting for the identification of the suspected bone and will advise when we have that information.

We would like to thank the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation, The Maryland State Police and the Maryland Natural Resource Police in providing their assistance in this investigation.

An invasive new tick is spreading in the US

For the first time in 50 years, a new tick species has arrived in the United States — one that in its Asian home range carries fearsome diseases.

The Asian long-horned tick, Haemaphysalis longicornis, is spreading rapidly along the Eastern Seaboard. It has been found in seven states and in the heavily populated suburbs of New York City.

At the moment, public health experts say they are concerned, but not alarmed.

Although domestic U.S. ticks are a growing menace and transmit a dozen pathogens, no long-horned ticks here have yet been found with any human diseases. In Asia, however, the species carries a virus that kills 15 percent of its victims.

Professor Walter Williams: Colleges -- A Force for Evil

Many of the nation's colleges have become a force for evil and a focal point for the destruction of traditional American values. The threat to our future lies in the fact that today's college students are tomorrow's teachers, professors, judges, attorneys, legislators and policymakers. A recent Brookings Institution poll suggests that nearly half of college students believe that hate speech is not protected by the First Amendment.

Of course, it is.

Fifty-one percent of students think that it's acceptable to shout down a speaker with whom they disagree. About 20 percent of students hold that it's acceptable to use violence to prevent a speaker from speaking. Over 50 percent say colleges should prohibit speech and viewpoints that might offend certain people. Contempt for the First Amendment and other constitutional guarantees is probably shared by the students' high school teachers, as well as many college professors.

Brainwashing and indoctrination of young people has produced some predictable results, as shown by a recent Gallup Poll.

5 Voter Fraud Facts That Could Determine the Midterm Elections

As Americans head to the polls to vote in primaries this month, there has been much discussion about the threats to the American election system, both domestically and from abroad.

While some groups falsely claim that voter fraud is as rare as a lightning strike, some people still think the 2016 elections were either hacked by the Russians or tainted by millions of illegal votes. But there does seem to be agreement that American elections are far from secure. I have seen no evidence that Russians actually changed any votes in 2016. But as a research director for the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), and the author of Fraud: How the Left Plans to Steal the Next Election, I found plenty of evidence of fraud inside our borders.

Here are the five things everyone should know as they head to the polls this month:

1. Nearly 3 million people are registered to vote in two different states.

'Proud of Him': Championship Coach Bowden Defends HS Coach Fired Over Prayer

Retired Florida State Seminoles' Football Coach Bobby Bowden praised a Washington State high school coach fired over taking a knee in prayer on the field with his players.

Coach Joe Kennedy lost his job as an assistant football coach at a Bremerton, Wash., high school in 2015 after the school district suspended him for leading football players in prayer.

"I'm proud of him for standing up for what he believes," Bowden, who won multiple NCAA championships with FSU, said. "I'm proud of him for putting God first."

Bowden, who appeared on "The Story" with Kennedy and his attorney Jeremy Dys, said that he was sure members of Kennedy's former team are proud of him too.

"I don't know how I didn't get fired because I prayed all the time at Florida State," Bowden remarked.

VOTER FRAUD: 670 Ballots Cast in Georgia Precinct with 276 Voters

Six hundred and seventy ballots were cast in a Georgia precinct with 276 registered voters in the state’s primary election, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

A northeastern Georgia precinct located in Habersham County had 276 registered voters before the state’s primary elections at the end of May, but 670 votes were recorded—indicating that 276 percent of voters turned out in Georgia’s primary election, McClatchy reported.

The recently publicized voting irregularities come as the state investigated other instances of voter fraud—including one where an Atlanta City Hall staffer claimed she had to “print and deliver 500 blank absentee ballots” to an advocacy group staffer and pick up additional ballots from the Atlanta mayor’s campaign office to drop them off at an office in Fulton County.

Part of the reason for the increase in voter fraud claims stems from concerns about the security of Georgia’s electronic voting systems, as Georgia is one of a handful of states, including New Jersey, South Carolina, Delaware, and Louisiana, that uses electronic voting machines that do not produce a paper trail for voters to verify their ballots.

Elections experts say the lack of a paper trail makes the ballots difficult to audit.

A voter in one sworn statement said she and her husband were assigned to different polling places and city council districts even though both were registered to vote at the same address, according to McClatchy.

Maryland mom tests positive for opiates after eating poppy seed bagel

Democrats poised to pick transgender woman for Vermont governor

Former energy exec Christine Hallquist is vying to become the nation's first transgender governor.

MANCHESTER, Vt. —
Christine Hallquist leaned back in her swivel chair inside a private room at the Northshire bookstore and dialed up potential donors, trash-talking the plummeting approval numbers of Vermont’s incumbent Republican governor and touting her chances against her Democratic rivals. It's ‘Isolating’ To Be the Only English Speaker on the Job

American workers in blue collar jobs are grappling with the “isolating” prospect that their workplaces are increasingly dominated by non-English-speaking foreigners.

In two reports over the last few weeks, white working class Americans chronicled and interviewed by the Washington Post and Humans of New York, revealed the gripping impact of mass immigration on the country’s workers.

The Washington Post report follows the story of 20-year-old Heaven Engle and 25-year-old Venson Heim, a couple who work at the Bell & Evans Plant 2 in Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania.

The couple is outnumbered in the chicken processing plant as Spanish speakers primarily from the Dominican Republic make up the vast majority of their colleagues.

“It sucks when you can’t talk to no one,” Heaven told the Washington Post.

Meanwhile, the Humans of New York Instagram account recently interviewed an American drywall finisher who says he has not worked with a fellow American in three years. The worker called his blue collar job “isolating,” noting that he is the first one to be cut from jobs as he is outnumbered by non-English speakers and immigrants from Central and South America.

“I haven’t worked with an American for three years. I’m a union drywall finisher, and my job has completely been taken over by Central and South Americans,” the worker said. “All of them have union cards now. Can you imagine being the only one on your crew who doesn’t speak Spanish?"

TRUMP 2020 MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN FLAGS Flying Everywhere At The White Marlin Open

No matter what Marina you were in or visited, TRUMP flags were proudly displayed as far as the eye could see, much unlike what your local media tried to downplay.

Mark Odachowski told me last night, "I didn't come across a single negative person". People were begging for these flags as he walked down each pier and immediately putting them on their poles. "It's been an exhausting three days", said Odachowski. Turning down hundreds of onlookers, Odachowski explained how these flags were for the anglers as there is a very limited supply. "One gentleman offered me $100.00 for one flag".

I don't care what your party affiliation is, the mass majority love and support our President and that is what I personally gathered as I've been visiting each Marina throughout Ocean City and let me tell you, trying to find a parking space in ANY of them was a real pain!

It's about time Americans had something/someone to celebrate. Judging from the massive crowds, if you are one of those left wing liberals claiming you'll never come to Ocean City or the White Marlin Tournament ever again, guess what, you won't be missed. Just try getting a seat at a restaurant, bar or even a parking space anywhere near these marinas and you'll quickly learn the Trump supporters outnumber the Liberals a thousand to one.

Krieger: "Stop Complaining And Just Delete Facebook"

I wrote just one post last week and it centered around the dangers posed to society by U.S. tech giants. I specifically called out Facebook, pointing out how company executives are currently groveling to politicians in order to prevent legislation that might deem it a monopoly and curtail its power.

I explained how U.S. politicians prefer to use the power and reach of tech giants for their own ends rather than take them down a notch. Politicians aren’t at all concerned about the outsized influence of centralized tech behemoths engineering society using secret algorithms, they just want to be in control of how this power is abused.

Meanwhile, today’s biggest news is the uniform move by three U.S. tech giants to de-platform Alex Jones and his Infowars website. The main companies involved are Apple, Facebook and Google (via YouTube), as reported in The Guardian:

All but one of the major content platforms have banned the American conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, as the companies raced to act in the wake of Apple’s decision to remove five podcasts by Jones and his Infowars website.

Facebook unpublished four pages run by Jones for “repeated violations of community standards”, the company said on Monday. YouTube terminated Jones’s account over him repeatedly appearing in videos despite being subject to a 90-day ban from the website, and Spotify removed the entirety of one of Jones’s podcasts for “hate content”…

Facebook’s and YouTube’s enforcement action against Jones came hours after Apple removed Jones from its podcast directory. The timing of Facebook’s announcement was unusual, with the company confirming the ban at 3am local time.

Teen With Terminal Cancer Forgives Cyberbullies as He Fights ‘Culture of Death

In March, 16-year-old Jeremiah Thomas was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive bone cancer. Since then, he has battled chemotherapy, radiation, a collapsed lung, paralysis, and, unfortunately, many social media trolls.

But Jeremiah also has forged an unlikely partnership with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and forgiven those who taunt him.

With perhaps only weeks left to live, Jeremiah—a former all-star, state champion football player from Waco, Texas—has been told numerous times on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook that he is not dying soon enough … because he took a stand for life.

“Cancer is giving your mom a late term abortion. Lmao [laughing my a– off],” one message said.

Breaking the Big E: Already more than $1 billion in projected costs and snarled in red tape

Scrapping the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier could cost the Navy as much as $1.5 billion and take more than a decade to complete, according to the Government Accountability Office.

But the final price tag and the future timetable for dismantling the decommissioned Enterprise ultimately will depend on whether the Navy can contract with a private shipyard to finish the job or make its Puget Sound Naval Shipyard do the work.

The private sector option would be cheaper and faster, but the project is tangled in bureaucratic red tape, the federal watchdog agency warned in a report released on Thursday.

That’s mostly due to squabbling between the Navy and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission over which agency can legally oversee the dismantling project if it’s handed over to a commercial shipyard.

By law, Naval Reactors is the Navy department handling all the service’s nuclear propulsion programs while the NRC oversees civilian nuclear reactors, materials and waste disposal.

Troopers Arrest Rehoboth Beach Man for Assault

Matthew S. McDavidMatthew S. McDavid
Rehoboth Beach- The Delaware State Police have arrested a suspect after he ran a bicyclist off the road and assaulted him.

The incident occurred on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at approximately 11:12 a.m., when Troopers responded to the area of Plantations Road, south of Cedar Grove Road for an assault complaint. Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with a witness who advised he was driving on Plantations Road when he saw a man beating a cyclist with an object, and immediately called 911.

The victim, a 50-year-old man from Milton, remained on scene and advised he was riding his bike on Plantations Road south of Cedar Grove Road when a white work truck got really close to him and almost ran him off the road. The subject then drove by him and blew a loud horn next to him while he was riding his bike. The victim became startled and punched the driver's side window of the truck, not causing any damage. The operator of the truck stopped his vehicle in the middle of the roadway, got out, and grabbed an object from the bed of the truck, and attempted to strike the victim in the head. The victim was able to block the object with his forearm, causing him to sustain a laceration. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.

The operator of the truck fled the scene, and was subsequently located in the Heritage Village development. Troopers made contact with the driver, 33-year-old Matthew McDavid, who was standing by the vehicle. McDavid was subsequently taken into custody without incident.

The object used to strike the victim, a large black in color wire/cable was recovered from the truck.

McDavid was transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Assault Second Degree, and Unattended Motor Vehicle. He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released on $3,001.00 unsecured bond.

Vegans and vegetarians may think they’re 'eating healthy.' They’re not

More than 7 million Americans are now vegetarian, and more and more are converting every year. The number of vegans in the U.S. increased by 600 percent between 2014 and 2017.

And while it is true that predominantly plant-based diets have numerous benefits, they can also cause several underappreciated health problems.

The reason? Those who avoid animal food products often do not get enough B-12, the much-needed vitamin found in animal products that helps build red blood cells, repair DNA, and protect the brain.

That could be dangerous. Whether through more animal foods, including eggs and dairy, or a dietary supplement, Americans must ensure they get enough of this essential but scarce micronutrient.

Most vegans, those who don’t eat any animal products, and vegetarians, who don't eat red meat, seafood, or poultry, are short on B-12. A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found nine in 10 vegans had below-normal levels of B-12. Vegetarians fare a bit better thanks to dairy and eggs, but they also fall short -- more than two in three are below normal in B-12. And about 55 percent of children on a vegetarian diet have inadequate B-12 levels, according to a study by researchers at East Carolina University.
