Everyone is taking way too much ibuprofen
Many adults who use ibuprofen and other so-called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drugs take too much, increasing their risk of serious side effects like internal bleeding and heart attacks, a new study suggests.
About 15 percent of adults taking ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or other NSAIDs like aspirin, naproxen (Aleve), celecoxib (Celebrex), meloxicam (Mobic) and diclofenac (Voltaren) exceeded the maximum recommended daily dose for these drugs, the study found.
“NSAIDs are among the most commonly used medicines in the US and worldwide,” said lead study author Dr. David Kaufman of Boston University.

Jerks force LL Bean to ditch world’s best return policy
LL Bean is tweaking what may have been the most generous return policy in the world.
Calling out a “small, but growing number of customers” who abused the no-questions-asked policy, the outdoor gear and apparel company will limit returns to one year after purchase — and require a receipt, it said in a letter to customers.
“Some view [our guarantee] as a lifetime product replacement program, expecting refunds for heavily worn products used over many years,” wrote executive chairman Shawn Gorman, who is the great-grandson of founder Leon Leonwood Bean.
Gorman said in the letter that “others seek refunds for products that have been purchased through third parties, such as yard sales.”
The change in the longstanding return policy by the Freeport, Maine, company, which has a cult-like following in some places, drew more than 1,000 comments on its Facebook page.

33 pounds of fentanyl – enough to wipe out Massachusetts – seized in Boston
Boston authorities said they seized more than 33 pounds of fentanyl—enough to kill millions of people—in connection with one of Massachusetts’ biggest drug busts ever.
In announcing the results of a six-month wiretap probe called "Operation High Hopes," prosecutors said the synthetic opioid was being sold on the street by a drug gang with links to Mexico’s notorious Sinaloa Cartel, the drug organization once led by Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.
“I want to be clear about the size and scope here,” District Attorney Daniel Conley said at a news conference Thursday. “Massachusetts’ fentanyl trafficking statute covers quantities greater than 10 grams. That threshold represents less than 1/1000 of the quantity we’ve taken off the street.”
He said the number of overdoses the seized fentanyl could have caused “is truly staggering.”
“Individuals who buy and sell at this level aren’t users,” Conley said. “They’re not small-time dealers, either. They’re certainly not selling to support a habit. They’re trafficking in addictive substances that claim more lives in Massachusetts than all homicides, all suicides, and all car crashes, statewide, combined.”

Battlefield acupuncture? Yes, the military is using it to fight troops’ pain
The U.S. military has added the ancient holistic therapy of acupuncture to its arsenal for fighting opioid abuse in the ranks.
The practice, which first originated in China about 8,000 years ago, provides immediate relief for acute and chronic pain, and, without the risk of addiction, can be used without any restrictions.
One of the most popular forms used in the military has been dubbed ‘battlefield acupuncture,’ or BFA, because it’s simple to administer and easily transportable, according to Dr. Richard Niemtzow, who developed BFA in 2001. With BFA, service members can continue to participate, unimpaired, in work and life.
“They don’t have to wait hours for medications to take maximal effect or endure side effects, like drowsiness or allergic reactions, of common pain medications,” said Air Force Col. Lynda Vu, who recently administered BFA while deployed in Qatar. “This allows personnel to go back to the fight with minimal impact to continuing mission operations.”

Invasive 20-pound rodents increasingly burrowing into California
A giant invasive rodent with the ability to destroy roads, levees and wetlands has been discovered in Stanislaus County.
Weighing in at 20 pounds and measuring 2 feet, 6 inches long, plus a 12-inch tail, the nutria live in or near water. They're also incredibly destructive.
“They burrow in dikes, and levees, and road beds, so they weaken infrastructure, (which is) problematic for flood control systems,” California Fish and Wildlife spokesperson Peter Tira said.
When nutria aren’t burrowing, they’re eating. They can consume 25 percent of their body weight each day in vegetation, but they waste and destroy 10 times that.

White House did not deny release of Democrats’ memo: Rep. Nunes
Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and author of the controversial Republican memo alleging government surveillance abuse during the 2016 presidential campaign, said on Sunday the White House did not block the release of the Democrats’ rebuttal to the GOP note.
“What they did is they said, ‘look, you need to make some redactions and some technical corrections here and we will get it out right away.’ Now from that point, we’ve heard nothing but crickets,” Nunes, R-Calif., told Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures.” “Their memo is sitting at the House Intelligence Committee down at the bottom of the Capitol waiting to be redacted. If they really wanted to get it out they’d be down there all day yesterday redacting it, getting it back over to the White House so that the public could know what’s in it. So this is nothing but politics,” he added.

Flashback: Democrats Defended Sen. Sherrod Brown Against Wife Abuse Claims
When Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel noted in 2012 that Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) had been accused of abusing his wife, liberals accused Mandel of abusing women by raising the issue.
Rita Smith, executive director of the Denver-based National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, declined at the time to criticize Brown. Instead, she defended Brown’s voting record on women’s issues. And she told an interviewer that Mandel’s attack on Brown was “‘actually abusive,’ because he is putting Brown’s family, including his former wife, in a negative spotlight, ‘and that is abusive of women.'”
That is how many Democrats really feel about politicians who abuse women. As long as they have a “D” after their names, and vote for abortion, they are almost incapable of abuse.

*Update* Troopers Investigating Serious Crash-Millsboro
Millsboro - The Delaware State Police are investigating a serious crash that occurred at the intersection of Dupont Boulevard (US 113) at Town Center Boulevard, the entrance/ exit to the Peninsula Crossing Shopping Center.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:06 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018 as a Volvo tractor pulling an empty enclosed box trailer, operated by a 63-year-old man from Birdsnest, VA was traveling south bound on US 113 in the right lane just north of the entrance/exit to Peninsula Crossing with a green light displayed. A 2013 Nissan Altima, operated by a 26-year-old female from Dagsboro was in the east bound left turn lane exiting the shopping center with a red light displayed. The operator of the Nissan was believed to be turning onto north bound US 113. For unknown reasons the operator of the Nissan failed to stop for the red light and entered the south bound lanes in front of the Volvo. As a result, the front of the Volvo struck the left side front door of the Nissan. After impact, the Volvo continued south and came to rest across the grass median. The Nissan was forced in a south, easterly direction as it rotated counter clockwise across the median and coming to a rest in the north bound right lane of US 113.
The 63-year-old operator of the Volvo was properly restrained and not injured as a result of this crash.
The 26-year-old operator of the Nissan was removed from the scene by Emergency Medical Services and transported to the Beebe Medical Center prior to being transferred to the Christiana Hospital in serious condition.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor on behalf of either operator. The roadway was closed for approximately 2 ½ hours while the investigation was conducted and the roadway was cleared.

Professor Claims Soros ‘Missionaries’ Bragged About Toppling Governments
Author and sociologist Frank Furedi claims globalist activists working for billionaire financier George Soros bragged about toppling governments at a private lunch.
A former professor of sociology at the University of Kent in Canterbury, Furedi recounted his experience with the globalist’s “missionaries” in an article for the Telegraph newspaper, having been prompted by the revelations about his efforts to bring down the British government and trigger another EU referendum.
“Soros believes that if the people voted the wrong way, he is entitled to thwart decisions made by them,” Furedi wrote.
“Soros does not believe in the legitimacy of borders nor in the authority of national electorates. Consequently, he feels entitled to influence and if possible direct the political destiny of societies all over the world.”

Violent Somali Rapist Told Teen Victim She Couldn’t Be a Virgin ‘Because She’s White’
A Somali national has been jailed after he held a sharp piece of wood to a teenage girl’s throat as he raped her.
Ahmed Abdoule said the girl could not be a virgin “because she was white”, and told her “my country would love you” following the attack, was given an 11-year sentence at Hull Crown Court the Hull Daily Mail reports.
Reports have not indicated how long Abdoule will actually spend in prison and the court has not responded to a request for information, but if the sentence follows the standard formula he will likely be released after roughly 5 years.
Despite his racial contempt for the victim, the Abdoule’s crime does not appear to have been treated as racially aggravated, which could have meant a tougher sentence.

DACA ‘Dreamer’ Wanted for Alleged Murder of Texas Store Owner
An investigation by a Houston television reporter revealed that the man accused of murdering a store owner is allegedly an illegal alien who is currently under President Barack Obama’s DACA amnesty program. The “Dreamer” is currently on the run after allegedly killing the store owner and shooting another man.
An investigation by ABC13’s Jessica Willey reports that accused killer Judas Deluna, 21, is an illegal alien who is currently under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program. The program allows undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents to receive temporary protected status from deportation. The federal government is supposed to conduct a criminal background investigation prior to adjusting the immigrant’s DACA status.
Deluna may have obtained the DACA protection despite a prior history of felony arrests and convictions.

New Bill to ‘Protect’ Journalists Is Unnecessary Political Pandering
On Monday, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., and several other Democratic congressmen introduced a bill in the House that they say is necessary to protect journalists from violent attacks caused by the Trump administration’s “toxic culture.”
The bill, called the Journalist Protection Act, would make it a federal crime to intentionally cause bodily harm to a journalist, either while the journalist is taking part in newsgathering, or with the purpose of intimidating or impeding the journalist’s newsgathering.
The maximum sentence for a conviction is six years in prison for causing severe bodily harm, or three years in prison for causing lesser bodily harm.
Swalwell says this measure “helps ensure law enforcement is able to punish those who interfere with newsgathering.”

Black Lives Matter Infiltrates Public Schools with Globalism, Diversity, 'Queer-Affirming,' Common Core
The Black Lives Matter movement is using Black History Month as a vehicle to insert its agenda into public schools across the country, using curriculum for elementary and middle school students that includes teaching diversity, globalism, and “queer affirming” lessons — all in formats conforming to the controversial Common Core framework.
The Progressive website reported on the Feb. 5-9 National Black Live Matter Week of Action in Our Schools taking place this year at schools in Seattle (where the movement started), Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.:
Educators in America know all too well that the school-to-prison pipeline is not just a political catchphrase. Those who work with students of color know this pipeline is as real as any other.
“It extends across this country,” says Seattle educator, attorney, and organizer Nikkita Oliver. “The Black Lives Matter at School movement is about dismantling the school-to-prison-pipeline,” says Oliver, “and creating a school-to-justice-pipeline for our youth.”

Lawmakers urge 'buddy system' to avoid entrapment...
SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah State Senator says a woman may have tried to entrap him at his hotel room, and lawmakers are asking for a police investigation.
Sen. Evan Vickers, R-Cedar City, told reporters he was getting ready to leave his hotel room at the Little America on Thursday night when a woman knocked on his door.
"I opened the door and there was a young lady standing there and she said 'Hi,' and I said, 'Hi, who are you?' And she said, 'I’m your date.' I said, 'No, you’re not.' She said, 'Yes, I’m your date.'"
Sen. Vickers said the woman refused to leave and insisted she was his "date."
He locked his door, and called a legislative colleague to walk with him out of the hotel. By the time that lawmaker arrived, the woman had left.

$20 Billion Hidden In The Swamp: Feds Redact 255,000 Salaries
The only thing the bureaucratic resistance hates more than President Trump is the disclosure of their own salaries. It’s a classic case of the bureaucracy protecting the bureaucracy, underscoring the resistance faced by the new administration.
Recently, Open the Books filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (pictured) for all federal employee names, titles, agencies, salaries, and bonus information.
We’ve captured and posted online this data for the past 11 years. For the first time, we found missing information throughout the federal payroll disclosures. Here’s a sample of what we discovered from the FY2017 records:
254,839 federal salaries were redacted in the federal civil service payroll (just 3,416 salaries were redacted in FY2016).
68 federal departments redacted salaries. Even small agencies like the National Transportation Services Board and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation redacted millions of dollars in salaries.
$20 billion in estimated payroll now lacks transparency.
A 7,360 percent increase in opacity hides one out of every five federal salaries.
Who’s the bureaucrat in charge? Not a Trump appointee – the president doesn’t even have a current nominee at OPM. So, the buck stops with new acting Director Kathleen McGettigan, a 25-year staffer who assumed the position because she was the next in line, not because the White House appointed her.

Dem Senator Who Hit Ex-Wife Sits Out Rob Porter Abuse Scandal
Delaware senator Tom Carper, a Democrat who has admitted to hitting his ex-wife hard enough to give her a black eye, will not be commenting on the scandal surrounding spousal abuse by now-resigned White House official Rob Porter.
The accusations from Porter's two ex-wives of domestic abuse, which were bolstered by a photograph of one of them with a black eye she says was caused by Porter, was the top political story this week in Washington, D.C. Carper, however, has been silent.
"We do not have a comment on Porter," said a Carper spokesperson.

Del Beccaro: All Corrupt DOJ and FBI Roads Lead to Obama
Holistic analysis of the Justice Department (DOJ) and FBI’s interconnected and ostensible investigations of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump amount to “the worst abuse of political power in American history related to elections,” according to Tom Del Beccaro.
Del Beccaro, an attorney and contributor to Forbes, joined Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with co-hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak to discuss his recently published – and continually updated – timeline of events, entitled “Biased FBI and DOJ Officials Broke the Law and Tried to Decide the Election.”
“The DOJ [and] the entire Obama administration wound down the Hillary email crisis in time for her to really run for office and then ramped up the attacks on candidate Trump to stop him from being president,” said Del Beccaro.
As president, Barack Obama signaled to his administration officials that Hillary Clinton was not to be meaningfully investigated for her felonious use of a private email system during her tenure as secretary of state, said Del Beccaro.
“The FBI was sort of just going through the motions with Hillary, and it’s about March or April, and suddenly the election heats up, and Obama goes on TV, and he says, with Chris Wallace, basically, that she didn’t intend to do anything [wrong]; she didn’t want to harm us,” said Del Beccaro.

Blackness as Disability
Another way to shake down whitey.
Kimani Paul-Emile is a light-skinned black woman who teaches law at Fordham Law School. Since graduating from Brown University in 1993 and getting a law degree from Georgetown, she has been showered with countless honors and fellowships, and in 2016, she co-founded the Center for Race, Law, and Justice at Fordham. “Just suing isn’t going to get you there,” she explained at the time, noting that “it requires a broader approach” to correct “the racial disparities and inequality that threaten our democracy and system of justice.”
Prof. Paul-Emile has been as good as her word. She has come up with a novel approach to correcting “racial disparities” that exemplifies the inexhaustible inventiveness of the leftist imagination. In a paper called “Blackness as Disability?” she proposes a radical expansion of the grounds on which minorities—but especially blacks—should get special treatment.
When the paper was first announced, only its abstract was available, and Breitbart and The College Fix mocked it as yet another example of fanciful academic lunacy. The full, 73-page paper is now available, and it is stuffed with legal citations and footnotes. This woman is serious: She is proposing a new way of treating race that would give blacks—and perhaps other non-whites—massive benefits. In a country that has managed to turn anti-discrimination laws such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 into justifications for discriminating against whites, it is entirely possible that a “progressive” administration would try to implement her proposal.
The very first lines of the article set out Prof. Paul-Emile’s perspective:

"The bug that it triggers is more than just an annoyance in the sense that it will render your Chrome browser unresponsive,” Jerome Segura, Lead Intelligence Analyst at Malwarebytes, told Fox News.
“In our tests, it also caused the operating system (Windows) to become unstable if we let it run for a certain amount of time,” Segura said, adding that Google is looking into the issue.
After the malicious code locks the browser, the fake warning tries to trick a user into calling a number. Then, a person posing as a company representative – from, for example, a well-known American technology company – asks for sensitive personal or financial information to fix the bogus issue.

Nolte : CNN Repeatedly Provides National Platform for Nazis and Klansmen
If you take a good look around, the only major news outlet regularly offering its imprimatur to Nazis and Klansmen is the far-left CNN. Unfortunately, the anti-Trump’s channel’s goal is not a misguided view of free speech-for-all. Rather, it is just another attempt on CNN’s part to achieve its sinister political goals through the mainstreaming and legitimizing of hate.
It was CNN that gave Arthur Jones, a full-blown Nazi and Holocaust-denier, a national platform earlier this week. Until then, no one had everheard of Jones. He is just some despicable nobody local-bigot from Illinois running a futile congressional campaign in the hopes his stunt will give him bigger opportunities to promote his vile views, which CNN was all too happy to provide.
CNN’s validation of Nazis and Klansmen does not stop there. CNN’s top anti-Trump commentator, Jake Tapper, has made a cottage industry out of offering a former-Klansman and current white supremacist a national profile.
Without Tapper and CNN promoting him and his views, David Duke would be a historical footnote, the Louisiana racist who spent 30 years grasping for the spotlight with various political runs, and did manage to squeak three years into the state house. Without Tapper and CNN working as his PR firm today, though, no one would consider Duke relevant or even remember him.

Trump: Democrats Knew Memo Would Have To Be 'Heavily Redacted'
President Donald Trump called out congressional Democrats for playing political games when they submitted a Democratic response to the Republican memo concerning abuses by the FBI and Justice Department, saying they knew it would have to be "heavily redacted."
"The Democrats sent a very political and long response memo which they knew, because of sources and methods (and more), would have to be heavily redacted, whereupon they would blame the White House for lack of transparency,” Trump said in a tweet. “Told them to re-do and send back in proper form!"
Trump returned the Democratic response to the House Intelligence Committee on Friday asking for it to be revised over concerns about classified information contained in the document.

A Viewer Writes: Exposing The Independence Card Store
Good Morning Joe.
I read with a great deal of satisfaction the comments about the "independence" card used to buy beer. Trust me when I tell you that it was the taxpayer funded card WAS used to buy beer. And to the
person who said I needed a new wife, screw you, she's my best friend and a hell of a lot smarter than you.

The store in question is the Beverage Barn on the point between Snow Hill Road and Vine Street, nothing to hide here. I work and I pay taxes and chances are some of the commenters do neither.
Tom Van Flein: GOP Congress 'Still Running Nancy Pelosi's Priorities' -- 'We're Talking About Amnesty, not Building a Wall'
Democrats are “winning the narrative” and “winning their priorities” in Capitol Hill spending deals despite congressional GOP majorities and a Republican president, said Tom Van Flein, current chief of staff for Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), on Friday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Rebecca Mansour.
Van Flein, who served as Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s attorney before coming to Congress with Gosar in the 2010 Tea Party electoral victory, offered a grassroots conservative’s behind-the-scenes look at the dysfunctional congressional budget process.
Democrats’ political victories include the prioritization of a broad bipartisan push for amnesty despite Republican majorities in both the House and Senate, said Van Flein.
“Right now, for whatever reason, even though Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the presidency, we’ve been dealing with Democratic priorities,” said Van Flein. “So Democrats got a lot their spending priorities passed. … We are losing even though we’re supposedly running the show. We’re talking about immigration amnesty, not building a wall, not border security; that means they’re winning the narrative and they’re winning their priorities.”

Peeling back the layers of Hillary Clinton’s deceit
For law enforcement, Congress and even journalists, exposing misdeeds is like peeling an onion. Each layer you remove gets you closer to the truth.
So it is with the scandalous behavior of the FBI during its probe into whether President Trump’s campaign conspired with Russia in 2016. One layer at a time, we’re learning how flawed and dirty that probe was.
A top layer involves the texts between FBI lawyer Lisa Page and her married lover, Peter Strzok, the lead agent on the Hillary Clinton e-mail probe. They casually mention an “insurance policy” in the event Trump won the election and a plan for Strzok to go easy on Clinton because she probably would be their next boss.
Those exchanges, seen in the light of subsequent events, lead to a reasonable conclusion that the fix was in among then-Director James Comey’s team to hurt Trump and help Clinton.

Mo Brooks: Amnesty Coming, ‘Debt Junkies’ Turning USA into ‘World’s Orphanage’
Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) joined Breitbart News Saturday SiriusXM hosts Matt Boyle and Amanda House to discuss DACA, amnesty, and the pending budget deal.
Brooks called the proposed budget bill “The worst bill that has been voted on on the House floor since I’ve been in the United States Congress.” He also said it would put the country on a certain path to “insolvency and bankruptcy,” saying it would do “great damage to Americans” across the board. He also expressed serious concern that the White House is prepared to cave on the debt issue.
Brooks faulted so -alled “debt junkies” in Congress all too happy to spend money to get re-elected while “spending away America’s future.”
He also said the same “debt junkies tend to be the same ones who think with their hearts and not with their heads and want to give amnesty to illegal aliens even though it means we are becoming the world’s orphanage and we don’t have money to be the world’s orphanage.”

Black Lives Matter Infiltrates Public Schools with Globalism, Diversity, ‘Queer-Affirming’

DREAMer Thanks Trump, Rips Pelosi & Schumer for 'Using Us as Pawns'
A Mexican native whose mother brought him to America at age 1 said President Trump has shown "leadership and compassion" toward DACA recipients like himself, while Democrats have conversely used them as "pawns."
Hilario Yanez, who goes by Eli, said Trump showed courage to tackle the illegal immigration issue comprehensively during his first year in office.
"Here's a guy who wants to provide a pathway to citizenship for myself and really make a difference in my life," he said, adding that if the president believes a border wall is necessary for national security, then he would support it.
Yanez said top Democrats have "no clear message" on immigration policy, other than to "us[e] us as pawns."

Trump says 'mere allegation' can shatter lives
President Donald Trump is bemoaning what he believes is a lack of due process for "someone falsely accused."
Trump, in a tweet, appears to question the circumstances that led to the resignation of a senior aide who was accused of domestic violence..
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused - life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?

Olympic Tantrum
A speedskater for Team USA skipped Friday’s opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics a day after venting his frustration over not being picked to be the U.S. flag bearer.
Shani Davis, 35, lost a coin toss to Erin Hamlin, a luge athlete who won a bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
Davis said the matter had been “dishonorably” decided, and tweeted that he could “wait until 2022.” He later made his tweets private.
Exactly why Davis skipped Friday’s opening ceremony, has not been confirmed, however. A representative for U.S. Speedskating told the Wrap it is not uncommon for athletes to debate whether to attend the opening ceremony.

High School Athletes Respond After Atheists Target Their Game-Time Prayer
Members of an Ohio high school basketball team accused a nonprofit of effectively silencing their customary prayer before games.
Nicholas Pidgeon and Nick Everett of the West Branch School District, and Pidgeon's father, Brooke, said the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) demanded that the district stop praying before games.
FFRF called the prayers "inappropriate and unconstitutional” and said the school "must take immediate action to end the practice of prayer."
Everett said everyone on the team wants to continue to pray.
The elder Pidgeon said the school's sports teams have been praying for 40 years, and that FFRF's protest is something "we're not going to take lightly."
The trio created and printed T-shirts and hoodies that read "Prayer Matters" and began selling them to pay for a possible defense fund if needed.

Experimental Drug That Kills The Flu In 24 Hours May Come To U.S. Next Year
Amid the worst flu-season in nearly a decade, a Japanese drugmaker is hard at work conducting late stage trials on a pill that they say can kill the flu virus within a day - a third of the time it takes Roche AG's Tamiflu.
Both drugs take roughly the same amount of time to completely contain flu symptoms, but Shionogi says its treatment provides immediately relief much faster. Considering that the U.S. has been hit by one of the worst flu epidemics in years, with the most intense rates of transmission since 2009, the Japanese company's treatment can't come quickly enough.
The experimental treatment developed by the 140-year-old Osaka-based drugmaker requires a single dose, as opposed to two daily doses of Tamiflu for five days. If the drug is as fast as the company claims, it could mean the difference between life and death for at-risk flu sufferers while cutting down the window of active transmission for contagion.
A spokesman for Roche - which holds the international license to distribute the experimental drug, said the Shionogi treatment had proven "significantly faster" at killing the flu, more conveniently, and that the compound offered "improved tolerability" vs. Tamiflu.
The drug was developed as an offshoot of a blockbuster anti-HIV drug, working to block the flu virus from hijacking a cell's internal mechanism, according to Chief Executive Isao Teshirogi.

The media's DACA scam isn't working
The national media are incapable of talking about the the so-called “Dreamers,” illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as minors, without portraying them as victims of the Trump administration.
They’re victims of circumstances brought on by their own parents and nothing else.
And for the sake of not buying into the B.S., we’ll refer to them here as “DACA people,” DACA being the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that allowed them to stay in the country for an unfixed period.
The program expires March 5, leaving the nearly 2 million people eligible for DACA vulnerable to deportation, unless Congress acts on immigration reform and secures them legal protection.
President Trump and most Americans say they support the DACA people being permitted to stay and apply for citizenship. An immigration plan by the White House is offering a path to citizenship for almost all of them, so long as Congress also passes funding for a border wall, ends the visa lottery, and sharply limits chain migration to only spouses and their children. (Under the Trump plan, "chain migration" would be called "family reunification," but the term is already in use under the current system and actually means "anyone even remotely related to a U.S. citizen can get a visa.")

Indiana Democrat Vulnerable on Illegal Immigration Now in GOP Sights
Sen. Joe Donnelly is feeling the heat after illegal immigrants commit two high-profile crimes in the Hoosier State
Republicans and President Donald Trump were always going to use illegal immigration against opposition candidates in this year’s midterm elections — yet vulnerable Democrats likely did not think they would be hurt by the issue.
Trump is on the defensive, after all, on a variety of issues. And midterm elections can be brutal to the party with an incumbent in the White House.
But multiple immigration-related issues have hit one especially vulnerable Senate Democrat in Indiana in just the last few weeks. It seems increasingly evident that illegal immigration — Trump’s centerpiece issue — will be the hot topic of the 2018 election.
Last Sunday morning, a twice-deported Guatemalan national was driving drunk along Interstate Highway 70 in Indianapolis, and swerved into two men. Killed on impact were Edwin Jackson, an Indianapolis Colts linebacker, and the Uber driver he was trying to help, Jeffrey Monroe.

The 10 Dumbest Things Nancy Pelosi Has Said (Lately)
Coming up with a list of dimwitted things the Democratic minority leader has spoken is easy — but narrowing it down is the real challenge.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) could be the next speaker of the House of Representatives — if she can manage her gaffes, that is, which doesn’t seem likely.
The Democratic leader set a House record Wednesday for continuous speech. She talked from 10:04 a.m. to 6:11 p.m. to propound her view of why America must grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, known as dreamers — for the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act — who were brought here as children.
House Republicans were reportedly delighted that Pelosi spoke so long, as they believe the more she talks, the more Americans remember why they booted her and her party out of control of Congress in the 2010 midterm election, considered the “Tea Party election.” Pelosi was speaker of the House from 2007 to 2011.
Pelosi has a long record of making dumb remarks that she genuinely appears to believe. There are so many to choose from, but here are LifeZette’s top 10:
1.) In 2013, Pelosi told Fox News’ Chris Wallace that spending wasn’t a big deal, and it could be offset by raising taxes. But in explaining her belief, she said, “It’s almost a false argument to say we have a spending problem.”
Almost false? Just four years later, the national debt is $20 trillion.

OxyContin maker says it will no longer market opioid to doctors
In a surprise reversal, the maker of the powerful painkiller OxyContin said Saturday that it will stop promoting opioid drugs to doctors.
Manufacturer Purdue bowed to a key demand of lawsuits that blame the Connecticut-based company for helping trigger the opioid epidemic.
The company's statement said it eliminated more than half its sales staff this week and will no longer send sales representatives to doctors' offices to discuss opioid drugs.
Its remaining sales staff of about 200 will focus on other medications.
"The genie is already out of the bottle," said Dr. Andrew Kolodny, director of opioid policy research at Brandeis University and an advocate for stronger regulation of opioid drug companies. "Millions of Americans are now opioid-addicted because the campaign that Purdue and other opioid manufacturers used to increase prescribing worked well. "

Troopers Arrest Two for Drugs During a Home Visit- Laurel
Laurel - Troopers of the Sussex County Governors Task Force (GTF) and Probation and Parole Officers responded for a home visit which led to multiple drug arrests.
On Friday, February 9, 2018, at approximately 2:40 p.m., members of the GTF assisted Probation and Parole with a home visit in the 600 block of Little Creek Apartments in reference to a Level 4 Probationer, 24-year-old Joseph R. Andrew Napolitano Exposes FISA Court Charade
There is plenty of reason to think that regular United States courts too readily allow surveilling people and searching their homes and property. But, in the US court authorized by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), there is not even a pretense of observing Fourth Amendment restraints.
The result is what many Americans who demanded a Bill of Rights be adopted in the early days of the United States sought to prevent from arising in America — routine, sweeping judicial decrees for invading people’s privacy based on little or no credible reason to suspect the people committed criminal acts.
In a Monday interview at Fox Business, legal scholar and former New Jersey state Judge Andrew Napolitano called out the FISA court for its extreme flaunting of constitutional restraints. Presenting a scenario where he is woken in the middle of the night by a call from the courthouse regarding an urgent warrant request that the state police are waiting in the lobby of his building to discuss with him, Napolitano illustrates the difference between the process to obtain a FISA court warrant and the process he employed as a judge. Napolitano explains.

Peter Schweizer: Convene a Grand Jury in Little Rock for the Clintons
A grand jury should be convened in Little Rock, Arkansas, to examine potential criminality related to the Clinton Foundation, said Peter Schweizer. Such a move, he said, would help restore public confidence in the Department of Justice (DOJ) and judicial system.
Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute, joined SiriusXM’sBreitbart News Tonight for a Monday interview with co-hosts Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak.
Convening a grand jury to evaluate evidence of potential criminality on the side of Bill and Hillary Clinton with respect to political corruption would assuage public concerns of partisan political operations at the DOJ and FBI, said Schweizer.
“I think really what you really need to do, when it comes to the Clinton Foundation, is you need to convene a grand jury, and I think you ought to do it in Little Rock, Arkansas, where the Clinton Foundation is headquarters and based, and let the American public look at the evidence,” said Schweizer. “I think that’s really the only way that we’re going to get the kind of clarity that we need. Otherwise, there are going to be these lingering questions about how the FBI investigation was handled and whether it was politically tilted in one way or another.”
